Use of Everyone is a Teacher Here to Increase Speaking Ability of Eleventh Grade Students at SMK Negeri 1 Pasarwajo

Problem statement in this research was whether the use of everyone is a teacher here increase students speaking ability on eleventh grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Pasarwajo. Objective in this research was to found out the significant increasing of students speaking ability by using everyone is a teacher here compared using conventional method in class XI students.This research used quasy experimental research with quantitative approach. Population in this research were all eleventh grade students of SMK Negeri Satu Pasarwajo with total population were 64 students. This research used random sampling technique. Data collection in this research was carried out using research instrumen of test. The test was collect administering pre-test, treatment, and post-test. Pre-test and post-test was given to know the students speaking ability before get treatment and after get treatmen. The data obtained in this research were analyzed by descriptive statistic and inferential statistic. Based on the finding of the research, the research obtained the mean value of pretest in Experimental class was 46.66 and the mean value of posttest in Experimental class was 63.57, the mean value of pretest in Control class was 45.57 and the mean value of posttest in Control class was 45.85. The significant value was 0.000, t-count was greater than t-table (8.336>2.021). Based on the result, the researchers conclude that there is an improvement in students’ speaking ability using the method of of everyone is a teacher here.

The Use of Spelling Bee to Improve Students’ English Vocabulary Mastery at SMP Negeri 11 Makassar

This research discussed about “The Use of Spelling Bee to Improve Students’ English Vocabulary Mastery at SMPN 11 Makassar”. The objectives of this research are to find out the improvement and interest of the students’ English vocabulary after using spelling bee. The researcher used quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group design. The population of this research of the seventh year students at SMPN 11 Makassar. It consisted of 40 students which divided into two group of class where 20 students from VII A as experiment class and 20 students from VII B as a control class. The independent variable of this research is spelling bee and the dependent variable of this research was students’ vocabulary mastery. The instrument of this research was vocabulary test used pre-test and post-test. This research used purposive sampling technique. The results of the research showed that score test spelling bee on pre-test in experiment class is 64.80 and score test pre-test in control class is 53.55. The score post-test in experiment class is 78.85 and score post-test in control class is 50.75. Based on the result of the questionnaire, the researcher concluded that H1 was accepted and H0 is rejected it means that using spelling bee was affective to improve the students English vocabulary of the seventh grade students at SMPN 11 Makassar. THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MIND MAPPING STRATEGY ON STUDENTS’SPEAKING ABILITY (LITERATURE STUDY)

This objective of the study is to improve students' speaking skills through the implementation of the mind mapping strategy. This study uses a literature study consisting of several sources, such as primary sources from books and secondary sources from manuscripts and journals. The results of the research that the author did from several sources studied by Asrifal Mirza increased the score which post-test experiment was higher (mean 69.05) while the mean of post-test control class was 57.11. Researcher tati rahmawati on his journal So it can be seen from the result of the first cycle, in this test we can know that the highest score was 88, the lowest score was 56 and the average of students' score was 71.7, for the second cycle the highest score was 100, the lowest score was 76 and the average of the students' score was 80.9. It showed that there was significant improvement of students' skills in speaking. And from the overall results of previous studies that examined theoretically, it can be concluded that the implementation of mind mapping strategy had a significant effect

The Development of Statistic Instructional Materials for Integrated Student about Electronic Publishing Based Statistical Literacy

