Mengubah Sampah Organik Menjadi Eco Enzym Multifungsi: Inovasi di Kawasan Urban

<p><em>The waste in urban areas was the concern in the KKN UNS Membangun. Around 80% of the total amount of waste generated is dominated by organic waste which is only seen as waste that has no economic value. Therefore, the community service activity of KKN UNS Membangun Desa Kelompok 37. Sangkrah Village was carried out in the form of socialization and training in the manufacture of eco-enzyme multipurpose liquid. Organic waste can be processed into eco enzyme which is useful as a cleaning liquid, wound treatment, and plant fertilizer. Socialization activities and training on the manufacture of eco-enzyme multipurpose liquid were carried out offline in Sangkrah Village, Pasar Kliwon District, Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia by implementing strict health protocols. Socialization activities and training on the making of eco enzyme were attended by representatives of the residents to prevent crowds. This activity aims to make the Sangkrah Village community able to utilize organic waste so that it can be used and even can add to the economic value of the surrounding community.</em></p>

Legal Protection Against Franchise Business In Maintaining Product Quality (Case study of Fremilt Pasar Kliwon Surakarta branch)

The government needs to develop a franchise business in order to expand job opportunities, for that the government creates efforts to protect franchisees and franchisors so that the government issues government regulation no. 42 of 2007 concerning franchise business (Franchise). However, the reality is that there are still many franchises that do not fulfill their obligations to franchisors, such as some franchises that do not carry out SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) with initial provisions. The problems raised in this study are about how the legal protection for the parties concerned in the franchise agreement, namely the franchisor and the franchisee and the forms of rights and obligations between the franchisor and the Fremilt product franchise, <em>Pasar Kliwon</em> Surakarta branch. This type of research uses empirical research, namely individual research related to social life, in this study the researcher tries to uncover legal protection for franchisees and franchisors of Fremilt products, <em>Pasar Kliwon</em> Surakarta branch. This research is taken from many facts in society. Based on the research, it was found that there is legal protection for franchisees and franchisors so that the taste of the product will be maintained its authenticity and between the two parties can run the SOP in accordance with the provisions of the agreement at the beginning. In addition, the franchisee and the franchisor will feel protected and will get a guarantee of certainty if something goes wrong that harms both parties

Biosorption of Chromium from Textile Wastewater Using Mimosa pudica Tannin Gel

<p>The heavy metal content is very dangerous because it can pollute the environment. One of the heavy metals waste commonly found in the textile industry is chromium (Cr). <em>Mimosa pudica</em> is a weed plant and its availability is very abundant. However, it also contains tannin which can be developed into tannin gel biosorbent to adsorption heavy metal content in the wastewater. The purpose of this research is to study <em>Mimosa pudica</em> tannin as a Cr biosorbent from textile wastewater. There are two steps to synthesis tannin gel biosorbent. They are the tannin extraction and the condensation polymerization process. Tannin is easily soluble in water so the condensation polymerization process is needed to make it insoluble in water. The extraction of <em>Mimosa pudica </em>tannin was done using water solvent. The condensation polymerization process was done by the reaction of tannin extract and formaldehyde. The Cr content of textile industry wastewater in the Pasar Kliwon, Surakarta was 4 ppm. The results of the biosorption of Cr heavy metal using <em>Mimosa pudica</em> tannin gel showed that the remaining Cr heavy metal was 0.7098 ppm. AN INTERIOR STUDY OF JOYOSURAN WARD OFFICE IN SURAKARTA- INDONESIA ON THE ASPECTS OF FUNCTIONS AND SPACE FORMING AND FILLING ELEMENTS

Surakarta is a city that has 54 villages/wards spreading across five sub-districts, namely: Pasar Kliwon, Jebres, Banjarsari, Laweyan, and Serengan. The buildings of ward offices in Surakarta are fascinating because they are some of the works of human culture influenced by local culture. The Joyosuran Ward Office building is Joglo, a strong Javanese nuance intended as a sign of Solo city's distinctive identity. On average, pendapa at ward offices is glass-walled and appears open with two doors at the front and the back. The function of a ward pendapa is as a meeting space, village gatherings, and other meetings. The next building is the office. The style of the ward office building in Surakarta is colonial architecture, a term for buildings with a form (or outside impression) of Nusantara's (Indonesian) architecture and modern architecture adapted to the climate, building materials, and technology developed at the current time. This research aims to find out the functions, elements of the form, and space fillers of the Joyosuran Ward Office in Surakarta. The research method used in this research is an analysis method with an interior design approach conducted at Joyosuran Ward Office in Surakarta. Data collected from informants, literature, and objects/artifacts. The results show that the functions, elements of form, and space fillers of the Joyosuran Ward Office are a public service office under the lowest government level management. The buildings are a mixture of colonial and Javanese styles. The benefits of this research's results can be an essential source of information for the development of interior design studies and cultured public buildings

