PERENCANAAN STRATEGIS SISTEM INFORMASI MENGGUNAKAN METODE WARD AND PEPPARD PADA RSUD HUSADA PRIMA

As an innovative and trusted healthcare provider in Surabaya. Information systems (IS) and information technology (IT) play an important role in supporting operations and achieving strategic goals of organizations, including hospitals. RSUD Husada Prima faces challenges in managing patient data, electronic medical records, and financial reports. This study uses the Ward and Peppard method to design strategic IS/IT planning that supports the hospital's vision and mission. The analysis was carried out using tools such as SWOT, PEST, Value Chain, Porter's Five Forces, Critical Success Factors, and McFarlan Strategic Grid. The result is an application portfolio that includes strategic, operational, supporting, and high-potential applications. Technology recommendations include integration of the Hospital Management Information System (SIMRS), telemedicine services, big data, and artificial intelligence (AI). This implementation aims to improve operational efficiency, service quality, and hospital competitiveness. This study provides a strategic roadmap for RSUD Husada Prima to adopt modern technology and strengthen its position.

Biological Switches: Past and Future Milestones of Transcription Factor-Based Biosensors.

Since the description of the lac operon in 1961 by Jacob and Monod, transcriptional regulation in prokaryotes has been studied extensively and has led to the development of transcription factor-based biosensors. Due to the broad variety of detectable small molecules and their various applications across biotechnology, biosensor research and development have increased exponentially over the past decades. Throughout this period, key milestones in fundamental knowledge, synthetic biology, analytical tools, and computational learning have led to an immense expansion of the biosensor repertoire and its application portfolio. Over the years, biosensor engineering became a more multidisciplinary discipline, combining high-throughput analytical tools, DNA randomization strategies, forward engineering, and advanced protein engineering workflows. Despite these advances, many obstacles remain to fully unlock the potential of biosensor technology. This review analyzes the timeline of key milestones on fundamental research (1960s to 2000s) and engineering strategies (2000s onward), on both the DNA and protein level of biosensors. Moreover, insights into the future perspectives, remaining hurdles, and unexplored opportunities of this promising field are discussed.

Perencanaan Strategis Sistem Informasi di PT VE

PT VE is a general contractor company that supplies any tools in form of equipment rental for mining corporations in Indonesia. Nowadays, PT VE has an integrated IS for just a few and not for all Departement in the company. Based on this phenomenon some Departement may generates redundant data, and generates ineffectively work process because doing the same recurrent job. The purpose of this study is to make IS/TI Strategis Planning in PT VE by identifying business and IS/IT strategies then conforming them. A methodology this study use is Ward & Peppard verses and uses SWOT, PEST, McFarlan Strategic Grid, Porter’s Five Forces Analysis,Value Chain Analysis, CSF for analysis tools. The result of this study is an application portfolio that might become future reference for establish or developing systems to support the business objectives.

Penerapan Metode Ward and Peppard dalam Analisis Infrastruktur TI pada Global Youth Action

Global Youth Action is a company engaged in youth empowerment with a focus on supporting the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the collaboration of various youth movements in Indonesia and internationally. However, the company still faces challenges in terms of infrastructure and information system (IS) applications that are not fully capable of supporting business processes optimally. One of the main obstacles is the limited human resources who have expertise in managing SI and information technology (IT) effectively. In preparing the SI strategic planning framework, this research uses the Ward and Peppard approach to analyze company needs. The analysis process includes mapping the company's internal and external environment through Value Chain Analysis and SWOT Analysis, as well as grouping the application portfolio using McFarlan Strategic Grid. The results of this research recommend the development of various applications such as the Global Youth Action Website application, SAP application, customer service information system, asset information system, and executive information system. These recommendations are expected to provide strategic direction for the global youth action company, as well as improve IT HR competencies and strengthen the application portfolio to support the sustainability of business processes at Global Youth Action.

