Highly active novel K2CO3 supported on MgFe2O4 magnetic nanocatalyst for low-temperature conversion of waste cooking oil to biodiesel: RSM optimization, kinetic, and thermodynamic studies

An innovative K2CO3/MgFe2O4 (KC/MGF) magnetic nanocatalyst for effective biodiesel generation from WCO is demonstrated here. To examine the physiochemical and morphological features of the catalyst, several characterization methods such as XRD, FT-IR, SEM-EDX, HR-TEM, AFM, XPS, BET, CO2-TPD, and VSM are used on the as-synthesized magnetic nanocatalyst. Optimization of K2CO3 loading on MgFe2O4 is achieved and 30KC/MGF was found as the optimum ratio. Response surface methodology (RSM) via central composite design (CCD) is constructed using optimization margins to clarify the optimal parametric conditions; catalyst loading (4–6 wt%), reaction time (90–120 min), and methanol to oil ratio (6:1–9:1) at a fixed low operating reaction temperature (50 ºC). The obtained optimum reaction conditions are 4.4 wt% catalyst loading, 108 min reaction time, 6.6:1 methanol to oil ratio, at 50 ºC achieving ca. 92.9% biodiesel conversion. 30KC/MGF is an energy-conserving magnetic nanocatalyst with excellent basicity that operates at low temperatures, for a markedly short period of time, and with a low methanol-to-oil molar ratio. Kinetics and thermodynamic parameters are estimated i.e., activation energy (Ea), change of enthalpy of activation (ΔH#), and change of entropy of activation (ΔS#) to be 31.5 kJ mol−1, 28.9 kJ mol −1, and −188.8 J mol−1 K−1, respectively. Gibbs free energy (ΔG#) is appraised at 308, 313, and 318 K to be 87.1, 88, and 88.9 kJ mol−1, respectively. Due to K+ leaching, utilizing 30KC/MGF in sequential runs results in a significant activity plummet. The catalyst activity is recovered by re-impregnation with K2CO3 precursor solution, resulting in the same high FAME conversion as fresh 30KC/MGF. Finally, the physicochemical properties of biodiesel are investigated and determined to be compliant with international American and European standards.

Estimation of the storage time of biodiesel at room temperature in mixture with natural antioxidants and metallic ions: A semi-empirical study

Biodiesel is derived from renewable sources and can be considered as an energy alternative to partially replace diesel. However, it contains unsaturated organic molecules in its composition, which increases its tendency towards oxidative degradation when exposed to oxygen in the air and metallic ions. Consequently, this leads to alterations in the physicochemical properties of biodiesel. To inhibit or delay the oxidative process and increase the induction period, natural extracts with antioxidant properties from gabiroba leaves (Campomanesia Xanthocarpa), jabuticaba peels (Myrciaria Cauliflora), and hibiscus flowers (Malvaviscus arboreus) were added. The samples’ oxidative stability was evaluated in the presence or absence of extracts, as well as Fe2+, Fe3+, and Cu2+ ions at temperatures of 110, 115, 120, and 125 °C, obtaining the induction period values. By extrapolating the experimental data of the logarithm of the IP values at different temperatures, the storage time at room temperature was estimated without altering the values determined during the experimental assays. The use of inedible products such as peels, leaves, and flowers, with antioxidant properties, not only aligns with the recommendations and legislation of several countries but also proves to be a viable alternative to synthetic substances for delaying the oxidation reaction of biodiesel.

Exploitation of freshwater fish waste as feedstock and Fenneropeneus indicus shrimp shell as catalyst source for biodiesel production

The current article emphasize on valorizing fishery waste such as Fenneropeneus indicus shrimp shell to derive catalyst for biodiesel production from freshwater fish waste (FFW) oil as an alternate solution to overcome environmental pollution. The catalyst characterization revealed that the catalyst derived by calcination of shrimp shell at 900 °C for 4h was crystalline, mesoporous and exhibited crystallite size of 42.28 nm, a surface area of 5.9861 m2/g and excellent basic strength (12.2< H < 15). As per the adopted central composite design (CCD) of response Surface Methodology (RSM), 1:11 mol/mol oil to methanol molar ratio, 6 wt% catalyst concentration, 65 °C reaction temperature, and 150 min reaction time were the optimum condition for maximum biodiesel yield of 82.57 wt%. The free fatty acid content (0.4%), acid value (0.84 mg KOH/g), iodine value (107 g I2/100 g), flash point (115 °C), and viscosity (7.48 mm2/s) ensured the application of biodiesel prepared from freshwater fish waste oil to be used as fuel. The physicochemical properties of biodiesel were evaluated to validate its feasibility. The FFW oil and calcined shrimp shell catalyst could be used as an alternate feedstock and catalyst source for sustainable biodiesel production and to reduce environmental pollution.