Sosialisasi dan Penyuluhan Sadar Wisata Pada Pengembangan Kampung Wisata Baluwarti Sebagai Kampung Wisata Menuju Pariwisata Budaya di Kota Surakarta

ABSTRACT
 Tourism is part of the field of economic activity that has a multiplier effect, not only providing benefits locally but also nationally, regionally and even globally. At this time, tourism has become a livelihood for the community. The national tourism policy is handed down to the provincial, city-regency and local governments. Implementation and execution of the program must start from the predetermined destination site environment, namely tourism awareness for the community. Baluwarti Village, Baluwarti Sub-District, Pasar Kliwon District, Surakarta City, is an important part of the main destination supporting the international-standard Surakarta Kasunanan Palace. The level of tourism awareness that has not been understood needs to be socialized through the Sapta Pesona concept. Tourism actors are expected to be professional in handling visitors through guides, developing palace area destinations, fulfilling hospitality and synergizing between departments in tourism activities.

Personal Name and Lineage: Patronym of Arab Descent in Indonesia

Research on patronym recently focuses only on the names of European and Russian communities. The patronyms that appear are limited to the names of the boys who use his father’s name. Arab descent in Indonesia has a more complex patronymic tradition used for male and female, featuring not only the father’s name but also the grandfather’s name as a patron. To fill the gap, this study aimed to explore the forms and patterns of patronyms in the personal names of Arab descent, especially viewed from gender differences by utilizing the onomastic framework. The dataset was taken from the Pasar Kliwon Subdistrict population data which was retrieved from the Population and Civil Registration Agency of Surakarta City. The biological father’s name is juxtaposed to find out and validate the existence of a patronym in the child’s name. The results showed that of 4,756 Arab descent names, 1,114 people (637 males and 477 females) were found who have personal names containing the names of fathers. Only 150 people (92 males and 58 females) have the name of grandfathers in their names. The names of the father and/or grandfather are generally present after the first name and before the surname. Besides being used to claim community membership, patronyms are also intended to show the lineage and the expression of emotional ties between family members. Patronym among Arab descent in Indonesia presents evidence of how the naming system influences robust patrilineal systems and endogamous marriages.

Masque, Da’wa, and Social Resilience

A mosque is commonly known as a place for Muslim to do pray. Sampangan mosque has been multifunctional as spiritual and non-spiritual development of the society as so far, particularly in the form of empowerment and strengthening the social defense from radical religious movements. How about society empowerment carried out by the Sampangan mosque in Pasar Kliwon Surakarta improving the social and religious resilience of the community? This research is a qualitative descriptive, data collection is done through observation; deep interview; and documentation on community empowerment and strengthening the social defense of the community from radical religious movement. Data analysis uses an interactive analysis model of data reduction, displaying data, and conclusions. society empowerment through the Sampangan mosque in Surakarta is indirectly to improve the social life of worshipers and society. Empowerment through the Sampangan mosque strengthens the capacity, the aspects of education, economics, health, and moderate religious narratives to strengthen the resilience of the community from radical religious movement by assisting the community.

Dinamika Terbentuknya Wilayah Kampung Arab di Surakarta

<p class="Abstract"><em>A majority of modern-day Arab-Indonesians are the descendant of Hadramaut immigrants who came to Indonesia. They have stayed and settled in area near each other that are now known as kampung Arab. Most kampung Arab in Indonesia show that Arabs had similar pattern in their way of settling. Surakarta, as the chosen location, has kampung Arab located at Pasar Kliwon. There are theories about how these kampung Arab, including Pasar Kliwon, were developed. The objective of this study is to explore the four theories of Kampung Arab Pasar Kliwon development factors and the chronological sequence of those factors. This study is a qualitative research that uses secondary analysis of the previous studies as its method. Data verification utilised triangulation method, using various approaches, such as observation, interview, and participatory mapping. All four theories are considered valid. Based on the history of Kampung Arab Pasar Kliwon development, the factors in chronological order are economic activities, community, keraton (imperial) government policy, and colonial government policy.</em><em></em></p>

The Role of Social Media as a Measures of Information Delivery to Reduce the Risk of Flood Disasters in Kecamatan Pasar Kliwon, Surakarta City in 2020

