VALUES OF CHARACTER EDUCATION IN JEUNG PANGGEUING'S PEPELING BOOK WORKS OF KH ACENG ZAKARIA

This research aims to identify and analyze the values ​​of character education contained in the book "Pepeling jeung Panggeuing" by KH Aceng Zakaria. This book, written in Sundanese, is a collection of advice from a leading scholar who has significantly contributed to education and moral development in society. The language used in this book is very persuasive and easy to understand, especially for the people of West Java. A qualitative approach with content analysis was used in this research to understand the moral and ethical messages contained in the book. Data was collected through an in-depth study of book texts and secondary references related to character education theory. The research results reveal several core values ​​taught in this book, namely the book "Pepeling jeung Panggeuing" which plays an important role in shaping readers' character through applicable and relevant advice. The book "Pepeling jeung Panggeuing" contains a collection of advice that makes people aware of negative actions and awakens the human mind so that they can rise from laziness and be more optimistic in living their lives. This book contains character education values, including religious character education, cooperation, tolerance, hard work and generosity. The implication is that this book can be used as a reference in the character education curriculum in schools and as a guide for families and communities in developing the morals of the younger generation. This research recommendation includes the development of a more integrative and adaptive educational program based on the values ​​contained in this book

Determination of specific and non-specific standardization parameters for ethanol extract of purple leaves (Graptophyllum pictum (L) Griff )

Purple leaves are a traditional medicine that is widely used by people in West Java, Maluku and Papua. Empirically, purple leaves are usually used to treat wounds, liver swelling, and treat gallstones. The aim of this research is to establish standardization of specific parameters (organoleptic and chemical content) and non-specific parameters (ash content, water content, drying loss, heavy metal contamination, yeast mold number (AKK), microbial contamination/Total Plate Number (ALT)) as well as antioxidant on purple leaf plants (Graptophyllum pictum (L) Griff). The results showed that the specific parameters of the organoleptic properties of the 96% ethanol extract of purple leaves ( Graptophyllum pictum (L) Griff ) namely black in color , shaped like paste, has a distinctive purple leaf odor and a bitter taste. The results of the phytochemical screening of 96% ethanol extract of cherry leaves contain alkaloids, flavonoids and tannins . However, the saponin test was negative for containing saponin. The non-specific parameters of 96% ethanol extract of cherry leaves are water content of 5.96 % , total ash content of 16.8570 %, drying loss of 17.26 %, heavy metals As and Cd were not detected in Pb of 0, 1236 mg/kg, microbial contamination (Alt) and yeast mold numbers (Akk) were not found in colonies. Empowering Women: Family Life Education Program for Poverty Alleviation

The incidence of poverty in Indonesia has exhibited a marginal decrease, although it remains significantly distant from the desired objective and predominantly concentrated in rural regions. Efforts to reduce poverty should be optimized, particularly by prioritizing the economic empowerment of rural people and improving access to essential services. Poverty in Cianjur Regency, West Java Province, broadly impacted people's lives. Women in rural areas were a significantly affected group. It was among the five districts with the highest number of impoverished people in West Java. The study used secondary data analysis from 2005 to 2021 to understand poverty. This study employed a Concurrent Explanatory Design, which collected comprehensive interviews and statistical data. The researchers conducted interviews with the Head of the Neighborhood Association to gain insights into poverty at the local level. Additionally, they analyzed data from Statistics Indonesia on poverty, gender, and human development in Cianjur Regency from 2005 to 2021, spanning 16 years. The research sought to enhance comprehension of women's poverty in the region by integrating qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Human development index levels were low in Cianjur Regency due to poor development and limited gender empowerment. On average, women in the region had only 5.75 years of education, equivalent to the primary school level. The Family Life Education program was needed to empower families through education and training that suited their needs in addressing this issue. Thus, it was expected to reduce poverty and improve the condition of women in the Cianjur District.

Analisis Kawih Gaya Ida Rosida Pada Lagu Reumis Beureum Dina Eurih

New Kawih Wanda is a kawih created by Mang Koko based on Mang Koko's understanding and ability to create a kawih with a new style at that time. In creating it because he wanted to present new works of Sundanese Karawitan, Mang Koko tried to process traditional and non-traditional musical material so that his work had breath. Baru (new color) from previously existing Sundanese karawitan. In this category, Mang Koko makes it happen through vocal and hand skills. A kawih interpreter who is quite famous in the Priangan area is Ida Rosida. One kawih interpreter who is quite popular among the people of West Java is Ida Rosida. She was born on 26 August 1954 and is the daughter of the founder of Sundanese kawih art in West Java, namely Hj Koko Koswara or known as Mang Koko. The aims of this research are: (1) to find out the Sundanese kawih singing technique in the song reumis beureum dina eurih style of Ida Rosida (2) to find out the form, meaning and structure of the presentation of the song reumis beureum dina eurih style of Ida Rosida. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive analysis approach. The techniques used in this research are observation, interviews and documentation techniques. The main instrument in this research is the research itself using tools in the form of field notes and recording tools in the form of cellphones.