Good instructional materials are arranged systematically and they enable students to learn independently, up to date, easily digestible and designed in accordance with the applicable curriculum. This research aimed to determine the process and results of the development of integrated statistical instructional materials EPUB-based statistical literacy properly (valid, practical, and effective) and to determine whether there were significant differences between the pretest-posttest results. The type of research used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE type development model. The subjects in this research were 53 students of the mathematics education study program at Universitas Palangkaraya (UPR) and 41 students of the PGSD study program at Universitas Mushammadiyah Palangkaraya (UMPR). Data analysis used T-test and N-Gain test. The research results obtained were as follows: (1) The instructional materials developed contained statistical literacy and multimedia based, namely EPUB (2) The average validity obtained from the validator's assessment was 89.42% very valid of 89.42% (3) The average percentage of student responses to EPUB-based statistical literacy integrated instructional materials was 89.82%. Overall, instructional materials were in the very practical category. (4) student learning completeness reached 80.76%, there were 30 of 31 UPR students completed and student learning completeness reached 78, 80%, there were 22 UMPR students completed and it can be concluded that the use of EPUB was effective. (5) Furthermore, a significant difference can be seen from the UPR average of the experiment class posttest was 84.23 while the posttest control class was 61.23. It means that the post-test results of the experiment class were higher than the post-test results of the control class with a difference of 23 and the result of the N-gain score for the experiment class is 56.3% while the control class is only 4.24%. Meanwhile, a significant difference can also be seen from the average UMPR of the posttest experiment class was 78.14 while the posttest control class was 63.00. It means that the post-test results of the experiment class were higher than the post-test results of the control class with a difference of 15.14 and the results of the N-gain score for the experiment class are 56% while the control class was only 10%.

Suggestopedia Method Effect On Reading Descriptive Text at A Senior High School

Suggestopedia is a teaching method focuses on the teacher-learner relationship while teaching and learning process is going on in the classroom that might be used to encourage the students especially for reading a descriptive text. This study was to explore the senior high school students’ ability on reading descriptive text by using a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental approach. Sample was taken randomly, with 60 students were devided into two groups, 30 students were taken as control class while another 30 students as experimental class. By using a reading text as the instrument of the research, the researcher found that suggestopedia method was proven to be effective with the average pre-test control class was 38,6 and post-test control class was 53,3. The average pre-test in the experimental class was 46 and post-test experimental class was 90,8. The value of t-test higher than the value of t-table was (20,41>2,001) which means that suggestopedia method makes learning process more interesting and more effective for senior high school students.

Development of the Religious Values Model to Improve Learning Outcomes of the Digestive System Subject

Islamic education values are crucially applied in learning biology because its topics are conceptual and contextual. Thus, biology class must prioritize the learning values. Teachers can use each design containing to develop learning activities. The values model is a learning model prioritizing the application of life values. This study aimed to examine the students’ activities in the experimental class, examine different learning outcomes between students applying the religious-based values learning model and students applying conventional learning models, and examine students' attitudes towards biology learning applying the values learning model. This research employed the development research design and test one experimental class in the broad test. The experimental and control classes with a purposive sampling technique were employed in the pretest-posttest control group research design. The data were collected using observation, tests, and questionnaires of attitude values. The data were analyzed using the SPSS V.21 Software. The results showed that student learning activities increased in each test. The N-Gain value signified that the experimental class had higher learning outcomes than the control class. In addition, the learning outcomes in each test increased. The experimental class of students who applied biology with the religious-based values model in each meeting increased. The experimental class had higher learning outcomes than the control class. The average posttest score of student attitude in the experimental class was 87.59, while in the control class was 81.38. Meanwhile, the experimental class had the average posttest score of the implementation test was 80.37, and the posttest control class was 79.44. THE EFFECT OF TALKING STICK METHOD ON STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY AT THE SEVENTH GRADE OF SMP SWASTA DARUSSALAM MEDAN

