Factors Affecting User Satisfaction of Local Van (Songthaew): A Case Study of The Local Van (Songthaew) Route 1263 In Pattanakarn Road Soi 20, Bangkok

The research aims to identify the factors affecting satisfaction and suggestions from users of local van (songthaew) route 1263. This will propose measures to manage the operations and improve level of satisfaction. The researcher has established a set of questionnaires for 400 random respondents and using Multiple Regression Analysis to determine the correlation between factors that affect satisfaction. Discover correlations between factors influencing satisfaction using Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. It was found that factors affecting user satisfaction of local van (songthaew) route 1263 in Pattanakarn road soi 20 by the average satisfaction score of the factors that affect satisfaction (Y1) would be management (X1), physical aspects of vehicles (X2), service (X3), safety (X4) and environment (X5). The equation of predicting satisfaction is Y1 = -2.164E-15 + 0.148 X1 + 0.333 X2 + 0.259 X3 + 0.148 X4 + 0.111X5 The variables can predict the overall satisfaction (Y1) with adjusted R-Square all four factors have equivalent to 1.000 for accuracy (100.0%), the relationship between variables is equal to 1.000. The above equation shows the overall satisfaction across all with an average predictive value (Predicted Y1) of 3.28 (moderate satisfaction). There is a correlation (Pearson Correlation) among there five factors and their satisfaction in the order of the relationship as follow: service (r = 0.764), safety (r = 0.739), environment (r = 0.638), physical aspects of vehicles (r = 0.236) and management (r = 0.058) a significant relationship except for management. The top three additional suggestions from users are installation of GPS systems on the local van (songthaew) route 1263 for convenient passenger tracking (23.0%), decreasing the running time (15.5%), and repairing damaged seats (14.5%). Prioritizing the bus operations management and safety regulations must be established by relevant governmental agencies to promote customer satisfaction. Vehicle examinations must strictly adhere to substantial practices. Operators should receive training on safe driving and outstanding service to boost passenger confidence and service. User suggestions regarding the management are, for example, an appropriate schedule and bus operation punctuality. There should be collaboration between government agencies and the private sector in order to accommodate passengers on main public transportation while connecting with local ones. A public hearing among stakeholders from both the private and governmental sectors should be held in order to gain ideas for improvement, such as fare promotion. Customer satisfaction will be improved if the above measures, along with all other recommendations, are taken into serious consideration by the operator and government agencies.

The purpose of this study was to investigate relationship among screen golf service quality, cognitive and emotional responses on attitudes. The study recruited participants who had experience participating in screen golf facilities as the target population. Surveys were distributed primarily at screen golf facilities located in the capital area of Seoul and Gyeonggi province. A total surveys of 294 were used for analysis. The data processing methods included exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling. Based on the above results, the following conclusions are suggested. First, it was found that the physical environment aspect of screen golf facilities' service quality influences cognitive responses. Second, the physical environment aspect of screen golf facilities' service quality influences emotional responses. Third, cognitive responses were found to influence attitudes. Screen golf facilities should devise measures to improve the physical environment aspect of service quality.

Analysis of Land Use/Cover Characteristics and Dynamic of Changes in Huai River Basin from 2000 to 2020

Globally, land use is considered as one of the most closely related link between human being and nature. But land use/cover change (LULC) is regarded as the main cause for global environmental change with possible serious impact on human livelihoods and many parts of social and physical environmental aspects. Huai River Basin (HRB) is among the global river-land ecosystems that has been intensively altered by land use change. Unfortunately, the increasing land use change in HRB is not well scientifically addressed and still, related existing problems are not solved putting the basin ecological status and its basic grain production agricultural capacity at risks. This study adopted data image processing software and various mathematical statistical models to analyze the current LULC characteristics and dynamics of change in the study basin. From the analysis that adopted combined scientific techniques of CA-Markov, InVEST models with ArcGIS and IDRISI software, the results indicate that in 20 years of study, area of cultivated land in HRB declined by -4.34%, grassland declined by -21.28%, forest land declined by -3.22% and unused land declined by -18.84% while area of construction land increased by 26.38% and water area increased by 11.62%. Cultivated land was the major land use type in the basin while unused land was the minor land use type. Land use projection trend of HRB in 2035 predicts decline of areas coverage on cultivated land by -6.92%, on forestland by -9.20% and on grassland by -12.29%. But the basin is expected to have area increase on construction land by 30.07%, on water area by 15.03% and on unused land by 18.45%. Sports motivation in Chinese college students: A systematic review