Review of physicochemical properties and spray characteristics of biodiesel.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 deal with seventeen goals for the planet's sustainability. The present review focuses on affordable and clean energy through the effective combustion of fuels with minimal pollution. Effective fuel spray characteristics are essential for combustion among various parameters and fuel properties. The inherent nature of the fuel has a functional relationship with the injection and injectors' conditions. Therefore, the study of fuels' physicochemical properties is essential. This review deals with the spray characteristics of biodiesel. Biodiesels in its purest form and blended with diesel, di-n-butyl ether, dimethyl ether, diethyl ether, ethanol, and butanol are considered for the study. The physicochemical properties of biodiesels, injection conditions, and injector constraints are analyzed to understand the spray process. The atomization features such as spray tip penetration, Sauter mean diameter, spray cone angle, spray area, and spray volume are analyzed. The chemical properties of biodiesel are utilized to describe the spray's transient behavior. In addition, supporting systems for spray diagnostics and models are also discussed. The highlighted significant spray challenges features and future research direction benefit the fuel and combustion community.

Stability of B50 biodiesel added with glycerol ester additive based on palm oil oleic acid

Biodiesel in Indonesia is a mixture of Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME) and diesel oil. Mixing FAME and diesel oil is challenging since FAME is separated from diesel oil at low temperatures. Changes in the physico-chemical properties of biodiesel during storage decrease biodiesel quality due to dissolved oxygen, potentially damaging the engine. Using glycerol ester (GE) as an additive can be an alternative solution to tackle that problem. This research examined the stability of GE-added biodiesel. As a comparison, commercial diethyl ether (DEE) additive was used. The concentration of additive added to biodiesel varied at 1000, 2000, and 3000 ppm while the storage temperature varied at 12, 25, and 42℃. The stability of biodiesel was evaluated for three months by measuring the acid value, viscosity, corrosion rate, and water content. The acid values ​​​​of the various types and concentrations of additives still meet the SNI 7182-2015 standard (0.5 mg KOH g-1 sample) with a value range of 0.148- 0.392 mg KOH g-1 sample. Kinematic viscosity had a value range of 3.12-3.58 cst, which also meets the SNI 7182-2015 standard (2.3-6 cst). The highest corrosion rate for GE and DEE was in the first week, with values of 0.447 and 0.261 mpy, respectively. Both B50 biodiesel control and the addition of 1000 ppm GE had the same water content value on the 18th day, which was 0.046%, and this value was considered the highest water content. This means adding an additive can maintain the water content in B50 biodiesel. Overall, GE additives in B50 biodiesel with various concentrations comply with SNI 7182-2015 standard.

Fatty Acid Alkyl Ester Production by One-Step Supercritical Transesterification of Beef Tallow by Using Ethanol, Iso-Butanol, and 1-Butanol

The effect of temperature was studied on the synthesis of fatty acid alkyl esters by means of transesterification of waste beef tallow using ethanol and, iso-butanol and 1-butanol at supercritical conditions. These alcohols are proposed for the synthesis of biodiesel in order to improve the cold flow properties of alkyl esters. Alcohol–beef tallow mixtures were fed to a high-pressure high-temperature autoclave at a constant molar ratio of 45:1. Reactions were carried out in the ranges of 310–390 °C and 310–420 °C for ethanol and iso-butanol, respectively; meanwhile, synthesis using 1-butanol was assessed only at 360 °C. After separation of fatty acid alkyl esters, these samples were characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to quantify yields, chemical composition, and molecular weight. Results indicated that yields enhanced as temperature increased; the maximum yields for fatty acid ethyl esters (FAEEs) were attained at 360 °C, and for fatty acid butyl esters (FABEs) were achieved at 375 °C; beyond these conditions, the alkyl ester yields reached equilibrium. Concerning the physicochemical properties of biodiesel, the predicted cetane number and cloud point were enhanced compared to those of fatty acid methyl esters.