A Methodological Approach to Prioritize Digital Twin Development in Manufacturing

ABSTRACTThe digital age has brought about a need for organizations to utilize Digital Twins to improve operational efficiency and decision‐making. However, it is difficult for companies to identify and prioritize Digital Twin initiatives that meet the needs of their stakeholders and align with the capabilities of the company and its strategic plans. This paper proposes a methodology for the systematic identification and prioritization of Digital Twin applications in complex industrial settings. The methodology begins by documenting business requirements, current processes, and challenges, and subsequently identifying areas with potential benefits from Digital Twins through the use of an opportunity scoring system. To refine the portfolio of Digital Twin applications to include only those that are impactful and viable, the feasibility of Digital Twin is quantified by evaluating technological (technical capacity and digital skills), organizational, and project risk factors. To validate the proposed methodology, a case study was conducted in collaboration with an industrial partner specializing in injection molding. This real‐world application demonstrates the effectiveness of our approach in identifying and prioritizing Digital Twin applications in a complex industrial context. This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge surrounding Digital Twins, providing organizations with a structured approach to leverage the potential of this transformative technology.

Porous Bi Nanosheets Derived from β-Bi2O3 for Efficient Electrocatalytic CO2 Reduction to Formate.

The electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (ECO2RR) is a promising strategy for converting CO2 into high-value chemical products. However, the synthesis of effective and stable electrocatalysts capable of transforming CO2 into a specified product remains a huge challenge. Herein, we report a template-regulated strategy for the preparation of a Bi2O3-derived nanosheet catalyst with abundant porosity to achieve the expectantly efficient CO2-to-formate conversion. The resultant porous bismuth nanosheet (p-Bi) not only exhibited marked Faradaic efficiency of formate (FEformate), beyond 91% in a broad potential range from -0.75 to -1.1 V in the H-type cell, but also demonstrated an appreciable FEformate of 94% at a high current density of 262 mA cm-2 in the commercially important gas diffusion cell. State-of-the-art X-ray absorption near edge structure spectroscopy (XANES) and theoretical calculation unraveled the distinct formate production performance of the p-Bi catalyst, which was cocontributed by its smaller size, plentiful porous structure, and stronger Bi-O bond, thus accelerating the absorption of CO2 and promoting the subsequent formation of intermediates. This work provides an avenue to fabricate bismuth-based catalysts with high planar and porous morphologies for a broad portfolio of applications.

Perancangan Arsitektur Enterprise Menggunakan Framework TOGAF ADM Pada SMAN 3 Sidoarjo

Currently, SMAN 3 Sidoarjo does not have an enterprise architecture and integrated data. To increase the utilization of IT and IS at SMAN 3 Sidoarjo, development through enterprise architecture is needed. The essence of this proposal is to plan an architectural effort as an aid to improving IS and IT at SMAN 3 Sidoarjo in the future. The method used is The Open Group Architecture Framework – Architecture Development Method (TOGAF ADM). The information obtained utilizes qualitative research obtained from observations, document studies and interviews. The continued impact of this research is business architecture, data architecture, application architecture, and technology architecture. The selected design content includes application portfolio catalog, application/organization matrix, logical data diagram and computer network diagram. It is believed that this recommendation can be a reference for improving or developing IS and IT at SMAN 3 Sidoarjo to realize the vision and mission of SMAN 3 Sidoarjo through business architecture, information systems architecture and technology architecture..

An Assessment of the Ocular Toxicity of Two Major Sources of Environmental Exposure.

The effect of airborne exposure on the eye surface is an area in need of exploration, particularly in light of the increasing number of incidents occurring in both civilian and military settings. In this study, in silico methods based on a platform comprising a portfolio of software applications and a technology ecosystem are used to test potential surface ocular toxicity in data presented from Iraqi burn pits and the East Palestine, Ohio, train derailment. The purpose of this analysis is to gain a better understanding of the long-term impact of such an exposure to the ocular surface and the manifestation of surface irritation, including dry eye disease. In silico methods were used to determine ocular irritation to chemical compounds. A list of such chemicals was introduced from a number of publicly available sources for burn pits and train derailment. The results demonstrated high ocular irritation scores for some chemicals present in these exposure events. Such an analysis is designed to provide guidance related to the needed ophthalmologic care and follow-up in individuals who have been in proximity to burn pits or the train derailment and those who will experience future toxic exposure.

Encapsulation of Transketolase into In Vitro-Assembled Protein Nanocompartments Improves Thermal Stability.

