“We Know Little About the Early Bryusov...”: The Work of the Poet-Symbolist as Reflected in the Scholarly Heritage of N. K. Gudziy

The article attempts to talk about that part of the scholarly heritage of the literary historian, textual critic, teacher N.K. Gudziy, which is dedicated to the work of the poet, prose writer, literary critic, translator, public figure V.Ya. Bryusov. Based on unpublished archival materials, printed works, materials from Gudziy’s personal archive and correspondence, the scholar’s contribution to the development of domestic “Bruce studies” is characterized, and the main circumstances that influenced the formation of his reading and research interest in this topic are identified. In addition, the background to the birth of Gudziy’s main scholarly works, dedicated to Bryusov and the early stage of the formation of Russian symbolism, is presented, and the scholar’s active work at the 2nd Moscow State University, the State Academy of Artistic Sciences, and the “Circle in Memory of Valery Bryusov” is considered from the point of view of the researcher’s movement towards chosen topic and object of critical interest. The presented materials allow us to trace the fate of several research subjects – the history of early Russian symbolism, Bryusov’s youthful creativity, the change of his creative and critical interests, the role of the literary environment in the poet's life – from their birth and systematization of archival materials to printed embodiment.

“Image of the author” – Maria Komornicka/Piotr Odmieniec Włast— in Xięga poezji idyllicznej [The Book of Idyllic Poetry

The article is an attempt to reconstruct the “image of the author” perceived as a cognitive category. It is based on the interpretation of Maria Komornicka's Xięga poezji idyllicznej, the last work of the modernist poet's life. The image of the speaking subject that emerges from the texts is undefined and ambiguous. It takes on a mask, shapes and processes, constantly waiting for a change. It assumes a confessional role and becomes a source of finding the identity of Maria Komornicka/Piotr Odmieniec Włast.

SATYAJIT RAY AS A DOCUMENTARIAN: A STUDY ON RABINDRANATH TAGORE AND SUKUMAR RAY

Satyajit Ray, renowned globally for his cinematic brilliance, also left an indelible mark as a documentary filmmaker. It is to be mentioned here that the literatures and writings on Ray’s documentary are very less in number. Ray's documentaries on Rabindranath Tagore encapsulate the multifaceted persona of the Nobel laureate, exploring his literary contributions, artistic vision, and philosophical ideologies. Through meticulous research and visual finesse, Ray elucidates Tagore's timeless relevance, weaving together archival footage and dramatic reenactments to present a holistic portrayal of the poet's life and legacy. In his exploration of Sukumar Ray, Satyajit Ray ventures into the whimsical world of children's literature and satire to commemorate the centenary birth anniversary.This paper tries to discuss on documentaries made by Ray with special emphasis on Rabindranath Tagore and Sukumar Ray. Besides reviewing relevant literatures, the researchers have tried to describe two documentaries vividly. In addition to this, they also have taken insightful interviews of three literary and film scholars to understand Ray as documentarian. The interviews were analysed and conclusion have been drawn on the basis of that. The paper shows, beyond mere biographical documentation, Satyajit Ray's documentaries serve as nuanced reflections on the socio-cultural milieu of their respective times, offering profound insights into the artistic legacies of Rabindranath Tagore and Sukumar Ray. The paper serves to highlight the intricate nature of Ray's documentary legacy and its ongoing significance in influencing conversations within Indian cinema.

