S. D. Wilkins, a Charter Member of the Poultry Science Association, died in Albany, California, November 9, at the age of 86.He served as Instructor of Poultry Husbandry at the University of California, Davis, in 1911, after attending a course at Cornell University, and was the first individual to do work with poultry at Davis. In 1917 he enrolled for the two year diploma in the School of Agriculture, University of Minnesota. From 1918 to 1921 he was employed as Special Analyst in the Animal Nutrition Section, Division of Agricultural Biochemistry, University of Minnesota. Later he worked with the Purina Company, St. Louis, Missouri.He was a member of Sigma Xi.