BackgroundAccording to the 2014 National Physical Fitness and Health Monitor, people aged 9 to 22 exhibit limited physical activity, with a large proportion exercising for less than 1 h daily. China has focused on the study of college student sports motivation. This study comprehensively analyzed sports motivation studies and their relevant factors on Chinese college students. MethodsThe researchers searched CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure), WANFANG DATA, Cqvip, Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, and Cochrane Library for sports motivation in Chinese college students. Articles from 2018 to 2023 were searched. The final analysis included 30 pieces of literatures that met the topic criteria. ResultsThe results show that Chinese college students' sports motivation studies used large sample sizes and covered most of China. The main sports motivations are health, shape, and relaxation. Demography, psychology, social support, physical environment, and policy aspects affect sports motivation. Lack of use of qualitative and longitudinal studies. ConclusionIn the future, scholars who research the sports motivation of Chinese college students need to pay more attention to social support, physical environment, and policy. Furthermore, scholars may try to use qualitative and longitudinal studies.

Crop-Livestock Integration Improves Physical Soil, Agronomic and Environmental Aspects in Soybean Cultivation.

Soybean is one of the most widely grown crops in the world and technologies are increasingly needed to increase productivity without impacting environmental degradation. In this context, the aim was to evaluate the action of forage plants of the genus Brachiaria sp. in crop-livestock integration on physical soil, agronomic and environmental aspects of soybean cultivation. The experiment was conducted in a subdivided plot design with seven integrated systems corresponding to the previous cultivation of Paiaguas palisadegrass, Xaraes palisadegrass and Ruziziensis grass in monocropping and intercropped with maize, as well as maize in monocropping. In the subplots, two grass management systems were evaluated: free growth and a grazing simulation cut. The bulk density and least limiting water range were assessed using soil samples and, after the pastures were desiccated when the soybean crop was planted, straw decomposition and plantability. A soil physics diagnosis by the bulk density and least limiting water range showed that the Paiaguas palisadegrass and Xaraes palisadegrass improved the soil environment due to biological soil loosening. The remaining mulch biomass did not affect soybean sowing and the adoption of Brachiaria sp. grass in the off-season, in addition to contributing to the provision of environmental services, and did not compromise grain productivity in succession.

Improving the quality of life of diabetes mellitus patients through education on tips for being friendly with diabetes mellitus using audiovisual media

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic condition that occurs when the pancreas cannot produce enough insulin to regulate metabolism. Diabetes mellitus cannot be cured, but with good management it can prevent organ damage and failure. Diabetes mellitus has an impact on several aspects, namely: physical health aspects, psychological aspects, social aspects and environmental aspects. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of education on diabetes-friendly tips using audio-visual media on changes in the quality of life of diabetes mellitus patients. This research method is quasi-experimental. A total of 86 diabetes mellitus patients recorded in Abadijaya Village, Sukmajaya District, Depok were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the mean value of quality of life for the audio-visual media group before was 62.26 with SD 17.583 and after 70.26 with SD 16.441. Meanwhile, the mean value of quality of life for the leaflet group before was 61.60 with SD 19.336 and after 62.21 with SD 18.252. The results of statistical tests using the independent t-test showed that the difference in quality of life scores after being given treatment between the intervention group and the control group was p value 0.035 (<0.05). There is a significant influence between education on diabetes-friendly tips using audio-visual media compared to diabetes management education using leaflets in improving the quality of life of diabetes mellitus patients. It is hoped that this research can make educational videos on tips for being friendly with diabetes mellitus as a nursing intervention standard for patients with diabetes mellitus.

