Penyuluhan Perawatan Metode Kangguru terhadap Peningkatan Suhu Badan Rendah Bayi Baru Lahir di RSUD Sawerigading Kota Palopo Tahun 2024

Sawerigading Hospital is located in the middle of Palopo City where the location is very strategic and easy to reach by the community, so it is not surprising that Sawerigading Hospital is in great demand by the people of Palopo City to get health service facilities. The method used in this community service activity is a group discussion with an interactive question and answer session between helpers and mothers for 40 minutes. The mothers are all postpartum mothers at Sawerigading Hospital, Palopo City, with a total of 30 mothers. Before the educational activity, a pre-test was carried out and after the activity a post-test was carried out using a questionnaire containing 10 questions about the importance of the kangaroo method. This activity was carried out at Sawerigading Hospital, Palopo City. Kangaroo Method Treatment (FMD) is skin contact between mother and baby early, continuously and combined with exclusive breastfeeding. The purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge of mothers and mothers of.

Oxytocin Massage, Breast Milk Production, and Comfort in Post Partum P0A1 Mothers with Spontaneous Delivery: A Case Study in the Delima Room of RSUD Waled

All pregnant women have the potential to experience complications during pregnancy and the postpartum period. To prevent complications such as bleeding and infection in the postpartum period, comprehensive nursing care is essential, including counseling on postpartum care. This counseling aims to meet the mother's need for knowledge and skills related to self-care, newborn care, family adaptation, and health recovery. This study aims to describe the implementation of nursing care in postpartum mothers through the nursing process approach. A case study design was used on primiparous postpartum mothers with spontaneous delivery in the Delima room, Waled Hospital, Cirebon Regency. The research was conducted on February 12, 2024. The results showed that breast milk production can be accelerated by nonpharmacological measures such as oxytocin massage, which involves massaging the area around the back (vertebrae pars thoracica) to stimulate the release of breast milk. The mother reported feeling satisfied, happy, and confident in her ability to provide breast milk to her baby. Although the problem of ineffective breastfeeding related to inadequate milk supply was not fully resolved, patients reported feeling comfortable after oxytocin massage. The implication of the study suggests that oxytocin massage can be an effective intervention in accelerating milk release and improving the well-being of postpartum mothers. Appropriate counseling and nursing care are crucial in helping postpartum mothers overcome challenges and improve the quality of self-care and newborn care.

The relationship between mothers’ obsessive and compulsive behaviours regarding baby care and breastfeeding self-efficacy: the mediator role of postpartum depression

ABSTRACT The present study aims to examine the mediator role of postpartum depression in the relationship between mothers’ obsessive and compulsive behaviours regarding baby care and breastfeeding self-efficacy. The study has a correlational survey design. The regression analysis method was employed to test the mediator role. A significant negative correlation was identified between mothers’ obsessive and compulsive behaviours regarding baby care and breastfeeding self-efficacy. A significant negative correlation was determined between breastfeeding self-efficacy and postpartum depression. A significant positive correlation was revealed between postpartum depression and mothers’ obsessive and compulsive behaviours regarding baby care. Postpartum depression was determined to play a full mediator role in the relationship between mothers’ obsessive and compulsive behaviours regarding baby care and breastfeeding self-efficacy. An increase in mothers’ obsessive and compulsive behaviours regarding baby care will increase postpartum depression and adversely affect breastfeeding self-efficacy.

