Effects of Personalized Recommendation System Based on User Learning Behavior in English-Chinese Translation

Users may receive personalised information services and decision support from personalised recommendations. In this paper, a hybrid algorithm-based personalised recommendation approach for learning English is proposed. The user model is created by merging user interest tags, and the Person Rank algorithm is then recommended based on user information. Second, the question-and-answer model is created once the question-and-answer data has been labelled, and the Problem Rank algorithm is suggested in accordance with the question-and-answer data. Then, the approach of tag-based recommendation, comparable user recommendation, and multi-dimensional sliding window are used to construct the recommendation algorithm model. The experimental findings demonstrate that, following the model’s training with the gradient descent technique, the recommendation accuracy is steady at around 0.78, the suggested information can accommodate users who are learning English, and the personalised recommendation effect is enhanced.

Flipbook-based personal development information service model for enhancing self-awareness in late adolescents

Purpose: This study aims to develop a flipbook-based personal development information service model and examine the increase in self-awareness of late adolescents as a measure of its effectiveness. Method: This research used development research methods with an ADDIE design. The instruments used in this study were validation and practicality sheets, model needs analysis questionnaires, self-awareness questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The data processing used in this research is by processing data on the model's validity and practicality, and N-gain test analysis and Paired Sample t-test using SPSS version 24 were also carried out to evaluate effectiveness. Results: The research results obtained are: 1) assessment of the feasibility of the flipbook-based personal development information service model shows a high validity category with an average value of 91%, and its practicality is considered very practical to use with an average value of 87%; 2) assessment of effectiveness, there is a Sig.2 tailed value of 0.000 < 0.025, so Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted, as well as an increase in the average (Gain) of pretest and post-test data of 0.60, which is classified as a medium criterion. Based on the research results, the developed product model is effective and contributes to increasing self-awareness among high school students in late adolescence.

ZusammenfassungHintergrundDie Aneignung von Gesundheitsinformationen ist grundlegend für die Verantwortungsübernahme von Patient*innen. Um dies zu unterstützen, müssen neue Wege der Informationsbereitstellung gefunden werden. Im vorliegenden Beitrag werden die digitale, personalisierte Bereitstellung von Gesundheitsinformationen durch Ärzt*innen betrachtet und ihre Verbreitung sowie die Nutzungsintention und Anforderungen von Patient*innen und Ärzt*innen untersucht.MethodenDurchgeführt wurden jeweils eine Online-Befragung einer für die deutsche Bevölkerung stratifizierten Stichprobe von Patient*innen (N = 1000) sowie eine Online-Befragung von Ärzt*innen (N = 364) zum Thema digitale, personalisierte Gesundheitsinformationsangebote. Es wurden die Art der Informationsbereitstellung im ärztlichen Setting, die Nutzungsintention sowie Anforderungen an digitale Informationsangebote erfasst.ErgebnisseDigitale, personalisierte Informationsangebote sind bisher selten. RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERSONAL INFORMATION SERVICES AND SELF-EFFIICACT STUDENTS OF SMP NEGERI 22 JAMBI

Self-efficacy is the belief in an individual's ability to succeed in carrying out a particular task and this ability influences the belief in trying and maintaining it. Where self-efficacy can be influenced by personal information services including personal goals, achieving developmental tasks, socializing with the environment and adapting to the environment. The purpose of this study was to find out how the relationship between personal information services and the self-efficacy of SMP Negeri 22 Jambi City students. This research is a quantitative study using a correlation approach with Pearson product moment correlation analysis. The population in this study were students of class VII SMP Negeri 22 Jambi City. The sampling used random sampling technique with a total of 52 students. The data collection tool in this study was a questionnaire which had 22 items on personal information service variables and 20 items for self-efficacy. The data analysis techniques used were the normality test, linearity test and correlation analysis test. The results showed that there was a relationship between personal information services and the self-efficacy of students at SMP Negeri 22 Jambi City with the result that the percentage of personal information services was 83% and the results of the analysis of the percentage of self- efficacy was 74.2%. And the results of the correlation analysis show that there is a significant relationship between the personal information service variable and student self-efficacy with a value of 0.443 which is in a moderate correlation or adequate relationship.