In a agency, aspects of work morale, interpersonal communication and physical work environment will be found. This study aims to determine the role of work enthusiasm, interpersonal communication and physical work environment on employee perfomance at SMPN 1 Plemahan. This study uses quantitative methods, sampling in this study using saturated samples totaling 62 employees. Data analysis techniques used in this study are validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, multiple liniear regression analysis, coefficient of determination, t test and F test. The results of this study indicate that 1) partially work enthusiasm has a positive and significant effect on employee perrfomance. 2) partially interpersonal communication has a positive and significant effect on employee perrfomance. 3) partially the physical work environment has a positive and significant effect on employee perrfomance. 4) simultaneously work enthusiasm, interpersonal communication and physical work environment have a positive and significant effect on employee perrfomance.

Are The Laws for Us or Against Us? Reinventing Environmental Sanitation Laws in Nigeria

Environmental sanitation has been defined as managing any aspects of a man's physical environment that might harm his physical, cognitive, or social health. Indoctrinating good environmental sanitation practices into its citizenry has been and remains a foremost concern for the Nigerian government, with several laws enacted at levels of government to achieve this target. Although there are many of these laws, compliance with environmental sanitation laws remains at its lowest ebb in Nigeria. Nigeria's current environmental sanitation situation reflects that these laws are obeyed more in abeyance, with many viewing compliances as a fool's errand rather than a necessary evil. The method used in this research is descriptive and doctrinal. This paper discusses the issue of environmental sanitation in Nigeria and examines the existing legal system for achieving a cleaner Nigeria. This paper posits that having a clean Nigeria is achievable and asserts that a bottom-up approach to environmental sanitation lawmaking in Nigeria is needed to achieve this goal. A participatory community module for sanitation lawmaking is recommended to ensure that the people understand the importance of these laws by taking ownership of the process rather than depending on the government for its actualization.

The relationship of land tenure, land use and land cover changes in Lake Victoria basin

Water basins characterise both physical and social environmental aspects such as land tenure. As such, the basins extend beyond spatial units of physical resources and human relations analysis to policy research and reform units. The comprehensive view of water basins in research goes along with an observed increase in anthropogenic-driven changes, such as land use and land cover changes, and cases of ineffective remedial measures to the adverse change, such as through applying integrated watershed management approaches. The human-induced land cover changes affect the water basin’s biodiversity, for instance, contributing to an increase in zoonotic disease outbreaks like coronaviruses. The Lake Victoria basin exhibits similar patterns of change and effects due to, among other factors, land tenure, whose contribution is less known empirically. Therefore, this paper integrates satellite imagery and catchment survey data to examine the relationship between land tenure and land uses and land cover changes in the Lake Victoria basin of Eastern Africa.Additionally, explore the contextual character and role of three land tenure systems of Customary, Native freehold and Mailo found in the Uganda country segment of the basin in explaining the outcomes. The aim is to provide information that, among other benefits, improves water basin management and governance. The results indicate a statistically significant relationship exists between the perceived extent of land use and land cover change; drivers of change; the extent of adopting sustainable land-use practices, and the prevailing land tenure. Though with different tenure systems, the three case study water catchments experienced adverse land use and cover changes. The changes mainly affected land tenure indicative land use and cover classes, prominently on the Customary, Mailo, and Native freehold land tenure systems. However, marginal differences occur among the land tenure systems, as the systems feature both de jure and de facto systems and an orientation towards customary tenure characters. The situation likely explains the observed closeness in perceptions regarding the role and relationship between land tenure and land use and cover changes, tenure systems character, perceived drivers of change and eventual outcomes, including the sustainable land use practices adoption. In addition to explaining the land use and cover change, land tenure is an essential tool for restoration and sustainable basin development and sustainability. We, thus, recommend land tenure responsiveness in water basin management approaches for sustainable societal development.

