Analysis of The Application of Giving Rewards to Improving Social Science Learning Outcomes For Elementary School Students

Education remains linked to human life, using experiences that provide understanding and insight to develop. Giving rewards is one of the educational tools used to improve student learning outcomes in class. The goal of the reward system is to make students more attentive and focused during lessons. Good intentions towards IPAS can encourage students to study in order to obtain good learning results. It is hoped that giving rewards can be used as a strategy to improve student learning outcomes in science courses. This research uses literature study or field work as an investigative method. The data used in this research comes from the results of analysis of several articles, journals, books and articles related to research variables. In addition, this research uses a descriptive-analytic approach to examine the relationship between the learning outcomes of science and science students in basic education and the award system through a review of previous research publications. According to this research, a consistent reward system can improve student learning outcomes in science and technology subjects in elementary schools.

A taxonomy of factors that contribute to organizational Cybersecurity Awareness (CSA)

Purpose Developing cybersecurity awareness (CSA) is becoming a more and more important goal for modern organizations. CSA is a complex sociotechnical system where social, technical and organizational aspects affect each other in an intertwined way. With the goal of providing a holistic representation of CSA, this paper aims to develop a taxonomy of factors that contribute to organizational CSA. Design/methodology/approach The research used a design science approach including a literature review and practitioner interviews. A taxonomy was drafted based on 71 previous research publications. It was then updated and refined in two iterations of interviews with domain experts. Findings The result of this research is a taxonomy which outline six domains for importance for organization CSA. Each domain includes several activities which can be undertaken to increase CSA within an organization. As such, it provides a holistic overview of the CSA field. Practical implications Organizations can adopt the taxonomy to create a roadmap for internal CSA practices. For example, an organization could assess how well it performs in the six main themes and use the subthemes as inspiration when deciding on CSA activities. Originality/value The output of this research provides an overview of CSA based on information extracted from existing literature and then reviewed by practitioners. It also outlines how different aspects of CSA are interdependent on each other.

Occupational Risk Factor for Carpel Tunnel Syndrome Related to Computer Usage: A Descriptive Cross-Sectional Study

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is triggered by compression of the median nerve as it travels through the wrist's carpal tunnel. CTS is also more likely to occur if you work in certain occupations such as Related with clerical and administrative work on Computer. Objective: To identify the frequency and pattern of CTS among clerical and administrative workers using computer. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was started from October 2021 to January 2022 between 20-50 years of age at five Private colleges in Lahore city. The participants fulfilling the inclusion criterion were using computer for more than 6 hours a day, having co-operative attitude, weren’t taking any analgesics and had no associated co-morbidities. After informed consent 200 participants were enrolled using convenient sampling method. Sample size was calculated by taking average from previous research publications. A designed questionnaire was given among the participants to obtain information about demographics and Phalen’s test for CTS. Data were entered and analyzed in SPSS version 21.0. Results: The Results shows that 5 participants have Positive CTS in 20-30, 10 in 31-40, 14 in 41-50 age group. Positive CTS was considered positive via Phalen’s Test. Males have higher frequency of CTS as 21 Males and 8 Females with Positive Phalen’s test. Conclusions: CTS is related with an occupational factor in terms of computer usage. It is common in males because of excess workload and job duties

Penerapan AI dalam Pembelajaran untuk Meningkatkan Kualitas Pendidikan di SMAN 3 Bukitinggi

The basis of this research is that, despite advances in the world, including the development of technology and artificial intelligence at SMA Negeri 3 Bukittinggi, educators are unable to use these tools and often deliver content in traditional ways. To improve the quality of education for students, teachers, and SMA Negeri 3 Bukittinggi, the school must keep up with the development of technology and artificial intelligence. This is a challenge for SMA Negeri 3 Bukittinggi to develop, so it is very important for schools to apply technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in the teaching and learning process. The research approach used in this research is qualitative research, which includes observation, interviews, field observations, and searching for research data on previous research publications that are in accordance with the topic that the researcher raises. The findings of this research show that educational institutions have felt the impact of technological advances and artificial intelligence (AI) and have utilized it to improve the teaching and learning process. One of the many conveniences and advantages of using AI is to make it easier for teachers and improve education standards. To improve education standards successfully and efficiently, education workers are finding that technological advancements and artificial intelligence are helpful in the teaching and learning process.