This Study was aimed to find the empirical proof of The Effect Talking Stick Method Students’ Vocabulary Mastery by using Talking Stick. The method that was a quantitative method. The design of this study was experimental study. This study was 60 students of seventh grade. The instrument of this study was test. The tets were divided into two, there were pre-test and post-test. The data that were obtained from test analyzed by using SPSS statistic 25 program. The result of the study showed that the mean score of post-test in control class was 68.50 while the mean score of post-test in experiment class was 85.33. Based on the criteria of hypothesis test that if sig. 2 tailed (p) was lower than alpha (α) 0.05, the Ho(Null Hypothesis) was rejected and Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) was accepted. PENGARUH MUSIK KLASIK DAN PREFERENSI PRIBADI TERHADAP TEST ANXIETY DAN HASIL TES MEMBACA KOMPREHENSIF SISWA [THE EFFECT OF CLASSICAL MUSIC AND PERSONAL MUSIC PREFERENCE ON TEST ANXIETY AND READING COMPREHENSION TEST RESULTS

<p class="1eAbstract-text">Music is part of human life. Studies show that music influences psychological, cognitive, behavior, and emotion sides of human being. Research shows that music also influences students’ performance on reading comprehension test and test anxiety level. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of classical and personal preference music on students’ reading comprehension test performance and test anxiety level at grade XII SMAK 4 PENABUR Jakarta. The experiment design of this study is Pretest Posttest Non-Randomly Assigned Design. The students in experiment group get a treatment that is listening to classical music fifteen minutes before and while doing reading comprehension test. Students in another experiment group get a treatment that is listening personal preference music fifteen minutes before and while doing reading comprehension test in English class. Mean obtained from pretest and posttest of experiment class will be compared with mean from pretest and posttest of control class to explain whether or not they are statistically different. The study shows that classical and personal preference music influence students’ reading comprehension performance and test anxiety. Study also shows that there is negative correlation between students’ test anxiety and reading comprehension performance.</p>

Impact of multi-representation-based video on students’ learning outcome

This study aims to determine the effect of using multi-representation based video media on high school students’ learning outcomes. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The research sample was 24 students of class X IPA-1 for the control group and 22 students of class X IPA-2 for the experimental group. In the experimental group, the multi-representation based video media were used during instruction, meanwhile in the control group the instruction did not involve any multi-representation based video media. The data were collected from students’ responses on a test for student learning outcomes and the data were analysed using the t-test. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that student-learning outcomes have increased with the average post-test score of the experimental class 82.73 and the average value obtained in the control class post-test activity is 75.91. Based on the results of hypothesis testing at the significant level of α = 0.05 and df = 44, the t-table = 1.68 and the t-count = 3.32. Thus, it can be said that there is an influence from the use of multi-representation based video media on student learning outcomes on the concept of Works and Energy.

Improving Students’ Writing Skill Through Project Based Learning For EFLStudents

In the global era, EFL learners must master writing skill in order to communicate and covey their message. Project based learning is used to motivate them to be independent learner. It is expected that students will engage in writing process. The purpose is to investigate whether project based learning can improve the students’ writing ability. It was experimental research to compare between experimental and control group. The samples were 60 students of junior high school. The instrument is writing test. The data was analysed using SPSS. The result shows that the mean score of control class in post-test is 64.60 (SD = 10.87420) and the mean score of experimental class is 84.83 (SD = 10.19494). It means the p value is .00 or less than 0.05. It indicates that there is significant difference on students’ writing skill between experimental group and control group. The results of post-test in experimental class are higher than the control class. It also supported by Eta Squared value 0.48 or classified as large effect. It means that the use of project based learning gave positive effect towards students’ writing skill . It is recommended to use project based learning to improve the English skills. Speaking Skill through Task Based Learning in English Foreign Language Classroom

