EFFECT OF FOREIGN DEBT ON LITERACY RATE IN KENYA

<p>This paper investigated the effect of foreign debt on literacy rate in Kenya. In the fiscal year 2021/2022, public debt as a percentage of gross domestic product was 67 per cent, which was higher than the debt ceiling of 55 per cent of gross domestic product. External debt accounted for 52% of this total debt as of 2022, exhibiting a consistent increase since 2013, surpassing domestic debt. The burden of servicing foreign debt may subsequently pose a challenge to the government in fulfilling its commitments in the education sector. Consequently, lower literacy rates impede a nation's socio-economic progress as literacy is critical for promoting peace and adopting new technologies, both of which drive development. This study used the primary school completion rate as a proxy for literacy. Secondary data published in international and national organizations from 1990 to 2021 was employed for analysis. The study’s theoretical framework was pegged on a consumer utility maximization of a merit-good education constrained by the government's financing. The relevant time series and diagnostic tests were performed on the data series and models. Auto Regressive Distributed Lag model was used for estimation using ordinary least squares. The findings were that foreign debt hurt literacy rate in the long run and had a positive effect in the short run. Charting the course: India’s health expenditure projections for 2035

ObjectivesUnderstanding past trends and forecasting future changes in health spending is vital for planning and reducing reliance on out-of-pocket (OOP) expenses. The current study analyzed health expenditure patterns in India and forecasted future trends and patterns until 2035. MethodsData on health expenditure in India from 2000 to 2019 was collected from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) iLibrary and National Health Accounts 2019 databases. Gross domestic product (GDP) data from the World Bank was also utilized. Descriptive statistics analyzed the composition and pattern, while the exponential smoothing model forecasted future health expenditures. ResultsThe findings revealed that expenditure made by OOP is the primary health financing source, followed by government and pre-paid private spending. The percentage of GDP allocated to total health expenditure remains stable, while the per capita health expenditure fluctuates. Variations in expenditure among states are observed, with Karnataka relying heavily on pre-paid private coverage. Future projections suggest a decline in per capita and total health expenditure as a share of GDP, with a slight increase in the government’s share. Pre-paid private expenditure per capita and OOP health expenditure as a share of the total is projected to remain relatively constant but still high in absolute terms. ConclusionThe study highlights variations in health spending in India, characterized by high OOP spending, limited public coverage, and a need for investments, and reforms to improve healthcare access and equity.

Persistent inequities in maternal mortality in Latin America and the Caribbean, 1990–2019

BackgroundDespite the resources and personnel mobilized in Latin America and the Caribbean to reduce the maternal mortality ratio (MMR, maternal deaths per 100 000 live births) in women aged 10–54 years by 75% between 2000 and 2015, the region failed to meet the Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) due to persistent barriers to access quality reproductive, maternal, and neonatal health services.MethodsUsing 1990–2019 data from the Global Burden of Disease project, we carried out a two-stepwise analysis to (a) identify the differences in the MMR temporal patterns and (b) assess its relationship with selected indicators: government health expenditure (GHE), the GHE as percentage of gross domestic product (GDP), the availability of human resources for health (HRH), the coverage of effective interventions to reduce maternal mortality, and the level of economic development of each country.FindingsIn the descriptive analysis, we observed a heterogeneous overall reduction of MMR in the region between 1990 and 2019 and heterogeneous overall increases in the GHE, GHE/GDP, and HRH availability. The correlation analysis showed a close, negative, and dependent association of the economic development level between the MMR and GHE per capita, the percentage of GHE to GDP, the availability of HRH, and the coverage of SBA. We observed the lowest MMRs when GHE as a percentage of GDP was close to 3% or about US$400 GHE per capita, HRH availability of 6 doctors, nurses, and midwives per 1,000 inhabitants, and skilled birth attendance levels above 90%.ConclusionsWithin the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda, health policies aimed at the effective reduction of maternal mortality should consider allocating more resources as a necessary but not sufficient condition to achieve the goals and should prioritize the implementation of new forms of care with a gender and rights approach, as well as strengthening actions focused on vulnerable groups.