Production, characterization, and emission characteristics of biodiesel derived from castor (Ricinus communis) and black mustard (Brassica nigra) seeds

In this work, biodiesel was synthesized from castor and black mustard oil seeds, through homogenous alkaline transesterification with methanol. The impact of parameters such as alcohol amount, catalyst quantity, temperature, and reaction time have been optimized. The yield of castor biodiesel (COB) was 93.53% w/w at 20.7 wt.% methanol, and black mustard biodiesel (MOB) was 93.88% w/w at 20 wt.% methanol. The other conditions wt.% KOH, temperature, and reaction time were 0.5, 60 °C, and 60 min respectively. (COB) and (MOB) were mixed with diesel fuel (DI) in various ratios to obtain (B5, B10, B15, B20, B30, and B50), and the physicochemical properties of biodiesel are measured employing ASTM standards. The diesel one-cylinder engine was used as a test engine. CO2, CO, NOx, and SO2 emissions from biodiesel and its blends were measured and compared to DI. COB and MOB blends emitted less CO2, CO, and SO2 emissions than DI, along with a slight increase in NOx emissions. Based on the results, (COB) and (MOB) were reliable substitute fuels for reducing environmental pollution.

Synthesis of Biodiesel from Ricinus communis L. Seed Oil, a Promising Non-Edible Feedstock Using Calcium Oxide Nanoparticles as a Catalyst

This work aimed to synthesize biodiesel from Ricinus communis L., using calcium oxide (CaO) nanoparticles as a catalyst. The CaO nanoparticles were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The physico-chemical properties of biodiesel were studied through H and C-NMR, GC-MS, FT-IR, and fuel properties were studied according to ASTM and EN standard methods. The oil content of the feedstock was 53.7% with a free fatty acid (FFA) content of 0.89 mg KOH/g. The suitable condition for the optimum yield (89%) of biodiesel was 1:15 of oil to methanol using 20 mg of catalyst at a temperature of 60 °C for 80 to 100 min of reaction time. The H and C-NMR confirm the biodiesel synthesis by showing important peaks at 3.661, 2.015–2.788, 24.83–34.16 and 174.26 and 130.15 ppm. Similarly, GC-MS spectroscopy confirmed 18 different types of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) in the biodiesel sample. FT-IR spectroscopy confirmed the synthesis of biodiesel by showing characteristic peaks of biodiesel formation in the range of 1725–1750 cm−1 and 1000–1300 cm−1. The fuel properties were compared with the international ASTM and EN standards. The physico-chemical properties confirm that RCB is both an engine and environmentally friendly fuel.

Biodiesel is biodegradable and non-toxic and has a low carbon content, high lubricity, and &lt;p&gt;Biodiesel is biodegradable and non-toxic and has a low carbon content, high lubricity, and higher ash point than diesel. The purpose of this study was to obtain data on the physicochemical properties of biodiesel from waste cooking oil (WCO) produced with different amounts of catalyst in the transesterification process. Methods This research carried out a two-step process: (1) esterification with an acid catalyst (H&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt;SO&lt;sub&gt;4&lt;/sub&gt;) and (2) transesterification with an alkali catalyst (KOH). The remaining frying oil is degummed by adding 2% H&lt;sub&gt;3&lt;/sub&gt;PO&lt;sub&gt;4&lt;/sub&gt;. Furthermore, the esterification process was carried out by adding 2% (v/v) H&lt;sub&gt;2&lt;/sub&gt;SO&lt;sub&gt;4&lt;/sub&gt; at 800 rpm for 90 minutes. The transesterification process using an alkaline catalyst (KOH) was varied from 0.7-1.5% at a temperature of 60 &lt;sup&gt;o&lt;/sup&gt;C with a rotation of 800 rpm and a time of 90 minutes. In the ester/transesterification process, the ratio of methanol: oil is 1:2 (v/v). The biofuels are then tested for cetane number, flash point, density, viscosity, calorific value, and others. The results showed that the amount of wet catalyst (KOH) in the transesterification process gave a difference in the yield of WCO oil. The optimum value was obtained at the amount of 1% KOH catalyst, which was 85%.&lt;/p&gt;