Information Behaviour of Food Consumers: A Systematic Literature Review and a Future Research Agenda

Food communication is the main way for businesses to inform customers and guide purchasing behaviour. However, the value consumers perceive from such information remains unclear, and a complete understanding of the food information behaviour is still missing. For this reason, this paper outlines the results of a systematic literature review to identify, evaluate and synthesize the scientific food information behaviour domain according to the perceived value for consumers. The analysis shows that the current scientific literature is essentially centred on studying consumers and their behaviour in the food consumption process. Still, it lacks studies about the impact of the information on the overall perceived value of consumer food experience. The emergence and diffusion of personalized information services make this kind of study particularly suitable. In light of the fast pace of widespread technological evolution in the food sector, this issue represents a topic to be addressed in the following years.

Exploring the Links of Mobility-as-a-Service Platform Functionalities

Mobility as a Service (MaaS) includes services related to public and other shared mobility means of transport via an integrated mobile platform. Despite the existing initiatives and research regarding the optimal sets of platform features, the relationships and importance of these features (when seen as a network) are still under investigation. This study explores the relationships of MaaS platform features from the perspective of mobility service providers (MSPs) and commuters. We collected data via a focus group with five mobility experts and a survey (71 Dutch commuters). Our results show that optimizing the number and use of the vehicles and appropriate data handling are the essential features of a MaaS platform for the MSPs. Although retrieval of personal information and additional services (e.g., concert tickets) are welcome, they are considered less significant for the commuters.

Personalized Chinese Tourism Recommendation Algorithm Based on Knowledge Graph

Facing the massive tourism data, the recommendation system mines the user’s interest to provide a personalized information service. The Knowledge Graph is introduced into a recommendation system, as auxiliary information can effectively solve the problems about data sparse and cold-start. Therefore, this paper proposes a new algorithm of personalized Chinese tourism recommendation based on the Knowledge Graph. First of all, because lack of the public Chinese tourism Knowledge Graph, a complete Chinese tourism Knowledge Graph is built. Secondly, a new B-TransD (Bernoulli-TransD) knowledge representation model is proposed to reduce the probability of false negative triples. Finally, the method of user interest model based on the attribute information of users and tourist attractions is proposed to improve the performance of the recommendation system. Experiments are conducted on a data set containing 9100 tourist attractions. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves significant improvement over the existing algorithms.

Predicament and Outlet: The Deep Fusion of Information Technology and Political Thought Teaching in Institution of Higher Learning under the Background of Fragmented Learning Environment.

The ongoing integration of IT with various disciplines is a result of IT's constant penetration of the educational sector. This paper investigates how to further promote the deep integration of IT and political thought courses in institution of higher learning based on the fragmented learning background, starting from the current teaching situation of political thought courses in institution of higher learning, based on modern educational theory and supported by IT. Strengthening the relevance and affinity of political thought courses in institutions of higher learning and more effectively implementing the political thought instructional resource are examples of new approaches that can be explored to increase the effectiveness of political thought education and teaching. The integration model of political thought course instructional resources in higher education institutions is also constructed in this paper. According to the user's interest characteristics, the instructional resources are filtered, and the search service and recommendation service of political thought instructional resources are few but adequate. This model introduces personalized information service based on network into the instructional resource system, learning, and tracking users' personalized interests. The results of the experiments demonstrate that this algorithm has an accuracy of up to 95.03 percent. IT has a certain degree of applicability and dependability, and this study can offer valuable reference material for the deep integration of IT and political thought teaching in institutions of higher education against the backdrop of fragmented learning.

Personalized Information Service System of Smart Library Based on Multimedia Network Technology.