Speaking is one way to express ourselves when communicate. Most of students fail when they perform speaking skill. They faced problems in expressing themselves using in accurate, fluent and even simple sentences. Task based learning is an approach that need the completion of meaningful tasks. Task Based Learning focuses on the use of language for genuine in communication. This study used quasi experimental research. The sample of the study is Fourth Semester of English education study program of Baturaja University with the total sample 36 students. The data is conducted of two groups: one experimental group and one control group taught conventionally. Based on the data analysis the researcher concluded that task based learning was effective to improve the students’ speaking skill in EFL Classroom. The result data from the mean score of posttest in experimental class was 49,11and the mean score of posttest in control class was 51,88 . While, the value of sig. (2-tailed)=0.000 less than significant level (α=0.05), it meant that alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. The researcher concluded the result of posttest in experimental higher than the result of posttest in control class. It means that task based learning was significantly improve the students’ speaking skill at fourth semester of English education study program of Baturaja University. Based on the finding on questionnaire, it could be described that almost the students gave positive response on the use of task based learning. The students strongly agree that task based learning help them enjoy in learning English and they also mostly agree that task based activities is a good way to improve English vocabulary.

The Effect of Reward and Punishment in Increasing Students’ Motivation to Learn English

This research conducted to know the effect of reward and punishment in learning English at MA Nurul Falah Tg. Marulak in the academic year of 2020/2021. Reward is a tool educated students to able delight on their working got reward and punishment is interpreted as act presenting unpleasant or undiserable consequence certain behaviours. The research used quantitative method with quasi experimental design. The number of population of this research was the class eleventh grade MA Nurul Falah Tg. Marulak and the subject of this research was taken from 25 students of Experimental class and 25 students of control class. The instrument of research used questionnaire and test. The result of questionnaire there were 90% students more loved get reward and punishment and their motivation more increase by used reward and punishment. The data were analyzed by using reward and punishment in experimental class score mean of post-test 87.25 and the score mean post-test in control class was 81,75. At the significance level of α = 0.05 % with df = 48. It can be concluded that reward and punishment gave effect for students’ motivation in learning English at the eleventh-grade students MA Nurul Falah Tg. Marulak.

TONGUE TWISTER AS AN ICE BREAKER IN BOOSTING STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ABILITY

This study discussed about how tongue twister effective in boosting students’ speaking ability at the tenth graders of MAN 1 OKU. To collect data, the researcher used test in the form of recording video as an instrument. The methodology of this research was experimental research and the researcher used Quasi experimental method. From the population, the researcher took class X.IPA3 and X.IPS 1 as samples of this research, where X.IPA 3 was as the experimental class, and X.IPS 1 as the control class. The total number of sample was 72. The samples were taken by using simple random sampling. The students’ mean score in pretest in control class was 4.66 while the pretest in experimental class was 6.49. The mean score in posttest in control class was 4.94 and the mean score of posttest in experimental class was 7.36. Based on the distribution of students’ score in pre-test and post-test Tongue Twister strategy was effective in boosting students’ speaking ability to the tenth Graders of MAN1 OKU because the students’ score in post-test was better than pre-test both in control class and experimental class, and the significant difference is seen in experimental class that is taught by tongue twister. The minimum scores in pre-test were 1.67 in each class, and and the maximum score were 6.94 and 8.33, while the minimum scores in post-test were 1.67 and 5, while the maximum score was 7.5 and 9.17. If the value of Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000 more than the Significance level (a=0,05) it means that it was significantly effective to use Tongue Twister strategy in boosting students’ speaking ability at the tenth graders of MAN 1 OKU

The Effectiveness of Kahoot Online Media in Learning Personal Pronoun at a State Senior High School in Jambi City

This study is aimed at finding the effectiveness of Kahoot online media in learning personal pronoun for senior high school students. There were 30 social sciences students taken as participants in control class, and 30 natural sciences students were taken as experimental participants. There were five (5) topics given to the students; objective, subjective, possessive pronoun, possessive adjective, and reflexive as mains materials in English subject. The results of the research were proven effective by using t-test. Students’ scores in learning personal pronoun were significant after implementing Kahoot online media. The average pre-test control class 37,1 and post-test control class 48,7. Average pre-test experimental class 41,5 and post-test experimental class 83,5. Kahoot online media makes learning process more interesting. The value of t-test higher than the value of t-table (26,11> 2,001).

