Effectiveness Of Distribution Of Social Assistance For The Family Hope Program In An Effort To Maintain Accountability Of Reports (Case Study Of Social Service Of Sukabumi Regency)

The distribution of social assistance for the Family Hope Program (PKH) by the Sukabumi Regency Social Service has generally been effective in increasing access for beneficiary families (KPM) to education and health and easing the economic burden of poor families. Although there are some challenges in reaching all families who meet the criteria, most beneficiaries are satisfied with the program. Overall, The Family Hope Program in Sukabumi Regency has successfully supported poverty alleviation efforts and improved community welfare, although improvement efforts are still needed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the program. The type of research used by the author is a qualitative descriptive method, the data processed is data obtained from the results of interviews and unstructured observations that will be analyzed qualitatively and described in descriptive form. The Social Service needs to continue to improve the verification and validation process of recipient data to ensure that assistance really reaches families in need. This process must involve the use of more sophisticated technology and applications, which can help minimize data errors and increase accuracy in determining beneficiaries. It is hoped that the distribution of PKH social assistance in Sukabumi Regency can run more effectively and efficiently and provide maximum positive impact on the welfare of people in need.

Persistent Illegal Hunting of Wildlife in an African Landscape: Insights from a Study in the Luangwa Valley, Zambia.

Decades of illegal hunting (poaching) have adversely affected wildlife populations and thereby limited sustainable wildlife conservation in the Luangwa Valley, Zambia. Despite intervention efforts to address the problem, the illegal hunting of wildlife has persisted. Therefore, this study was conducted to understand the persistence of illegal hunting by investigating the drivers of poaching and intervention measures using a mixed methods approach. Stratified random sampling was used to collect data from 346 respondents through structured questionnaires. Purposive sampling was used to collect data through nine focus group discussions and three in-depth interviews with experts. The study revealed that persistent illegal hunting was mainly driven by people's critical need for survival and sustaining their livelihoods and not by inadequate law enforcement as presumed by resource managers. Although law enforcement was the most prevalent intervention measure, it did not deter local illegal hunters because their main motivations for poaching were not effectively addressed. The key implication of these findings is that where the illegal harvesting of natural resources in protected areas by local resource users is driven by people's critical need for survival and a livelihood, which is ineffectively addressed, illegal harvesting may persist even with increased law enforcement. This study provides empirical evidence, novel conceptual knowledge and an understanding of how prevalent drivers of poaching and other factors may have influenced persistent illegal hunting in the Luangwa Valley.

Barriers to blockchain-enabled drug recycling: A TISM-MICMAC approach

Pharmaceutical and personal care products have been recognized as contaminants of emerging concern, and many compounds are entering the environment through non-source points like households. Integrating circular economy principles into the supply chain has been proposed as a sustainable waste minimization strategy. Drug recycling programs facilitate the return of end-of-use medicine from consumers, quality checks, screening for reusability, and redistribution to people in need. In this study, we conceptualize a blockchain-enabled drug recycling (BCT-DR) process and identify the barriers to implementing BCT-DR. The contextual relationships between the barriers are examined using Total interpretive structural modeling(TISM) and classified using the Cross-Impact Matrix Multiplication Applied to Classification (MICMAC) approach. Among the factors considered for the study, inadequate regulatory policies, technological complexity, and data risks are found to be the key barriers to the adoption of BCT-DR. The estimation of the contextual relationships of the barriers to BCT-DR has implications for managers, policymakers, researchers, and health system actors in designing effective interventional strategies to address the barriers to BCT-DR.

Kegiatan Donor Darah di Lingkungan KPP Pratama Kabanjahe Bekerjsama dengan Unit Donor Darah PMI Kabupaten Karo

Blood donation activities are carried out to maintain the stability of the blood stock of the Karo Regency PMI. Blood donation activities are carried out on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 starting at 09.00 WIB at the Kabanjahe Pratama KPP. The blood donation service activity was attended by a total of 14 participants. From the results of the implementation of the activity, 13 blood bags have been collected. Based on interviews with the participants, their motivation to donate blood is because of a sense of humanity for people in need, to maintain their health, invitations from friends, and some are interested because of the gifts offered at the end of the event. The implementation of this blood donation activity as a form of community service has been carried out well and has received a good response from the participants. Socialization is also needed so that the number of blood donors increases and more people are willing to become blood donors.

Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) on Zakat Management in Higher Education

Zakat is a type of assistance designed to lessen the burden experienced by people in need. The zakat fund given to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) students has been managed by the Zakat, Sedekah, and Waqf Unit (ZAWAF). ZAWAF has shared crucial information about zakat via a web-based zakat application. However, some students were not well-informed about zakat distribution. The researchers were asked to look into it more deeply. A framework based on Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) will be used to understand people's awareness of zakat management and further help to improve the existing ZAWAF delivery service at UiTM.

Peningkatan Pengetahuan Keluarga Dalam Perawatan Pasien Paliatif

Introduction: According to WHO data, it is estimated that more than 40 million people need palliative care every year. This includes patients with cancer, heart disease, lung disease, and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. Palliative patient care often involves support from the family, and this condition can affect the patient's quality of life as well as the family's own well-being. Many families do not have sufficient knowledge about palliative care, including how to manage symptoms, provide daily care, or understand the patient's emotional needs Objective: Participants in this activity totaled 35 people Method: The method for this community service activity is continuous counseling Result: Based on the training results, data showed that there was an increase in knowledge with the average increase in post-test results being 15.2 with the highest score on the post-test being 98. Conclusion: The conclusion of community service regarding increasing family knowledge in palliative care has succeeded in increasing family understanding and skills in caring for family members who need palliative care. Families now better understand the concept of palliative care, including aspects such as pain management, symptom control, and emotional support. These activities also help reduce the stigma that may exist regarding palliative care and overcome the uncertainty that families often feel. Better knowledge allows families to feel more prepared and confident in carrying out care

Improving the integration of care for trans adults: ICTA a mixed-methods study.

This research concerns improving the National Health Service health services trans adults need. These include the national specialist Gender Identity Clinics that support people making a medical transition. Not all trans people need to make a medical transition, and transition can take many different paths. Waits to be seen by Gender Identity Clinics are, however, several years long, and there may be significant problems of co-ordination between different aspects of transition-related care, and between transition-related care and general health care. The main objectives were to understand: Which factors make services more or less accessible and acceptable to the variety of trans adults? How initiatives for providing more person-centred and integrated care can be successfully implemented and further improved? An online and paper screening survey was used to gather data on demographics and service use of trans people across the United Kingdom, with 2056 responses. Researchers used survey data to construct five purposive subsamples for individual qualitative interviews, identifying groups of people more likely to experience social exclusion or stigma. There were 65 online interviews. In addition, 23 trans Black people and people of colour attended focus groups. Six case studies were completed: four on initiatives to improve care and two on experiences of particular trans populations. Fifty-five service provider staff and 45 service users were interviewed. The following undermine person-centred co-ordinated care and can lead to experiences of harm: lack of respectful treatment of trans people by general practitioner practices; inadequate funding of services; lack of support during waiting; the extended and challenging nature of Gender Identity Clinic diagnostic assessments, sometimes experienced as adversarial; breakdowns in collaboration between Gender Identity Clinics and general practitioner practices over hormone therapy; lack of National Health Service psychological support for trans people. Case studies indicated ways to improve care, although each has significant unresolved issues: training in trans health care for general practitioners; third-sector peer-support workers for trans people who come to National Health Services; gender services taking a collaborative approach to assessing what people need, clarifying treatment options, benefits and risks; regional general practitioner-led hormone therapy clinics, bringing trans health care into the mainstream; psychology services that support trans people rather than assess them. Some contexts of care and experiences of particular groups of trans people were not addressed sufficiently within the scope of the project. While efforts were made to recruit people subject to multiple forms of stigma, there remained gaps in representation. The findings have significant implications for commissioners and providers of existing National Health Services gender services, including recently established pilot services in primary care. In particular they point to the need for assessments for access to transition care to be more collaborative and culturally aware, implying the value of exploring informed consent models for accessing transition-related care. Further research is needed to investigate how far the findings apply with particular subpopulations. This study is registered as Research Registry, no. 5235. Best Practices and Lessons Learned From the Public Health Disability Specialists Program: Addressing the Needs of People With Disabilities During COVID-19.

The Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) and the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) applied funding issued by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to implement the Public Health Disability Specialists Program, part of a project to address the needs of people with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Disability specialists (subject matter experts) were embedded within state, territorial, and city/county health departments to help ensure disability inclusion in emergency planning, mitigation, and recovery efforts. To evaluate the success of the Disability Specialists Program in improving emergency response planning, mitigation, and recovery efforts for people with disabilities within participating jurisdictions. Disability specialists worked with their assigned jurisdictions to conduct standardized baseline health department needs assessments to identify existing gaps and inform development and implementation of improvement plans. CDC, ASTHO, and NACCHO implemented a mixed methods framework to evaluate specialists' success. State, territorial, and local health departments across 28 jurisdictions between January 2021 and July 2022. Average number of categories of gaps addressed and qualitative documentation of strategies, barriers, and promising practices. Specialists identified 1010 gaps (approximately 36 per jurisdiction) across eight needs assessment categories, most related to mitigation, recovery, resilience, and sustainability efforts (n=213) and communication (n=193). Specialists addressed an average of three categories of gaps identified; common focus areas included equitable COVID-19 vaccine distribution and accessible communications. Specialists commonly mentioned barriers related to limited health agency capacity (eg, resources) and community mistrust. Promising practices to address barriers included sharing best practices through peer-to-peer networks and building and strengthening partnerships between health departments and the disability community. Embedding disability specialists within state, territorial, and local health departments improved jurisdictional ability to meet evolving public health needs for the entire community, including people with disabilities.

How Should a Medical-Legal Partnership Address Unique Needs of People With Criminal Legal System Involvement?

Medical-legal partnerships (MLPs) are well suited to address health-harming legal needs associated with the collateral consequences of mass incarceration in the United States, such as those that limit access to food, housing, employment, and family reunification postrelease. MLP innovations seek to expand the current model to address patients' criminal, as well as postrelease, civil legal needs by including community health workers and some patients as legal partners and creating coalitions to promote local and state policy change. Overall, this article explains how these MLP innovations can support rights of people returning to communities after incarceration and can be leveraged to mitigate criminal legal system involvement.

Children and war – vulnerability and resilience

ABSTRACT In 2023 approximately 339 million people needed humanitarian assistance and protection. This was a significant increase from the 274 million people in need in 2022, which was already the highest figure in decades (Global Humanitarian Overview 2023, 2023). Children are particularly vulnerable in these situations. Children living in and fleeing from areas affected by war and armed conflicts face a myriad of challenges that can have profound and lasting effects on their development and overall well-being. Multiple studies reveal the high prevalence of mental disorders and psychopathology among child and adolescent refugees and asylum seekers. Research have revealed multiple risk and protective factors among children exposed to conflicts and war. These factors contribute to the adaptation processes, vulnerability, and resilience. This article discusses the risk and protective factors as well as the processes of vulnerability and resilience among children in conflict-affected regions, drawing from key research articles that shed light on the complexities of this issue.

How loss of nature through clear-cutting forestry affects well-being.

The United Nations declares that the global degradation of ecosystems represents a danger to human health. Deterioration of forests is one of several threats against the natural systems. The aim of this exploratory study was to investigate people's experiences with clear-cutting and how it had affected their health and well-being. Qualitative data from six people who valued forest ecosystems were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed in accordance with Graneheim and Lundman's qualitative content analysis (Graneheim, U. H. and Lundman, B. (2004) Qualitative content analysis in nursing research: concepts, procedures and measures to achieve trustworthiness. Nurse Education Today, 24, 105-112). Clear-cutting was not regarded as an environment-friendly forestry method. The interviewees described emotional reactions such as grief and poor mental well-being when beloved forests were clear-felled. The grief was partly because of a personal loss of place and recreation area that was important for their physical and emotional well-being. Another part was grief on behalf of nature itself, that is, the loss of habitats of animals and plants and a worsening of the global climate. The interviewees held that emotions related to loss of nature were insufficiently communicated in public discourse. They felt powerless and unable to influence forestry because of what they experienced as an impenetrable industry. Clear-cutting of forests may result in poor well-being among people who value forest ecosystems. More focus on planetary health is needed, including healthy public policy promoting forest management that considers people's need for nature experiences and possible ecological grief when forests are totally and abruptly cleared.