A novel approach for improved in-situ biodiesel production process from gamma-irradiated castor seeds using synergistic ultrasound and microwave irradiation: Process optimization and kinetic study

In the present work, first time, the process optimization of in-situ biodiesel production from gamma-irradiated castor seeds using the synergistic application of ultrasound and microwave irradiation has been studied and compared with the performance of normal castor seeds reported earlier. The optimum reaction conditions determined for gamma-irradiated in-situ biodiesel production process employing response surface methodology coupled with Box-Behnken Design are gamma radiation dosage of 9 kGy, methanol to oil molar ratio of 288:1, catalyst amount of 1.33%, reaction temperature of 52.5 °C, and reaction time 30 min. A maximum biodiesel yield of 96.04 ± 0.53% is obtained using gamma-irradiated castor seeds, which is higher by 2.54% compared to that of normal castor seeds. The gamma irradiation caused a significant reduction in methanol to oil molar ratio, catalyst loading, and energy consumption by 17.7%, 22.22%, and 12.5%, respectively, for in-situ transesterification of castor seeds. The reaction rate of the in-situ process has been improved by 30–40%, and activation energy has been decreased by 50% (14 kJ/mol) compared to normal castor seeds. Physico-chemical properties of biodiesel were compared with biodiesel standards (ASTM D6751 and EN 14214) and found satisfactory.

Comparative assessment of performance, combustion, and emission of compression ignition engine fuelled with different generations of biodiesel

ABSTRACT In the present research work, the performance, combustion and emission characteristics of compression ignition engine fuelled 22 different biodiesels categorised as (first, second, third generation, waste oil, and animal oil) biodiesel (B100) are evaluated numerically and compared with diesel fuel. Diesel-RK, a full-thermodynamic cycle engine analysis tool was used to carry out the numerical analysis. The engine power, fuel consumption, ignition delay, maximum cylinder pressure, oxides of nitrogen (NOx), and carbon dioxide (CO2) emission were investigated at four different engine operating loads. Power output was observed to be higher for Corn oil biodiesel, while Jatropha oil biodiesel produced lower fuel consumption among all other biodiesel. 9.1% increase in-cylinder peak pressure was found for waste transformer oil biodiesel than diesel, while ignition delay was found to be lowest for Rapeseed oil BD, Rice bran oil BD among all other biodiesel. The NOx emissions were higher for biodiesel by 30–32%, while CO2 emissions were reduced by 10–12% compared to diesel. The physicochemical properties of biodiesel were responsible for the diverse characteristics of the engine.

Eco-benign approach to produce biodiesel from neem oil using heterogeneous nano-catalysts and process optimization

Catalytic transesterification of vegetable oil is a promising technique for biodiesel production versus a base catalyzed process due to higher contents of free fatty acids (FFA). In transesterification process, FFA converts into mono-esters and oil pretreatment enable furnish optimal methyl ester yield. In the present investigation, Fe, Ni and Cu doped ZnO nano-catalysts were prepared by co-precipitation method and employed for the conversion of neem oil (non-edible) as function of temperature, reaction time, oil to methanol ratio, stirring speed and catalyst dose. In case of Ni doped ZnO, oil to methanol ratio 1:5, stirring speed 150 rpm, time 80 min, 2% catalyst dose and 60 °C temperature yielded 80% biodiesel. Under similar conditions, Fe and Cu doped ZnO furnished 95% and 85% yield, respectively. Kinetics and thermodynamic model used to find out the conversion of oil in to biodiesel and the R2 values of Fe, Ni and Cu doped ZnO catalysts are 0.8233, 0.8935 and 0.9286 and process followed the pseudo first order kinetics. The physicochemical properties of biodiesel were investigated and compared with standards. The result revealed that the Fe, Ni and Cu doped ZnO catalysts are promising heterogeneous catalysts for transesterification of oil to biodiesel under mild reaction conditions.

