Sunflowers of hope. Some issues in social work with refugees and displaced persons in Croatia

Abstract This article describes the work of ‘Suncokret’, a Non-Governmental Organisation working in refugee camps in Croatia. The focus is on the history, philosophy and objectives of ‘Suncokret’ and situates them in a broader political context. In the process, some issues concerning the provision of social work for vulnerable communities are addressed more generally.
