The article gives elements of methodology for preparation of ground models related to rock masses in the light of the second generation of Eurocode 7 (EC7 2025). The goal is to present state of the art in this field and to discuss procedures in ground modelling for typical rock engineering problems. Proposed methodology is based on earlier knowledge in preparation of engineering geological and geotechnical models developed in Yugoslavia, modified and adopted to newer recomendations in the EC7 2025. Preparation of Ground and Geotechnical Design Model shall be based on results from geotechnical investigations necessary in succesful definiton of Geotechnical Categories (GC) based on a combination of Consequence Class (CC) and Geotechnical Complexity Class (GCC). Practical illustration is done through presentation of several case histories for different types of structures constructed in rock mass media along Macedonian road network or hydrotechnical projects. Some open questions that can be a starting point for further developments are also mentioned.