THE AGE-FRIENDLY COMMUNITY ENVIRONMENT FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO LIFE SATISFACTION OF OLDER ADULTS LIVING ALONE

Abstract Age-friendliness studies in Korea have investigated a few subsets of the local community environments for older adults’ well-being. Little is known about comprehensively understanding which aspects in community contexts can help older individuals living alone improve their life satisfaction. To address the knowledge gaps, this study utilized the raw data from the 2020 National Survey of Older Koreans, and responses of 3,112 older adult single-person households were investigated. From an ecological perspective, hierarchical regression analysis was performed by distinguishing the community environments into three categories of the World Health Organization’s age-friendly environments: physical, social, and service environments. The results showed that the perception of the physical environment (housing, living facilities, and space) was positively associated with life satisfaction. Second, the social environment (social involvement, neighbor interaction, respect for older individuals, and political activity) was positively related to life satisfaction. Third, perceived service environment (difficulty in utilizing service) was negatively related to life satisfaction. Based on the findings, we proposed political and practical recommendations. Specifically, as a physical environment aspect, effective budget allocation and policy attention should be required for the autonomy and independence of older adults living alone in their daily lives by ensuring that housing and circumstances are suitable for aging-in-place. As a societal component, initiatives must be established to promote participation in decision-making processes that result in a more favorable social perception through social inclusion. Finally, for the service environment, we must advocate for increased accessibility to community supportive services (mobility, health care, food delivery, communication, and information).

SELF CARE ASSISTANCE TOWARDS THE FAMILIES IN IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ELDERLY WITH DISABILITIES

The big role of the family as a person who is very close to the client is to be able to take good care of and even make the elderly with disabilities become independent and prosperous in the their old age. The quality of life of the elderly has 4 domains in their life, namely physical health, psychological health, social relations, and environmental aspects where these four needs must be fulfilled. If these needs are not met, problems will arise in the life of the elderly which can reduce their quality of life. The purpose of this study was to apply the Self Care Assistance for Families in Improving the Quality of Life of the Elderly in Rejang Lebong Regency. The research design used a Quasy Experiment using a Pretest-Postest with Control Group. The population of this study was elderly with disabilities, the sample was 20 people in the intervention group and 20 people in the control group. The results showed that there were differences in the application of self-care assistance by families in the intervention group and control group before and after being given assistance (p value 0.001) and there was an effect of assistance in the application of self-care assistance by families on the Quality of Life of the Elderly in Rejang Lebong district ( p value.0.001). Based on qualitative data after being given assistance to their families, elderly people with disabilities feel happy to be close to their families, their bodies feel cleaner and more comfortable, and they feel cared for. The conclusion is the self-care assistance can improve the quality of life for elderly people with disabilities.
 

Shift to Technology-Assisted Learning through Blended Mode: University Teachers’ Experience

This article explores the experiences of university teachers regarding the shift they have encountered in academia while using blended mode of learning. The study applies a qualitative interpretive design with semi-structured interviews to collect data. During the time of COVID-19 pandemic, almost all the universities in Nepal shifted their teaching mode from traditional face-to-face to online virtual teaching assisted by various information and communication technology (ICT) tools. Blended mode of learning is the amalgamation of traditional face-to-face learning and virtual learning supported by technology. The use of technology has become an integral part in higher studies to address the needs and challenges of various students. By the integration of virtual learning environment with the elements of face-to-face learning, flexibility can be made to include many students. Blended learning fills the gap by proving itself as an alternative mode in this rapidly changing and globalized world where almost everything has been digitalized. It also promotes self-regulated learning and improved student engagement. In the context when fully online mode is not possible, blended mode enables both teachers and students to cope up with the challenges. Problems concerning the speed of the internet, irregular power supply, lack of necessary devices and so on affect both online and blended modes. For the effective implementation, there is a lack of infrastructure development in both university classrooms and homes. Students can increase communication with teachers using blended mode so that learning can be enhanced which combines positive aspects of online and physical learning environment. The popularity of blended learning is increasing due to its inclusive nature and being an alternative method. The findings of the study indicate that blended learning, if systematically managed by making the provision of infrastructure development, can be applied as the best alternative for students’ learning enhancement.