Comparison of Oxytocin Massage and Banana Flower Consumption in Increasing Breast Milk Volume

Insufficient breast milk production often occurs during the first week postpartum due to psychological stress, inadequate stimulation of prolactin and oxytocin hormones, and nutritional aspects of the mother’s diet. Efforts to improve and increase breast milk production include providing back massage to induce a relaxing sensation and fulfilling the needs for a balanced nutritious diet, which can effectively stimulate the release of prolactin and oxytocin hormones. This research aims to compare the effectiveness of oxytocin massage and banana flower consumption in increasing breast milk volume. This study used true experimental with a pre-post test design (excluding a control group) and involved 32 postpartum mothers with low-stress levels and low to medium socioeconomic status. Breast milk volume was evaluated by breast pumping for 30 minutes and measuring the output with a measuring cup. Data were analyzed using an independent t-test. There was a 6.375 cc increase in breast milk volume in the banana flower consumption group compared to the oxytocin massage group. However, statistically, both treatments had similar effects, as there were no significant differences between the groups (p = 0.519). Therefore, both oxytocin massage and banana flower consumption can be considered effective alternatives for increasing breast milk volume.

Prevalence and associated factors of developmental coordination disorder in primary school children.

Developmental coordination disorder (DCD) is one of the most frequently observed movement disorders in childhood, yet data on its prevalence are still unclear. This two-stage epidemiological study aims to determine the prevalence of DCD in children between 6 and 10 years of age according to the diagnostic criteria of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders-5 (DSM-5). In the first stage, the Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (DCDQ'07) were given to primary school students. In the second stage, clinicians conducted psychiatric interviews with children who had an indication of DCD or were suspected of having DCD according to the DCDQ'07 and their parents. The interviews utilized the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for DCD and applied the Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia for School-Age Children-Present and Lifetime Version-Turkish Adaptation (K-SADS-PL) and Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-R) to identify co-occurring disorders. In the first stage, 2,306 children were evaluated, and 205 were invited for a clinical interview. Of the 198 children interviewed, 49 met the diagnostic criteria for DCD. The prevalence of DCD in Türkiye was found to be 2.1%. High parental education level, a previous psychiatric admission of the child, mother's postpartum depressive symptoms, co-occurring disorders, and co-occurring attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) were significantly more common among children with DCD. Potentially associated factors were evaluated by logistic regression analysis. The mother's education level, the presence of postpartum depressive symptoms, and co-occurring disorders in the child were found to be associated factors.

The population in this study was 34 postpartum mothers who experienced breast swelling on day 3 to day 14. The results of the Wilcoxon test found differences in breast swelling scores before and after applying cold cabbage leaf compresses and breastcare, so it can be concluded that there is a statistically significant average difference between breast swelling scores before and after treatment, where the mean after treatment decreased by 1.15 compared to the mean before treatment 2.79. This means that giving cold cabbage leaf compresses and breastcare can effectively reduce the problem of breast swelling in puerperal mothers. Applying cabbage leaf compresses (Brassica Oleracea var. Capitata) cold and Breast Care combined with very effective in reducing breast swelling in puerperal mothers.

The Role of Parenting and Socio-Cultural Practices in Addressing Stunting in Food-Insecure West Timor

Stunting, a consequence of chronic malnutrition, has detrimental effects on child development. This qualitative study explores socio-cultural factors and family practices related to stunting prevention in food-insecure areas of West Timor, Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, questionnaires, focus groups, and observations with mothers (n = 20), healthcare workers, officials, traditional figures, and religious leaders. Identified parenting practices spanned childcare, immunization, hygiene, sick child care, and feeding. Support for pregnant and postpartum mothers was crucial. Socio-cultural influences emerged in three themes: child food intake, care during pregnancy, and maternal care after childbirth. This study underscores the combined impact of food insecurity and socio-cultural factors on stunting. Culturally sensitive interventions addressing food availability and these practices are essential for effective stunting prevention.

Comparison Of The Effectiveness Of Oxytocin Massage And Marmet Technique In Increasing Breast Milk Production In Postpartum Mothers: A Quasi-Experimental Study

Research Metodes: The research employ a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test approach. The sample consist of 60 pospartum mothers divided two group: the oxytocin massage group (n=30) and the marmet technique group (n=30). The intervention was conducted over 14 days, and breast milk production was measured using indicators of infant weight gain and urination frequency Results: It showed that both techniques are effective in increasing breast milk production; however, oxytocin massage demonstrates a more significant improvement (p<0.05). In conclusion, oxytocin massage can be recommended as a primary intervention to enhance breast milk production in postpartum mothers.