Fast Rate Production of Biodiesel from Neem Seed Oil Using a Catalyst Made from Banana Peel Ash Loaded with Metal Oxide (Li-CaO/Fe2 (SO4)3)

Biodiesel is a possible remedy to the present toxic, finite sources and ever-diminishing crude fuels. Nonedible and locally available (Azadirachta indica) neem seed oil (NSO) as a second-generation feedstock was transformed into biodiesel using calcined banana ash (CBA) derived from banana peels blended with lithium calcium oxide iron (III) sulphate Li-CaO/Fe2 (SO4)3 catalyzed transesterification. Transesterification process was employed to minimize the free fatty acid (FFA) content of NSO to afford 99.8% yield under the condition of the reaction oil/methanol ratio 8 : 1, followed by addition of 1.7%wt calcined banana peels ash and 1.3%wt Li-CaO/Fe2(SO4)3 catalysts in 53 min, a notable time. It is important to note that the physicochemical properties of biodiesel in this study such as initial boiling points, flash point, pour point, cloud point, density, kinematic viscosity, final boiling points, and cetane index met ASTM D-6751 and EN 14214 standards. Decomposition profile of CBA was displayed by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), whereas in-depth analysis by scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (X-RF), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) revealed that the high efficiency displayed by a catalyst from banana ash calcined at 650°C was due to the presence of potassium carbonate (K2CO3), a calcium magnesium silicate (CaMgSiO4), and potassium sodium sulphate (KNaSO4) contents that accounted for the high basicity of up to 11.09. Additionally, the nitrogen adsorption/desorption studies revealed that CBA interestingly exhibits a high BET surface area of 411.2 m2/g and promising mesopores (3.014 nm). The catalyst also displayed better recyclability evidenced by the fact that it was able to be reused after five successive runs with better recyclability of 75%. Based on the aforementioned properties, this work, therefore, opens an avenue for developing a supreme heterogeneous catalyst from available banana peels ash.

Study on physicochemical properties of biodiesel and Fischer–Tropsch diesel exhaust particle

ABSTRACT In this study, the physicochemical properties of exhaust particulate matter (PM) from the combustion of biodiesel, Fischer–Tropsch (F-T) diesel, and diesel are studied. The experiment was carried out on the four-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder diesel engine under the same engine operating conditions. The microstructure, particle size, box-counting dimension, element, and oxidation characteristics of the particles were studied. The results show that, compared with diesel particles, the average particle size of biodiesel particles is reduced by 10.8%, and the average particle size of F-T diesel particles is reduced by 27%. Biodiesel particles are closely arranged, followed by diesel particles, and F-T diesel particles are loose. Compared with diesel particles, the relative content of O element in biodiesel particles is high, and the relative content of O element in F-T diesel particles is low. The content of soluble organic fraction (SOF) in biodiesel, diesel, and F-T diesel particles was 23.4%, 17.6%, and 12.7%, respectively. In addition, compared with diesel particles, the activation energy of biodiesel particles is the lowest, while the activation energy of F-T diesel particles is the highest, it means that oxidation of biodiesel particles is more actively.

Characteristic of Hermetia illucens Fatty Acid and that of the Fatty Acid Methyl Ester Synthesize Based on Upcycling of Perishable Waste

Physicochemical properties of biodiesel are influenced by the characteristic of fatty acids including chain length, degree of unsaturation and composition of fatty acid. The aim of this work was to investigate the influence of Hermetia illucens fatty acid properties on biodiesel quality using a transesterification reaction. H. illucens larvae were grown on fruit waste and food waste. The harvested pre-pupae were processed into dry biomass and stored in a container for further use. H. illucens pre-pupae were transesterified with methanol in the presence of sulphuric acid as catalyst. The reaction was conducted using methanol to sample mass of 6:1, reaction time (255 min), reaction temperature (50 °C), and catalyst loading (20v/v%). Biodiesel quality was tested according to the ASTM and EN standard. The degree of unsaturation, long chain saturated factor and methyl ester composition of each biodiesel also influence the biofuel’s properties. Fatty acid extracted from the H. illucens biomass showed high saturated fatty acid (SFA) derived from both feeds. Lauric acids were found to be the predominant SFA. The properties of FAME produced under optimum conditions, including density, kinetic viscosity, copper strip corrosion, oxidation stability and cloud points were in accordance with EN 14214 and ASTM 6751 biodiesel standards.

