PORTFOLIO ASSESSMENT BASED INSTRUCTION IN TEACHING WRITING FOR SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL IN MAKASSAR

The objectives of this research were to find out whether or not the use of portfolio assessment based instruction improves the students’ writing skill. This research employed Experimental Research design. The sample consisted of 36 students of grade X SMA Negeri 5 Makassar academic year of 2022/2023. The data were collected through the instruments: writing test for the students’ writing skill. Data on the students’ writing skill were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the research were: the use of portfolio assessment based instruction in teaching writing improved the students writing skill. The mean score of students in post-test (2.8) was higher than pre-test (1.6) or increased 1.2 points. These conditions show that there was the improvement of students’ achievement in writing toward the application of portfolio assessment in ELT, particularly in the students’ writing class. It can be concluded that the use of portfolio assessment based is effective to be implemented in improving the students’ writing skills.

Exploring the Correlation between Conceptual Understanding and Creativity Using Google Sites in Physics Learning

This study is one of the first to explore the potential of Google Sites as an interactive medium to simultaneously enhance conceptual understanding and creativity in physics education. The research aimed to determine the relationship between conceptual understanding and students' creativity. This study was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Narmada with the research subjects being students of class XI MIPA 5. Data were collected using a test instrument. The correlation test analysis was conducted based on the results of the students' pretest and posttest. The results showed that the average pretest and posttest of students were obtained respectively of 39.80 and 84.71 for conceptual understanding and 36.76 and 80.91 for creativity. The analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between conceptual understanding and students' creativity, with a sig. (2-tailed) value of <0.001. The correlation coefficient was 0.567 for the pretest, indicating a moderate strength of relationship, and 0.787 for the posttest, suggesting a strong relationship. These findings suggest that integrating Google Sites into physics learning can effectively foster both conceptual understanding and creativity, potentially offering a scalable solution for improving critical educational outcomes.

The Influence of the "Mading Pintar" Group Investigation Learning Model on Primary School Student Learning Outcomes

Abstract This research aims to see whether the "Mading Pintar" group investigation learning model positively impacts student learning outcomes. This research uses a quantitative approach, pre-experimental design, one-group pretest, and post-test design. Samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The data collection instrument was an unstructured interview sheet addressed to the homeroom teacher of class IV A with 8 questions to collect information. A test sheet with 14 questions was given to class IV A students to determine the learning outcomes of pretest and posttest students, and a Guttman scale questionnaire sheet with 15 questions, Yes (1 point )and No (0 points) was given to class IV A students to see the effectiveness of using the group investigation learning model. "Smart Mading". The validity and reliability test is an initial stage analysis with 20 questions before and 14 questions after being tested. The pretest normality test obtained a value of 0.017 < 0.05 and the posttest 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the pretest and posttest values ​​were not normally distributed. Apart from that, the final stage analysis of the Wilcoxon test obtained a significance value of Asymp. sig.(2-tailed) 0.001 < 0.05 that the hypothesis was accepted. Meanwhile, the one sample t-test obtained 65.71%, including the "Effective" criteria. So it can be concluded that the "Mading Pintar" group investigation learning model can improve student learning outcomes and is effective for use in the learning process.

The Effect of Project-Based Learning on Critical Thinking Skills of Elementary School Students

Students’ critical thinking skills are still relatively low at SDN 34 Palembang, marked by the low results of the pretest held in this research activity. This indicates that it is necessary to make learning innovations that can encourage students’ critical thinking skills, one of which is project-based learning. This research activity was conducted at SDN 34 Palembang in class VI with science subjects with a total of 30 students. This research activity was carried out to add insight into interactive learning used for students’ critical thinking skills, one of which is project-based learning. Based on the research that has been conducted on the application of project-based learning, it is obtained that students, after receiving this learning, can improve students’ critical thinking skills, marked by higher student posttest results than pretest results, with 86% of students achieving essential skills of thinking indicators.