HUBUNGAN KOMPRES HANGAT DENGAN INTENSITAS NYERI PADA IBU NIFAS DENGAN BENDUNGAN ASI DI KLINIK PRATAMA SAM KAMPUNG BARU MEDAN MAIMUN

Breast milk production can be influenced by two factors, namely production and expenditure. Use a warm compress, namely warm water which is then compressed onto the breasts using a towel. Not infrequently non-medical therapy as above is often applied to postpartum mothers whose breast milk has not yet come in, of course first by conducting training with the puskesmas coordinator midwife, to improve maximum service. The research was carried out by determining the initial level of pain intensity (pretest) before giving a warm compress and then continuing with measuring the pain intensity (posttest) after giving a warm compress. The results of the Independent sample t test showed P Value = 0.001, meaning p < 0.05, stating that there is a relationship between warm compresses and pain intensity in mothers with breast milk dams at the Pratama SAM Kampung Baru Clinic, Medan Maimun in 2023. Other research on the effectiveness of compresses Varney said that warm compresses are considered the right action to relieve pain, and for some women who experience problems with breast milk, it is known that using warm compresses alternately can provide a feeling of comfort. Apart from that, the intense pain when there is a blockage in the breast means that mothers tend to choose the easiest method, one of which is a warm compress.

Neno Boha: Local Wisdom of the Dawan Community tn Postpartum Mothers in Binaus Village

Introduction: Health promlems in Indonesia include high maternal and infant mortality rates. The causes are varied, including economic factors, access to health facilities, and community beliefs and traditions. In Binaus Village, there is a Neno Boha tradition for caring for mothers after giving birth, which involves roasting, hot water compresses (tatobi), abstinence, and consuming potions. This research aims to understand the implementation of the Neno Boha tradition and its impact on maternal and infant health Methods: This research uses a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach to postpartum mothers who follow the Neno Boha tradition. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and participant observation, then analyzed thematically by coding the interview transcripts to produce sub-themes and themes. The results are presented in descriptive text. Results: Data analysis shows that the Dawan tribe women in Binaus Village still carry out the Neno Boha tradition because of this belief passed down from generation to generation. They believe that this tradition helps restore health and heal post-natal wounds. Mothers continue to observe Neno Boha even after giving birth in a health facility and taking medication, because they believe this tradition prevents various long-term illnesses. The practice of roasting and tatobi is thought to help expel dirty blood, making the mother feel healthier. However, for the sake of the baby's health, the practice of roasting is now done only with hot coals and in the main house Conclusion: Traditional care for mothers after giving birth is still carried out by the Dawan tribe community in Binaus Village. The mother feels that the Neno Boha tradition needs to be carried out in addition to medical treatment, by avoiding things that could harm the mother and baby.

Analisis Pengetahuan Ibu Nifas dengan Tanda Bahaya Masa Nifas di Bidan Praktik Mandiri Massiana Kabupaten Sintang

Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) is an indicator for improving health status and the success of implementing health development. Maternal Mortality Rate (IMR) is the number of women who die during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period (42 days after giving birth) due to pregnancy abnormalities and their management. Based on 2018 SRS (Sampling Registration System) data, it is known that around 36% of maternal deaths occurred when the mother was in the labor phase, 40% of maternal deaths occurred during the postpartum period, and 34% of maternal deaths occurred during pregnancy. (Indonesian Ministry of Health, 2019). The aim of the research is to find out the relationship between postpartum mothers' knowledge and danger signs during the postpartum period. The research object is the knowledge of postpartum mothers about the danger signs of postpartum, quantitative descriptive research method, cross sectional approach, population of 35 postpartum mothers at PMB Massiana, sample of 35 postpartum mothers at PMB Massiana, total sampling technique, data analysis used by Chi Sguare. There is a relationship between the knowledge of postpartum mothers and the danger signs during the postpartum period with a P value of 0.007 and an Odd Ratio value of 2.084. The conclusion is that postpartum mothers who have sufficient knowledge are 2.084 times more likely to experience one of the danger signs during the postpartum period compared to postpartum mothers who have good knowledge.