THE INFLUENCE OF PROJECT BASED LEARNING-STEM MODEL ON STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

This study aims to determine the project-based learning-STEM model's effect on biology learning outcomes in growth and development material. The learning was carried out in class XII IPA students of SMA Negeri 1 Muncar in the 2018/2019 academic year. This type of research is quasi-experimental research. The instrument in this study was a test given in the experimental class and the control class. The data were analyzed using parametric statistical analysis. There is a difference in the average post-test learning outcomes of the experimental class (PjBL-STEM model) with the control class's post-test learning outcomes using the independent sample t-test. The results of the analysis show that Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.00 0.05, which can be interpreted that there is a significant difference in the average student learning outcomes between the PjBL-STEM model (experimental class) and the conventional model (control class). The average post-test score of the experimental class with the PjBL-STEM model was 87.50, while the average score in the Control class was 79.82, so that there was an increase in the value of 7.68 in the experimental class. The PjBL-STEM model's application to improve learning outcomes can be continued with other materials that have STEM characteristics.

Dealing with Students Pronunciation: the “Spelling Bee” Effect

Pronunciation is put on bottom list in English teaching-learning process, and students focused to learn grammar. The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of “Spelling Bee” technique towards students’ pronunciation. The researcher used the experimental method. The sample of the research was 63 students in seventh-grade MTs NU 01 Mambaul Hikmah Tegalwangi which was consist of 32 female students of seventh E as experimental class and 31 female students of seventh D as control class. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling. The instrument of the research used jumble letters and speaking test as pre-test and post-test which were analyzed using Microsoft Excel. The result of the research indicated that there was a significant difference between students’ post-test in experimental class and control class. The mean score of the post-test in the experimental class was (71.806) while the score post-test in the control class was (23.306). Besides, the result of the t-test showed that t-stat (27.125) was higher than t-table (1.688) with a degree of freedom (df) = 36 as a result Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. It meant that the “Spelling Bee” technique had a significant influence in teaching pronunciation at seventh-grade of MTs NU 01 Mambaul Hikmah Tegalwangi. “Spelling Bee” can be an alternative technique for teachers to improve students’ pronunciation as well as their vocabulary and spelling skills.

THE USING OF TWO STAY TWO STRAY (TSTS) STRATEGY ON STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION

The objective of this research was to find out the effect of using Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) strategy on students’ reading comprehension at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 4 Pematangsiantar. In this research, the researcher used a quantitative research and the method of this research is experimental research by used true-experimental research design. The population of this research was the students of the tenth grade PMIA SMA Negeri 4 Pematangsiantar, there are seven classes and the total of population in this research was 249 students. To determine the sample, the researcher make a lottery, the sample of this research were two classes. The first class is taken from X PMIA-6 with 36 students as control class and the second class is taken from X PMIA-7 with 36 students as experimental class. So, the total of the sample in this research is 72 students. In analyzing the data, the researcher used SPSS version 2.1. The result of this research was the students’ score pre-test in control class are 1876 with the mean score 52.11 and the students’ score post-test in control class are 2152 with the mean score 59.78. Before the treatment of Two Stay Two Stray strategy, the students’ prior knowledge in reading comprehension was less with score pre-test are 1870 with the mean score 51.94. After the treatment using Two Stay Two Stray strategy, the students’ score post-test in reading comprehension had been improved are 2808 with the mean score 78.00. It means that the scores of experimental class are higher than in control class because the researcher conducted the research in experimental class by using a treatment (Two Stay Two Stray Strategy). Then the results of hypothesis testing using T-Test obtained tcount (9.86) >ttable (1.66), it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It means that the using of Two Stay Two Stray strategy affects significantly on students’ reading comprehension at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 4 Pematangsiantar

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SOCRATIVE APPLICATION FOR FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT IN TEACHING VOCABULARY AT SMA MUHAMMADIYAH 1 PONOROGO