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF INQUIRY-BASED LEARNING ON STUDENTS LISTENING COMPREHENSION AT ELEVENTH GRADE OF SMA N 1 JATILAWANG, BANYUMAS

Listening comprehension is substantial understanding the meaning of English spoken which had various challenges to education. This research aimed to find out the effect of inquiry-based learning on students listening comprehension at eleventh grade of SMA N 1 Jatilawang, Banyumas. The study employed quasi-experimental design. The study's population consists of 395 eleventh-grade students at SMA N 1 Jatilawang. The samples were randomly selected from the population. It was selected as the experimental group of XI A and the control group of XI B. The data of collection used pre-test and post-test. Data analyzed by IBM SPSS Program V.26 for Windows. The independent sample t-test establishes a statistically significant distinction in the average pre-test score between the experimental and control groups, with the experimental class scoring 65.37 and the control class scoring 62.33. The Mann-Whitney U Test showed significant differences in post-test students' listening scores between experimental and control groups, with a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000, rejecting the hypothesis of no significance (H0) and accepting the hypothesis of significance (Ha). Therefore, the result of this research can be concluded that the effect size increased 57%, suggested there are differences before and after treatment of inquiry-based learning was highly effective for students listening comprehension.

Effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding worm infestation among mothers of under-five children

Background: Children from low and middle-income nations continue to be primarily affected by worm infections. Development and nutrition may be hampered by an intestinal worm infection. The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding worm infestation among mothers of under-five children. Methods: A pre-experimental one group pre-test and post-test research design was used for the study. The sample selected were 40 mothers of under-five children in a selected area of Pulwama, Kashmir. A self-structured interview schedule was used to assess the knowledge. Results: The collected data was analysed by SPSS. The study findings revealed that the mean knowledge score of nursing students in the pre-test was 16.97 and mean knowledge score of nursing students in the post test was 29.52, with a mean difference of 12.55. In pre-test, 30 (75%) had poor knowledge, 10 (25%) had average knowledge, whereas in the post-test 8 (20%) had poor knowledge, 25 (62.5% had average knowledge and 7 (17.5%) had good knowledge. The present study revealed that there was no significant association between pre-test knowledge score with the selected socio-demographic variables. Conclusions: The study revealed that mean knowledge score of nursing students in post-test was higher than the mean knowledge score of nursing students in the pre-test. The structured teaching programme was effective in improving the knowledge regarding worm infestation among mothers of under-five children.

Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) Berbasis TPACK terhadap Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik Kelas IV pada Mata Pelajaran IPAS SD Negeri 01 Munggur

This study aims to determine the significant effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) based on the Magnet TPACK of SD Negeri 01 Munggur. This research uses a qualitative type of research based on the philosophy of polytheism. The population and sample used for the research were 28 students of class IV of SD Negeri 01 Munggur. The technique used in selecting the sample was purposive sampling. This research utilizes the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. In this design, before the treatment is given, a pre-test (alwall test) is given before the treatment is given and after the treatment is given, a post-test (final test) is given. Data collection techniques using observation, tests and documentation. Based on the results of the study, the conclusion is that there is a significant use of the Problem Balsed Lealing model of learning based on TPACK in class IV of SD N 01 Munggur. The effect of the PBL learning model based on TPACK on the learning outcomes of IPALS in class IV before the treatment was given, the maximum score was 90, while the minimum score was 45. The mean score was 63.92, the median was 62.5. Data analysis results using palired salmpel t-tes it is known that the mean value it is known that the mean pretest value of students 57,6 while the mean posttest for students was 63.92. The results of the statistical test with the crossed sample t-test recognize the effect of the Problem Balsed Learning (PBL) model based on TPACK Regarding the learning outcomes of grade IV students in the subject of science at SD Negeri 01 Munggur, it was found that based on the paired sample t-test table, the significant value (2 tallies) 0.000 <0.05 indicated that there was a difference between the initial and final variables(pretest & posttest), this proves that there is a significant effect on the difference in the need for calcualn given for the variable.

DOKTER KECIL: STUDENT EMPOWERMENT THROUGH LEARNING FIRST AID SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE

Introduction: Knowledge and skills of simple first aid are packaged by the UKS program through the role of Dokter Kecil. Interactive learning using video, demonstration and simulation activities has increased first aid knowledge and skills in primary school students. The aim of this community service program was to increase first aid knowledge and skills of wound care, nosebleed and syncope in school age children. Methods: The community service was conducted at SDN Komplek Kenjeran II in Surabaya, Indonesia, involving 40 students from grades 3 to 5. The intervention was provided in a 4-hour session, using video demonstrations and hands-on simulation. Pre-test and post-test questionnaires measured students' knowledge and attitudes before and after the training. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: The demographic characteristics of participants were dominated by the age 10 years (37.5%), in fourth grade (42.5%) and female (62.5%). The average pre-test knowledge score was 65 and pre-test attitude score was 76.4. After doing interactive learning, demonstrations and simulations, the average student post-test score experienced a significant increase, namely 84.5 in the knowledge and 89.7 in the attitude. Conclusion: The Dokter Kecil program significantly improved students’ skills and knowledge in managing wound care, nosebleeds, and syncope. This empowerment program demonstrates the effectiveness of interactive learning in fostering critical first aid skills in school-aged children. Regular updates to the training content are recommended to ensure ongoing relevance and efficacy.

PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA DAKON EDUKATIF BERBASIS PROFIL PELAJAR PANCASILA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR PADA MATERI IDE POKOK PARAGRAF SISWA KELAS V SDN KEMLOKO 01 KECAMATAN NGLEGOK

The study aims to produce educational dakon learning media products based on Pancasila student profiles to improve learning outcomes on the main idea paragraph material for grade V SDN Kemloko 1 Nglegok District which are valid based on material experts and media experts, and are suitable to be used by teachers and students who can improve the learning outcomes of grade V students. This study uses the ADDIE development model. The results of the validity test of the educational dakon product show a level of validity that is very valid and valid with a validation score percentage of 91%, 80% and 80%. The results of the feasibility test of the educational dakon product are very feasible with a percentage of 91.11%. The results of the pretest and posttest of students on the educational dakon product show that the educational dakon media can improve student learning outcomes with the N-gain score obtained reaching 0.45 with a moderate category. Thus, the educational dakon product produced is valid and suitable to be used in learning the main idea paragraph material at grade V.

Improving students’ academic integrity through academic integrity training (AIT) program in higher education

PurposeThe study examines the effectiveness of an academic integrity training program called Academic Integrity Training (AIT) in improving students’ academic integrity among final-year students.Design/methodology/approachThe research design used was one group pretest and posttest (n = 40) students in research proposal courses.FindingsAnalysis with stacking and racking analysis showed a change in the distribution of the Logit Value Person (LVP) and Logit Value Item (LVI) values on the side of the subjects and items used for this study. Testing with a paired sample t-test yielded a value of t = −3.059 and a significance (p) = 0.004, indicating that there was a significant increase in LVP at the pre-test (M = 2.52 & SD = 1.56) and post-test (M = 3.33 & SD = 2.09) in the subject of the study.Practical implicationsThe study results concluded that this academic integrity training program can improve students' academic integrity and is designed and implemented with the right personal approach to suppress academic dishonesty, especially the problem of plagiarism among graduate students submitting thesis proposals.Originality/valueAcademic dishonesty has been a major problem in higher education over the last two decades. Various strategies have been attempted to address the condition, but no program has been found to directly address the problem on the personal order or individuals who do so.

Generative learning activities for online multimedia learning: when summarizing is effective but drawing is not.

The goal of this study is to determine whether two commonly used generative learning activities for text-based lessons-writing a summary or creating a drawing-help students learn from a multimedia lesson involving animations with short text captions without prior training in the generative activities. Students viewed a series of four annotated animations on greenhouse gases. During pauses between the animations, students were asked to generate a written summary, to create a drawing, or to do both, whereas a control group viewed the lesson without any generative learning activities. Students were tested immediately (Experiment 1) or after a one-week delay (Experiment 2). In both experiments, students who produced written summaries scored significantly higher on the posttest than those who engaged in no generative learning activities (d = 0.48 in Experiment 1, d = 0.54 in Experiment 2), but there was no significant difference on the posttest for students who generated drawings compared to those who engaged in no generative learning activities. In addition, those who engaged in drawing and summarizing did not have significantly different posttest performance than those engaged in summarizing alone. We conclude that writing summaries during a highly visual animated lesson is effective for learning, possibly because it encourages students to engage in generative processing during learning more than drawing and we discuss potential reasons for this in the discussion. This work helps extend generative learning theory by pinpointing potential boundary conditions for learning by drawing and learning by summarizing.

Analisis Hasil Evaluasi Program AKM Kelas Kampus Mengajar 7 terhadap Kemampuan Literasi dan Numerasi di SDN Bades 03

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the AKM program of the Teaching Campus Class 7 in improving students' literacy and numeracy skills at SDN Bades 03. The research method used is literature research with a qualitative literature study approach. The data used are the results of the pretest and posttest of students' literacy and numeracy before and after participating in the program. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant improvement in students' numeracy skills, from an average pretest score of 34.4% to 50.1% in the posttest. Meanwhile, the increase in literacy skills, although positive, was relatively small, from 50.1% to 54.6%. These findings show that this program is effective in improving students' basic skills, especially in the aspect of numeracy. Factors supporting the success of the program include interactive teaching methods and support from teachers as well as the use of relevant teaching materials. In conclusion, the AKM Teaching Campus Class 7 program has succeeded in making a positive contribution in improving students' basic competencies, but further evaluation of literacy teaching methods is needed to achieve more optimal results. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of an adaptive and student-centered learning approach to improve the effectiveness of education in primary schools.