Social Psychological and Cultural Resilience in Its Influence on Exclusive Breastfeeding Behavior

ABSTRACT Mother's milk (ASI) is the best food for babies that cannot be replaced by anything. Breastfeeding has been proven to be beneficial for both the baby and the mother. However, the coverage rate for achieving exclusive breastfeeding is still far below the target. This research aims to determine the influence of social psychological and socio-cultural resilience on exclusive breastfeeding behavior. This research is an analytical study with a cross sectional design. The sample in this study was 108 postpartum mothers taken using a simple random sampling technique. The independent variables in this research are social psychological and socio-cultural resilience, while the dependent variable is the behavior of postpartum mothers in providing exclusive breastfeeding. Data collection in this study used a questionnaire and was analyzed bivariately using the Chi Square and Fisher Exact Tests, while multivariate analysis used the Logistic Regression Test. The results of analysis using the Chi Square and/or Fisher Exact tests showed a p value > 0.05 for all indicators of social psychological resilience, which means that there are no indicators in this dimension that have an influence on exclusive breastfeeding. Meanwhile, for the socio-cultural resilience variable, the result was a p value of 0.014 or p value <0.05 on the social care indicator, which means that social care has a significant influence on exclusive breastfeeding. So it can be concluded that social psychological resilience has no effect on exclusive breastfeeding, while socio-cultural resilience influences exclusive breastfeeding on indicators of social concern.

Hubungan Dukungan Suami, Peran Bidan Dan Pengetahuan Ibu Terhadap Kejadian Baby Blues Pada Ibu Nifas Di BPM Bidan Lena Jakarta

Introduction: Based on a preliminary study on secondary data at BPM Midwife Lena Jakarta in 2021 112 post-partum mothers gave birth at the BPM. From 112 post-partum mothers; based on secondary data from Lena's BPM in 2021, 15 post-partum mothers did not receive the support of their husbands, such as husbands never helping mothers with homework and husbands sometimes getting angry when the baby cries. Of the 112 post-partum mothers; 19 post-partum mothers felt anxious and worried that their babies would cry a lot and mothers felt that their sleep time was reduced. Of 112 post-partum mothers; 3 post-partum mothers felt uncomfortable with their current physical condition. Methods: This study aims to determine the relationship between the husband's support, the midwife's role, and the mother's knowledge of post-partum mother's baby blues. This type of research is Analytical and Descriptive with a cross-sectional approach. Results: there is a significant relationship between the husband's support and the incidence of baby blues in post-partum mothers with a p-value of 0,029 which is smaller than the alpha value of 0,029 <0,05. there is a significant relationship between the role of the midwife and the incidence of baby blues in post-partum mothers with a p-value of 0,030; the p-value is smaller than the alpha value 0,030 < 0,05. there is a significant relationship between mothers' knowledge of the incidence of baby blues in post-partum mothers with a p-value of 0,023; the p-value is smaller than the alpha value 0,023 < 0,05. Discussion: It is known that from a total of 37 respondents; the number of post-partum mothers who experienced symptoms of baby blues was 24 respondents (64,9%) which means that the variables of husband's support, the midwife's role, and a mother's knowledge played a big role in triggering the occurrence of baby blues in post-partum mothers.