State Capacity and Industrial Development: A Comparative Study of Iran and Egypt (1990–2010)

Despite pursuing industrial development to solve various socioeconomic and sociopolitical issues, such as the urgent need to reconstruct war damages in Iran, the foreign debt crisis in Egypt, and population growth in both countries, statistical data show only slight progress. The graphs of the gross domestic product (GDP) growth and exports of goods and services as a percentage of GDP, which are reliable indexes for measuring industrial output, along with the rate of foreign direct investment, demonstrate numerous fluctuations and instability in the economic growth rate for both cases under the period under review. Failing to diversify the economy, Iran and Egypt still relied heavily on unproductive rents, mostly from hydrocarbon exports, at the end of this era. Why is this the case despite the national leadership putting industrial development on the agenda? This article addresses this question by examining state capacity, focusing on the internal cohesion of state authority and its relation to society. In so doing, comparative historical analysis and causal narrative method are used.

The Effect of Financial Market Depth on Economic Growth in Developing Countries with Large Financial Sectors

The financial market depth has emerged as a phenomenon shaping developing economies with large financial sectors. This paper presents the effect of financial market depth on economic growth in developing countries with large financial sectors from 1996 to 2022. While developing countries are typically characterized by lower levels of economic development and industrialization, some of them may have relatively large financial sectors. These countries include Brazil, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, and South Africa. We utilize the random effects model, a panel data econometrics model, to estimate the nexus. Our proxy for financial market depth is the stock market capitalization as percentage of gross domestic product. A higher market capitalization suggests larger and more liquid markets. The indicator of economic growth is the real gross domestic product, which is growth accounted for inflation. We find that financial market depth has a significant and positive effect on economic growth in developing countries with large financial sectors. The novelty of the study is that the financial market depth and economic growth nexus is significantly moderated by financial and trade openness.

Financial assessment of the implementation of state policy measures in the field of environmental protection: macroeconomic aspect

In the current article, financial aspects of the state environmental policy in Russia at the present stage are observed. The authors study the scale of financial resources allocated for environmental protection at the macroeconomic level in the context of ensuring environmental safety. The review of periodical press materials allowed us to highlight the most pressing issues of eco-investment. When processing statistical data to conduct an analysis of the costs of implementing environmental measures and assessing dissipation of funds in the main categories of expenses, the authors used dyna mic and structural methods of economic analysis with determination of absolute and relative difference. A comparative method was implied in comparing retrospective information to monitor annual budget allocations for the needs of ecology alongside with the table method combined with the graphical one. The assessment of expenditures for environmental protection in Russia for 2017–2021 showed an annual stable growth with an almost twofold increase in the whole five years. A structural analysis in the context of environmental protection activities allowed us to identify the dominant cost items as the most significant in the implementation of state environmental policy. A comparative analysis of the unit costs of environmental protection in percentage of gross domestic product through international comparisons indicates the underfunding of this area by Russian state authorities. The limited amount of finance to ensure rational use of natural resources requires implementing principal measures in accordance with the main priorities of state policy in the field along with application of the most effective ecological and economic tools.

This study addresses questions about the enduring trends in healthcare spending as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), notable factors contributing to this concerning trend, and the timing to apply an emergency brake to curb this accelerating trajectory. Advanced machine learning algorithms, such as Random Forest and Support Vector Regression (SVR), in conjunction with traditional statistical forecasting methods, are used to forecast future patterns. The research underscores the importance of healthcare analytics in unraveling the intricacies of the healthcare system. The findings highlight the pressing need for effective policies to confront this mounting challenge.