НАРОДНЫЙ ПЕВЕЦ Н. И. СТЕПАНОВ – НООРОЙ: ВЗАИМОДЕЙСТВИЕ ФОЛЬКЛОРНЫХ И ЛИТЕРАТУРНЫХ ТРАДИЦИЙ

This article touches on the problem of studying the interaction of folklore and literary traditions in the works of authors who came from the people, bearers of oral folk art. In Soviet times, in the literature of the peoples of the USSR, especially in newly written literature, folk singers played a significant role in poetic life. Their works successfully intertwined folklore and literary traditions: a certain synthesis of form and content occurred. In our work, we drew attention to the work of one author, Nikolai Stepanov – Nooroy, a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR, folk singer, olonkhosut, participant in the Great Patriotic War. The relevance of the article lies in the fact that until now the period of active creativity of folk singers of Yakutia, as authors, as creators of Soviet folklore, has been little studied. The subject of our research is the works of N. I. Stepanov – Nooroy, his songs and poems on Soviet themes. The work uses comparative, analytical, and analytical methods to reveal the interaction of folklore and literary traditions and the transformation of folk songs into original songs. The novelty of the research lies in the fact that this work studies the fusion of folklore and literary traditions, their interaction in the works of one author, a bearer of the traditional oral culture of the Sakha people. As a result of the study of the author’s poetic works on the Soviet theme, we concluded that in the poems, songs, and toyuks of N. I. Stepanov, the interaction of folklore and literary traditions is clearly observed. From the works of N. I. Stepanov it is clear that the folk singer, firstly, worked to preserve and transmit the traditions of folk art mainly in olonkho and toyuks, and secondly, he became one of the founders of a new type of folklore, a song genre called Soviet folklore. Stepanov’s songs about labor and workers can be considered historical, because they reflect reality and glorify real people. The writer’s poetic works on Soviet themes reflect historical facts and events of the Soviet period. His works have cultural value, and as works reflecting reality, they are a historical and cultural monument.

The Use of The Mask in Yeats’s Poetry

This paper aims to identify the use of the mask in Yeats's poetry shedding light on three poems written in the period (1910-1933). The researcher uses the literary analysis methodology to achieve the objective of the paper. The paper consists of three sections; the first gives an introduction and summarizes the poetic changes through the poet’s life, especially the social and political effects upon his psychology and literary works. The second discusses the use of the mask or anti-self-technique in the latest poems of Yeats and summons up the mask and some historical views about it. The third section concludes several points including that the mask technique is a part of the poet’s life due to his psychological state of mind and how it affects his matured poetic life.

Shakarim Kudaiberdiev's library as a reflection of spiritual and scientific quests: On the development of the poet's aesthetic and philosophical principles

Relevance. The relevance of the study of the specific features of the development of a person's philosophy and worldview is based on the fact that it is not always possible to establish them precisely. It mostly depends on their outlook and life experience. Thus, the issue of identifying the origins of the development of the worldview, philosophy and scientific views of the Kazakh poet, philosopher, and volost Shakarim Kudaiberdiev is relevant because it has not been sufficiently explored in Kazakh literary studies. Purpose. This study is intended to identify the specific features of the philosophical views and worldview of the Kazakh poet and philosopher Shakarim Kudaiberdiev. The purpose of this study is to discover the origins of the poet's worldview. Methodology. The main method used in the study is the desk research method: working with academic researchers on the subject. The method of bibliographic research, involving an analysis of Shakarim's biography and work, has also been applied, allowing identifying the factors that influenced the development of the thinker's and poet's philosophical views. Results. The study provides analysis not only of the poet's life and scientific and literary activities but also of the specific historical realities and cultural preferences of the artist. The study identifies factors that have affected the development of Shakarim's worldview: readership, education, environment, and the tragic events of the 20th century. The material in this study is of practical value for further bibliographic research. Conclusions. This study elucidates the unique philosophical views and worldview of Shakarim Kudaiberdiev by exploring the influences that shaped his intellectual and aesthetic development. The analysis reveals that Shakarim's philosophical and literary principles were significantly molded by his extensive readership, educational background, environmental factors, and the historical events of his time. OBSERVATIONS ON THE LIFE AND CREATIVITY OF MURODIY

In this article is discussed the bilingual poet Turamurod Sayid Muhammadhon's life and literary legacy during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It also examines Hasanmurod Laffasiy's “Tazkirayi shuaro” and Muhammad Yusuf Bayoni's works “Shajarayi Xorazmshohiy” and “Haft shuaro” providing insights into the poet's life and creativity from various sources, focusing on textual and literary-historical analysis. The sources are comparatively analyzed, and conclusions are drawn based on scholarly research.

Keyfi, his life and works in the Ottoman Archives

Research on the history of Kurdish literature requires more efforts. Especially all those poets who have left behind little material and little has been written about them. For various reasons, the Kurds have not been able to rewrite their literary history completely and accurately. In this respect, new information about them is gradually going to be revealed through the workings on uncovering the manuscripts of the world archives. Although the nineteenth century is the richest century in the history of literature, it has the most shortcomings on the lives and works of our poets. This research entitled (Keyfi, his life and works in the Ottoman Archives) has tried to reveal several aspects of this poet's life through the Ottoman and Western archives, especially revealing part of his life in Mosul, Istanbul, and his work as a translator, lawyer, linguist and journalist. Additionally, the study reveals the time and the place of his death, and investigates his relationship with Kurdish poets and his reflection in Kurdish journalism during the Ottoman period. This study resolves some of the debates that existed in the past century about the life of this poet and with this new information fills a gap in the biography of Keyfi in the history of Kurdish literature.