Demonstration and discussion teaching methods on attitude and retention of urban and rural students in senior school biology in Yenagoa and Ogbia local government areas of Bayelsa state

The purpose of the study was to investigate effects of demonstration and discussion teaching methods on attitude and retention of urban and rural students in senior school biology in Yenagoa and Ogbia Local Government Areas. Quasi-experimental research design was employed. The population of the study was 6,988 Senior School Two Biology students in Bayelsa State. The sample consisted of 323 Senior School Two students from 23 Senior Secondary Schools in the above Local Government Areas of Bayelsa State. Two research questions and two hypotheses guided the study. Three validated and reliable instructional guides namely Instructional Guide on Demonstration Teaching Method (IGDTM), Discussion Teaching Method Guide (DTMG) and Guide on Lecture Teaching Method (GLTM) were used in training teachers to use the methods of teaching. Standardized Biology Achievement Test (SBAT) was used as a reliable instrument for data collection. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation and z-test statistics. The findings of the study showed no significant difference in retention mean scores of SS2 students in urban and rural schools when taught with demonstration and discussion methods. Also, there was slight increase in attitude of students in pretest and posttest in all the groups but when subjected to z-test analysis, it showed statistically not significant in all the groups. These implied that adequate consideration to teaching methods in biology is crucial to enhancing attitude and retention of students during lessons as school type does not affect students’ attitude nor improve academic achievement.

The Effect of Make a Match Learning Model on Students Mathematics Learning Motivation

The low motivation of students' mathematics learning makes researchers want to know the effect of the Make a Match learning model on students' mathematics learning motivation. The type of research conducted was pre-experimental research with a one group pretest-posttest design. This research was conducted in a class that was selected by random sampling. From the results of data analysis, the average student pretest questionnaire results were obtained 124,45 while the average student posttest questionnaire results are 131,59. From the results of the calculation of the paired sample t-test at the real level ?=0,05 also obtained the value of tcount =5,14 and ttable =2,048. Because tcount > t table then reject H0 and accept H1 which means that students' mathematics learning motivation after applying the Make a Match learning model is better than students' mathematics learning motivation before applying the Make a Match learning model. From these results it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Make a Match learning model on students' mathematics learning motivation.

Development of Teaching Material Based on Massenrempulu Localwisdom for Early Childhood Education in Enrekang Regency

This research is research and development using the ADDIE Model which aims to (1) reveal in detail the need for Massenrempulu local wisdom-based teaching materials for PAUD in Enrekang Regency, (2) describe the validity of Massenrempulu local wisdom-based teaching materials for PAUD in Enrekang Regency, and (3) describes the practicality of teaching materials based on Massenrempulu local wisdom for PAUD in Enrekang Regency. The subjects in this research were TK Negeri Percontohan Enrekang Ragency. The data in this research were obtained from validity tests based on expert opinions, practicality tests based on teacher responses, and effectiveness tests based on the results of pre-test and post-test students' learning motivation. Based on the results of validity, practicality and effectiveness tests, itcan beconcluded that Massenrempulu local wisdom-based teaching materials are valid, practical and effective for use in PAUD in Enrekang Regency.

"EFFECT OF WEBINAR REGARDING IMPACT OF BIOMEDICAL WASTE ON ENVIRONMENT AND IT’S PREVENTION AMONG NOVICE NURSING STUDENTS OF SELECTED COLLEGES OF ODISHA"

Biomedical waste, sometimes known as hospital trash, is created during the treatment of people as well as during biologics research, that contains potentially contagious materials and affect the environment due to improper disposal of waste. As nurses are backbone of the health care delivery system though they are working 24 hours a day. Novice nursing students have less knowledge on impact of biomedical waste on environment& its prevention. The current Pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test research study conducted in 3 nursing colleges of Odisha with 500 first year nursing students who are selected randomly by using convenience sampling technique. The result of the current study revealed that, majority of nursing students in Post-test (77.33%) are having good knowledge than Pre-test knowledge (3.33%).There was a significant mean difference (7.1) exists between pre-post test knowledge score and 0.1 SD difference exists between the pre and post-test. The present study revealed that, there is lack of adequate knowledge among nursing students regarding management of biomedical waste in view of its impact on the different aspects of the environment. The management of biomedical waste should be assessed as soon as possible in order to raise awareness for proper collection, segregation and disposal to prevent contamination of waste towards environment amongfuture nursing officers at their training courses.