Protein compartments offer definitive structures with a large potential design space that are of particular interest for green chemistry and therapeutic applications. One family of protein compartments, encapsulins, are simple prokaryotic nanocompartments that self-assemble from a single monomer into selectively permeable cages of between 18 and 42 nm. Over the past decade, encapsulins have been developed for a diverse application portfolio utilizing their defined cargo loading mechanisms and repetitive surface display. Although it has been demonstrated that encapsulation of non-native cargo proteins provides protection from protease activity, the thermal effects arising from enclosing cargo within encapsulins remain poorly understood. This study aimed to establish a methodology for loading a reporter protein into thermostable encapsulins to determine the resulting stability change of the cargo. Building on previous in vitro reassembly studies, we first investigated the effectiveness of in vitro reassembly and cargo-loading of two size classes of encapsulins Thermotoga maritima T = 1 and Myxococcus xanthus T = 3, using superfolder Green Fluorescent Protein. We show that the empty T. maritima capsid reassembles with higher yield than the M. xanthus capsid and that in vitro loading promotes the formation of the M. xanthus T = 3 capsid form over the T = 1 form, while overloading with cargo results in malformed T. maritima T = 1 encapsulins. For the stability study, a Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET)-probed industrially relevant enzyme cargo, transketolase, was then loaded into the T. maritima encapsulin. Our results show that site-specific orthogonal FRET labels can reveal changes in thermal unfolding of encapsulated cargo, suggesting that in vitro loading of transketolase into the T. maritima T = 1 encapsulin shell increases the thermal stability of the enzyme. This work supports the move toward fully harnessing structural, spatial, and functional control of in vitro assembled encapsulins with applications in cargo stabilization.

Vaginal irritation testing-prospects of human organotypic vaginal tissue culture models.

Personal lubricants intended for local or systemic delivery via the vaginal route can induce vaginal irritation, damage the vaginal epithelial barrier which can enhance microbial entry, induce inflammation, and alter the microbiome of the vaginal ecosystem. Therefore, manufacturers of personal lubricants and medical devices are required to show biocompatibility and safety assessment data to support regulatory decision-making within a specified context of use. Furthermore, due to ethical concerns and the introduction of the 7th amendment of the European Council Directive which bans animal testing for cosmetic ingredients and products coupled with the Food and Drug Administration modernization Act 2.0 guidelines, there is a wave of drive to develop alternative test methods to predict human responses to chemical or formulation exposure. In this framework, there is a potential to use three-dimensional organotypic human vaginal-ectocervical tissue models as a screening tool to predict the vaginal irritation potential of personal lubricants and medicaments. To be physiologically relevant, the in vitro tissue models need to be reconstructed using primary epithelial cells of the specific organ or tissue and produce organ-like structure and functionality that recapitulate the in vivo-like responses. Through the years, progress has been made and vaginal tissue models are manufactured under controlled conditions with a specified performance criterion, which leads to a high level of reproducibility and reliability. The utility of vaginal tissue models has been accelerated in the last 20years with an expanded portfolio of applications ranging from toxicity, inflammation, infection to drug safety, and efficacy studies. This article provides an overview of the state of the art of diversified applications of reconstructed vaginal tissue models and highlights their utility as a tool to predict vaginal irritation potential of feminine care products.

Intact cell mass spectrometry coupled with machine learning reveals minute changes induced by single gene silencing

Intact (whole) cell MALDI TOF mass spectrometry is a commonly used tool in clinical microbiology for several decades. Recently it was introduced to analysis of eukaryotic cells, including cancer and stem cells. Besides targeted metabolomic and proteomic applications, the intact cell MALDI TOF mass spectrometry provides a sufficient sensitivity and specificity to discriminate cell types, isogenous cell lines or even the metabolic states. This makes the intact cell MALDI TOF mass spectrometry a promising tool for quality control in advanced cell cultures with a potential to reveal batch-to-batch variation, aberrant clones, or unwanted shifts in cell phenotype. However, cellular alterations induced by change in expression of a single gene has not been addressed by intact cell mass spectrometry yet. In this work we used a well-characterized human ovarian cancer cell line SKOV3 with silenced expression of a tumor suppressor candidate 3 gene (TUSC3). TUSC3 is involved in co-translational N-glycosylation of proteins with well-known global impact on cell phenotype. Altogether, this experimental design represents a highly suitable model for optimization of intact cell mass spectrometry and analysis of spectral data. Here we investigated five machine learning algorithms (k-nearest neighbors, decision tree, random forest, partial least squares discrimination, and artificial neural network) and optimized their performance either in pure populations or in two-component mixtures composed of cells with normal or silenced expression of TUSC3. All five algorithms reached accuracy over 90 % and were able to reveal even subtle changes in mass spectra corresponding to alterations of TUSC3 expression. In summary, we demonstrate that spectral fingerprints generated by intact cell MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry coupled to a machine learning classifier can reveal minute changes induced by alteration of a single gene, and therefore contribute to the portfolio of quality control applications in routine cell and tissue cultures.