Introduction: Stevens and Germany, Stevens in (West) Germany

ABSTRACT: This first of two special issues on "Stevens and Germany" addresses a neglected topic. Five contributions by Philip McGowan, Gül Bilge Han, James Dowthwaite, George Kovalenko, and Christoph Irmscher explore the broad contours of Wallace Stevens's relation to Germany, spanning from youthful identification to tempered wartime and postwar reflections. The contributions also highlight moments in the poet's life and writing, including his visit to a German art exhibition in 1909 and his later genealogical research into the maternal, German side of the family. A related topic of scholarly neglect, at least in the United States, has been the postwar (West) German reception of Stevens. Not until the end of the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall was his poetry able to slough its initial reputation as elitist and conformist. A series of new translations, most of them appearing in the twenty-first century, have helped revitalize German interest in the American poet.

'This wretched state': Robert Burns's illness and the daybook of Charles Fleeming.

While now known globally as Scotland's national poet, in November 1781 the daybook of surgeon Charles Fleeming simply records him as 'Robert Burns, Lint Dresser'. Discovered in the 1950s, the daybook documents Fleeming's treatment of Burns during a period of illness which would have a profound impact on the poet's life and creative output. The book's discovery added to the theories about the nature of Burns's illness, often at odds with Burns's own later descriptions. This paper presents a fresh examination of Burns's treatment, challenging those theories by considering Fleeming's prescriptions in the context of key medical authorities of the time. In considering Burns's entry in the daybook in its entirety, the wider value of Fleeming's daybook as a private record of medical practice at the time is highlighted, pointing to the potential value of this and other such volumes as underappreciated archival research material.

The Ideological Heritage of Poet Nguyen Dinh Chieu in Promoting Ethnic Values Today

Objectives: This article aims to delve into the ideological legacy of poet Nguyen Dinh Chieu, focusing on key themes such as patriotic thought, the promotion of national heroism, ideas related to social reform, and humanistic perspectives. Additionally, the exploration extends to the poet's emphasis on promoting traditional cultural values. The overarching goal is to provide readers with a comprehensive and complete understanding of the valuable contributions embedded in Nguyen Dinh Chieu's thoughts.
 
 Methods: To achieve the outlined objectives, a meticulous analysis of Nguyen Dinh Chieu's writings and works is undertaken. This involves delving into historical and cultural contexts surrounding the poet's life to illuminate the influences on his ideological constructs. Furthermore, the study incorporates an examination of scholarly interpretations and critiques of Nguyen Dinh Chieu's contributions to ensure a well-rounded exploration.
 
 Results: The findings of this investigation reveal the multifaceted nature of Nguyen Dinh Chieu's ideological legacy. The article highlights the significance of his patriotic thought, the advocacy for national heroism, insights into social reform, and the infusion of humanistic ideals. Additionally, the role of traditional cultural values in shaping and enriching Nguyen Dinh Chieu's thoughts is identified and expounded upon.
 
 Conclusion: In conclusion, this article provides a holistic view of Nguyen Dinh Chieu's invaluable contributions to ideological discourse. The emphasis lies not only on understanding the various dimensions of his thoughts but also on the need to preserve, protect, and promote the poet's ideological values. Furthermore, the conclusion contemplates the enduring relevance of Nguyen Dinh Chieu's ideas in the ever-evolving landscape of international integration.