The Correlation between Vitamin D Intake and Quality of Life in the 17-35 Age Group

Vitamin D testing increased significantly during the Coronavirus Disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemics due to its role in regulating the immune system. Therefore, vitamin D deficiency is associated with susceptibility to various diseases that may affect the quality of life regarding physical health, psychological well-being, social and environmental aspects. The study aimed to determine whether there is an association between vitamin D intake and quality of life in the 17 to 35-year-old age group. A cross-sectional study was conducted from April to November 2021. The sample consisted of students from the School of Medicine and Health Sciences Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, and their relatives in the same age group, who were selected using a consecutive sampling. Vitamin D intake was measured using Vitamin D Estimation Only - Food Frequency Questionnaire (VIDEO-FFQ). At the same time, the quality of life was assessed using the World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL)-BREF questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-square test. Of the 127 respondents, the results showed that most of respondents had inadequate vitamin D intake and good quality of life (68.50%;59.10%). The highest mean of the four quality of life domains belongs to the environmental domain (3.94) with a standard deviation (SD) of ± 0.83. Data analysis showed no significant correlation between vitamin D intake and quality of life (p>0.05). The conclusion shows that there was no correlation between vitamin D intake and quality of life in the 17–35-year age group.

Optimal Design and Verification of Informal Learning Spaces (ILS) in Chinese Universities Based on Visual Perception Analysis

As the focus on higher education in China gradually shifts from rapid development to an emphasis on quality, the need for campus environments to become facilitators of education has gained increasing attention. The accelerated development of information technology has also led to tremendous changes in both teaching and learning methods, with informal learning taking on an increasingly important role. Furthermore, the development of human sensing technology, especially visual perception technology, has brought in new opportunities for the research and optimization of informal learning spaces (ILSs) in universities. This paper focuses on the ILS in Chinese universities by exploring optimal design approaches based on visual perception analysis. Through research and field investigation, this paper proposes revised theoretical research of classifications and spatial elements of ILS in universities more applicable to the architectural study of space. This paper also explores practical optimal design methods with two case studies and makes experiments with wearable eye trackers to study the users’ perception in these spaces before and after optimization. The optimal design is made from the aspects of physical space, facilities, and environment. Visual perception experiments and quantitative analysis were used to obtain a higher level of experimental accuracy than the previous studies and thus to study the real feeling of users in spaces. By these means, the effect of the optimized design was verified and the relation between users’ perceptions and the spatial environments was explored for further improvements to optimal design methods. This article can provide theoretical and practical references for campus space optimization research and design, especially for ILS on university campuses.

Neighbourhood Conditions and Quality of Life Among Local and Immigrant Population in Norway

This paper explores the relationship between the quality of life and neighbourhood characteristics among immigrant and local population in Storhaug (Stavanger) and Grünerløkka (Oslo), two Norwegian neighbourhoods. The neighbourhood conditions have been analysed and inhabitants have been interviewed to collect objective and subjective data. Several dimensions have been considered, e.g., physical, environmental, mobility and psychological, with different indicators defining them. Objective data related to the physical layout, green spaces, transport system or environmental aspects are studied and complemented with the subjective information such as the satisfaction of the participants with these aspects. The data collection thus includes geographic, personal and qualitative data, and is analysed with the help of geographic and statistical analysis. Differences between the population groups and between the case study neighbourhoods are determined, being possible to conclude that specific neighbourhood conditions influence participants’ quality of life in these Norwegian minor settings. The local participants in this study are the ones taking more advantage of the physical, environmental and mobility dimensions at their residential area and reporting higher perceived quality of life. The results presented can provide relevant information for the effective and efficient planning and development of residential environments.

Quality of life, functional impairment and continuous performance task event-related potentials (ERPs) in young adults with ADHD and autism: A twin study.