INTER-REGIONAL POVERTY DISPARITIES IN JAVA, INDONESIA: AN ANALYSIS OF KEY INFLUENCING FACTORS (2010-2020)

This study seeks to investigate the evolution of poverty in Java from 2010 to 2020, as well as the regional factors that contributing to disparities in poverty between regions. The results of the analysis indicate a downward trend in the number and proportion of poor people on the island of Java but a rise during the COVID-19 pandemic. There are regional distribution groups with high and low poverty rates. The results of the ANOVA reveal significant differences in the occurrence of urban poverty on the island of Java based on province and regional status but not by zone. Positively and negatively, the majority of the predictors have a very significant relationship with poverty. Six regional variables (level of consumption (expenditure), level of health (life expectancy), income per capita, level of education (number of years of schooling), population density (people/km2), and economic potential (GRDP at current prices)) account for 68.10% of the variation in the number of poor people in Java, while the remaining 31.9% is determined by other variables. The model of variation in Java's poverty is determined by three variables: per capita income, GRDP, and public consumption level.

The traditional ecological knowledge of the local people of Cijambu Village, Sumedang, Indonesia, on the diversity, utilization, management, and conservation of bamboo. Biodiversitas 25: 1754-1770. Bamboos have been known to play an important role in the socio-economic, cultural, and ecological benefits of rural people in West Java. However, many bamboo gardens have been converted to other land-use types, including commercial vegetable gardens. The study aimed to record local people's Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) in Cijambu, Sumedang, West Java, Indonesia, regarding the diversity, utilization, management, and conservation of ethnobotany and bamboo. The mixed method, combining approaches with an ethnobotanical perspective, was employed in this study through semi-structured and structured interviews with informants. The study results showed a diversity of bamboo landraces with six types of bamboo identified by the community: Awi Tali (Gigantochloa apus), Awi Gombong/Awi Surat (Gigantochloa verticillata), Awi Temen (Gigantochloa atter), Awi Bitung (Dendrocalamus asper), Haur Héjo (Bambusa vulgaris var. vulgaris), and Haur Konéng (Bambusa vulgaris var. striata). Bamboo has 41 uses: 3 ecological uses, 32 economic uses, and 6 socio-cultural uses. Bamboo management involves maintaining and transforming bamboo gardens into mixed gardens, combining vegetables and coffee plants to increase income. Community conservation efforts involve selective logging to ensure the sustainability and regeneration of bamboo. The conservation process is influenced by cultural beliefs and myths, such as refraining from cutting or taking bamboo on Fridays. Bamboo people believe in Tolak Bala, which uses Haur Konéng bamboo.

Are the People of West Java Ready to Face the Covid-19 Pandemic? Study of Psychological Capital and Learning Agility

Designing policies to prepare a resilient society to face sudden downturns is very important for the government, for example, when society faces the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. In this case, the principal capitals that the community must rely on are their psychological readiness and also their ability to learn quickly in difficult situations. These principle capitals are then called psychological capital and learning agility. West Java is one of the provinces that contributes to the country's economy strategically; in this case, it is necessary to always pay attention to the readiness of its people, especially in certain professions that have been directly affected by the difficult situation during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted on 215 participants who were laborers, online motorcycle-taxi drivers, microbusiness owners, and teachers using an incidental sampling method. The results show that people in West Java with these four professions have psychological capital that makes them psychologically ready to face challenges in difficult situations (Covid-19 pandemic) and have the willingness to learn and master new competencies quickly. These traits support them in overcoming the challenges that suddenly came during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Peran Lembaga Filantropi untuk kesejahteraan Masyarakat

