The article explores the methodical principles of using mobile applications during the professional training of future biology teachers in higher educational institutions. It is determined that the significance of using modern mobile learning tools is driven by the informatization of the educational process and the necessity to develop key information and digital competencies among future teachers. It is emphasized that forced distance learning requires new teaching methods and tools. It has been found that recently almost all students in general secondary education institutions possess and use mobile phones at a professional level. It is proven that smartphones or tablets can be effective learning tools for the educational process, provided that teachers are skilled in their application. The possibilities of using mobile applications in the educational process of the professional training of future biology teachers are analyzed, revealing methodical approaches to their use: in lectures and laboratory sessions on the methodology of teaching biology, in completing independent work tasks, and in informal or non-formal education.