Scientific and objective book quality evaluation and research on the value of books in the smart library are conducive to improving the reading needs of readers. However, it is difficult to obtain the important coefficient of the subjective and objective weight of the personalized information service index of the smart library at present, which has the problem of poor system performance. Therefore, a personalized information service system of the smart library based on multimedia network technology is designed. In multimedia network technology, the data collector module, data retriever module, and data memory module of the system hardware are designed. The Ethernet interface is connected through three buses to ensure the efficient operation of the system; according to the hardware, the software flow is introduced, which is divided into UI layer, logical business layer, and data access layer. On this basis, the application program is designed, all operation instructions follow the association rules, and the single-chip microcomputer is connected with the voice chip through the SPI serial port, so as to complete the design of the personalized information service system of the smart library. The experimental results show that the average absolute deviation of the designed system is small, the comprehensive performance is strong, and the update delay is kept within 0.6 s, which can improve the work efficiency.

Peran Chatbot Dalam Mendukung Smart Service pada Smart Library

Chatbot is a digital technology based on artificial intelligence that has been utilized by various libraries to support the efficiency of information services. The use of chatbots is considered capable of creating a smart library ecosystem so it is important to continue to be developed so that customers are satisfied with the information services provided. This study aims to provide an overview of the benefits that can be obtained by libraries from implementing chatbots to achieve the concept of a smart library. The method used in this study is a literature review from the Google Scholar and Scopus database. There are 5 articles as the main research data. The results show that there are at least 2 benefits that can be obtained from implementing chatbots in library information services, namely: personalized information services and integration of cyberspace with libraries. In personalized information services, customers can get information that suits their needs without having to be overwhelmed with unnecessary information. As for integrating cyber space with real life, customers are able to access services without having to come to the location. Efficiency is the key word in the use of technology to support library services. More in-depth empirical research on chatbots, especially in Indonesia, needs to be carried out to be able to develop and evaluate the use of this technology.

Sharing economy, technological innovation and carbon emissions: Evidence from Chinese cities

The development of the sharing economy offers opportunities to reduce urban carbon emissions. Unfortunately, few studies have examined the impact of the sharing economy on urban carbon emissions from a holistic view based on the integration of local and neighborhood hierarchies. This paper examines the impact of the sharing economy on urban carbon emissions from 2011 to 2017 using a sample of 275 prefecture-level cities in China. The results show that the development of personal credit information services and digital finance both contribute to curbing urban carbon emissions. Technological innovation is not only beneficial to urban carbon emission reduction, but also has a negative moderating effect on the relationship between economic development and carbon emissions. Spatial spillover effects of the sharing economy help curb carbon emissions in neighboring cities. Finally, policy recommendations are presented to promote the collaborative economy and reduce urban carbon emissions.

Characteristics and information needs of patients with cancer contacting My Cancer Navigator (MCN): A personalized information service of the Anticancer Fund (ACF).

e13521 Background: The ACF is an independent private research foundation, based in Belgium and active internationally. Since its inception in 2013, patients and their relatives spontaneously contact the Fund to request information on treatment options including clinical trials. MCN consists of a dedicated team of physicians and scientists, which provides patients and healthcare professionals with free, evidence-based, unbiased, and personalised information to support shared decision-making. All patients receive a summary report, which is discussed in a (video)call with one of our physicians. The objective of the current study was to analyse the characteristics and information requests of people contacting us in 2020-2021 in order to better understand their needs. Methods: For every information request through MCN, the patient agreed to the collection of anonymised data such as sex, age, geographic location and tumor type. We tracked questions asked in 8 categories, tracking a category only once per patient and including only those requiring a literature search. Only descriptive statistics were applied. Results: In 2020-2021, we received information requests for 511 unique patients: 483 adults (95%) and 28 children (5%). In 46% of the cases the patient established contact; for 51% it was a relative or friend, and in 3% the physician. 377 patients (73%) were from Europe, of whom 222 (43%) from Belgium, 56 (11%) from the UK and 23 (5%) from the Netherlands. 109 patients (21%) came from all other continents – of those, 60 (12%) were from the USA. Tumor diagnoses included: gastro-intestinal (114, 22%), breast (110, 22%), central nervous system (77, 15%), gynecological (36, 7%), hematologic (35, 7%), genito-urinary (29, 6%), with sarcomas, lung, head and neck, skin and unknown cancers making up the remainder. Most patients had more than 1 question requiring research, resulting in a total of 880 questions. The Table shows the number and percentage for each category. Conclusions: Within this population, evidence-based information on treatment options, clinical trials, complementary treatments and repurposed drugs were key information needs. Healthcare institutions may lack resources to address all information needs, and My Cancer Navigator may contribute to closing that gap and support patients and healthcare providers. Although the service seems to be well perceived, we are now developing a method to formally assess satisfaction with and impact of our service.[Table: see text]