Ukrainian Identity of Vasyl Stus: the Concept of “Freedom” in the Movie “Prohibited”

Historical reactualization is a hallmark of the biofiction genre and a modern aesthetic tendency in art, that revolves around the reflection of political and social processes, which affect the common man of the 21st century. The scientific problem is the interpretation of history in art, the use of biography as a creative material in cinema and literature, the formation of reliable historical memory of Ukrainians, the debunking of "myths", overcoming post-colonial Ukrainian thinking, raising the issue of the consequences of ethnolinguistic nationalism. The aim is the underlining of the concepts “Freedom” and “Safety” in the film “Prohibited” 2019, the interpretation of the evolution Vasyl Stus artistic image in the biofiction “Prohibited” from “Unfreedom” to “Freedom” through “Danger”, the understanding of the conflict individual / power : artist / crowd. I propose to sharpen attention around the problem of ethnolinguistic nationalism through the mental conflict “Ukrainian” / “Russian”, in which the historical memory of the Ukrainian ethnos is revealed as an intellectual aspiration influenced by the experience /burden of 300 years of history. The biofiction of the life of Ukrainian poet Vasyl Stus, his ethical and moral position and aesthetic concept reveals the ethnic and cultural Ukrainian stratum, where the phenomenon of patriotism will be revealed at the level of the feeling “own”. Conflicts and characters uncover ideas: Vasyl Stus's love for his native land is his free choice, which reveals his individual virtues and prowess. In the pursuit of ethnic freedom, Vasyl Stus is revealed as having been defeated during his life, but gaining fame and recognition after his death. Vasyl Stus gave his life for: the development of Ukrainian literature, culture, art, and language. He is a patriot of “Ukrainian”. The poet's life is a version of art, it is wrapped around protest, around the non-acceptance by a talented individual of a totalitarian state, which suffocates and kills. Vasyl Stusy's steps are a resistance to Russian ethnolinguistic nationalism. The introduction of ethnolinguistic nationalism was imposed on everyone as the dominance Russian language, behind which is the discrimination of Ukrainians at the levels of: language, history, literature, culture, statehood.

Stylistic Analysis of Laxmi Prasad Devkota's Poem 'The Lunatic'

This study is based on a stylistic analysis of the poem 'The Lunatic' by a great modern poet of Nepal, Laxmi Prasad Devkota. This analysis focuses on the foregrounding, metaphors, graphological, phonological, morphological, and semantic levels to explore and analyze what the poet wants to convey by describing his own experiences, showing the complex relationship between the poet and people living in the society that is going through social transformation. Stylistic techniques and methods are tactfully used to unfold the hidden feelings and experiences of the poet's life. Keeping in view stylistics is the study of different devices employed in language that give literary style and beauty to any writing; this article aims to explore and reveal hidden realities of poetic lines used in the poem 'The Lunatic'. This analysis helps us understand the poetic expression that can beautifully provide the picture of social transformation through the conflict between the poet and society. The stylistic devices used in this poem are the setting of the poem, along with the figures of speech. This study examines how the changing social context affects the poet's feelings and thoughts when composing poetry. Furthermore, the article explores how figurative speech enhances the impact of poetry on the readers' thinking.

Abu Jalank Al-Halabi's Poetry

The paper studies one of the minor poets of the seventeenth century. He is from Damascus. He is Abu Jalank Ahmed Bin Abi Baker Al-Halabi. The poet is very famous of his excellent description. However, he has not been given his due of study by critics and no one collected his poems. The paper is divided into two parts. The first part is devoted to the poet's life and it examines the thematic and the aesthetic sides of his poetry which is composed in conventional metres and rhyme-schemes, well structured, delicate in expression and smoothly going. The second part is dedicated to collecting, editing and documenting his poetry relying on rare manuscripts, sources and printed works according to rules of sound scientific editing and verification.

MONOGRAM OF VLADIMIR KIRAKOSYAN"RUBEN SEVAK (LIFE AND WORK)"