Governance for Sustainable Development for Nickel Project in Indonesia

The paper investigates the governance and administrative process in the nickel project in Indonesia and offers suggestions to apply governance for sustainable development concept for creating an eco-mobility industry in Indonesia. This paper is a case study using qualitative methodology and governance for sustainable development theoretical framework. In applying qualitative methodology, this paper is supported by previous research publications, local press publications, and interviews. The governance for sustainable development is used as a strategic guideline in mining project to develop Indonesia’s eco-mobility industry further. This paper has three findings. First, the nickel project in Indonesia is part of bilateral cooperation between Indonesia with the National Strategic Program and China with the Belt and Road Initiative program. Thus, the concept of governance is not only applied in domestic policy but also bilateral cooperation. Second, non-technical issues have been identified during the governance and administrative process of nickel project in Indonesia. The governance concept must be applied to resolve the project’s non-technical problems and make it sustainable. Third, all the governance stakeholders in the nickel project must adopt a sustainable governance development framework. Indonesia should avoid further setback and refrain from the previous oil-booming phenomenon in the 1970s. The governance sustainable development concept requires all the stakeholders in the mining project to cooperate inclusively. It comprises extraction, production, recycling-waste management, e-vehicle industry, social acceptance, and rehabilitating the environment (land, air, water, and the living beings) affected by mining activities. This paper highlights Indonesia’s experience in creating an eco-mobility industry, using the nickel project as the key driver under investigation.

Paleobiology of Pleistocene large land mammals from the Brazilian Pampa

The southern Brazilian Pleistocene fauna exhibited a rich diversity of large mammalian herbivores, which are now extinct or locally extinct. In this study, we employed stable isotope analysis to investigate the past ecology of these animals. Specifically, we examined the carbonate fraction of bones and teeth and utilized compiled carbon and oxygen isotopic ratios from previous research publications. The δ13C values indicated that most specimens inhabited grassland environments, which aligns with environmental reconstructions based on pollen records of the “Campos” region. The dominant food resource for these herbivores consisted of C3 photosynthesizers, mainly cool-season grasses. This preference can be attributed to the higher abundance and nutritional quality of cool-season grasses compared with warm-season grasses employing C4 photosynthesis. The variability in δ18O values within and between taxa may suggest a seasonal climate. Based on these findings, we conclude that the environmental changes during the Pleistocene-Holocene transition were detrimental to the survival of these large herbivores.

The Proposed Research Framework of Organizational Agility

Organizational agility is the ability of an organization to respond to organizational dynamics. This paper applies a systematic literature review (SLR) based on the PRISMA protocol and theory-context-characteristic-methodology (TCCM) analysis to find research gaps and construct a research framework concerning organizational agility. By reviewing previous research publications with the following criteria: quantitative research documents indexed by Scopus as journals; in the subject area of Business, Management, and Accounting; written across 2005‒2020 in English and downloadable in full text; and empirical studies using structural equation modeling in data processing presents several research gaps. A research framework proposal is compiled concerning these research gaps, comprising 14 propositions. The proposed research framework of organizational agility is expected to provide the basis for future empirical studies.

Study on the Flexural Strength of Polypropylene Fiber Reinforced M20 Grade Self-Compacting Bacterial Concrete

Aim: This study’s objective is to determine how polypropylene fibre impacts self-healing concrete’s flexural strength. Materials and Methods: Investigation was divided into two groups, with each group preparing 18 samples with Gpower (80 percent). Group-1 denotes conventional self-healing bacterial concrete, while Group-2 denotes polypropylene fibre reinforced self-healing bacterial concrete. The number of samples was determined using clinical software and values taken from previous research publications. The independent sample T-test, performed using SPSS software version 21, demonstrates a substantial increase in the flexural strength of the fibre reinforced self-healing concrete. Result: In comparison to conventional self-healing bacterial concrete, polypropylene fibre reinforced self-healing bacterial concrete has a 19% higher flexural strength. The significance of the events was 0.354 (p>0.05), indicating that there was no significant statistical difference. The flexural strength of polypropylene reinforced bacterial concrete had a standard deviation of 0.79623. Conclusion: According to the findings of this experiment, M20 grade self-healing bacterial concrete reinforced with polypropylene fibre has a stronger flexural strength than regular self-healing bacterial concrete.