<em>This study aims to perceptions and responses to flood disaster risk reduction social media in Pasar Kliwon District, Surakarta City, 2020. Utilization of whatsapp social media as a means of delivering information to the public in an effort to reduce disaster risk flooding in Pasar Kliwon Subdistrict, Surakarta City, 2020. the impact of the use of whatsapp social media as a means of delivering information on community efforts to reduce the risk of flood disasters in Pasar Kliwon District, Surakarta.The results of the study are as follows: Perception of flood disaster in Pasar Kliwon Subdistrict, if viewed from the potential of the disaster, it can be categorized as very large. For flood disaster vulnerability is also categorized as flood disaster prone. And disaster mitigation is carried out in the form of responsiveness and preparedness from stakeholders. Here the use of social media as a means of delivering flood disaster information.</em>

The Effect of Short Stature on Children’s Cognitive Abilities and Psychosocial Condition

Background: Children are categorized as short stature when the Height for Age results are below the 3rd percentile of CDC growth chart standard. Short stature on children will have an impact on increased mortality and morbidity, children’s cognitive development, and psychological abilities. This study aims to investigate the effect of short stature on cognitive abilities and psychosocial condition of primary school children. Subjects and Methods: This was an observational analytic research with a cross-sectional design. A total of 81 students from 3rd – 5th grades of Pasar Kliwon 01 Primary School was included in this study. A consecutive sampling technique was used to select the subject. The student’s height was measured by using microtoise. Children’s cognitive ability was assessed based on mathematics, Indonesian languages, and natural sciences score. Children’s psychosocial condition was assessed using Pediatric Symptom Checklist-17. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test and logistic regression with SPSS 16.0 for windows. Results: 50 of 81 students were classified as normal height and 31 students with short stature. Short stature children had lower cognitive abilities (p=0,047) and psychosocial condition (p=0,027) than normal height children. Sex (p=0,058), age (p=0,233), and socio-economic condition (p=0,767) were not associated with children’s cognitive abilities. Age (p=0,264), sex (p=0,913), and socio-economic condition (p=0,138) were also not associated with children’s psychosocial condition. Conclusion: There is a statistically significant effect of short stature on children’s cognitive abilities and psychosocial condition in primary school. Age, sex, and socio-economic condition are not associated with children’s cognitive abilities and psychosocial condition. Screening and comprehensive management of short stature are needed to minimize the negative effect. Keywords: short stature; cognitive ability; psychosocial condition. Correspondence: Heni Hastuti. Penerapan Fleksibilitas Sebagai Strategi Desain Perancangan Kampung Kota Vertikal Kenteng Semanggi, Surakarta

<p><em>Dwelling is not only about a solid building, but also the activity system. Squatter Dwelling or kampong has varies identity and one can be described from their spaces usage colerated with their activity. It can be seen with substantial changes in the house users, their daily needs, economical reason, and their cultural environment. The research takes a case study in Kampung Kenteng, Kelurahan Semanggi, Kecamatan Pasar Kliwon, Surakarta. This research aims to signify flexibility values as design strategy by discover the use of compact housing as a multifunctional and adaptable space which can acomodate the needs of daily and economical living in limited space of Kampung with the creative use of flexibility. This paper present a comperhensive review of eleven points of flexibility which are permeability, versatility, legibility, expandibility, convertibility, adaptable, transformable, moveable, time cycle and time management, continuity and stability, and implemented over time. Furthermore, the theory will be implemented in the design of Vertical Kampung Kota Kenteng Semanggi to reveal how flexibility takes an important role in the arrangement of spaces usage in squatter housing with the possibility to expand and respond to changes.</em></p>

Arabic Greeting Variations in Surakarta (Sociolinguistic Studies)

This study aims to describe the variation of the greeting words used by Arabians in Surakarta. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data in this research is the speech language used by the Arab ethnic community in Kecamatan Pasar Kliwon, Surakarta by searching for linguistic features on the variation of the word greeting. Sources of data were obtained from informants who were Arabs in Surakarta. Technique of data analysis using technique of padan. Based on analysis results can be concluded that the variation of Arabic greeting of Arabian community in Surakarta has its own peculiarities. Such distinctiveness is indicated through the greetings associated with pronouns, kinship, social status, and professions used by Arabs more still influenced by the Arabic element. Nevertheless, some of the greetings have shifted in Indonesian and Javanese.