Production process optimisation of Sterculia foetida methyl esters (biodiesel) using response surface methodology

Biodiesel from non-edible oil sources can be a promising solution to meet the ever-increasing fuel crisis and environmental degradation. Sterculia foetida is one of the less exploited biodiesel feedstocks with low free fatty acid (FFA) content. The present work focuses on the use of response surface methodology (RSM)-based optimisation of methyl ester production from S. foetida seeds through the trans-esterification process. Biodiesel process parameters viz., the concentration of catalyst, methanol ratio, reaction time and reaction temperature are examined maintaining a constant stir speed. This study reveals that an optimum methyl ester yield of 96.01 vol. % is obtained with a 26% methanol ratio (v/v) at a stir speed of 800 rpm, a reaction temperature of 63°C, 1.09% (w/w) of the catalyst and a reaction time of 135 min. The important physico-chemical properties of biodiesel and raw seed oil are evaluated and compared with ASTM-D6751 and EN-14214 specifications.

Prospect of Algal Biodiesel as a Fuel in Engine

The fossil fuel consumption has been swiftly increase by the robust industrialization and increasing living standard of society. So the biodiesel fuel becomes more popular material among the research for get ride over these problems because it is green fuel, sustainable and renewable. A microalga is the fastest growing species with high oil cosntents (up to 60%). In organic solvent extraction method, polar (methanol) and non-polar (hexane) solvents are preferred for oil extraction. GLC technique is used for esterification and seventeen forms of fatty acids are identified. A large amount of Cis-11-eicosanoic acid (41.80%) is found in algae oil. Different catalysts i.e. NaOH, CaO (Egg Shell), and H2SO4, with methanol is used for biodiesel preparation. The fuel properties are premeditated for blends i.e. B10, B20, B30, B50 and B100 as per standards. Pure biodiesel attributes like density, kinematic viscosity they are within biodiesel standards. Many researches pragmatic that these physicochemical properties of biodiesel has great influence on engine performance, so this article provides guidance for examine the behaviour of biodiesel in engine based upon their physiochemical properties.

Degumming Role of Sunflower Oil (Helianthus annuus) on Biodiesel Quality

Biodiesel, known as fatty acid methyl ester, has become more attractive as an alternative fuel for diesel engine because of its environmental benefits and the fact that it is made from renewable resources such as vegetable oil and animal fats by reacting them with short chain alcohols. Biodiesel has become increasingly important due to the following advantages: it is renewable, biodegradable, non-toxic, and eco-friendly. Crude sunflower oil may be a cheap source for biodiesel production. However, it contains high amount of phosphorus, which can inhibit the action of the catalyst during transesterification. Phosphorus removal from vegetable oils applied for diesel fuel is an essential process, since the presence of phosphors in direct use to the diesel engine might cause plugging in the engine filters, lines and injectors. In the biodiesel production, the use of crude vegetable oils without degumming might decrease conversion rate and hard to separate glycerol from biodiesel, during and after trans-esterification reaction respectively.Degumming role of crude sunflower oil on physicochemical properties of biodiesel was studied with determination of following parameters: phosphorus content, acidity value, peroxide value, viscosity, density, iodine value and saponification value. Degumming of sunflower oil is realysed by water degumming and by electrolyte degumming followed by a fast decrease of residual phosphorus content. The compared results showed that degumming process of sunflower oil has a role on biodiesel quality.

Effect of high-frequency microwave irradiation on Aegle Marmelos Correa oil extraction: kinetic and thermodynamic study

The oil extraction process parameters were optimized based on response surface methodology considering acetone and heptane as solvent and the effect of solvent polarity on oil yield were also studied. The optimized results reveal that oil extraction by MAE method was more efficient than maceration method. The maximum oil extraction yield 42.6% was obtained for the following optimized conditions: the solid-liquid ratio of 1:8, irradiation power of 340 W and at 20 min. Thermodynamic activation energy and enthalpy required for the oil extraction are found to 16.428 kJ/mol and 13.543 kJ/mol respectively. Biodiesel yield of 93% was obtained by undergoing microwave transesterification with 1:6 oil to methanol ratio, 60 oC reaction temperature and 0.5 wt.% catalyst at 10 min. Physicochemical properties of biodiesel were evaluated as per EN 14214 and ASTM D6751 standards. It has been found that Aegle marmelos Correa seed oil could be a suitable source for biodiesel production to meet the future energy demand.