Juxtaposition as literary feature in Psalm 116

Identifying literary devices used in the (Hebrew) Old Testament serves as an aid to the understanding of a particular passage. In this contribution, juxtaposition as a literary device in Psalm 116 was investigated. A brief overview of the main problems in the research history of the Psalm is given, highlighting the date and composition, as well as the enigmatic verse 15. Drawing on other definitions of the term juxtaposition, the term was defined as a literary device used to imply comparison and especially contrast. In the rest of the article, juxtaposition as a literary device in this Psalm was investigated and eight different modes of juxtaposition were identified. It is argued that juxtaposition is the dominating and most prominent literary device that occurs in the Psalm. Finally, the contribution that the identification of juxtaposition as literary device makes to the understanding of this Psalm, was briefly discussed. Methodologically, the literary feature of juxtaposition was demonstrated through a careful reading of the text of Psalm 116. Once that was done, it became apparent that juxtaposition plays an important part in this psalm. The juxtaposition is of death versus life: it is an experience of the absence of YHWH in a Sheol-like situation in juxtapposition to the presence of YHWH in the temple; the temporal shift between present and past and the juxtaposition between the individual believer vis-à-vis the community of believers, all adds up to the conclusion that the Psalm displays a coherent unity, exactly because of the literary device of juxtaposition. Reading Scripture with a sensitivity to the literary devices that may be detected in passages of Scripture, is a rewarding exercise. It opens new possibilities to explore the meaning(s) these ancient texts have also for modern-day readers of the Bible.Contribution: Although juxtaposition as literary device has been pointed out in previous research publications on Psalm 116, the specific contribution of this article is to demonstrate that juxtaposition is the dominating literary device in the psalm. Psalm 116 has been seen in the past as a disunity made up of incoherent parts. The frequent occurrence of juxtaposition throughout the psalm adds to the unity of the psalm. Recognising juxtaposition as the dominating literary device adds new light on the theological meaning of the psalm and this fits in well with the focus of In die Skriflig to come to a better understanding of the Bible.

Experimental development and optimization of a standing wave thermoacoustic refrigerator using additive manufactured stacks

While many previous research publications focused on developing simple and inexpensive acoustic refrigerator prototypes, the current state of play in the field reveals the need to elaborate robust and replicable facilities for experimental and test purposes. In this context, the present article justifies the importance of an economical and technologically simple process demonstrator. The construction of an experimental Thermo-Acoustic Refrigerator (TAR), employing an acoustic-to-thermal energy conversion cycle, is further described. Setup's repeatability and replicability and results' robustness were primarily addressed, while innovative techniques for stack production and optimization were also proposed. The success of experiments in terms of optimization and reproducibility was validated via the temperature gradients obtained. The adequacy of experimental results was verified by comparing them with a numerical simulation using the DeltaEC software.

Interactive Simulation on Modern Physics: A Systematic Review

Physics is a theoretical science, understanding the concepts requires actual visual representations and models. Physics instructors should teach physics using inquiry, discovery, demonstration, simulation, practical work, lab-based activities, and other practical experiences. The current status of knowledge and practice regarding interactive simulation in the teaching of modern physics is presented in this systematic literature review. By methodically evaluating and summarizing the most pertinent previous research publications published from December 2002 to January 2022, it offers guidance for instructional designers and scholars. After careful consideration and screening, a total of eleven studies were chosen for a thorough analysis and synthesis. The results showed that the objective of the research studies on using interactive simulation in modern physics is to enhance students' critical thinking skills and creative problem-solving skills. It has been demonstrated that interactive simulation technologies like Java applets and Physics Education Technology (PhET) are successful at teaching modern physics. The success or failure of employing interactive simulation is influenced by teachers, school staff, students, simulation design, and technology used. The findings imply that educational institutions should provide teachers and administrators with tutorials and training, and this review recommend that the interactive simulation should be available and that a gadget-friendly simulation must be developed.