DISPARITY OF THE ARABIC NAME: THE SPOTLIGHT ON CHILDREN OF ENDOGAMOUS AND EXOGAMOUS MARRIAGES AMONG HADRAMI-ARABS IN INDONESIA

This study explores the influence of endogamous marriage (Arab-Arab family) and exogamous (Arab-Javanese family) on the personal name of Hadrami-Arab who living in the Kampong Arab Pasar Kliwon, Surakarta. Endogamous marriage among Hadrami-Arab resulted in identity retention, especially ethnic identity. In contrast, exogamous marriages play a role in generating a hybrid entity that inherits the characteristics of each ethnic parent, including personal name. Utilizing Net Consolidation Data for the First Semester of 2017 – download as of February 23, 2018– managed by the Data and Statistics Division of the Population and Civil Registration Agency of Surakarta, the names of the residents of Pasar Kliwon Subdistrict were classified according to the ethnicities of both parents. The elements in name construction were then identified to formulize the naming system utilizing the socio-onomastics framework. From the analysis, it can be revealed that the endogamous marriage became the dominant marriage as an effort to maintain the lineage of their ancestors, especially the male line (patrilineal). This effort is followed by giving the newborn baby name by adopting the name of his/her father, grandfather’s, or a combination of both. The attachment of surname after the personal name is also a characteristic of children who born from endogamous family. Meanwhile, families from exogamous marriages (Javanese mother and Arab fathers) prefer to name their child with a hybrid name through a combination of naming systems from their cultural background, Arabic-Javanese words and vise versa. The selection of Arabic names by Hadrami-Arabs is emphasized more highlight their ethnic identity, even though it also displays their religious status, Islam.

PHONOLOGICAL VARIATION OF PASAR KLIWON ARABIC DIALECT SURAKARTA

<p>This article studies about sound variation sand sound change in Arabic dialect Pasar Kliwon. The data searching use observe (<em>simak</em>) and conversation (<em>cakap</em>) method. The technique of data searching is record (<em>rekam</em>) and register (<em>catat</em>). The data searching refers to question list from 120 swadesh vocabularies. Data analysis used padan method and depends on informan’s speech organ. The analysis research use sound change theory according to Crowley (1992) and Muslich (2012). The vowel sound in Arabic dialect Pasar Kliwon divided by two kinds: short vowel sound and long vowel sound. There are twenty sevenconsonant sounds and divided by seven kinds: plosive, fricative, affricative, liquid, voiced, voiceless, and velariation sound. The sound variation of semi-vowel is <em>wawu</em> and <em>ya</em>>’. The vowel sound change divided by four kinds: lenition, anaptycsis, apocope, metathesis. The consonant sound change divided by four kinds: lenition, anaptycsis, apocope, and sincope.The diftong sound change is monoftongitation.</p>

Vs30 Mapping and Site Classification in Surakarta City Based on Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves Method

The Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) method is one of the noninvasive methods that can be used to determine the shear wave velocity. The shear wave velocity can be obtained from the inversion of dispersion curve of the Rayleigh wave. The surveys have done at 10 sites in Surakarta city. Active MASW measurements are performed by using the P.A.S.I. Seismograph Mod. 16S24-P. Geophone used as many as 24 channels with threshold frequency is 4.5 Hz of the vertical component and 8 lbs hammer as an active source. Each spread is given once shot point at 5 to 10 meters from the near geophone. The measurement data as a time domain is transformed to frequency domain. The average shear wave velocity up to 30 meters depth is referred as Vs30. The results show that the distribution Vs30 of Surakarta between 250 − 450 m/s. Based on the National Earthquake Hazard Reduction Program (NEHRP) classification, these values are classified as C and D class. The highest Vs30 values at the southwest part (Laweyan site) is 435.7 m/s and the northern part (Banjarsari site) is 411.7 m/s classified as site class C. Meanwhile, the lowest Vs30 values at the northwest and southeast part (Serengan and Pasar Kliwon sites) classified as D class.

The Survival Strategy of Poor People in Surakarta

This research aimed to find out the surviving strategy of poor people in Kelurahan Semanggi, Pasar Kliwon Sub District, Surakarta. This study employed descriptive case study research method, with purposive sampling being the technique for selecting informant and poor people living in Kelurahan Semanggi, Pasar Kliwon Sub District, Surakarta being the unit of analysis to be studied. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interview, observation, and documentation of activities related to the surviving strategy of poor people in Kelurahan Semanggi, Pasar Kliwon Sub District, Surakarta. Data validation was carried out using data source triangulation with an interactive model of data analysis. The result of research showed that the surviving strategy taken by poor people in Kelurahan Semanggi was divided into 3. Firstly, active strategy was taken by telling the wife to work in order to help suffice the family’s need. Secondly, passive strategy was taken to apply parsimoniously living pattern, such as minimizing money spending, prioritizing more the expenditure for food need than that for other needs, minimizing the expenditure for their children’s pocket money and some people admitted that they were dependent on the government’s grant. Thirdly, the final strategy was network strategy taken by borrowing money from relatives, neighbor and other relations.