Effects of portraying an innocent versus non-innocent identified victim on intentions to donate organs post-mortem.

The need for more people to register as organ donors is a pressing concern. This preregistered experiment examined whether portraying a patient in need of an organ transplant as leading a healthy lifestyle (an "innocent victim") can serve to increase people's intentions to register as post-mortem organ donors. Participants not previously registered as organ donors (N = 348) were randomly assigned to an innocent identified victim, non-innocent identified victim, or statistical victims condition. The identified victim was a 42 year-old woman in need of a liver transplant. The experimental manipulation produced marginally significant effects on self-reported intentions to register as an organ donor. Moreover, participants in the innocent victim condition were more likely relative to those in the non-innocent victim condition to sign up on an e-mail list to receive additional information about organ donation.

Designing Peer-Led Strategies Meeting the Needs of People With Mental Illness and Substance Use Disorders.

This article documents the contribution of peer support in reducing harms of substance use and advancing recovery. Data based on the experience of participants were collected using semi-structured interviews. Twenty-three participants were interviewed including four peer support workers. Findings were drawn from a thematic analysis of interview data and focused on strategies to improve the delivery of peer support services. We discuss services offered, how they impacted the lives of service recipients, what peer support workers found helpful; the value of peer support; and the challenges, barriers and next steps for peer support as an important, cost-efficient, low-barrier, low-intensive strategy.

DO YOUTUBE SOCIAL MEDIA SHOWS AFFECT THE POLITE OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS?

Along with developments in the current era of communication technology, the use of gadgets has penetrated into elementary school-age students, this has caused many concerning phenomena that have an impact on the behavior and speech that children imitate, one of the phenomena caused by content on YouTube social media is related to manners, such as following speech that is not politely spoken. The study aims to describe the influence of YouTube social media impressions that occur in elementary schools in East Karawang District, Karawang Regency using a descriptive qualitative approach research method. Data collection techniques were carried out using observation interviews with field note techniques and questionnaires. The results of this study found that students behave disrespectfully, especially in terms of speech, namely rude speech obtained from watching YouTube social media content that is not good. But on the other hand, the results of this study were found from watching positive YouTube social media, namely content that inspires students to do good such as conducting social donation activities to people in need. Thus, the influence of YouTube social media broadcasts on students' polite behavior is quite influential.

Kualitas Pelayanan Penerbitan Sertifikat Pengganti pada Badan Pertanahan Nasional Kota Blitar

A land certificate is legal and very important proof of land ownership. Therefore, people need to look after and maintain it well. However, there are still cases where the certificate is lost, so the land owner needs to make an application to obtain a replacement certificate at the local National Land Agency. In the certificate replacement process, there are several obstacles, such as the high costs for publication in the mass media, the length of bureaucracy that the applicant must go through, the long time required to complete the service, and the large number of documents that the applicant must submit. This research aims to evaluate the quality of service in the process of issuing replacement certificates at the Blitar City National Land Agency and identify the obstacles faced in this process. This research uses qualitative methods whose results will be processed into descriptive data. The data collected includes primary data obtained from interviews and observations, as well as secondary data obtained from literature reviews. The data collection process was carried out through interviews, direct observation and documentation. The results of this research are based on a series of analysis processes from interview data, observation and documentation, showing that the quality of replacement certificate issuance services at the Blitar City National Land Agency is good. Judging from the five indicators of service quality used, namely Tangibles, Reliability, Responsiveness, Assurance and Empathy. There are obstacles faced, namely the occurrence of errors in the KKP system which is used to process all types of services, obstacles in making the oath agenda schedule which can hinder the completion of services

Urban Green Areas per Resident: Review Study

Abstract: One of the essential elements of landscape planning is the design of urban green areas which is important for community welfare. Data about green area in large cities can be collected from aerial survey or satellite imageries. Analysis can be applied using GIS to determine the relation between urban green area (UGA) per resident in the city when statistics of number of inhabitants in the city are known. The computed UGA per resident can then be compared with respect to standard or recommended values given by: World Health Organization (WHO) or by the United Nations (UN) or any other organization. Studying the distances that people need to walk to the nearest green area should also satisfy a certain limit. This paper is an attempt to outline some published research about finding out the UGA per capita in various world cities.