CLUSTERING OF EU MEMBER STATES BY THE LEVEL OF DEVELOPMENT OF INSTITUTIONAL INVESTOR ASSET MANAGEMENT

The financial landscape within the European Union is characterized by a significant disparity in the development of institutional investor asset management across its member states. Institutional investors, such as pension funds, insurance companies, and investment trusts, are vital in shaping financial markets and influencing economic stability. This study aims to fill the gap in the existing literature by examining the grouping of European Union member-states. The research focuses on examining key attributes, trends, and performance indicators of institutional investor asset management across various EU member-states. It utilizes data from 2017 to 2022, reflecting the average values of financial assets held by institutional investors as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). This data provides a critical perspective on the investment landscape within the EU, particularly focusing on investment funds and insurance corporations. A notable observation from the data is the significant variance in the financial assets to GDP ratio among EU countries, with Denmark and France showing exceptionally high ratios, indicating a substantial role of institutional investments in their economies. In contrast, Lithuania and Greece demonstrate much lower ratios. This disparity is further analyzed through cluster analysis, grouping EU member-states into five clusters based on their asset management profiles. The clusters reveal distinct patterns in the distribution and development of asset management across the EU. Countries like Denmark and France, with highly developed financial markets, contrast sharply with those like Lithuania and Greece, which have less mature markets. The study highlights the influence of various factors such as economic structure, regulatory environment, and cultural attitudes towards savings and investment on these disparities. The study suggests that future research should focus on developing comprehensive policy recommendations, taking into consideration the distinct characteristics of each cluster to promote balanced economic growth and stability within the EU.

Revenue Mobilization and Contribution Patterns in Nepal

The objective of this article is to evaluate the revenue mobilization efforts in Nepal and understand the contribution patterns of various revenue sources. In this article data of gross domestic product (GDP) and total revenue for the fiscal years 2017/18 to 2021/22was collected from publication of IRD of Nepal. It examines key aspects of fiscal federalism, including revenue collection rights, revenue sharing, and intergovernmental fiscal transfers, as governed by the Intergovernmental Fiscal Arrangement Act. The study assesses government revenue as a percentage of GDP, tax revenue efficiency, and the role of the Internal Revenue Department (IRD). It also explores the composition of revenue, distinguishing between tax and non-tax sources. The findings reveal a positive trend in revenue mobilization, with tax revenue playing a significant role. The findings contribute to understanding Nepal's revenue mobilization efforts and the composition of its revenue sources, providing insights into the country's fiscal policies and financial sustainability.

Balancing prosperity and sustainability: unraveling financial risks and green finance through a COP27 lens

PurposeThis study aims to examine the relationship between financial development (FD), financial risk, green finance and innovation related to carbon emissions in the G7 economies.Design/methodology/approachThis quantitative study examines the roles that financial development [FD: Domestic credit to private sector by banks as percentage of gross domestic product (GDP)], economic growth (GDP: Constant US$ 2015), financial risk index (FRI), green finance (GFIN: Renewable energy public research development and demonstration (RD&D) budget as percentage of total RD&D budget), development of environment-related technologies (DERTI: percentage of all technologies) and human capital (HCI: index) have on the environmental quality of developed economies. Based on panel data, the study uses a novel approach method of moments quantile regression as a main method to tackle the issue of cross-sectional dependency, slope heterogeneity and nonnormality of the data.FindingsThe study confirms that increasing economic development increases emissions and negatively impacts the environment. However, efficient resource allocation, improved financial systems, and green innovation are likely to contribute to emission mitigation and the overall development of a sustainable viable economy. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of risk management in financial systems for future emissions prevention.Practical implicationsThe study uses a reliable estimation procedure, which extends the discussion on climate policy from a COP-27 perspective and offers practical implications for policymakers in developing more effective emission mitigation strategies.Social implicationsThe study offers policy suggestions for a sustainable economy, focusing on both COP-27 and the G7 countries. Recommendations include implementing carbon pricing, developing carbon capture and storage technologies, investing in renewables and energy efficiency and introducing financial instruments for emission mitigation. From a COP-27 standpoint, the G7 should prioritize transitioning to low-carbon economies and supporting developing nations in their sustainability efforts to address the pressing challenges of climate change and global warming.Originality/valueIn comparison to the literature, this study examines the importance of financial risk for G7 economies in promoting a sustainable environment. More specifically, in the context of FD and national income with carbon emissions, previous researchers have disregarded the importance of green innovation and human capital, so the current study fills the gap in the literature related to G7 economies by exploring the link between the identified variables related to carbon emissions.

Costs and cost-effectiveness of influenza illness and vaccination in low- and middle-income countries: A systematic review from 2012 to 2022.