Young adulthood is a key developmental period for understanding outcomes of childhood onset attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism. Measurement of functional impairment and quality of life (QoL) can provide important information on the real-life challenges associated with these conditions. Event-related potential (ERP) measures from the continuous performance task (CPT) have long been identified as altered in ADHD and autism but the role of these functions in the aetiological pathway to the disorders and associated impact on quality of life in young adulthood is unknown. We investigated the relationships between ADHD and autism, functional impairment, quality of life, and ERP measures from the cued CPT (CPT-OX) in a young adult twin sample (566 participants aged 22.43±0.96years old). We observed significant phenotypic correlations between ADHD/autism and lower quality of life with specific genetic overlap between ADHD and physical health, psychological, and environmental aspects. We found significant phenotypic and genetic correlations between ADHD and functional impairment in all domains, as well as between autism and impairment in social functioning and lower impairment in risk-taking. Both ADHD and autism were associated with attenuated amplitude of inhibitory and proactive control ERPs, with large genetic contributions to the overlap. We also found significant phenotypic correlations between these ERP measures and Weiss Functional Impairment Rating Scale (WFIRS) and QoL. This is the first study to investigate the phenotypic and genetic relationships between ADHD and autism, functional impairment, quality of life and ERP measures in young adulthood. Our findings could represent a step towards identifying ERP measures that are related to behaviour in the absence of overt symptoms.

The diverse coworking landscape and implications for commercial real estate provision: lessons from individual preferences and practice

PurposeCoworking (shared flexible working spaces) grew exponentially before the COVID-19 pandemic. The crisis led to spaces closing but demand is likely to increase as homeworking/remote working levels remain permanently higher post-pandemic. Previous studies largely focused on ‘satisfied customers’ – freelancers and entrepreneurs in the urban core; but these are a poor guide to future preferences given an increasingly diverse set of potential users. Understanding these preferences is of significant value to future providers, investors and real estate operators.Design/methodology/approachThe authors employ a mixed-methods approach, observing self-organised coworking sessions and online platforms, and a questionnaire of the coworking networks/groups. The authors address the research questions: i) how do individuals' make decisions about how and where to engage in shared working and ii) do they consider locational characteristics (beyond accessibility) and social and physical (environmental) aspects of coworking?FindingsProximity to home is a key result. Participants are mostly local and seek community, with a strong emphasis on effective work routines. Results stress the importance placed on social factors and in-space amenities, but affordability is also important. Coworkers experiencing both informal groups and organised spaces rate the informal experience as significantly more beneficial.Practical implicationsThere are implications for the real estate element of future provision and funding models.Originality/valueThe authors contribute to the understanding of coworking preferences/motivations through addressing methodological limitations of previous studies. Rather than surveying individuals in coworking spaces, the authors study individuals who engage in coworking in various forms which will reflect the diverse (users, spaces, locations) demands for future coworking.

Kontribusi Kebun Binatang Taman Rimbo Jambi Terhadap Aspek Sosial Ekonomi, Lingkungan Fisik dan Konservasi Satwa Eksitu

This study aimed to assess the contribution value of Taman Rimbo Jambi Zoo from the aspect of ex-situ animal conservation, socio-economic, and physical environment. Taman Rimbo Zoo is the only conservation institution in Jambi that has a form as an animal park and it has been established since 1980. Taman Rimbo Zoo is a specific conservation in Jambi that is expected to contribute value from the aspect of ex-situ conservation as the main function, socio-economic community, and physical environment. The opportunity of Taman Rimbo Zoo development is primely considering that there are still few places of flora and fauna recreation that are inexpensive, educative and healthy. The data collection techniques in this study are observation, literature study, and interview. Based on the results obtained, the contribution level of animal conservation aspect is very low (19.8). As the main function of the conservation aspect, it is necessary to prioritize the improvements in its management both in terms of animal welfare in breeding success and reducing mortality rates in the collection of animals. In the other side the contribution level of socio-economic aspect is high (28.8) because the existence of Taman Rimbo Zoo gives the opportunity to the local community in employment, business, and becomes a source of Regional Income for Jambi Province. Meanwhile the physical environment aspect, the contribution level is very low (15.0), it occurs since there is no management or utilization for liquid waste from activities in Taman Rimbo Zoo and the tree species in Taman Rimbo Zoo environment are still not optimal in absorbing pollutants. The achievement of Taman Rimbo Zoo contribution assessment from all aspects is 63.6, which means Taman Rimbo Zoo contribution is still considered low and need an improvement in its management.
