Implementation of TQM Based on ESQ in Assalaam Modern Islamic Boarding School Temanggung

This research is based on the quality of Islamic education that needs to be improved. This study aims to analyze the implementation of TQM and ESQ in Assalaam Modern Islamic Boarding School Temanggung. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. Data collection was carried out using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results showed that: (1) Overall, Assalaam Modern Islamic Boarding School has implemented the TQM strategy well, with the principle of four things, namely customer satisfaction, respect for everyone, fact-based management, and continuous improvement. (2) ESQ at Assalaam Modern Islamic Boarding School is implemented by conducting trainings that focus on developing the personality and character of students, such as speech exercises and discussions. In addition, it is also taught always to implement three principles, namely the Pillars of Faith, the Pillars of Islam, and Ihsan (3). The students are taught how to convey religious messages clearly and easily understood by the community. However, not many students can become preachers in the community, and there still needs to be an improvement in the quality of learning and evaluation every year, especially in raising awareness and motivation for every student about the importance of being a preacher. This research recommends implementing ESQ-based TQM to improve the quality of learning in Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia.

EXAMINING THE CURRENT PRACTICE OF GOVERNANCE IN ZAKAT IN A MUSLIM MINORITY COUNTRY: THE CASE OF SRI LANKA

Zakat constitutes one of the pillars of Islam and religious practice in Islam aimed at supporting those in need. It also plays a major role in contributing to the socioeconomic development of society. To achieve efficient zakat management, institutions must focus on strong governance and proper management practices. This focus is essential due to the institution’s responsibility to manage effectively and provide transparent information to the public. Therefore, to meet stakeholder needs, non-profit organizations must prioritize governance. In Sri Lanka, the absence of specific laws or regulations governing zakat practice such as the Marriage and Divorce (Muslim) Act, the Muslim Intestate Succession Ordinance, and the Muslim Mosques and Charitable Trusts or Wakfs Act has led to a need for examination of current governance practices related to zakat collection and distribution. This study explores these practices and highlights how applying governance principles can help achieve the objectives (Maqasid) of zakat management in Sri Lanka. The research employs a doctrinal analysis of primary and secondary data, including statutes, practices, journals, and reports. Additionally, the study analyzes current zakat management practices through interviews with five respondents, including zakat practitioners and Shari’ah scholars, using thematic analysis. The findings reveal several issues: the causes of inefficient governance in zakat management, theoretical and practical problems with existing practices in Sri Lanka, gaps in the zakat governance framework, and conceptual and management deficiencies within zakat institutions. The study recommends developing a new governance framework for zakat management. This should include modern rules and practices based on Islamic law, staff training in fundamental Islamic knowledge, improved internal and external audit processes, and increased awareness among managers, donors, beneficiaries, and members of society.

Memaknai Puasa Ramadhan Pada Siswa Sekolah Dasar Negeri 2 Bantarsoka Purwokerto

Fasting is a part of the pillars of Islam, and its practice can feel burdensome as it requires controlling desires and abstaining from eating and drinking from dawn until sunset. Even adults sometimes find fasting difficult, let alone young children, such as elementary school students. Therefore, there is a need to strengthen the understanding of the meaning of Ramadan fasting. One way to provide students with a deeper understanding is by involving them in studies or listening to lectures on the theme of understanding the meaning of Ramadan fasting, which will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024/25 Ramadan 1445 H at SD Negeri 2 Bantarsoka Purwokerto. The purpose of this community service activity is to enhance students' knowledge about the meaning of Ramadan fasting from an early age. The methods used are lectures and question-and-answer sessions. The outcome of this community service activity (PkM) is that students do not find fasting to be burdensome, as they understand it to be a religious obligation for every Muslim.

This study, titled 'Narratives of Imam Al-Sadiq (AS) on Healing through Acts of Virtue in the Book 'Da'a'im al-Islam' by Judge Abu Hanifa al-Maghribi', encompasses a comprehensive exploration. It is structured into an introduction, two main sections, a conclusion, and findings. The first section provides an overview of Abu Hanifa al-Numan al-Maghribi, the author of 'Da'a'im al-Islam', and his other works. The second section delves into the narratives discussing healing through acts of virtue, as cited by Abu Hanifa al-Maghribi in his book, particularly focusing on the section dedicated to healing through virtuous deeds. This includes an analytical examination of the narratives attributed to Imam Al-Sadiq (AS).