REVITALIZATION MODEL OF ETHNIC SETTLEMENT TO PRESERVE CULTURAL HERITAGE AND SUPPORT TOURISM IN SURAKARTA

The main aim of this research is to formulate a revitalizing model of ethnic settlement through the effort of preserving cultural heritage and supporting community-based tourism in Surakarta. It is a qualitative research which uses primary and secondary sources. The research data is gathered through in-depth interviews, guided group discussions, field observations, and the close reading method [metode simak]. The data was obtained through the triangulation method. The data is then analyzed by using the interactive analysis technique. The results of the research are as follows: First, the kinds of ethnic settlements which still survive are Baluwarti, Kauman, Laweyan, Pecinan in Balong and Kampung Arab Pasar Kliwon. Second, writings on the variety of ethnic settlements in Surakarta are still limited. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance this community-based ethnic settlement through writings so that the community would be better known and be able to benefit from the existing tourism settlement projects. Third, the final model is formulated, i.e. the final Interpretation-Based and Benefit-Oriented Model which is shortened as IBaBOM. This means that what is being constructed is a revitalizing model based on interpretative writings. The objective is to secure benefits for Surakarta.The elements to formulate this model are the potentials, problems, and stakeholders. The potentials refer to the attractions, accessibilities, amenities, and activities. Problems cover matters related to diversifications, collaborations, human resource, thought patterns, and promotion. Stakeholders comprise of the community, the government, higher learning institutions, private enterprises, non-governmental organizations, and associations or “paguyuban.” The benefits are the various outcomes which can be enjoyed by all the stakeholders vis-a-vis the process of the empowerment of ethnic communities and the development of culture based tourism in Surakata.According to the Intepretation-Based and Benefit-Oriented Model or (IBaBOM), both the community and the tourists will have knowledge of the history and culture of the ethnic community. The ethnic community as well as the surrounding communities will derive benefits or profits from the undertaking.

ARABIC ETHNIC HOUSES IN KAMPUNG ARAB PASAR KLIWON AS THE PRODUCT OF ACCULTURATION

<em>The wave of migration to Indonesia cause multiculturalism in their communities. Acculturation happened when the imigrant’s culture meet and blend with the native’s culture. Hadhrami immigrants came and stayed in Indonesia, bringing their original culture from Yaman. Islam as their religion became the important part of their life and effecting the culture, wherever they live. Adapting to the native culture and local condition was needed when they chose to settle in Indonesia. Dutch colonization at that time effected Indonesian society’s way of life, so are the immigrants. Socio-cultural dynamics will influence and expressed by architecture form. The objective of this study was to identify acculturation between Arab, Islam, Indonesia, and Dutch culture on architecture of Arab’s ancient houses in Kampung Arab Pasar Kliwon. Research method used in this study is qualitative-explorative and using descriptive as analysis method. Acculturation between Arab, Islam, Indonesia, and Dutch cultures on the Arab’s ancient houses in Kampung Arab Pasar Kliwon, found through the existence of Arab vernacular architecture, islamic concept architecture, tropical-humid architecture, and Dutch colonial architecture on the design program, interior elements, and exterior elements.</em>

KAJIAN SOSIODIALEKTOLOGI BAHASA MASYARAKAT HADRAMIY (STUDI KASUS MASYARAKAT INDONESIA KETURUNAN ARAB DI PASAR KLIWON SURAKARTA)

<p>This research examines the genetic relationship and separating time of language used by generation of Arab in Pasar Kliwon Surakarta along Arabic language. The data source of this research is Hadramy community in Arabic Department Universitas Sebelas Maret and group of pupils of Hadramy generation studying in SMA Islam Diponegoro Surakarta. The collecting data was done by talking technique and calling up the questions, and continued by noting and recording data. The analyzing data used phonetic equalizing method. The results of the research reveal, first, Pasar Kliwon’n language has historic relationship to Arabic language. The research finds 136 couple words that have genetic relationship among 200 Swadesh used vocabularies, or 68% among them. It clear to be concluded that relationship occurred between two variants of that language. Second, the separating time of language was predicted taking place in 1011 to 1207 (counted from 2017).</p>