V. Kirakosyan's scientific interests mostly include Armenian literature of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. When in 1967 he defended his Ph.D. thesis at the Institute of Literature after Manuk Abangyan on the life and work of the Western Armenian poet Ruben Sevak, who became a victim of the Genocide, only 8 years had passed since he graduated from the Department of Armenian Language and Literature of the Leninakan /Gyumri/ Pedagogical Institute. V. Kirakosyan set a task to open and comment in the artistic context of Western Armenian lyrics assessment of the literary heritage of Ruben Sevak at the turn of two centuries, noticing that the lyrical works of Ruben Sevak are contradictory, and at the same time one of the most interesting and capacious phenomena of Western Armenian literature at the beginning of the century. Trying not to break the ideological and artistic unity of the works of Sevak, Kirakosyan represents the characteristics of the general manifestations of the human, individual, social environment in the development of complex and contradictory manifestations of time, helps to perceive the seemingly complicated problems more clearly and descriptively. Vladimir Kirakosyan is endowed with a subtle sense of the poet, who presented the multi-thematic, multi-genre and multi-faceted work of Ruben Sevak so deeply and comprehensively that it became a kind of emotional bridge of poetry between the poet and the still unfamiliar reader. For Kirakosyan, the sacrament of love is evidence of the content and meaning of life. Namely this understanding of the issue gives the true shade and light to the love songs that form the core of Sevak's poetry. This approach is the reason of why the ideological and artistic unity of Sevak's works is so warmly reflected in Kirakosyan's imaginations. Trying not to violate it, the literary critic presents in the complex and contradictory manifestations of time a characteristic of the general manifestations of a person, an individual, a social environment, helps to perceive the seemingly complex problems more clearly and more obviously, without which Sevak's works would remain inaccessible and difficult phenomena. Love lyrics of Ruben Sevak by V. Kirakosyan reminds of the fairy tale of beautiful days gone. In gentle, romantic tones, the dawn of the poet's life and the legend of family happiness are depicted, which fades with the gloomy disaster that has overtaken the nation; and the beautiful narration of the bright soul is interrupted, by hands of murderers are interrupted both life, and love, and dreams... Sevak’s song on the homeland was also studied and gained significance, of the history and heroic battles of which the poet was proud, as thanks to them the nation has earned its right to live with dignity in this ancient and evil world. The literary critic Vladimir Kirakaosyan and the poet Ruben Sevak are similar in their perceptions and assessments, otherwise this successful union of song and interpretation would not have been created.

Intermediality and Transmedial Thanatography in Jacobo Fernández Serrano's Lois Pereiro: Breve encontro

Abstract In 2011, the poet Lois Pereiro (1958–1996) was honoured at the annual Día das Letras Galegas (Galician Literature Day). The Galician publishing industry released a plethora of texts about Pereiro, including Jacobo Fernández Serrano's comics biography Lois Pereiro: Breve encontro. This article examines the comic as an intermedial text that captures the influence of literature, films, music and comics in Pereiro's own writing. Furthermore, it is analysed as part of a transmedial network, together with other biographies published around the Día das Letras. These texts address the role played by death in the poet's life and work (as he died at an early age of rapeseed oil poisoning and AIDS), and they can therefore be understood as ‘thanatographies’ as much as life writing.

Sufi facts in the Diwan of Qadirī Dervish Gulāmī

Sufi facts in the Diwan of Qādirī Dervish Gulāmī, The path ‘Abd al-Qādir Gulāmī reflection in her poems in the Diwan of the Gulāmī, to which he is a follower, has been studied. The spiritual resources that the poets who own the diwan were fed are among the basic facts of the work. In order to grasp the depth of meaning in the poet's poems, it is necessary to consider the spiritual path he followed and the states he lived. Our study is important in terms of better understanding the meaning of his poems by examining the effect of the Qādirī, which is the main source of the spiritual elements that our Sufi Poet Gulāmī feeds on, on his Diwan The product of poets who have diwan in literature; It is the social, political and social mirror of the period. The way to understand his poems is to know the soul and spirit world of the poet. That's why, research has been carried out in order to clarify the place of the poet's poems in the world of meaning. One of the literary values ​​of Sivas,‘Abd al-Qādir Gulāmī , who completed his diwan at a young age, is known by the researches, which is one of the main sources he fed while creating his work. In our study, it is aimed to contribute to a better understanding of the poet's identity and the reflection of the sect on his poems by examining the mystical facts in his Diwan in detail. A literature review was conducted using the qualitative research method. The poet's life was compared with the relevant sources, and the detailed investigation of the Diwan transcribed by Meģmed Arslan and the scanning of mystical terms were made. Turkish-Islamic Literature is the carrier of literary facts that serve as a bridge between the past and the present. In our study, the diwan of Sivaslı ‘Abd al-Qādir Gulāmī, one of our 19th century poets, has survived to the present day; It has been studied in detail in terms of religion and mysticism, the literary and mystical personality of the poet has been investigated, and the mystical facts in the work have been studied. In terms of shedding light on the depth and richness of meaning in our Sufi poet's poems, the Qādirīyya sect, which he is a follower of, has been mentioned. He contributed to the understanding of the mystical facts in his poems and to the deep influence of the meaning. As a result of the researches and studies, it has been understood that the source of the depth in his poems is the richness of his spiritual world, as a representative of a tradition, as seen in the general of Sufi diwan poets. In this context, it is aimed to ensure that his poems and Gulāmī are seen better today and that they are likely to be spread later. *This article is extracted from my master thesis dissertation entitled Doç. Additionally, the research encompasses insights into his family background, offering context to understand the influences that molded him as a poet and a Sufi. In addition to documenting the poet's life, the research delves into Ibn-ul-Faridh's moral values, elucidating the principles and teachings he upheld throughout his journey. His spiritual path and the profound impact he had on the Sufi tradition are explored, highlighting the essence of his poetic expressions that continue to resonate with readers across generations. Drawing upon historical records, literary sources, and critical analyses, this comprehensive investigation provides a profound understanding of Ibn-ul-Faridh's life and works, offering readers a captivating glimpse into the world of a remarkable poet and Sufi, whose legacy endures as an embodiment of love, spirituality, and poetic brilliance.

