A nonlinear problem for a flat-plate hydrofoil is solved by using conformal mapping and the Riemann-Hilbert solution to a mixed-boundary-value problem in an auxiliary half-plane. Expressions are developed for plate length, lift and drag coefficients, and cavity configuration. All are given in terms of nonsingular quadratures for prescribed cavitation number and attack angle. The results are in quantitative agreement with experimental data and other nonlinear theories.