Attitude, knowledge, and barriers towards research analysis and writing in Saudi Arabia.

ABSTRACTBackground:Conducting research requires the integration of certain levels of practice and knowledge, together with the right attitude. This study aimed to investigate the attitude, knowledge, and barriers regarding research analysis and writing among medical residents in Saudi ArabiaMethods:This was an online-based cross-sectional study that was conducted in Saudi Arabia. Our targeted population was Saudi medical residents who were enrolled in the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. Data were analyzed and compared to determine associations between the patients’ demographics and attitude, knowledge, and barriersResults:A total of 218 participants were ultimately included in the present study, with a mean age of 29 (± 2.6) years, and most participants (63.3%) had a previous research publication. Specialty and level of residency were the only significant factors that were associated with attitude (P = 0.023 and 0.046, respectively). Specialty and having previously published a research paper were the only factors that were associated with the knowledge scores (P = 0.001 and 0.0001, respectively). On the contrary, specialty was the only significant factor that was associated with barriers scores (P = 0.001). Regarding attitude scores, most residents (60.1%) had 26%–50%, while only 0.9% had >75% of the total score. Regarding knowledge scores, 38.1% of residents had ≤25% and only 7.8% had >75% of the total scores. Regarding barriers, most residents (73.4%) had 26%–50%, while none had >75% of the total scoresConclusion:Reduced awareness regarding research methodology in our population implies that further education measures should be undertaken.

Methods of mapping the lands disturbed by mining operations and accuracy of cartographic images obtained from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles: A review

Purpose. Analyzing the land disturbance consequences caused by surface mining operations and methods for mapping these lands, as well as studying the accuracy of point coordinates of digital images obtained from materials of aerial photographic surveys using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Performing a quantitative assessment of the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of point coordinates on cartographic images and determining the dependences of the RMSE of point coordinates on the photogrammetric parameters. Methods. The review of previous research publications within the framework of the presented subject is performed in the following sequence: analysis of ecosystem disbalance as a result of surface mining operations; based on previous studies, collecting the data for quantitative assessment of accuracy in the form of RMSE of point coordinates on cartographic images obtained from the materials of aerial photographic survey using UAVs; statistical study of the relationship between the RMSE and photographic survey parameters. Findings. The methods for mapping the disturbed lands to return them to their natural state after the consequences of surface mining operations are presented, based on a review of previous research publications on the subject of the work. According to the previous studies, the RMSE of point coordinates of cartographic images has been systematized, and, based on this, the accuracy of topographic plans has been determined for them. Statistical studies of the relationship between the quantitative assessment of the RMSE (xy) and RMSE (z) accuracy in relation to the photographic survey parameters have been performed. In addition, the scattering diagrams of the correlation dependence and the range of RMSE relative frequency have been presented. Originality. Based on a critical analysis of previous studies on the lack of quantitative accuracy regulation of cartographic images obtained from aerial photographic survey using UAVs, the RMSE systematics has been performed in terms of the photographic survey height. Based on this, the accuracy of topographic plans, the relative frequency of horizontal and vertical distribution of errors, the mean value and the root mean square error (σ) have been determined. Practical implications. The systematics of the RMSE values of cartographic image point coordinates for certain photographic survey parameters and the scale of topographic images makes it possible to take this into account in the project of aerial photographic survey using UAVs of lands for various purposes, as well as to choose the height and photographic equipment according to the required accuracy.