Construction and Promotion of Reading Service Platform of University Library Based on Computer Network Cloud Platform

This paper analyzes the basic framework, cloud service mode, and cloud service approach of digital library cloud service platform under cloud computing environment and studies the future development trend of cloud service platform and cloud service mode of digital library under cloud computing environment. This paper introduces the advantages of cloud service platform construction in digital reading promotion of university library in detail, expounds the construction and application of cloud service platform for digital reading promotion of university library, and puts forward the construction and promotion strategy of reading service platform of university library and the framework model of personalized information service of digital library. By describing the technical characteristics of cloud platform, the advantages of digital reading based on cloud platform are revealed, such as massive data storage, personalized service virtualization, and big data statistical analysis. On this basis, the innovation of digital reading promotion mode in colleges and universities is discussed. This study is conducive to promoting the standardized management of reading and information services and the rational allocation of resources in university libraries in order to provide some reference for the practice of building and popularizing the reading service platform of university library.

Investigating the peer Mentor-Mentee relationship: characterizing peer mentorship conversations between people with spinal cord injury

Purpose This study aimed to: (1) develop a coding manual to characterize topics discussed and conversation techniques used during peer mentorship conversations between people with spinal cord injury (SCI); (2) assess the reliability of the manual; and (3) apply the manual to characterize conversations. Materials/Methods The study was conducted in partnership with three Canadian provincial SCI organizations. Twenty-five phone conversations between SCI peer mentors and mentees were audio-recorded and transcribed verbatim. Ten transcripts were inductively analyzed to develop a coding manual identifying topics and techniques used during the conversations. Inductive technique codes were combined and deductively linked to motivational interviewing and behaviour change techniques. Two coders independently applied the coding manual to all transcripts. Code frequencies were calculated. Results The coding manual included 14 topics and 31 techniques. The most frequently coded topics were personal information, recreational programs, and chronic health services for mentors and mentees. The most frequently coded techniques were giving personal information, social smoothers, and closed question for mentors; and giving personal information, social smoothers, and sharing perspective for mentees. Conclusion This research provides insights into topics and techniques used during real-world peer mentorship conversations. Findings may be valuable for understanding and improving SCI peer mentorship programs. Implications for Rehabilitation SCI peer mentorship conversations address a wide range of rehabilitation topics ranging from acute care to living in the community. Identification of the topics discussed, and techniques used in SCI peer mentorship conversations can help to inform formalized efforts to train and educate acute and community-based rehabilitation professionals. Identifying commonly discussed topics in SCI peer mentorship conversation may help to ensure that peer mentors are equipped with the necessary knowledge and resources, or the development of those resources be prioritized. Developing a method to characterize the topics discussed and techniques used during SCI peer mentorship conversations may aid in designing methods to evaluate how rehabilitation professionals provide support to people with SCI.

A differentially private nonnegative matrix factorization for recommender system

Nonnegative matrix factorization (NMF)-based models have been proven to be highly effective and scalable in addressing collaborative filtering (CF) problems in the recommender system (RS). Since RS requires tremendous user data to provide personalized information services, the issue of data privacy has gained prominence. Although the differential privacy (DP) technique has been widely applied to RS, the requirement of nonnegativity makes it difficult to successfully incorporate DP into NMF. In this paper, a differentially private NMF (DPNMF) method is proposed by perturbing the coefficients of the polynomial expression of the objective function, which achieves a good trade-off between privacy protection and recommendation quality. Moreover, to alleviate the influence of the noises added by DP on the items with sparse ratings, an imputation-based DPNMF (IDPNMF) method is proposed. Theoretic analyses and experimental results on several benchmark datasets show that the proposed schemes have good performance and can achieve better recommendation quality on large-scale datasets. Therefore, our schemes have high potential to implement privacy-preserving RS based on big data.

