An Efficient Method for General Unbalanced Fault Analysis of Large Power Systems using Sparse ZBus

This paper presents an improved technique based on sparse Zbus and piecewise approach for general fault analysis of large power systems. Efficient algorithms for obtaining digital solutions by the proposed approach are described. These algorithms have been tested up to 118 bus systems and require minimum computational expense.

A Novel Piecewise Approach for Economic Load Dispatch

A novel and highly effective piecewise algorithm is developed for the evaluation of penalty factors which promises a tremendous potential for solving economic load dispatch problems of large power systems on relatively small computers. With the advent of small fast computers, storage is much more a limiting factor than speed. The novelty of the algorithm Is Its capability of evaluating the penalty factors In the minimal storage which is Independent of the system size. The potential application of the algorithm is demonstrated by using it for economic load dispatch solution for a sample 25 bus system.