Historically, lack of data on cost-effectiveness of influenza vaccination has been identified as a barrier to vaccine use in low- and middle-income countries. We conducted a systematic review of economic evaluations describing (1) costs of influenza illness; (2) costs of influenza vaccination programs; and (3) vaccination cost-effectiveness from low- and middle-income countries to assess if gaps persist that could hinder global implementation of influenza vaccination programs. We performed a systematic search in Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, and Scopus in January 2022 and October 2023 using a combination of the following key words: "influenza" AND "cost" OR "economic." The search included studies with publication years 2012 through 2022. Studies were eligible if they (1) presented original, peer-reviewed findings on cost of illness, cost of vaccination program, or cost-effectiveness of vaccination for seasonal influenza; and (2) included data for at least 1 low- or middle-income country. We abstracted general study characteristics and data specific to each of the 3 study types. Of 54 included studies, 26 presented data on cost-effectiveness, 24 on cost-of-illness, and 5 on program costs. Represented countries were classified as upper-middle income (UMIC; n = 12), lower-middle income (LMIC; n = 7), and low-income (LIC; n = 3). The most evaluated target groups were children (n = 26 studies), older adults (n = 17), and persons with chronic medical conditions (n = 12); fewer studies evaluated pregnant persons (n = 9), healthcare workers (n = 5), and persons in congregate living settings (n = 1). Costs-of-illness were generally higher in UMICs than in LMICs/LICs; however, the highest national economic burden, as a percent of gross domestic product and national health expenditure, was reported from an LIC. Among studies that evaluated the cost-effectiveness of influenza vaccine introduction, most (88%) interpreted at least 1 scenario per target group as either cost-effective or cost-saving, based on thresholds designated in the study. Key limitations of this work included (1) heterogeneity across included studies; (2) restrictiveness of the inclusion criteria used; and (3) potential for missed influenza burden from use of sentinel surveillance systems. The 54 studies identified in this review suggest an increased momentum to generate economic evidence about influenza illness and vaccination from low- and middle-income countries during 2012 to 2022. However, given that we observed substantial heterogeneity, continued evaluation of the economic burden of influenza illness and costs/cost-effectiveness of influenza vaccination, particularly in LICs and among underrepresented target groups (e.g., healthcare workers and pregnant persons), is needed. Use of standardized methodology could facilitate pooling across settings and knowledge sharing to strengthen global influenza vaccination programs.

The comparative analysis of health care systems

Within the framework of the national development goal of the Russian Federation "preservation of population, health and well-being of people" the target indicator "the increase of life expectancy up to 78 years" is to be achieved by 2030. The achievement of this value is also directly affected by functioning of of health care system. In 2015, the United Nations, within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals for the period up to 2030, formulated the task that implies ensuring of universal health services coverage "including financial risk security, access to qualitative essential medical and sanitary services and access to safe, effective, qualitative and inexpensive essential medications and vaccines for all". In the course of the study, methodology was developed that permitted to calculate values of performance indicators of main health care systems (financial support and infrastructure development) and to conduct comprehensive comparative analysis with values of particular public health indicators. The study results confirmed possibility of such comparisons. The stable direct relationship between such indicators as "current health expenditure (CHE) per capita", "current health expenditure (CHE) as percentage of gross domestic product (GDP)", "UHC Service Coverage Index", "life expectancy" was revealed. The inverse dependency between such indicators as "out-of-pocket expenditure as percentage of current health expenditure (CHE)" and "UHC Service Coverage Index" as well as between "UHC Service Coverage Index" and "total NCD mortality rate" and "probability of premature dying from non-infectious diseases" was determined.