A model for mobile curation services in academic libraries

PurposeTo better respond to user needs for personalized information services in the context of academic libraries, this study aims at developing a prototype to provide mobile curation services by using the concept of content curation.Design/methodology/approachThis study used a mobile application software development process, which consisted of five phases: user and organizational requirements, architecture design, navigation design, page design and implementation and usability testing. Usability testing was conducted with a total of 20 college students by online surveys at a university.FindingsMeta-analysis identified key user needs: diversification of services, more personalized services, active communication with librarians, quality improvement of information and interface improvement. User and organizational requirements derived four main service modules – namely, Curation Services, Live Chat, My Page and My Log. Usability testing regarding ease of use, perceived usefulness and satisfaction indicated that participants were satisfied with the prototype.Research limitations/implicationsThe study extends the discussion of quality academic library services by introducing the concept of content curation that uses the advantages of mobile technologies to overcome existing limitations in library services insufficient for meeting individual user needs.Originality/valueAlthough many studies have discussed mobile library services, few studies have focused on developing a system for such services. The model developed in the study fills the research gap. Above all, the key modules specified by the prototype – Curation Services, Live Chat, My Page and My Log services – are expected to improve existing research and learning support services currently offered by academic libraries.

Role Expectations and Observed Performance of School Counsellors in Edo State of Nigeria

This study investigated school counsellors’ awareness of their cognate role expectations and the observed performance of these roles. Three research questions were raised as guide for the study. The descriptive survey research design was used for the study. Purposive sampling procedure was used to select twenty public schools with professional counsellors in Edo State. From the selected schools, five students each from Senior Secondary School Two (SS2), who volunteered to participate in the study, were used for data collection. Two structured self-constructed questionnaire were personally administered by the researcher, one for counsellors and one for students. The data obtained were analysed using frequency counts and percentages, and mean ratings. The results obtained revealed that counsellors were aware of all their role expectations except in the area of appraisal service, counsellors role performances were unsatisfactory in the areas of orientation service, appraisal service, vocational and personal social services and information service. The counsellors however, performed satisfactorily in other five areas such as; individual and group counselling, educational counselling, follow up and referral counselling services and there were evidences of constraints to effective implementation of counselling services in the schools studied. Based on the findings of the study, some recommendations were made that school principals should be more supportive of the school counsellors’ work and also there should be regular workshop for training and retraining of school counsellors to enable them upgrade their knowledge and skills. It is hoped that the recommendations put forward in this paper, would go a long way in promoting counselling services in the schools, while further sustained research on this subject matter is required. PERAN GAWAI MOBILE DALAM MENDUKUNG LAYANAN INFORMASI PERPUSTAKAAN DIGITAL YANG TERPERSONALISASI

Personalized information service is an information service delivered by digital libraries so that users can only get information according to their needs online. This article is a conceptual study that examines the role of mobile devices as technology to support personalized information services from the aspects of user data collection and service delivery. Data obtained through literature review of scientific articles that have relevance to the main concept. The results showed that mobile devices have a role in sending data and accessing library services efficiently. As a two-way communication medium, mobile devices can send various forms of feedback to the library which eventually become data for further analysis. As for service access, mobile devices can support mobile applications so that there are several traditional services that can be accessed online anywhere and anytime. Not only data in the form of text, technological developments have been able to analyze data in other types, one of which is in the form of voice. The development of technology in the 4.0 industrial revolution has also become an aspect that encourages efficiency because it can bring about automation in the aspects of data collection and access to library services.

Research on Intelligent Information System of Library under Big Data and Digitization Technology

In the big data environment, we develop personalized information of college libraries based on big data from three aspects: the overall architecture of the system model, the functional model of the system, and the design of system interface modules according to the design principles and requirements of the personalized information service system of the university library Service system design. In terms of the functional design of the platform, the service platform is divided into four levels: accurate identification of user needs based on big data, personalized customized services based on artificial intelligence, academic research and discussion space based on integrated media, and fine-grained subject resource aggregation based on knowledge. On this basis, a centralized model of individualized services of university libraries including internal and external personnel, information resources, technology, services, processes, platforms, and environment has been constructed.