Effect of Kegel Exercise and Prone Position on After Pain Among Postpartum Mothers

ABSTRACT Background: Afterpain is a common discomfort felt by most of the postpartum mothers which is occurred due to delayed involution. Kegel exercise and prone position enhance the involution. Aim: The aim of the study was to determine the effectiveness of Kegel exercise and prone position on afterpain among postpartum mothers. Material and Methods: A Quasi-experimental pretest post-test with control group research design was used. Using nonprobability purposive sampling technique recruited 60 postpartum mothers who met the criteria. The level of afterpain was assessed by using visual analog scale. Experimental group was educated to do Kegel exercise for 3 days and lie in prone position for 3–5 minutes, 3 times for 3 days. Control group follows routine postnatal care posttest was conducted. Results: The study results concluded that the afterpain mean difference was 0.53, 1.70, 1.80, and 4.03. The calculated paired t-test value of t = 5.757 between pretest and post-test 1, t = 12.420 between post-test 1 and post-test 2, t = 12.953 between post-test 2 and post-test 3, and t = 21.378 between pretest and post-test 3 was found to be statistically significant at P < 0.001 level. Conclusion: Therefore, Kegel exercise and prone position was effective in reducing afterpain during postpartum period.

Application of Breast Care to Prevent Breast Milk Dams in Postpartum Mothers

The first day after delivery is when the breasts become overfilled with milk, causing them to become swollen, hard and painful. Breast care is an action to take care of the breasts to prevent the occurrence of breast milk dams, reduce pain and discomfort, prevent more serious complications, maintain breast milk production, prevent early termination of breastfeeding breast milk. The purpose of this case study is to provide nursing care to post partum mothers with the problem of ineffective breastfeeding with the application of Breast Care. The research method used is a case study of 2 patients with post partum by applying the nursing process method: Interview, examination, observation of activities to obtain diagnostic records and reports. After taking nursing action for 3 days with a diagnosis: ineffectiveness of breastfeeding associated with breast swelling. with the application of breast care with the results resolved on day 4. breast discomfort has decreased after breast care, there is no dam or swelling in the mother's breast, there is no dam or swelling in the mother's breast, feeling more relieved and relaxed after breast care is performed. The application of breast care in both post partum patients can reduce breast swelling due to breast milk dams. Researchers suggest that patients can apply breast care as one of the treatments that can be done alone at home, because one of the benefits of breast care is to reduce breast swelling.

A case of self-limiting respiratory distress in a postpartum mother – transfusion related acute lung injury

A 37-year-old woman, treated for postpartum haemorrhage, developed sudden-onset acute respiratory distress characterised by tachypnoea, desaturation and widespread crepitations, on the first day postpartum. She had low partial pressure of oxygen to the fractional inspired oxygen concentration (PaO2/FiO2) ratio and bilateral patchy opacities in chest radiograph. Despite having a high oxygen requirement, her clinical and radiographic abnormalities spontaneously resolved in 30 hours, after a conservative treatment approach. This case report delves into the rare, yet serious entity of transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI) and underscores the importance of considering it among other potential causes of shortness of breath following blood transfusion in postpartum patients.

EFFECTIVENESS OF POSTPARTUM EXERCISE FOR POSPARTUM WOMEN ON UTERINE INVOLUTION

Postpartum exercise plays an important role in the process of uterine involution. The involution process will proceed well if uterine contractions are strong, so action must be taken to improve uterine contractions. Efforts to control bleeding from the placenta by improving strong contractions and retraction of myometrial fibers with postpartum exercises. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of postpartum exercises for postpartum mothers. on Uterine Involution at the Pujud Community Health Center, Rokan Hilir Regency. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study were postpartum mothers, who were taken using a purposive sampling technique. Of the 17 postpartum mothers in the Pujud Community Health Center Working Area, Rokan Hilir Regency, before postpartum exercise there was a decrease in Rapid TFU of 0 (0%), a decrease in Normal TFU of 8 (47.1), a decrease in Slow TFU of 9 (52.9) and after After postpartum exercise was carried out, there was a rapid decrease in TFU in 11 people (64.7%), there was a decrease in normal TFU in 6 (35.3), there was a slow decrease in TFU in 0 (0). There was a significant influence between postpartum exercise and uterine involution as seen from the height measurement. Uterine fundus with the One-Sample Test results above show that the P value is 0.000 < 0.05. So, in accordance with the basis for decision making in statistical tests, it can be concluded that postpartum exercise carried out before and after is effective in reducing the fundal height of the uterus (TFU) of postpartum mothers at the Pujud Community Health Center, Rokan Hilir Regency. It is hoped that all postpartum mothers can understand the benefits of postpartum exercise for uterine involution process. .

