Specifically, the objective study is to determine the relationship between exposure to social media and the academic performance of the respondents. Descriptive design was used to describe the relationship between gender exposure to social media and the academic performance of high school students. The researcher randomly selected 150 respondents (75 male and 75 female) from grade 9 and 122 respondents (61 male and 61 female ) from grade 10 students in Dona Juana Chioco National High School in Lupao Nueva Ecija. Data were collected using the questionnaire. With regards to Male Correlations between Exposure to Social Media and Academic Performance, the result shows that positive effects of social media were positive and significantly correlated with all the grades of the respondents in three grading periods except Science1 and Social Science 2.Ownership of the communication gadgets indicated positive and significant correlation with the grades in Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) 123. Internet connection established a positive and significant correlation with the grades of the respondents in English 123 and Math 123, Science 23 and Social Science 1.Type of internet connection indicates positive and significant correlation with the grades in English 1, TLE123 and Social Science3. Place where ale respondents use the internet was found to have negative and significant correlation with the grades in English 123 and Math 123. The use of social media exhibits a negative and significant correlation with the grade in English2. A negative and significant correlation was exhibited between the frequency of use of social media to the grades of the respondents in English 3, Math 123, Science 123, and SocSci1.With regards to the number of hours spent using social media, it can be seen that English2 and Math123. This shows that the fewer hours they spent using social media, the better their performance in English and Mathematics. In looking at the correlations of the academic performance of the female respondents and the exposure of the respondents to social media, it can be seen that the purpose of using social media exhibited a negative and significant correlation with Math23 and Science3. Positive effects of using social media show a positive and highly significant correlation with all the subjects. Ownership of the communication gadgets indicates a positive and significant correlation with English12, Science 123, TLE123, and SocSci3.Internet connection, on the other hand, exhibited a positive and significant correlation with English 123, Science 123, TLE123, and SocSci3.Type of internet connection shows positive and significant correlation with all the subject except English123 and Science2. English 3, Math 123, Science 123, and SocSci 12 show negative and significant correlation with the place where to use the internet. The use of social media shows a negative and significant correlation with English 3, Math23, Science 3, and SocSci 2. In terms of the frequency of use of social media, it can be seen on the table that Math123, Science 3, and SocSci12 show negative and significant results. Several hours spent using social media show a negative correlation with the grade in Math3. A positive and significant correlation was shown in the grades of the respondents in TLE123.
