The issues of public control, including in various spheres of public life, have been actively considered by people's deputies and scientists. The relevance of the study is that the adoption of the law «On Public Control» will contribute to the establishment of effective activities of public authorities, prevention of corruption, elimination of negative phenomena in their functioning. The purpose of the article is to analyze the state of development of individual bills on public control, identify shortcomings in them, indicate the elimination of omissions and ways to supplement legal provisions. A brief analysis of the bills submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for discussion is presented. In particular, these are the bills – «On Public Control» from 14.04. № 4697, «On public control» dated 13.11.2015 №2737-1, «Legal and organizational principles of public control and public dialogue in Ukraine» dated 30.04.2021 №5458, «System of public control over traffic» dated 16.07.2021 № 5798, «On civil control over the activities of authorities, their officials and officials» from 07.08.2018 № 9013. They noted the definition of the concept of public control, the legal basis for its implementation, the subject and object of control, principles, objectives, sub ' projects, their rights and responsibilities, various organizational forms, procedures and procedures for implementation, control measures, basic requirements and restrictions on public control, guarantees of implementation and other legal provisions. It was stated that some of the bills are being discussed in the committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, but some of them were rejected after the first reading. The main shortcomings of the bills submitted for discussion to the legislature are the inconsistency of certain legal provisions of the bills with current laws, ambiguity in defining certain procedures and procedures for public control, non-compliance of some projects with anti-corruption legislation, conceptual errors and other legislative omissions. It is noted that scientists do not actually analyze bills directly, but several publications mention the adoption of such bills, indicate the presence of gaps and shortcomings in them, offer indicative content versions of bills that will help improve them.