INFLUENCE OF MONITORING AND EVALUATION PLANNING ON PERFORMANCE OF AGRIBUSINESS PROJECTS IN KIAMBU COUNTY, KENYA

A lot of funds are spent on the public services by the government, amounting to between 15-45 percent of gross domestic product which has an immense effect on the agribusiness projects. One of the most pressing issues confronting policymakers and those with an interest in the sector is the declining performance of the agribusiness projects in regard to their growth. This study established the relationship between monitoring and evaluation planning and performance of agribusiness projects in Kiambu County, Kenya. The study was underpinned on the resource-based view theory. Descriptive and explanatory research design were adopted. Twenty-eight agribusiness projects in Kiambu County were targeted. Sample size was 82 respondents comprising of the agribusiness projects. Questionnaires were used to obtain primary data whereas data collection sheet was used to collect secondary data. Descriptive statistics, correlation and regression analysis was conducted. Results showed that respondents agreed to a great extent that monitoring and evaluation planning influenced performance of agribusiness projects in Kiambu County, Kenya. Correlation analysis demonstrated a significant positive linear relationship between performance of agribusiness projects and M & E planning. Additionally, regression analysis showed that monitoring and evaluation planning influenced project performance positively and significantly. The study concludes that M & E planning helps in setting project goals and objectives thus improving project performance and recommends that communication and reporting are essential components of project monitoring and evaluation as they help to facilitate information sharing, improve collaboration and supporting decision making.

Government Health Care Financing and Health Care Outcomes in Africa

This paper uses the World Bank data on healthcare expenditures as a percentage of gross domestic product to analyze the funding available to the public health care sectors in 54 African countries. In the 2001 Abuja Declaration, these African countries vowed to allocate at least 15 percent of their annual budgets to improving their health care sectors and infrastructures. We developed the Compliance with Abuja Declaration Index (CAD Index) to gauge the extent to which African governments complied with the pledge. Our empirical results reveal that health care financing is grossly inadequate in Africa. The failure to finance the health care sectors at or above the 15 percent pledged in the 2001 Abuja Declaration has undoubtedly slowed Africa’s march towards providing improved health care for its citizens. Furthermore, African countries face acute shortages of medical doctors, nurses, and medical infrastructures to provide the robust health care sectors required for sustainable economic growth and development. African governments must implement policies to attract health care professionals by providing the necessary medical infrastructures.

Access to DTP-Based Combination Vaccines in Asia-Pacific Countries between 2019 and 2022.

The Asia-Pacific countries are highly diverse in health and economic conditions that may impact vaccine access and uptake. Our study aimed to characterize patterns of health access to DTP-based combination vaccines in 10 countries from 2019 to 2022 using the IQVIA-MIDAS database. The availability, affordability, and accessibility were compared across countries by national health and economic performance indicators using Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. Our findings showed that the three aspects of access to DTP-based vaccines varied substantially in the Asia-Pacific region, with higher levels in countries with better health and economic performance. Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccine accessibility fluctuates significantly in lower-income countries, with DTP coverage rates falling by more than 14% in the Philippines and Indonesia between 2019 and 2021. For availability and affordability, Singapore and Malaysia from high-income groups were largely affected, which may be related to health expenditure as a percentage of gross domestic product (Coefficient = 0.39, p = 0.03). Our study indicates that greater attention needs to be paid to national health expenditure and routine immunization services to improve vaccine disparities and increase the robustness and resilience of the vaccine supply chain during public health emergencies.

Fiscal Dominance and Inflationary Pressure: Empirical Evidence from Nigeria

In light of Nigeria’s high inflationary environment characterized by rising commodity prices and a growing public debt, this study aims to examine fiscal dominance hypothesis in Nigeria. Specifically, we investigate whether the borrowing activities of the fiscal authorities impede the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in achieving price stability. To conduct this analysis, we utilize annual data on the budget deficit as a percentage of gross domestic product and the change in monetary base, covering the period from 1981 to 2022. The data for these variables were sourced from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) official website and Statistical Bulletin. Our empirical analysis employs econometric methods, including unit root tests and the Toda and Yamamoto (T-Y) Granger non-causality approach. The results from our Granger causality test reveal the presence of bidirectional causality between the budget deficit and the growth of the monetary base, thereby violating the conditions for fiscal dominance. These findings suggest that the pursuit of price stability objectives by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is not constrained by the government's borrowing activities. Consequently, conventional policy tools can be effectively utilized to address inflationary pressures without compromising the government's ability to service its debt obligations. Overall, our study provides evidence that fiscal dominance does not appear to be a significant concern in Nigeria. This implies that policymakers can focus on implementing appropriate monetary policy measures to combat inflation, while ensuring that government borrowing activities do not hinder the achievement of price stability. Energy consumption and innovation-environmental degradation nexus in BRICS countries: new evidence from NARDL approach using carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide emissions.