Role of environmental awareness & self-identification expressiveness in electric-vehicle adoption

AbstractGlobal warming is a serious threat to humanity, and greenhouse gases are behind it. CO2 is one of the main greenhouse gasses that cause global warming. The second most important reason behind CO2 emission is the transport sector. Electric-powered Vehicles introduced by the automobile sector are regarded as the main alternative to cope with this issue. Despite their advantages, EV adoption rates vary by country, and the expected reductions in energy shortages and pollution are not fully achieved. We took the opportunity to assess the consumer EV adoption intention by using the Value-based technology adoption model. We integrated Environmental awareness (EA) and Self-identification expressiveness (SIE) as new factors in this model to assess the role of EA and SIE in EV adoption intentions. We have collected the response of 704 EV users from China and applied the SEM-ANN dual-stage hybrid model to test proposed hypotheses and rank the variables according to their importance. Study findings revealed that Environmental awareness is a significant predictor of EV adoption but is not the most important factor. Study results also revealed that the perceived benefits of EV adoption and perceived sacrifices for its adoption have a significant impact on the perceived value of EV, and this value leads to the adoption intentions. PV is revealed as a significant mediator in our proposed model. We conclude that people need to educate about environmental issues and the benefits of using EVs to achieve the CO2 reduction and EV sale target. The study has several theoretical and practical implications for the government and the electric vehicle manufacturing industry.

Investigating the moderating role of altruistic beliefs on negative emotional appeals in digital charity advertising: A study on guilt, shame, and donation intention among Indonesian donors

The rising demand for charitable organizations is fueled by increasing numbers of people in need, growing inequalities, and crises such as wars, natural disasters, and inflation. Charities face the challenge of securing sufficient funding, worsened by increased competition and a decline in public donation behavior. Developing new marketing strategies is crucial, particularly leveraging social media in the digital age. While previous research underscores the persuasive power of emotional advertising, gaps remain in understanding which emotions most effectively drive donation intentions. This thesis explores the impact of emotional advertising appeals in digital charity marketing campaigns on donation intention, investigating whether positive or negative appeals are more influential. Additionally, it examines gender differences in altruism and how altruistic values moderate the effects of negative emotional appeals on guilt and shame. An experimental research design was used, with a between-subject design involving three groups exposed to positive, negative, or neutral advertising stimuli. The sample consisted of 200 respondents over 18 years old, representative of the Indonesian population. Participants were randomly assigned to groups and answered questions on donation intentions, altruistic values, emotional reactions, and demographics. Statistical analysis revealed that positive and negative advertising appeals elicit different emotions. Surprisingly, no significant difference was found between positive and negative appeals on donation intention, suggesting emotional orientation does not influence donation intentions. The study also found stronger altruistic beliefs in women and that altruistic values amplify guilt and shame in response to negative emotional appeals.

Rethinking the Relationship between Milk Drinking and Population Health Outcomes

Dairy products are important ingredients for healthily and balanced diet. Past research often points to a positive relationship between milk drinking and population health outcomes. However, attempts to conceptualize the relationship between milk drinking and health outcomes are inconclusive. Hence, this paper aims to aid understanding and explaining the relationship between intake of milk and dairy products with population health outcomes based on existing studies within the period of 2001 until 2024 using Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) as indicator of health outcomes. The methodology of our paper is qualitative in nature and adopts methods of library research and critical content analysis. An introduction shows that there are benefits of consuming milk on human health. The result indicates that regular intake of milk could potential lower the risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) based on scientifical research in several countries. With many type of milk, people need to adjust which milk that suitable and beneficial for their body based on its nutrition.
