Two new pregnane glycosides (1–2) and two known cholestane glycosides (3–4) were obtained from the whole plant Reineckia carnea. Their structures were characterized by physicochemical properties and spectroscopic methods, as (17, 20-S-trans)-5β-pregn-16-en-1β, 3β-ol-20-one 1-O-β-d-xylopyranosyl-(1→2)-α-l-rhamnopyranoside 3-O-α-l-rhamnopyranoside (1), (17, 20-S-trans)-pregna-5, 16-dien-3β-ol-20-one 3-O-β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1→2)-O-[β-d-xylopyranosyl-(1→3)]-O-β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-O-β-d-galactopyranoside (2), (22S)-cholest-1β, 3β, 16β, 22-tetraol 1-O-β-d-glucopyrannoside 16-O-β-d-glucopyrannoside (3), and (22S)-cholest-1β, 3β, 16β, 22-tetraol 1-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-d-glucopyrannoside 16-O-β-d-glucopyrannoside (4). In addition, their cytotoxic activity against human A549 tumor cells was evaluated by MTT method with 1–4 exhibited cytotoxicity with IC50 values of 87.7μmoll−1, 41.2μmoll−1, 46.6μmoll−1, and 49.5μmoll−1, respectively.