Skills Assessment Criteria for Aircraft Maintenance Technician in the Context of Industrial Revolution 4.0

Professional certification is required for aircraft maintenance technicians in order to undertake sophisticated maintenance tasks that need a wide set of skills and competencies. Due to the increasing demand for workforce preparedness for Industrial Revolution 4.0, numerous publications stress only a subset of aircraft maintenance skills criteria in their skills assessment curriculum. The purpose of this paper is to review previous research publications on skill and competency evaluation in the aircraft maintenance industry in order to develop a comprehensive set of skill and competency assessment criteria through a systematic review of the literature. It applies the PRISMA approach in selecting and evaluating the included articles. The papers were retrieved from five journal databases using a set of Boolean search terms related. The filtered fifteen articles are systematically reviewed for talent evaluation criteria applicable to the aircraft maintenance work scope in order to deal with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0). Certain articles concentrate on a subset of assessment criteria for enhancing and tracking critical skills assessment criteria for the aircraft maintenance workforce, rather than on IR4.0 skill standards specifically. This paper summarizes seven skill criteria gathered in order to develop a comprehensive skill assessment framework for aircraft maintenance workforce.

Comparison of Cancer Waiting Time Targets in Urology, Pre-COVID Era, and during the COVID Era – A Single-Center Experience

Objectives: The objective of this study is to measure the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on treatment targets for urgent urology cases in our hospital and compare it with previous research publications. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively collected and analyzed data over 10 months for 2 consecutive years. The data were analyzed from April to October in 2019 and 2020. This includes all suspected cancer. We collected a total number of referrals, time to the first consultation, and time of first definitive treatment. Results: The total number of patients referred in 2019 pre-COVID was 478 as compared to 278 in the subsequent year at the time of the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic. A total number of 118 cancers were detected in 2019 which makes up 24.6% of the total patients referred. Forty-one patients received treatment >62 days. This is 41 (34.7%) of the cancers or 8.5% of the referrals. Similarly, 60 patients were detected with cancer in 2020 making up 22.2% of the total referrals. Nineteen patients received treatment >62 days. This equates to 31.6% of the cancers or 7% of the total referrals. Conclusion: During the COVID-19 pandemic peak, though we did see a slight improvement in the total number of patients breached for their targeted dates of cancer treatment, this is largely due to the significant reduction of around 44% in the total number of referrals. This data also strengthens other large studies for other cancers which show a significantly lower number of patients being referred for cancer diagnosis.

Maqasid As-Sharia Hifz Al-Bi'ah in Responding to the Policy of the Cement Factory In Pati

This article discusses the policy on the plan to build a cement factory in Pati Regency which triggered a long conflict between PT Sahabat Mulia Saktin as the corporation, the Pati Regency Government, and the society around the Kendeng Mountains in Pati, which was analyzed interdisciplinary based on the approach of public policy reasoning and maqashid sharia hifzu al-bi' ah. The academic problem in this study is that, there are differences basic paradigms behind the actions of each of these parties. This research is a literature study with a qualitative-descriptive method. The data are taken from previous research publications, online news as well as trusted online sites. Meanwhile, in the analysis process the method of Miles and Huberman is use maximally. The results of the analysis process concluded that the genealogy of the public policy formulation process was carried out starting from the agenda setting (2010), legitimacy and formalization (2010 – 2011), implementation (2011 – 2014), and, policy evaluation (2015-present). By using maqashid sharia hifzu al-bi'ah reasoning, it is concluded objectively and neutrally that policies tend to lead to claims of mafsadah (badness). A recommendation worth considering is the initiation of the ijtihad jama'i forum by presenting expert sources in various relevant fields, far from political interests and subjectivity, so that alternative benefits are formulated for the phenomenon of policy and conflict in cement factories.

Factors that Influence the Individual Research Output of University Professors: The Case of Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia

The study analyzed the factors that influence the individual research output of university professors in Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia, using multinomial logistic regression technique. Results showed that previous research publications are the main factor that explains subsequent research production. Age, academic rank, time invested on research, resource allocation, recognition, and research leaders have also a direct effect on research output. A comprehensive model is proposed and implications for universities authorities are discussed.