The objective of this research was to find out whether there is any significant difference vocabulary mastery between students who used socrative application for formative assessment and who are not used socrative application for formative assessment. This research applied quantitative research approach and used quasi-experimental design. In this research, the researcher used two classes (experimental class and control class) as a sample. The population of eleventh science grade in SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo was 115 students. The number of sample in this research was 30 students of experimental class (XI IPA4) and 31 students of control class (XI IPA3). The researcher used simple random sampling to choose the sample in this research. The data were obtained by using a pre-test and post-test. The pre-test was given to both classes before the treatment and the post-test was given after the treatment. After getting the score of pre-test and post-test, the data were analyzed and processed by using T-test formula using SPSS 23 versions for Windows. The result of this research showed that the average of post-test of experimental class is 87.70 and the average score of post-test of control class is 77.74. The value of t-test = 3,226 with df = 59 on level significance 5%. According to the table value “t” = 1,671. Then tcount higher than ttable (3,226 > 1,671). Therefore, H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. So, it can be concluded that there is significant difference on students’ vocabulary mastery that used socrative application for formative assessment and that are not. In the other words, Socrative Application is effective for formative assessment on students’ vocabulary mastery of eleventh science grade of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Ponorogo.

THE EFFECT OF PROBING PROMPTING ON STUDENTS’ WRITING ACHIEVEMENT AT TENTH GRADE OF MAN 1 BOMBANA

The objective of this research was to find out the effect of using probing prompting on students’ writing achievement at tenth grade of MAN 1 Bombana. This research applied quasi experimental design that consist of experimental class and control class. The sample of this research were students at class X IPA and X IPS in MAN 1 Bombana who were register in academic years 2019/2020. The sample taken by using cluster random sampling and the total numbers of students are 46, 22 for experimental class (X IPA) and 24 for control class (X IPS). The research instrument was written test which focus on narrative text. The researcher collected the data by giving pre-test in both of the classes, giving treatment in experimental by giving probing prompting and non-probing prompting in control class, and giving post-test in both of the classes. In analyzing the data were used SPSS 16.0 version. To examine the hypothesis the researcher used an independent sample t-test. Based on the result, it showed that students’ mean score of post-test in experimental class is 64.35. It is raised 9.83 point from its pre-test (54.52). While students’ mean score of post-test in control class is 56.82. It is only raised 4.97 point from its pre-test (51.85). Besides, the value of degree of freedom (df)= 42, t=4.574, and sig (2 tailed)=0.000. It means that the probability (sig) value is lower than α ( p value < α or 0.000 < 0.05). Therefore,probingprompting had a significant effect on students’ writing achievement at tenth grade of MAN 1 Bombana.

PENGARUH MEDIA PEMBELAJARAN INTERAKTIF PIVOT OFF LINE TERHADAP MINAT BELAJAR SISWA DI SMA NEGERI 1 PINANGSORI

This research is a quasi-experimental study aimed to determine the effect of Pivot off line interactive learning media on students' interest in learning physics at Pinangsori 1 High School and to know the effect of Pivot off line interactive learning media on student physics learning outcomes on business (work) and kinetic energy material in Pinangsori 1 High School. The population in this study were all students of class X MIA SMA Negeri 1 Pinangsori, which consisted of 4 classes (130 students). The sample of this study was determined by random cluster sampling, amounting to 30 people. The research instrument is learning interest. The average value of the final ability (Post-test) in the experimental class after the implementation of learning methods assisted by Pivot Animator software increased. The experimental class post-test results are (for max = 95, min = 75, dan = 84,3), while the control class post-test results are (for max = 80, min = 60, dan = 73,1). The initial results of the questionnaire students' interest in learning physics in the experimental class were (for max = 90, min = 60, dan = 79,3),, while in the control class were (for max = 80, min = 50, dan = 69,1) it can be concluded that Pivot off line interactive learning media on students' learning interest in Pinangsori 1 High School.
