Abstract: Our research delves into the creation of a Virtual Fitness Trainer using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to offer personalized workout guidance and real-time feedback. This project harnesses advanced computer vision, machine learning, and natural language processing techniques to develop an intelligent system capable of accurately detecting human poses, tracking exercise repetitions, and providing corrective feedback. Utilizing Python's OpenCV library to capture live webcam feeds, processed by MediaPipe's BlazePose tool for precise pose estimation, our application employs a novel topology with 33 keypoints, enhancing the accuracy of body movement analysis. The frontend interface, designed with Flask, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap, ensures an intuitive user experience, allowing selection from various exercises such as squats, curls, jumping jacks, push-ups, lateral raises, and pull-ups. Each exercise page offers detailed instructions and demonstration videos for correct technique execution. The system processes live video streams frame-by-frame, converting them into formats suitable for pose analysis and accuracy assessment. BlazePose tracks user movements in real-time, displaying a 33-keypoint exoskeleton via OpenCV, aiding in understanding body movements and tracking progress through repetition counts. The system also provides real-time feedback on exercise form, suggesting corrective actions to optimize the workout and minimize injury risks. Our Virtual Fitness Trainer addresses the limitations of existing fitness apps by enabling accurate, independent home workouts, bridging the gap left by the absence of gyms and personal trainers. It highlights AI's potential in fitness, with future advancements expected to enhance gesture recognition, adaptive workout plans, and integration with biometric data from wearables. Advanced Neuromorphic Applications Enabled by Synaptic Ion-Gating Vertical Transistors.

Bioinspired synaptic devices have shown great potential in artificial intelligence and neuromorphic electronics. Low energy consumption, multi-modal sensing and recording, and multifunctional integration are critical aspects limiting their applications. Recently, a new synaptic device architecture, the ion-gating vertical transistor (IGVT), has been successfully realized and timely applied to perform brain-like perception, such as artificial vision, touch, taste, and hearing. In this short time, IGVTs have already achieved faster data processing speeds and more promising memory capabilities than many conventional neuromorphic devices, even while operating at lower voltages and consuming less power. This work focuses on the cutting-edge progress of IGVT technology, from outstanding fabrication strategies to the design and realization of low-voltage multi-sensing IGVTs for artificial-synapse applications. The fundamental concepts of artificial synaptic IGVTs, such as signal processing, transduction, plasticity, and multi-stimulus perception are discussed comprehensively. The contribution draws special attention to the development and optimization of multi-modal flexible sensor technologies and presents a roadmap for future high-end theoretical and experimental advancements in neuromorphic research that are mostly achievable by the synaptic IGVTs.

This review aims to delve into the role of artificial intelligence in medicine. Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) characterized by superficial mucosal inflammation, rectal bleeding, diarrhoea and abdominal pain. By identifying the challenges inherent in UC diagnosis, we seek to highlight the potential impact of artificial intelligence on enhancing both diagnosis and treatment methodologies for this condition. A targeted, non-systematic review of literature relating to ulcerative colitis was undertaken. The PubMed and Scopus databases were searched to categorize a well-rounded understanding of the field of artificial intelligence and its developing role in the diagnosis and treatment of ulcerative colitis. Articles that were thought to be relevant were included. This paper only included articles published in English. Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to computer algorithms capable of learning, problem solving and decision-making. Throughout our review, we highlighted the role and importance of artificial intelligence in modern medicine, emphasizing its role in diagnosis through AI-assisted endoscopies and histology analysis and its enhancements in the treatment of ulcerative colitis. Despite these advances, AI is still hindered due to its current lack of adaptability to real-world scenarios and its difficulty in widespread data availability, which hinders the growth of AI-led data analysis. When considering the potential of artificial intelligence, its ability to enhance patient care from a diagnostic and therapeutic perspective shows signs of promise. For the true utilization of artificial intelligence, some roadblocks must be addressed. The datasets available to AI may not truly reflect the real-world, which would prevent its impact in all clinical scenarios when dealing with a spectrum of patients with different backgrounds and presenting factors. Considering this, the shift in medical diagnostics and therapeutics is coinciding with evolving technology. With a continuous advancement in artificial intelligence programming and a perpetual surge in patient datasets, these networks can be further enhanced and supplemented with a greater cohort, enabling better outcomes and prediction models for the future of modern medicine.

This manuscript explores the current adoption and perceptions of AI among professionals in the realm of cosmetic dermatology and plastic surgery, utilizing insights from the IMCAS Congress 2024 attendees. A survey employing a digital questionnaire with 14 questions was distributed among attendees of the IMCAS Congress 2024 to evaluate their familiarity with AI, usage in clinical practice, perceived advantages, and concerns regarding data privacy and security. The survey revealed that a majority of respondents are familiar with AI's potential in cosmetic medicine, yet there is a notable discrepancy between awareness and actual application in practice. Concerns over data privacy and a pronounced need for further training were also highlighted. Despite recognizing AI's benefits in cosmetic medicine, significant barriers such as data privacy concerns and the need for more comprehensive training resources must be addressed. Enhancing education on AI-applications and developing strategies to mitigate privacy risks are imperative for leveraging AI's full potential in improving patient care and outcome in cosmetic medicine.