Optimizing the Implementation of Foot Massage as an Effort to Increase Comfort and Reduce Pain After Labor

Childbirth is a maternal experience that often results in trauma for the mother. Pain before and after delivery is one of the factors that makes the mother uncomfortable. The mother's discomfort will make the mother stressed and will not make the mother comfortable with her new assignment. Foot massage is one method that can be applied to postpartum mothers to reduce the pain and comfort experienced by most mothers in the early postnatal period. Comfort during postpartum will improve the mother's quality of life. The location of the service activity was at the Nining Independent Midwife Practice, Deli Serdang Regency with a total of 14 participants. The target of this activity is postpartum mothers and mothers' companions during treatment. The activity methods used are lectures, role plays and simulations. The activity was carried out twice, namely on 16 and 23 May 2024. The activity consisted of preparation, implementation and evaluation. The results of this service show that most of the participants were >35 years old, female and had a high school education. There is a change in knowledge regarding optimizing foot massage to reduce pain and comfort after childbirth. Before being given health education, the majority of participants had knowledge, namely less than 78.57% and those who had sufficient knowledge were 21.42%. After being given education, the majority of participants had good knowledge about foot massage (57.14%) and 4 participants (28.57%) had good knowledge about foot massage. The presentation of increased knowledge after being given health education was 78.57%. It is hoped that foot massage education can be optimally implemented for postpartum mothers during the postpartum period so that it can help mothers reduce the pain and discomfort that occurs during the postpartum care period.

The Correlation between Rooming-in and the Level of Independence of Postpartum Mothers in Caring for Newborns in the Inpatient Room of RSU Bali Royal

Introduction: Rooming-in, or co-hospitalisation, is designed to teach postpartum mothers how to independently care for their newborns, recognise their babies' responses, and establish a strong bond. This approach is particularly crucial for mothers who exclusively breastfeed. This study aimed to determine the correlation between rooming-in and the level of independence of postpartum mothers in caring for their newborns at RSU Bali Royal, emphasising the importance of health education regarding postnatal care. Methods: This quantitative study employed an observational, analytical, and descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample comprised all postpartum mothers who gave birth at Bali Royal General Hospital and met the inclusion criteria. A total of 92 respondents were included. Data were collected using a detailed questionnaire and analysed using the Spearman Rank Test. Results: The study found that 53.3% of the respondents required assistance in caring for their newborns. The correlation value of 0.784 indicated a strong relationship between rooming-in and the level of independence of postpartum mothers. Conclusion: There is a strong correlation between rooming-in and the independence level of postpartum mothers in caring for newborns at RSU Bali Royal. Promoting rooming-in practices can significantly enhance the independence of postpartum mothers.

THE RELATIONSHIP OF SOCIAL SUPPORT WITH THE EVENT OF DEPRESSION POSTPARTUM

Women are prone to experiencing depression, especially in the postpartum phase. The postpartum period refers to the postpartum phase, where the reproductive organs and body systems undergo the process of returning to their pre-pregnancy form. This period begins immediately after the baby is born and lasts up to 6 weeks (40 days). This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and postpartum events. This research uses a quantitative research design with cross sectional techniques. The research focused on postpartum mothers who lived in the Mainland Work Area Health Center, North Aceh Regency. The sample was determined using a simple random sampling method, namely 60 respondents using the Slovin formula. The results of the research show that there is a relationship between social support (p-value 0.001<0.05) and the incidence of postnatal depression in the Pasir Tanah Community Health Center working area.