Prayer is one of the five important pillars of Islam. This is an obligation that must be fulfilled by humans as a form of worship to Allah. Prayer is not only a religious ritual, but also a way to achieve the goal of perfect worship, by fulfilling the conditions, harmony, and sunnah, and avoiding anything that could cancel it. Even though prayer is not an obligation for young children such as those who have not reached puberty, parents have the responsibility to introduce prayer and other forms of worship from an early age. This research aims to explore the effectiveness of an educational program that focuses on teaching reading and prayer movements for children at TPQ AL – Faqih Gadungan, Puncu, Kediri. The method used in this research is PAR (Participatory Action Research). The research results showed a significant increase in children's prayer abilities because they felt happy and interested in praying both at TPQ and at home. This program also encourages them to get used to praying with full humility and tu'maninah, and to be able to recite the prayer readings fluently and correctly.

Peran Zakat Produktif dalam Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Mustahik

Zakat, as one of the pillars of Islam, has an important role in realizing social and economic justice for Muslims. One of the effective zakat distribution schemes in achieving this goal is productive zakat. This study aims to analyze the role of productive zakat in the economic empowerment of mustahik. The research method used is a literature study by reviewing various scientific sources, such as journals, books, and scientific articles. The results of the study indicate that productive zakat has a significant role in the economic empowerment of mustahik through several aspects such as zakat funds distributed in the form of business capital, training, and mentoring. This has brought significant benefits, such as increasing mustahik's income through profitable businesses, creating new jobs that reduce unemployment, increasing mustahik's skills and knowledge in managing businesses, increasing mustahik's self-confidence and independence by having their own income, and strengthening social solidarity among Muslims by helping mustahik escape poverty. With its various benefits, productive zakat is a solution for the economic empowerment of mustahik.

The Essence of Giving Food as The Spirit of Islam in The Book "الاءطعام روح الاءسلام " by Syeh Ali Bin Ali Bin Ibrahim U'dhobi

Social disparities are prevalent in our society. The imbalance in life and the terrifying contradictions among human lives continue to this day. These imbalances occur globally. We witness countries devastated by war, such as Palestine, Yemen, and Syria, where the inhabitants suffer from hunger and lack access to healthcare. Similarly, countries with high poverty rates like Cambodia, Myanmar, and Afghanistan experience hunger and poor sanitation. Conversely, there are many developed and prosperous countries with high income levels in other parts of the world. This study employs a literature review approach, examining verses from the Qur'an and hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad SAW concerning Ith’am as contained in the book "الاءطعام روح الاءسلام" by Syekh Ali bin Ali bin Ibrahim U’Dhobi. The book explains that Islam encourages people to help each other, have empathy, sympathy, and high social concern. As mentioned in Surah Adh-Dhariyat, verse 19: "And in their wealth, there is a right for those who ask and those who do not ask." Therefore, it is essential for Muslims to pay significant attention and care to convey and study the core teachings of Islam contained in Ith’am (charity by giving food). The five pillars of Islam (shahadah, prayer, fasting, zakat, and hajj) are the foundation of Islam and must be performed to be recognized as a Muslim. The pillars of Islam are closely related to Ith’am, making it a core teaching of Islam (the spirit of Islam).

The Criteria for Zakah Manager (Āmil Zakah), Qualification and Organizational Culture: A Review of Some Traditional Literature

Zakah is one of the pillars of Islam, which aims to be an instrument of equal distribution of income between the rich and the poor. In order to arrange, collect and distribute zakah property, it so called zakah manager (‘āmil) who works exclusively to take care of zakah. The command of a person who takes care of zakah is directly stated in the Qur'an (Surat At-Taubah [9]: 60). The role of zakah manager is one of the factors of success in the distribution of opinion in society. This paper aims to discuss in-depth analysis the criteria of zakah manager, it qualification and organizational culture in Islamic tradition. This paper is qualitative using documentation method in data collection. The review focuses specifically on the articles written in the areas of zakah management. It follows that the articles would be classified into four categories namely; the criteria for zakah manager, the appointement for zakah manager and its obligation, the qualification for zakah manager and its organizational culture.

