New strategy for mentally ill in Wales.

Nurses working with the mentally ill have welcomed a new strategy launched in Wales by Secretary of State Peter Walker, but called for crisis prevention teams to avoid hospital re-admissions.

Minister considers hospitals pun.

Welsh Secretary of State Peter Walker has agreed to consider plans for saving closure- threatened North Wales Hospitals. Plaid Cymru MP Dafydd Wigley has been asked to prepare detailed proposals for reprieving two of the half-dozen hospitals due to shut.

The October edition of Industrial Management featured the Nader‐style ‘consumerism’ building up in Britain with pressure groups harassing companies over the pollution issue. In November, this was followed by interviews with Environment Secretary Peter Walker, and with senior management men, defending the company role in the environment. Continuing the theme, five leading industrialists have written to Industrial Management, commenting on the articles. Here are their views.