The BRICS nations-Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa-have grown significantly in importance over the past few decades, playing a vital role in the development and growth of the global economy. This expansion has not been without cost, either, since these countries' concern over environmental deterioration has risen sharply. Both researchers and decision-makers have focused a lot of attention on the connection between economic growth and ecological sustainability. By using nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (NARDL) approach, the complex relationships were analyzed between important economic indicators-such as gross domestic product (GDP), ecological innovations (EI), energy consumption (ENC), institutional performance (IP), and trade openness (TOP)-and their effect on carbon emissions and nitrous oxide emissions in the BRICS countries from 1990 to 2021, this study seeks to contribute to this important dialog. Principal component analysis is formed for technological innovations and institutional performance using six (ICT service exports as a percentage of service exports, computer communications as a percentage of commercial service exports, fixed telephone subscriptions per 100 people, internet users as a percentage of the population, number of patent applications, and R&D expenditures as a percentage of GDP) and twelve (government stability, investment profile, socioeconomic conditions, internal conflict, external conflict, military in politics, control of corruption, religious tensions, ethnic tensions, law and order, bureaucracy quality, and democratic accountability) distinct indicators, respectively. The results of nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag estimation show that increase in economic growth would increase carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide emissions. The positive and negative shocks in trade openness have positive and significant impact on carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide emissions in BRICS countries. Furthermore, the positive shock energy consumptions have positive and significant effect on Brazil and India when carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide emissions are used. However, EKC exists in BRICS countries when carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide emissions are used. According to long-term estimation, energy consumption and technological innovations in the BRICS countries show a strong and adverse link with nitrous oxide and a favorable relationship with carbon dioxide emissions. In the long run, environmental indicators are seen to have a major and unfavorable impact in BRICS nations. Finally, it is proposed that BRICS nations can assure environmental sustainability if they support creative activities, enhance their institutions, and support free trade policies.

Cost Burden of Rigid Internal Fixation in Craniomaxillofacial Trauma Care in Low‐ and Middle‐Income Countries

AbstractFractures of the craniomaxillofacial (CMF) skeleton cause significant morbidity and mortality in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Despite this, quality CMF trauma care is lacking for the majority of the world's population. There is a paucity of literature describing the costs of standard‐of‐care open reduction internal fixation (ORIF) for CMF fractures in LMICs. We consider the cost of a six‐hole plate with six screws (SHPS), standard materials used in ORIF for CMF fractures, as a percentage of gross domestic product (GDP) per capita to ascertain the cost burden to patients. Hospital pricing catalog data at 14 LMIC institutions were queried. On average, the SHPS cost represented 10.2% of the GDP per capita in sampled LMICs. We highlight manufacturing costs, import taxes, and lack of subsidized health care as factors contributing to the significant cost burden of ORIF in these areas. Future work should characterize additional financial and socioeconomic barriers to optimal CMF care.

Pakistan is the fifth most populous country with a population of 225 million and has health expenditure accounting for only 2.8 percent of gross domestic product (GDP). Accordingly, there are a limited number of haematology-oncology and transplant centers in the country. The Pakistan Blood and Marrow Transplant (PBMT) group was established in 2020, and this report is the first activity survey from January 2021 to December 2022 focusing on the trends of matched-related donor, haploidentical, and autologous transplants in a developing country. A total of 12 transplant centers contributed data on the modified PBMT survey form retrospectively and 806 haematopoietic stem cell transplants (HSCTs) were carried out during the study duration. Allogeneic HSCT constituted 595 (73.8%) of all the transplants; this is in stark contrast to Western data, where autologous HSCT accounts for the majority of transplants. ß-thalassemia major and aplastic anemia were the commonest indications for allogeneic HSCT, in contrast to Western data, where acute leukemia is the leading transplant indication. Autologous transplants were more frequently performed for Hodgkin's lymphoma as compared to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and multiple myeloma. The use of peripheral and bone marrow stem cells was comparable. A myeloablative conditioning regimen was routinely used in patients with acute leukemia. This report provides an insight of HSCT trends in Pakistan which are different from those of Western centers contributing to transplant data from South Asia.