Trends and Developments in Contemporary Zakat Administration

Zakat is a third pillar of Islam and has been considered as the mainstay of Islamic economics. It comes at the center of the five pillars of Islam, which some scholars interpret as providing balance between ibadat (worship) and muamalat (day to day human transactions). Historically it provides solutions to economic problems of the Muslims society. However, its application is reduced to individual levels with limited impact in many parts of the world. In the recent times, there is revival of the institution of zakat. Thus, the paper examines the contemporary developments on zakat particularly its potential and applications in Muslim countries and communities. The methodology adopted is content analysis with critical review of the literature. Secondary data were sourced from reports covering 2014 to 2020. The data was specifically analyzed based on the trends and potentials of zakat in Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa and the Russian Federation. The paper finds that, zakat in many Muslim jurisdictions has the potential of alleviating poverty and drastically reducing income inequality based on international standards. The implication of the study is that Muslim countries and communities should revive zakat and apply it in their mainstream economic system to solve their socio-economic problems.

Optimization of the Distribution of Zakat Infak Sedekah Funds on the Independence of Mustahik in Economic Program: A Case Study

Islam has five pillars of Islam, one of which is zakat, the potential for zakat if developed optimally from all Islamic communities and managed properly with its management will realize a very large amount of funds and can be used to overcome poverty. This research aims to answer three main problems, namely how the mechanism of LAZ Al Bunyan, on of zakat institution in Bogor City, in distributing zakat funds. This research aims to determine the optimization of the distribution of zakat infaq and shadaqah (ZIS) against mustahik independence in the economic program of Bogor city. This research uses qualitative methods with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include observations, interviews, and documentation. The result of this research is, in the distribution of the Amil Zakat Al-bunyan Institute in Bogor City in distributing zakat, infaq and alms funds using two ways, namely consumptive and productive distribution. The optimization of the distribution of zakat funds, infaq and alms looks at mustahik independence, can be seen from three factors, namely increasing income, business development, and having turned into a muzzaki. The obstacles faced by the Amil Zakat Al-bunyan Institute in the 2021-2022 economic program program are constrained by the covid-19 virus, lack of communication with local RT / RW and very steep locations and usually in the interior.

IMPLEMENTATION OF ZAKAT FUNDS TOWARD POVERTY ALLEVIATION THROUGH THE NATIONAL ZAKAT AGENCY OF BATU BARA DISTRICT

Zakat has great potential to become one of the main instruments in poverty alleviation efforts. Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam, so normatively it is an absolute obligation for every Muslim. The purpose of this research is to find out how zakat is distributed by the Batu Bara Regency National Zakat Amil Agency in its efforts to eradicate poverty, as well as identify factors that support and hinder the distribution of zakat. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection methods are observation, interviews, and documentation, using primary and secondary data. There were 5 informants in this study. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion verification. Source triangulation ensures the validity of the data used in this research. Based on research results, Baznas, Batu Bara Regency routinely distributes zakat funds every year using two main approaches, namely consumptive zakat and productive zakat, to overcome poverty. Through the Smart, Healthy, Pious and Caring Batu Bara Program, consumptive zakat is distributed to meet the basic needs of mustahik. Meanwhile, the Batu Bara Makmur Program is a productive zakat distribution program that empowers zakat recipients to be economically independent. However, poverty alleviation efforts could be more optimal because a larger proportion of zakat fund distribution occurs through consumptive zakat. Limited human resources cause a lack of supervision of zakat recipients, so the efforts made by productive zakat recipients last only a short time.

TINJAUAN KRITIS TERHADAP UNDANG-UNDANG NOMOR 8 TAHUN 2019 TENTANG PENYELENGGARAAN IBADAH HAJI DAN UMRAH OLEH KEMENAG KABUPATEN SORONG

The implementation of the pilgrimage has an important role for all Muslims around the world. Hajj completes the other 4 worships in the pillars of Islam. The implementation of the pilgrimage requires knowledge, guidance and direction from people who are experienced in the field of Hajj. The implementation of the pilgrimage carried out by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia can be an additional reference for prospective Hajj participants. The results of the study show that the implementation of the pilgrimage carried out by the Ministry of Religion of Sorong Regency is in accordance with the mandate of Law No. 8 of 2019 plus regulations from the Minister of Religion and also based on Islamic Shari'a guided by the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Increase knowledge to prospective pilgrims about the implementation of the pilgrimage and other knowledge and insights. Together with the Ministry of Religion, Sorong Regency, the success of the Hajj pilgrimage in Sorong Regency.