Antilithiatic effect of C. dactylon, E. officinalis, K. pinnata, and B. nutans ethyl acetate fraction on glyoxylate-induced nephrolithiasis

BackgroundThe plants Cynodon dactylon (C. dactylon), Emblica officinalis (E. officinalis), Kalanchoe pinnata (K. pinnata), and Bambusa nutans (B. nutans) have been reported to possess diuretic and antiurolithiatic potential against ethylene glycol and ammonium chloride along with in vitro calcium oxalate (CaOx) crystal growth inhibition property. Our previous research publications reported a rich presence of antioxidative phytocompounds like polyphenols and flavonoids in ethyl acetate fractions of these plants. This present study aims to explore antiurolithiatic potential of C. dactylon, E. officinalis, K. pinnata, and B. nutans ethyl acetate fraction following 7 days of sodium glyoxalate treatment on mice.ResultsSodium glyoxylate treatment caused significant (P < 0.01–0.001) reduction in the urine magnesium and creatinine and elevation in oxalate, citrate, calcium, and phosphate levels. Ethyl acetate fraction of K. pinnata and B. nutans showed a highly significant antilithiatic effect by increasing urine volume, normalizing disrupted urine parameters, increasing LDH level, and decreasing kidney tissue oxalate content. E. officinalis and K. pinnata ethyl acetate fraction treatment showed a pronounced reversal of tubular dilation and damage of epithelial cell in kidney tissue with very less inflammatory cell infiltration.ConclusionThe results signify the protective effect of K. pinnata and B. nutans ethyl acetate fraction rich with polyphenol and flavonoid on glyoxylate induced oxidative cell damage and morphological changes in mouse kidneys.

Systematic Review on the Attributes of Resident Satisfaction Measurement in the Facility Management Context

Resident satisfaction with the building maintenance services rendered by the property management company is vital to the quality of people's life in the residential buildings. Resident satisfaction measurement generally depends on the service quality of the building maintenance services offered by the property management company. However, there were too many attributes that have influenced resident satisfaction, as highlighted in previous research. In fact, some of them were duplicated and redundant. Thus, the aim of this paper is to identify and simplify the attributes that contribute to resident satisfaction in the building maintenance services. For this purpose, the researchers carried out a systematic review of the most recent articles from 2009 to 2019. Researchers also have considered a few articles before 2009 with the opinion that articles were useful to support the present study. Researchers conducted content analysis by systematically analysing and reviewing previous research publications on service quality dimensions used for users' satisfaction measurement in the facility management context. Past researches have reported on 45 service quality dimensions that have been considered for users' satisfaction evaluation in the facility management field. The findings showed that the identified attributes suggested in the previous works in the facility management field were for a specific and different types of building. In this paper, the researchers suggest a comprehensive range of 18 service quality dimensions including cleanliness, general maintenance and assurance service quality dimension that are useful for measuring resident satisfaction with building maintenance services of the high-rise residential buildings. This finding will benefit the property management companies with valuable information on the attributes that they could rely on to measure resident satisfaction towards building maintenance services. In fact, it provides a clear understanding of service quality dimensions and facilitates future researchers on the appropriate attributes to be considered in evaluating resident satisfaction with the high-rise residential building maintenance services in their future research.

Software Programming with Lumbar Spine Cadaveric Specimens for Computational Biomedical Applications

This contribution deals with demonstration of software-computational methods (CAD) to digitalize, simulate, and fit mathematically the anterior vertebral body morphometry of cadaveric lumbar spines. From previous research publications, computational techniques are developed and explained. Based on anatomical-cadaveric spinal specimens, experimental data was implemented to obtain practical surgical applications. With these anatomical samples, large sets of surface digital points were generated. Complete anterior vertebral body morphologies were visualized and analyzed with designed software-engineering. Selection method for extraction of Regions of Interest (ROIs) is presented. Applications of Lumbar anterior, vertebras, and intervertebral disks surfaces, are explained. Further biomedical anatomical analysis applications are included. Results comprise realistic anatomical representations of lumbar spine. Important applications in computational design, surgical robotics, and optimization of surgery tools and techniques are presented.