Philanthropy is a concrete form of generosity. At present there are many social institutions and organizations that are actively carrying out philanthropic activities. Campaigns to raise public funds, which will later be used for socio-religious and humanitarian activities, are carried out in various ways, be it through advertising in print and electronic mass media, as well as through social media. the rise of philanthropic activities aimed at encouraging and improving the standard of living of the dhu'afa in Indonesia can be motivated by various factors, it could be that the spread of philanthropic activities is a response from society to the weak role of the state in alleviating poverty, or it could be due to other factors such as awareness of faith which is getting stronger. In Islam, the concept of philanthropy is known as zakat, infaq, shadaqah (ZIS) and waqf. These terms refer to the act of giving, which implies sharing, generosity, social justice as well as mutually reinforcing human beings. The “Gemma Insani Indonesia Foundation” is one of the institutions that takes part in philanthropic activities. One of the factors behind the emergence of this institution is due to a sense of concern, as well as concern for the wider community, especially the people in West Java. This study aims to provide an overview of the Gemma Insani Foundation, along with its roles and contributions through the activity programs they carry out. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method, by analyzing data sourced from social media accounts (Website & Instagram), literature studies as well as interviews from one of the Foundation's volunteers. The research results show that the Gemma Insani Indonesia Foundation plays an active role in efforts to improve people's welfare, with program activities carried out covering several aspects of life, including in the social, educational and entrepreneurial fields.

Indonesian Sundanese Local Wisdom as An Ethical Reference in Digital Media

Purpose: Cultural traditions as ancestral heritage contains local wisdom that can be utilized in community empowerment with communication technology to improve welfare. Methods: This research inventories the relevance of Sundanese cultural values to digital civilization. The type of research is qualitative research. The data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis. Results and Conclusion: The results of this study state that local wisdom can be explored scientifically from a cultural product, with in-depth interpretation. As a cultural product, cultural traditions contain various things related to the life and livelihood of the owner community, such as value systems, beliefs and religions, social norms, work ethics, and even the way social dynamics take place. Research implications: West Java Province, Indonesia occupies the highest positions reaching 16.4 million with an internet penetration rate of 36%. The majority of West Java people are Sundanese ethnic that have the noble values of cultural traditions and are used to regulate the Sundanese community order. Originality/value: It is significant for this local wisdom to be actualized again in the current era, and it is the basis for the view that everyone has ethical boundaries in seeing, hearing, and speaking, especially in verbal traditions.

Analysis for the Presence of Borax in IRTs and MSMEs Producing Karak in Bulu

Home Industry products and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the form of traditional foods are widely developed in Sukoharjo Regency. Traditional food karak crackers are one of the products favored by the people of Central Java, especially Sukoharjo Regency. Karak crackers are a food that is much loved by the community because it tastes savory, cheap and can be used for side dishes and snacks. The main ingredient in making karak crackers is poor quality rice or rice groats with added salt and bleng. Bleng is alleged to contain borax, which is harmful when it enters the human digestive system. This study aims to determine the presence of borax contained in karak crackers produced by IRTs and MSMEs in Bulu Subdistrict and to select alternative ingredients to replace bleng (borax). This research was conducted with 2 methods, namely survey and evaluation, in the survey method to determine the sample using stratified purposive sampling with 3 levels. After the karak cracker samples were collected, the presence of borax was tested using turmeric extract. The results obtained stated that all samples from IRTs and MSMEs contained borax.

“Tie your camel first, then rely on God”: reconceptualizing Javanese Islamic values to support palliative care at home

BackgroundIn the last decade, there has been a growing concern to make palliative care more culturally sensitive and contextually appropriate. This concern is also relevant in Indonesia, where the progress of palliative care, particularly in home-based care, has been slow. Like elsewhere in the world, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of shifting from a curative orientation towards a palliative one, especially in cases where further medical treatment is futile. In this paper we argue that the development of palliative care practices would benefit greatly from learning about the values that are important for patients, families, and health professionals. It is important to understand these values to support forms of care that aim to enhance quality of life. To demonstrate this, we analyse the care values people in rural Java evoke in their home palliative care practices.MethodsWe conducted an eight-month ethnographic study involving forty-nine patients, families, and health professionals.ResultsWe identified three specific Javanese Islamic values: making an effort (ikhtiar), being sincere (ikhlas), and being in a state of surrender (pasrah). These values influenced the participants’ activities in a palliative care setting. Based on our findings, we suggest three strategies to incorporate these values into palliative care practices and to better facilitate palliative care’s integration into Javanese Muslim communities. The first strategy is to include efforts to reduce suffering and improve the quality of life using the concept of ikhtiar. The second strategy is to foster sincerity (ikhlas) to help patients and families accept the realities of their condition and provide care for patients at home. The last strategy is to clarify that palliative care is not synonymous with ‘giving up’ but can be seen as an act of pious surrender.ConclusionsOur study identified three Islamic-Javanese values that can be incorporated to strategies aiming at enhancing palliative care practices, resulting in care focused on improving quality of life rather than futile attempts at a cure.

