ГЕРМЕНЕВТИЧНЕ КОЛО У ФОРМУВАННІ МЕТОДИЧНОЇ КУЛЬТУРИ МАЙБУТНЬОГО ВЧИТЕЛЯ МУЗИЧНОГО МИСТЕЦТВА

This article is devoted to the studying hermeneutic circle in the development of methodological culture of future music teacher. Under the conditions of globalization processes, tendencies of convergence of world cultures improvement of culturological training of student youth requires new approaches, in particular, culturological training of students of pedagogical specialties. The task of pedagogical education is to develop a teacher as a specialist and as a person of high culture, who has a special positive effect on the personality of school student. This article analyses the works of scientists dedicated to the issues of establishment and development of the hermeneutic approach in philosophical, psychological, and logical and gnosiological contexts. It is defined the essence of the concept of “hermeneutic circle” as one of the basic principles of the hermeneutic approach. There have been provided the examples of interpretation of the principle of hermeneutic circle by various scientists. Hermeneutic approach is applied in sciences such as pedagogy, psychology, economics, sociology etc. In pedagogical science the hermeneutic approach at the level of conceptual use was elaborated by A. Zakirova. She introduced the term “pedagogical hermeneutics”. Hermeneutic circle as a principle of text understanding is based on the interrelation of the part and the whole. Understanding of the whole consists of the understanding of the individual parts, and understanding of the parts requires understanding of the whole. The concepts of the part and the whole are correlated: the text is a part concerning the whole creative activity of the author, which in its turn is a part of the particular genre or literature in general, as well as the part of spiritual life and biography of the author. The idea of hermeneutic circle means also that there is no understanding of the text without certain prerequisites: understanding is preceded by some idea of what is yet to understand. There have been determined the peculiarities of the use of the principle of hermeneutic circle in the development of methodological culture of the future teacher of musical art. In light of hermeneutical trends, the penetration of which in the realm of musical art can be traced quite clearly, the use of the hermeneutic circle principle in the development of methodological culture of the future teacher of musical art appears not only in the narrow interpretation of the particular phenomenon or group of phenomena, but much wider — as a means of learning and understanding of the worldview by a person.

Formation of the Professional Competence of the Future Elementary School Teachers on the Basis of Pedagogical Hermeneutics

Lead: The development of the education actualizes the need to solve the problem of evaluation of teacher professionalism, level of his/her professional competence, growth prospects, abilities of occupational rehabilitation. The country's need of teachers who can take a personally-humane stand towards the pupils and towards themselves. Also it makes the problem of increasing of a teacher's professional competence more acute. Theoretical Bases of Pedagogic Hermeneutics and its Implementation Versions in Educational Practices

The paper reveals the basic statements of the author’s concept of the pedagogical hermeneutics – the theory and practice of text interpretation of different genres focused on deeper and detailed understanding with the reference to socio- cultural traditions, reflective comprehension of the emotional and spiritual human experience, as well as personal experience of educational process participants. It has been proved that pedagogical hermeneutics is required as a methodology of the humanistic understanding of the cultural phenomena, being based on the idea of mediated influence of cultural texts comprehension methods on human consciousness, ways of thinking, world views, and other education related spheres such as forecasting, modeling, projecting, diagnosing and pedagogic communication. The paper describes the principles and methods of pedagogic hermeneutics such as cultural mediation, integrity, metaphor conceptualization, inter-text method, converted forms, convertibility of mentality, etc. The research findings are assessed applying the Author’s Concept Interpretation method by A. N. Slavskaya, the Semantic Differential and M. Rockich’ method, etc. The suggested approach can be implemented in comprehensive school, teachers’ training and research work.

Language for the Global Economy: Some curriculum fundamentals and pedagogical practices in the colonial educational enterprise

The paper provides an example of contrivances undertaken to establish English as the language of the global economy. Trinidad and Tobago is the location chosen, and the late colonial period is the time frame used to demonstrate how the 'project' worked. The paper focuses upon some curricular and pedagogic practices used to transmit and fortify English as the language of communication, and is classroom based. What took place at ground level, so to speak, and within the framework of a major formal institution, the colonial elementary school, is examined. Three theoretical frames are engaged: selected aspects of language learning theory as these relate to reading in particular, pedagogical content knowledge and hermeneutics. The analysis reveals that classroom practices were orchestrated to cement and fortify an English language base in Trinidad and Tobago during the period under study, and to guarantee the use of English for all time. The strategies used included appropriate packaging of content, exclusiveness in selection and use of textual (British) material, pre-occupation with the 'grammar syndrome', indoctrination into British culture, and transmission of the ideology that success in 'school English' was a touchstone for induction into 'the good life'. The paper concludes that the job of securing the already established English-language base in Trinidad and Tobago was a diligent masterpiece. The colonizer 'played a good number' upon the colonized in Trinidad and Tobago, so much so that the present exclusive use of English in that country is seen as irreversible, unlike the situation in some other post-colonial states.