Pengetahuan Zakat Dalam Islam Untuk Masyarakat

One of the pillars of Islam is paying zakat. Zakat is part of the assets we have that we must spend if we have reached the specified conditions. For Muslims who have the means, of course they are obliged to pay zakat, for example when paying zakat fitrah in the month of Ramadan. Zakat will be distributed to people who are entitled to receive it. The existence of the obligation of zakat is stated in the Koran and must be believed by every Muslim. The purpose of zakat is to train our caring attitude towards the people around us, and to become a form of obedience of Muslims to Allah SWT. in fulfilling obligations. In giving zakat we need to be sincere, without expecting anything in return. Because by giving zakat, the blessings we get do not decrease but increase. However, there are still Muslims who are reluctant to contribute to paying zakat due to their lack of awareness of zakat obligations and the wisdom of zakat itself. Therefore, there is a need for further explanation regarding what zakat is, what its benefits are, what the law is in Islam and the wisdom of giving zakat.

Learning Guidance Of Islamic Religious Education In Improving The Implementation Of Worship And Students’ Morals At Elementary School Of Bonto Bontoa, Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency, Indonesia

This research discusses about Learning Guidance of Islamic Religious Education in Improving the Implementation of Worship and Students’ Morals at Elementary School of Bonto Bontoa, Somba Opu and information from informants qualitatively. This research was carried out at at Elementary School District, Gowa Regency, Indonesia. This study guidance is divided into two implementations, namely the learning guidance in the classroom and outside the classroom. The learning guidance in the classroom includes worship; pillars of Islam, prayer, fasting and alms. Moral learning guidance includes ethics, morality and etiquette for parents, teachers and other people. While the learning guidance outside the classroom includes remedial Islamic religious education (worship material), fast Islamic boarding school and prayer practice. The moral learning guidance includes the materials of students’ morals. This type of research is descriptive qualitative, namely field research which describes the data of Bonto Bontoa, Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency, Indonesia. This research employees a pedagogical approach as the application of educational science or the bases of educational science. The: primary data sources of this research were obtained from Elementary School of Bonto Bontoa, Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency, Indonesia which consists of students, teachers and staff of education. While the secondary data as the supporting one were obtained through studying articles, books written by experts, journals and government publications (laws and government regulations). The results of this research have implications for improving the implementation of worship and the students’ morals of Islamic Religious Education at Elementary School of Bonto Bontoa, Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency, Indonesia, namely: improving the mastery and implementation of worship, such as the ways of performing prayer, fasting, alms and moral. In this case, the students know and practice ethics, morality and attitude towards parents, teachers and can interact well in the community. This is the aim and benefit of learning guidance of Islamic Religious Education.

Hajj Financing Models: Fiqh Analysis of Payment Contracts for Hajj Funds at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Indonesia

Hajj is the perfecting of the pillars of Islam of a Muslim, the fifth pillar of Islam, and is carried out for those who are able. In Indonesia, the hajj is organized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) in Jakarta and the regional offices of MORA throughout Indonesian provinces. To repay funds, prospective pilgrims do so at the bank receiving the BPS-BPIH hajj deposit. The contract used when registering prospective Pilgrims is a wakalah contract. However, when they come to the bank, the bank will ask them what contract will be applied, whether wadi'ah or murabahah. This research aims to disclose the Payment of Funds for prospective Hajj Pilgrims and analyze the principles of the contract applied in the repayment of funds for prospective pilgrims. The type of research used is field research with qualitative methods using descriptive analysis. The data sources in this study are primary and secondary data, then use descriptive data analysis as material for research findings. There are two findings in this study. The first is the agreement on the repayment of the Hajj Pilgrim Candidate Fund, which starts from the Wakalah contract between prospective Pilgrims with the Ministry of Religious Affairs, then the Wadi'ah and or Mudharabah Contract between prospective Hajj Pilgrims with BPS-BPIH, and the Ijarah Mausufah fi Dzimmah agreement between prospective Pilgrims represented by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and BPKH as the Hajj fund manager. Second, the fiqh analysis of the principle of the contract applied to the Repayment of The Hajj Pilgrim Candidate Fund is Wakalah and is appropriate as it should be, but what needs to be considered is the understanding of prospective Pilgrims for the contracts that have been applied.