The War of Diponegoro: Causes, Strategies, and Impact on Indonesian Politics, Socio-Culture, and Economy

The Diponegoro War is one of the most important events in Indonesian history as it marked the beginning of the increasingly strong Dutch colonization of Indonesia. Various general and specific factors between Prince Diponegoro and the Dutch triggered this conflict. Although this war lasted a very short period of 5 years (1825-1830), it caused enormous losses, namely around 200,000 Javanese people lost their lives, almost a quarter of the island of Java was badly damaged, 8,000 European troops were killed, 7,000 Indonesian troops were killed and the costs of the war incurred by the Dutch reached around 20 million guilders. In Addition, the impact of the Diponegoro War was very significant for the people of Central Java, especially in social, economic, and political terms. This research aims to dig deeper into the history of The Diponegoro War and review various aspects related to this war, including the background, tactics, and strategies of the war, as well as the impact of the war on politics, social and economy on the people of Jawa and Indonesian. This research uses a historical approach that focuses on past events. Although the Dutch won the Diponegoro War, it marked the beginning of Indonesia's independence struggle against Dutch colonialism. It showed that the Indonesian people had the spirit and determination to gain independence from foreign colonialism

The Effect of Capital Expenditure, Balancing Funds, and Special Financial Assistance (BKK) on The Welfare of the People of Central Java Post Covid-19 (2020-2022)

This study examines the impact of capital expenditure, balancing funds, and special financial assistance (BKK) on community welfare in 35 districts/cities of Central Java Province from 2020-2022 with a total of 105 data, with multiple linear regression analysis techniques and assisted by the STATAMP 17 calculation tool. The study employs a quantitative model using secondary data and multiple linear regression analysis approaches using the HDI measurement indicator. The findings indicate that although BKK has no beneficial impact on human wellbeing, capital spending and balancing money do. The study aims to provide a deeper understanding of these factors' influence on community welfare, helping policymakers develop more effective and sustainable budget strategies to improve community welfare through efficient allocation of funds.

HUBUNGAN FAKTOR RISIKO TERHADAP KEPATUHAN PENGOBATAN DIABETES MELLITUS DI PUSKESMAS CIKAMPEK

According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) the prevalence of DM was 366 million in 2011, and it's predicted that in 2030 it'll increase to 552 million. In 2020 as many as 1 million people in West Java suffer from DM. With 139 thousand people of whom are residents in Karawang Regency. According to WHO in 2003 only about 50% adherence rate of chronic disease treatment in developed countries. Factors that cause low levels of adherence include running out of medication, forgetting to take medication, knowledge, motivation for treatment, and family support. In addition, age, nutritional status, education level, occupation, and income can also affect medication adherence in DM patients. The purpose of this study was to determine adherence to DM treatment at the Cikampek Health Center and how the relationship between risk factors for adherence to DM treatment. This research is an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design. The population and sample of this study were all DM patients who underwent treatment methods at the Cikampek Health Center, using total sampling. This research was conducted at the Cikampek Health Center, using MMAS-8 questionnaire and then the data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results of the study showed that 104 respondents had low adherence to treatment at the Cikampek Health Center, 42.3% had low adherence, and there was no correlation between risk factors and DM treatment adherence.

 Social media is widely known by the public only for communicating between individuals, but currently social media is not only used as a means of communication between individuals, but is also used to form personal branding. One of them is the Instagram social media, Lapak Ganjar @lapak_ganjar, which is an account of the Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo's program to build personal branding. Apart from building personal branding, the @lapak_ganjar account is also intended to help Central Java UMKM who have been affected by the pandemi covid-19. Through the Stall Ganjar program, Ganjar Pranowo will get a good perception in the eyes of the public because of his caring attitude towards Central Java UMKM. The purpose of this research is to find out how Ganjar Pranowo forms personal branding through Instagram social media.The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques used are interviews, documentation studies and literature studies. This research is expected to explain how Ganjar Pranowo forms his personal branding for the people of Central Java. In the Lapak Ganjar program, Ganjar Pranowo impresses that he is a leader who cares about UMKM, a people leader, and a millennial leader with his activeness on Instagram social media. The governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, is very supportive of UMKM in Central Java, so that Ganjar Pranowo has been named the father of UMKM. This research is expected to be an illustration of personal branding carried out by a politician or a leader.
 