THE INFLUENCE OF THE VIDEO CRITIC METHOD ON THE UNDERSTANDING OF MORALS OF CLASS IX STUDENTS OF MTS AL-ITTIHADIYAH PANGKALAN MANSYUR

This research aims to determine the effect of the video criticism method on understanding morals in class IX MTs students. The type of research carried out was quantitative with an experimental method using a One Group Pretest and Post Test Design research design. The population in this study were all IX students of MTs Al Ittihadiyah Pangkalan Mansyur, with a sample selected using the Non Probability Sampling technique, namely class IX Ali, totaling 29 people. The data collection techniques used were pretest and posttest. The results of research using the IBM SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) v.25 data processing program show that the average (mean) post test score was 76.38, while the average (mean) pretest score was 44.14. With the highest pretest score of 55 and post test of 90, the difference in score obtained is 35 (90-55). This shows that the video criticism method is able to improve students' moral understanding very well. Based on the mean difference test with Paired Sample T-test analysis on IBM SPSS Statistics v.25, the sign value (2-tailed) = 0.00 was obtained which was compared with the calculated result of sign a = 0.05 with a confidence level of 95%. From the results of these calculations, the sign is 0.00 ≤ 0.05, which means that H_0 is rejected or H_1 is accepted. Thus, the average student post test score is higher than the average student pretest score.

Efektivitas Layanan Bimbingan Kelompok dalam Meningkatkan Kecerdasan Emosional Siswa

Low emotional intelligence can have negative impacts on yourself and others because you cannot take an appropriate attitude. Therefore, group guidance is very necessary to increase students’ emotional intelligence. The research method used is Quantitative with a Pre-experiment design Experimental method. The reseach subjects 11 students MTsN 11 Agam those selected using Purposive Sampling technique. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of student data analysis after following group guidance 5 times stated that there was a significant difference in scores between the pretest and posttest of students’emotional intelligence after following group guidance.

PENGEMBANGAN MULTIMEDIA PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS UNTUK SISWA KELAS X MENGENAI TEKS NEWS ITEM

This article is based on the development research that aims to develop multimedia of learning English which is attractive and effective for grade X Students about news item text. The development of the multimedia for learning English uses Lee and Owens model. The procedure of developing the multimedia covers four steps. They are: 1) need analysis and assessment, 2) designing multimedia learning, 3) developing and implementing the multimedia, and 4) evaluating the multimedia. The data of this research are compiled any sources i.e. validation result of leaning design expert, subject matter expert and learning media expert. It is also from students as treatment subjects and English lesson teacher. The treatment subjects are 39 students consisting of 3 students for personal treatment, 5 students for small group treatment and 31 students for field treatment. The results of the research show that: 1) developing the Macromedia Flash based multimedia of English learning for Class X was assessed by validators as learning media which is in good category and it is suitable to use. 2) the treatment subjects, students and English teacher gave response and conclusion that the multimedia is attractive for learning English, shown from the result of personal treatment subjects’ questionnaire of 88.7%, the result of small group treatment subjects’ questionnaire of 64.4% and the result of field treatment subjects’ questionnaire of 84.2%, therefore, the average of total treatment subjects’ questionnaire is 79.7%, then 3) this multimedia can be used effectively to achieve learning competencies, proven by the result of increasing score gained by the students in pre-test and post-test which is 72.03%. Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Think-Pair-Share Terhadap Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa SMA Swasta Markus Medan

This research aims to determine whether there is an influence of the think pair share cooperative learning model on students' mathematical communication skills. This research was conducted at SMA Markus Medan. The research method used is a quasi experimental method. The sample in this study consisted of two classes, namely class XI IPA-1 as the experimental class and class XI IPA-2 as the control class. The experimental class uses the think pair share learning model, and the control class uses conventional learning. The average result of the final test score (post-test) for experimental class students was 84.33, while in the control class the average final test score for students was 70.14. In the hypothesis test, the results of the mean difference test (t-test) were obtained with the statistical value > (8,342 > 1,671), which means that there is an influence from the use of the think pair share learning model applied in the experimental class. This indicates that the mathematical communication skills of experimental class students are better than those in the control class.