The Strategic Role of Zakat Management in Socio-Economic Empowerment of the Ummah

Zakat, one of the five pillars of Islam, holds significant potential for socio-economic empowerment within Muslim communities. This research delves into the strategic role of zakat management in Indonesia's socio-economic empowerment of the Ummah through a qualitative lens. Employing qualitative analysis, this study explores the mechanisms, challenges, and successes of zakat management in Indonesia and its impact on the socio-economic well-being of the Ummah. Through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and thematic coding, the research uncovers critical insights into how zakat management can be strategically leveraged to uplift the Ummah in Indonesia. The findings shed light on the importance of effective zakat management frameworks, institutional collaborations, and community engagement in fostering socio-economic empowerment among the Ummah.

Haji Ramah Lansia Antara Kenyataan dan Tantangan Istitha'ah Kesehatan

Hajj is one of the pillars of Islam that must be carried out by Muslims who are physically, financially and mentally able. However, with the increasing elderly population among Hajj pilgrims, special health challenges arise, requiring special attention to ensure that their needs are optimally met during the Hajj pilgrimage. This research aims to investigate the reality of the elderly-friendly Hajj program and the challenges related to the health istitha'ah (physical and mental abilities) of elderly pilgrims during the Hajj pilgrimage. This research uses qualitative methods with a health istitha'ah case study . Data was collected by conducting in-depth interviews with elderly Hajj pilgrims, Hajj medical officers, and representatives from related institutions. Data was also collected through participant observation during the Hajj pilgrimage. Data analysis was carried out thematically to identify general patterns in the experiences and challenges faced by elderly Hajj pilgrims. The research results show that the elderly-friendly Hajj program has produced several initiatives aimed at increasing accessibility and comfort for elderly Hajj pilgrims, such as the placement of special tents. and more affordable medical facilities. However, significant challenges still exist, especially related to the availability and quality of health services, a lack of understanding of the special needs of the elderly, and the physical and mental readiness of the congregation itself. This research provides valuable insights for parties involved in organizing Hajj pilgrims, including health authorities and Hajj organizers, to improve elderly-friendly Hajj programs and ensure that the health and welfare needs of elderly Hajj pilgrims are properly met. The practical implications of this research are also discussed in the context of providing more inclusive and sustainable health services for the elderly population in the context of the Hajj.

From Fiqh al-Ibadat to Muamalat: Repositioning Zakat Management in Indonesia in the Perspective of Maqāṣid Al-Sharī’ah

Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam and is considered an instrument that can potentially contribute to the economic development of the Muslim community in Indonesia. However, the current system and management of zakat have not been able to minimize the gap between the potential zakat that exists and the actual zakat that can be collected. This paper aims to examine zakat in its position as fiqh al-ibadat (Islamic jurisprudence of worship) and the consequences of its limited application, if not non-existent. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to complement existing literature by proposing a new solution to the problem of zakat. This empirical legal study employed the maqāṣid al-sharī’ah (objectives of Islamic law) approach. Data were collected by means of interview and literature review from relevant journal articles, books, and websites. The results of the study revealed that there is a need to reposition zakat from fiqh al-ibadat to fiqh muamalat. This will allow for more flexible zakat management that will have a maximum impact on the welfare of the Muslim community. Therefore, it can be argued that from the perspective of maqāṣid al-sharī’ah, zakat is not only an act of worship related to the purification of wealth, but more than that, zakat can also be an instrument to promote the welfare and economic development of society if it is managed effectively and properly. The change in meaning and paradigm is significant to ensure that the maqāṣid al-sharī’ah can be achieved effectively.

Tradisi Pernikahan Malam Songolikur Perspektif Hukum Islam: Studi Analisis Pendapat Kepala KUA Se-Kabupaten Jombang

Based on the author's observations during a practicum at the KUA, Tembelang District, Jombang Regency, the songolikur night wedding tradition was very troublesome for some of the headmen in several sub-districts in the District. Jombang because on that day dozens of marriages were held per sub-district and some even abandoned one of the pillars of Islam. On the one hand, the head of the KUA is subject to applicable customs, on the other hand the KUA does not dare to punish customs like this because customs like this on the other hand are against Islamic law itself. This is a type of field research. This time the author uses a qualitative method with a normative textual approach. The primary and secondary data were analyzed using Islamic legal theory. Songolikur night marriages, according to the views of the head of the KUA throughout Jombang Regency, are of the view that this marriage has two opinions, namely agreeing and disagreeing with its validity based on the dangers and benefits that occur in society, because there is no government agency that states with certainty regarding songolikur night marriages. For relevant government agencies, they should strengthen the rules regarding songolikur night marriages, so that there is no dualism between different laws.