 
 

Effectiveness of Implementation and Management of E-Makaryo Application in Reducing Unemployment Rate in Central Java Province

The E-Makaryo application is a labor market application that is presented online and developed by the Central Java Provincial Government. The E-Makaryo application which was formed through the Decree of the Head of the Central Java Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office Number 1024 of 2020 concerning the Online Job Exchange and Labor Market Information Service System (E-Makaryo) in 2020 is managed directly by the Government. Central Java Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office. In this regulation, there are 9 main objectives for its implementation in the hope of reducing unemployment in Central Java Province. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of effectiveness of the E-Makaryo application in reducing unemployment in Central Java. This research will involve application providers and also users, namely the people of Central Java. The research method uses descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through in-depth observation and other supporting data. The theory used in this research is Hoffman and Bateson's development theory of services (action, effort, or performance). Another theory used is the 4 characteristics of effectiveness proposed by (Steers, 1985). The results of this study indicate that the application of the E-Makaryo online job market has not reached the maximum stage caused by the lack of activities to encourage people to recognize and use the E-Makaryo application. Other factors such as supporting information on the application system and service channel factors are still many obstacles in using the E-Makaryo application considering that the application still often causes errors. Based on these problems, researchers have suggestions for application providers to actively conduct socialization to introduce and encourage people, especially Central Java, to use the E-Makaryo application. In addition, application providers can also continue to improve the system by completing the information needed by the community.

JOGO TONGGO AS A CULTURAL POLICY

This article aims to explain the effectiveness of the Jogo tonggo program initiated by the Provincial Central Java Government in controlling the social and economic impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the people of Central Java. This research uses interviews with residents and government officials to get an idea of the effectiveness of this program. The results of this study found that Jogo tonggo goes from the caring practices carried out by the Javanese community, which comes from the combination of various religious and cultural values ​​that have been mixed up over time. It is not a form of (Javanese) cultural glorification that has been practiced for a long time but instead puts forward the aspect of how the public interest is served. Prioritizing citizen involvement in Jogo Tonggo makes this movement a form of “third way.” The third way is marked by the increasing role of the community in influencing various political policies based on the various traditional practices they have. By prioritizing the role of communities and individuals as agencies, Jogo Tonggo can overcome the far-reaching impact of the Covid-19 pandemic by reinventing and relevating the various traditions of the Javanese people.

GEOGRAPHICALLY WEIGHTED PANEL REGRESSION (GWPR) MODEL FOR POVERTY DATA IN WEST JAVA PROVINCE 2019-2021

The problem of poverty in West Java shows a pattern that tends to be concentrated in adjacent areas, indicating spatial heterogeneity in the problem. On the other hand, poverty in West Java also shows an increasing trend from year to year so that dynamic changes occur in various regions. From this situation, it is necessary to know the factors that affect poverty spatially using panel data. One way is to model the poverty problem with the Geographically Weighted Panel Regression (GWPR) model. The GWPR model is the development of a regression model that combines Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) with panel data regression assuming a Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The data used in this study are secondary data in the 2019-2021 range from the Central Bureau of Statistics and Open Data Jabar which consists of the dependent variable (Y), namely the percentage of poor people and the independent variable (X), namely the factors that influence the percentage of poverty. The purpose of this study is to produce a GWPR model using the Weighted Least Square (WLS) method with the Tricube adaptive kernel weighting function. By conducting overall and partial testing through the F test and t test, the results show that the model for each location and the factors that influence the percentage of poor people in West Java are different for each location due to spatial variations in the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable.

Bibliometric Analysis of Research Regarding Citarum River in Indonesia and Its Implication for Government Policy

Research mapping related to river revitalization has been carried out on areas experiencing severe pollution to provide a roadmap for knowledge and answers to a number of environmental issues surrounding rivers. Therefore, this study aims to map a number of research publications regarding the Citarum River, which is an important area for people in West Java. This river is currently the most polluted in Indonesia, which led to the implementation of the revitalization program initiated by the government known as "Citarum Harum". The bibliometric method was used in this research to determine annual trends, keywords, field grouping, and location. The results showed a fluctuating increase in the number of research publications on the Citarum River. Furthermore, the mapping results showed that topics, study groups, and locations related to this river were unevenly distributed. These findings indicated the need for coordination from the “Citarum Harum” program coordinator or government to develop a research roadmap and direct the researcher to examine topics and raise issues related to locations that are yet to be studied.