Research on Audience Needs for Slow-Paced Amusement Shows from the Perspective of Uses and Gratification

Up against the impetuous and depressing fast-paced times, slow-paced amusement shows have come into being, which were watched by audiences with healing audio-visual presentations, turning the spiritual support for the audience to adjust their emotions and pursue poetic life. As a typical representative of slow-paced amusement shows, Back to Field has been a great success. However, the output of more and more similar programs makes it prominent in homogeneous modeling, leading the audience to lack emotional identity. Therefore, it is necessary to study audience needs. Based on the theory of uses and gratification, this paper takes Back to Field as an example and attempts to find out the trend of younger audiences as well as the reasons for diversified audience contact through the in-depth interview. In the era of audience orientation, it is conducive to grasping their needs, innovating constantly under their guidance, and actively leading their psychology, so as to create new glory in the slow-paced amusement industry and promote cultural self-confidence and self-improvement.

Sharaf al-Din ibn Hubayra, His Life and Poetry

Undoubtedly, there are many studies that have focused on the lives and poetry of famous poets. The majority of these studies have focused on the poetry of well-known poets. This does not indicate a weakness in these studies or their repetition, but rather the artistic characteristics, depth, and mystery of their poetry, and the variations in their collections would not have been revealed without those studies. However, this has resulted in neglecting other poets, or so-called obscure poets, not because of their lack of imagination or artistic talent, but because their poetry was less due to their political and personal circumstances. The poet we are studying is Sharaf al-Din bin al-Wazir Yahya bin Hubayra, who worked as a military commander and deputy in the ministry for his father. His circumstances prevented him from writing much poetry, but he would recite poetry when he read a poem that he admired, and he would compose a poem inspired by it, adding new meanings that the previous poet did not mention. His poetry was admired by the famous poet and literary writer Imad al-Din al-Isfahani, who mentioned him in his book "Kharidat al-Qasr" and "Jaridat al-Asr," which recorded the news of famous personalities of his time, such as caliphs, ministers, poets, writers, and celebrities. The news of the poet Sharaf al-Din is scattered in historical books, biographical sources, and media, and we do not know of a recent study that has collected his news and studied his poetry. However, there are two studies that have dealt with his father, the minister Yahya bin Hubayra: a doctoral thesis titled "The Minister Ibn Hubayra and his Jurisprudential Choices (A Comparative Study)," by Dr. Abd Sami Abd Muhammad al-Khalidi, and another study titled "The Delights of the Minister Ibn Hubayra al-Hanbali," by the author Sulaiman bin Saleh al-Kharashi. Both studies dealt with jurisprudential aspects. Therefore, we have conducted this research to study his life and poetry in an introduction and two chapters. The introduction briefly discusses the political life in the sixth century AH, as the poet was influenced by the political situation of his time. The first chapter discusses the poet's life, including his captivity, imprisonment, and death, and mentions news about his father and brother, as they worked together in serving the country during the reign of al-Muqtafi and his son al-Mustanjid. The second chapter discusses his poetry and includes poetic oppositions, and we analyzed a poem as a model for the study.