Towards Improved Hospital Services: IS/IT Strategic Recommendations for Muhammadiyah Hospital Based on Cost and Prioritization Analysis

This mixed-method study looks into the strategic priorities of information systems and technology (IS/IT) at Muhammadiyah Hospital in Sidoarjo, with a focus on long-term goals and alternative tactics. Using the Ward and Peppard approach, the research seeks to develop strategic suggestions and identify potential future application portfolios. The data was examined using cost-benefit analysis (CBA) and ranked using the Analytical Hierarchy Process. Furthermore, professional viewpoints were acquired through focus group discussions to evaluate IS/IT portfolio recommendations. The findings show that cost parameters play an important role in selecting developmental systems. The study emphasizes the need of using a multi-method approach in IS/IT strategic planning within healthcare, as well as the value of expert input in making good decisions. The findings provide a framework for Muhammadiyah Hospital to improve future services and go forward with key IS/IT projects.

Improving College Choice in Centralized Admissions: Experimental Evidence on the Importance of Precise Predictions

Abstract This paper provides the first experimental evidence of how admission outcomes in centralized systems depend on strategic college choice behaviors. Centralized college admissions simplify the application process and reduce students' informational barriers. However, such systems also reward informed and strategic college choices. In particular, centralized admissions can be difficult to navigate because they require students to understand how application portfolios and placement priorities map to admission probabilities. Using administrative data from one of the poorest provinces in China, I document that students made undermatched college choices that correlated with inaccurate predictions of admission probabilities. I then implemented a large-scale randomized experiment (N= 32,834) to provide treated students with either (a) an application guidebook or (b) a guidebook plus a school workshop. Results suggest that informing students on choosing colleges and majors based on precise predictions of admission probabilities can effectively improve student–college academic match by 0.1 to 0.2 standard deviation among compliers without substantially changing their college-major preferences.

Revealing the role of explainable AI: How does updating AI applications generate agility-driven performance?

This study examines the role of explainable AI in the relationship between updating a portfolio of AI applications and performance. Updating a portfolio of AI applications relates to a firm's dynamic capability to respond to the changes of the market. We propose a set of four hypotheses in which the impact of updating the portfolio of AI applications on firm performance is mediated by business process agility. Additionally, we suggest that building explainability into the portfolio of AI applications when firms update their portfolio acts as a moderator to generate greater agility, which in return improves overall firm performance. Data from a survey of IT executives were analyzed to validate our proposed hypotheses. The results from the survey were also evaluated by a qualitative focus group session. This research is a significant contribution to the emerging literature on dynamic capabilities as it presents and tests a theory regarding the influence of the firm capability to update the portfolio of AI applications on agility and firm performance and the role of explainable AI.

Perencanaan Strategis Sistem Informasi Sekolah Menengah Atas Menggunakan Ward Peppard

The implementation of the information system requires strategic planning in an organization so that the benefits of implementing an information system can be felt more optimally, this will be applied to high school schools in Jakarta. The problems faced by schools are quite diverse, starting with the management of school data to performance evaluations and the need for an integrated system for each division to support the organization's business processes. Strategic planning is made with targeted targets such as alignment of information systems in academic & non-academic processes and school data management, improving performance in infrastructure management, and increasing competitiveness by creating a website-based system for school promotion. Goals can be achieved by aligning the information system strategy with the organization's business strategy. To determine the information system strategy, the organization's current business strategy is needed. This information system strategic planning research was conducted using the Ward Peppard method. This method helps to be able to understand the organization more deeply before strategic planning is made. It includes SWOT analysis, Value Chain, PEST, Critical Success Factor, and Mcfarlan's Strategic Grid analysis in the form of strategy recommendations from the results of internal and external environmental analysis of school information systems, and application portfolios will be mapped to be applied to school organizations to achieve expected business goals

Agile Application Landscape Planning in Energy Sector – Architectural Experiences

The continuously changing and developing technology framework and IT infrastructure create novel approaches and possibilities all over the industry spectrum. Thus the energy and its IT supporting segment cannot be an exception either. Nowadays it is hard to imagine any kind of work process on energy generation, transmission, distribution or consumption filed without IT application solutions. To keep this portfolio transparent and effective a methodology is needed for developments and strategy planning. In this paper enterprise application landscape planning experiences and recommendations are introduced. The approach effectively combines the TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) and Agile methods. At the end of a five years ‘journey’, the evolution can be followed from a target architecture planning approach to a novel solution which is in use right now. To conclude this work a group of techniques and methods are suggested for the application of these solutions for a sustainable and forward-looking application portfolio at a reasonable cost level.

