This study investigates the design and characterization of a permanent magnet torque motor with a limited operating range. The design method and configuration that satisfy the range and torque at a specific applied current were determined. The motor was designed and analyzed through finite element analysis. This motor was then fabricated, and an experimental setup was constructed to measure the torque at various rotation angles and different currents. Approximate values were obtained by comparing the finite element and measured results, and the characteristics of the limited-angle rotary torque motor obtained through the analysis were verified.