The structure and application portfolio of intricately architected silver cluster-assembled materials.

Silver Cluster-Assembled Materials (SCAMs) represent a new frontier of crystalline extended solids hallmarked by their customizable structures, commendable stabilities, and unique physical/chemical properties. Since their discovery in 2017, the diversity of organic linkers has endowed SCAMs with ingenious architectures and the application scenario has expanded beyond photoluminescence sensing to environmental sustainability and biomedical applications. It is critically important to chronicle these recent key advances and review the progress of SCAMs that can enable translating the material discoveries into real implementation. Herein, we provide a succinct overview of the trajectory of SCAM research, with crucial insights into atomic-level structural correlations with the phenomena at the nanoscale and discuss the gaps and opportunities that are still open in addition to charting a roadmap for future research directions.

Generic model of IoT Edge device for object monitoring via LoRaWAN

This article deals with the generic model for object monitoring and tracking in an industrial environment and manufacturing. We focus on the design of generic IoT Edge device model that enables the integration of various LoRa sensors independently on vendor solutions for common use cases. Our model is based on the MQTT protocol, which is proven for sensor applications and gives needed independency on proprietary protocols. The model was implemented in Node-RED software and subsequently validated with sensors of different vendors to confirm the generic approach and base for independent object tracking solutions. The proposed Edge device model supports independent object tracking, such as object status monitoring, localization and triggered events, giving independent approach for tailored solutions and wide application portfolio based on combined different sensors and devices.

Otolith biochronology for the long-term reconstruction of growth and stock dynamics of fish

Long-term biological time series are essential to evaluate previous responses of organisms to alterations in the environment. Biochronological methods based on archival fish otoliths allow setting such time series, but their predictive potential as proxies of past environmental conditions is still underexploited. In this study, we reconstructed growth variation in European sprat (Sprattus sprattus) in the Baltic Sea from 1956 to 2020 based on measurements of the archived otoliths. We used otolith annual increment widths as a proxy of fish somatic growth. We showed significant negative relationships between sprat growth and sprat spawning stock biomass (SSB) associated with strong intraspecific competition for limited food resources. We also identified a link between sprat growth and water salinity—indicator of the ecosystem's hydrological situation. For the first time, we estimated the SSB prior to the period of available historical data based on the otolith-derived information on the past growth variation. This estimation was based on the strong relationships between SSB and fish growth, complemented with temperature and salinity variables as predictors (R2 = 0.62). A model trained on at least 40 years of data from the more recent past allows us to robustly back-estimate SSB. This study provides new multidecadal data, giving insights into environmental factors affecting the growth of Baltic sprat, and demonstrates the potential of otolith-based biochronology for the provisioning of independent indices of the historical fish stock size. The proposed methodological approach broadens the portfolio of possible applications of the biochronology time series to indicate past changes in the aquatic environment.Graphical abstract

A portfolio selection of internet of things (IoTs) applications for the sustainable urban transportation: A novel hybrid multi criteria decision making approach

The nature of technological innovations is unpredictable, therefore decision making on disruptive technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) in many public sector organizations is undisciplined. Due to resource limitations and tremendous payoffs, there is a need to have a decision-making framework to manage technological innovations as a portfolio of investments that balances risk and reward simultaneously. This study provides a new portfolio matrix for decision making to identify IoT applications in the urban transportation sector for future investment based on two dimensions of impact on sustainable development (SD) and feasibility for implementing IoT using a novel hybrid multi criteria decision making approach. For this purpose, seventeen IoT applications in urban transportation were identified using a systematic literature review. The improved Fuzzy Cognitive Map (FCM) - Best Worth Method (BWM) method was used to determine the relationship between SD criteria and IoT challenges, and to calculate their importance. Then, the Additive Ratio Assessment (ARAS) method was used to prioritize the IoT applications based on SD criteria and IoT challenges. Finally, the adapted impact-feasibility matrix was used to simultaneously evaluate both criteria for selecting the IoT applications portfolio. Results of this paper show that bike sharing and car sharing have the first priority for investment in the case of a developing country.
