TINJAUAN HUKUM EKONOMI SYARI’AH TERHADAP AKAD PERJANJIAN KERJA SAMA ANTARA PORTER DAN PT. KAI

The cooperative relationship between the company and the workers still leaves serious problems regarding the rights and obligations of each party, as well as what happens in the cooperative relationship between the porter and the company PT. KAI at Palembang Kertapati Station. This study aims to determine the mechanism of the work relationship between the porter and PT. KAI at Palembang Kertapati Station, knowing the role of porters in improving the service quality of PT. KAI at Palembang Kertapati Station, and knowing the sharia economic law review of the cooperation agreement between the porter and PT. KAI at Palembang Kertapati Station. The method used in this research is to use a qualitative approach. This type of research is field research. Sources of data used are primary data sources and secondary data sources. Respondents or informants in this study are people who have knowledge of the work of porters at Palembang Kertapati Station, and some of the porters themselves. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of the analysis in the discussion can be concluded from several points, namely: First, the working relationship between the porter and PT. KAI at Palembang Kertapati Station is a volunteer worker at PT. KAI that works at Palembang Kertapati Station with a permit and coordination mechanism at the Head of Kertapati Station in Palembang. Second, the role of porters in improving the service quality of PT. KAI at Palembang Kertapati Station is to fulfill the vision of PT. KAI. And third, a review of sharia economic law on the cooperation agreement that if viewed based on the contract, the work agreement or syirkah (in Islamic view) that occurs between the porter and PT. KAI is a syirkah 'abdan / syirkah' charity, and if seen according to thecontract ijarah, even though in the working relationship between the porter and PT. KAI at Palembang Kertapati Station according to PT. KAI that porter is not part of PT. KAI and also not part of Palembang Kertapati Station, but the wages earned by porters are directly from passengers who use their services on the terms of the rates set by PT. KAI.

A Deeper Insight into Stability of Pt-Alloy Nanoparticles as Oxygen Reduction Reaction Electrocatalysts

One of the links in the chain of creating a carbon-neutral society is undoubtedly hydrogen-powered vehicles. However, due to a very high price of platinum (Pt), which is used as an electrocatalyst for the hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) at the anode, as well as the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) at the cathode of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), their massive production is still unfeasible. Moreover, a very slow kinetics of the ORR and consequently the need for larger quantities of electrocatalyst makes this issue even higher. Therefore, in the fuel cell community there is a lot of effort to reduce the use of Pt. The most promising solution on that path seems to be carbon supported Pt-based nanoalloys, where part of Pt is replaced by a less noble and at the same time less expensive metal (e.g. Co, Cu, Fe, Ni).1 Nevertheless, although the ORR activity of carbon supported Pt-based alloys has been extensively studied and already proven, their stability is still an unsolved area. Here will be presented the latest findings regarding the stability of the carbon supported intermetallic Pt-alloy nanoparticles (Pt-M/C, where M = Co, Cu or Ni) obtained by utilization of advanced, in-house designed methodologies such as the high-temperature accelerated degradation tests (HT-ADTs) and the high-temperature electrochemical flow cell coupled to an inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (HT-EFC-ICP-MS).2,3 Whereas the former enables ADT to be performed in a liquid electrolyte half-cell using a standard rotating disk electrode at temperatures of up to 80 °C, the latter allows for precise (ppb range) time-temperature-and-potential resolved measurements of dissolution of metals. By simulating close-to-real operational conditions, these technologies enabled to show that in addition to the carbon corrosion, which follows the Arrhenius law and increases exponentially with temperature,3,4 also Pt dissolution, as well as less noble metal dissolution, increases with increasing temperature.2,3 However, with an increase in temperature, not only the dissolution of Pt, but also the rate of its re-deposition (due to the Ostwald ripening) is increased at the same time.2,3,5 Furthermore, the widening of the potential window results in an exponential growth of temperature impact on metals dissolution.2,3 These previous findings about the dependence of the stability of Pt and less noble metal on the temperature and potential window2 will be upgraded with new information about the impact of some other non-intrinsic as well as intrinsic properties on the stability of metal nanoparticles in the carbon supported Pt-nanoalloys. In other words, the effect of a different number of cycles of the degradation tests on the behavior of Pt and less noble metal in the operational potential window (i.e. 0.6-0.95 V) at the high temperature (60 °C) will be presented. Work Factors, Employee Performance, and Job Satisfaction in Manufacturing

This quantitative research study aims to investigate the influence of work-related factors on employee performance and job satisfaction within a manufacturing organization. The research objectives encompass exploring the effects of work motivation, work environment, and workload on employee performance, as well as their influence on job satisfaction. The study employed a systematic approach, with a sample of 350 employees from the production department of the organization. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires, and the validity of the data was assessed using Path Analysis. The results reveal that work motivation positively affects performance, along with the significant impacts of work environment and workload on performance. Furthermore, work motivation, work environment, and workload all have direct effects on job satisfaction. The findings also suggest that performance acts as an intervening variable, mediating the relationship between motivation, work environment, workload, and job satisfaction. The implications of this study provide valuable insights for organizations seeking to enhance employee performance and job satisfaction through targeted interventions in work-related factors.

The sense of belonging to the organization also increases, so that leadership and discipline as well as high work productivity can improve employee performance. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of management and work discipline simultaneously and partially on work productivity and its effect on employee performance at PT. SIER Surabaya. The sample of this research is 96 employees from all parts of PT. SIER Surabaya. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, distributing questionnaires, interviews and literature study. Analytical methods and path analysis with SPSS version 25 for Windows. The result of the coefficient of determination (Adjusted R2) of 0.788 for the dependent variable of labor productivity means that the percentage of influence of leadership and work discipline on labor productivity is 78.8%. The coefficient of determination of the dependent variable on employee performance is 0.738, meaning that the influence of leadership, work discipline and work productivity on employee performance is 73.8%. The conclusion of this study is that an increase in employee performance is achieved by increasing leadership skills, work discipline and work productivity. Suggestions for PT. SIER Surabaya to provide an example of good leadership to employees and encourage employee discipline to increase work productivity and employee efficiency at PT. SIER Surabaya

The Influence of Promotion and Reputation on Purchase Decisions of Pegadaian Gold Saving Products (Study on Customers of Syariah Gold Savings Account, Pegadaian Syariah Bandar Lampung Branch)

Gold is considered an investment with relatively low risk and its value is almost always profitable because it is an investment object whose value tends to increase, thereby increasing public interest in investing in gold. Pegadaian Syariah, which is part of PT. Pegadaian, has innovated by releasing a product called Gold Savings with the aim of facilitating people who want to own gold at an affordable price and with minimal capital by saving. However, in recent years there has been a decrease in the number of Gold Savings customers at the Radin Intan Sharia Pawnshop which was influenced by the promotion factors carried out and the company's reputation. So that, in this study discusses promotion and reputation on customers' decisions to buy Gold Savings products at the Radin Intan Sharia Pegadaian Branch using the nonprobability sampling method using the Purposive Sampling method category, with a total sample of 140 respondents. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis and partial hypothesis testing (t-test). The results obtained in this study indicate that promotion and reputation have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions for Gold Savings products at the Radin Intan Branch Sharia Pawnshop with a total sample of 140 respondents. Analisa Penerapan Sistem Manajemen Mutu Berbasis ISO 9001:2005 pada Perusahaan PT. Waskita Karya

ISO 9000 is a process standard established to demonstrate that a company has a comprehensive and specialized quality system. ISO 9001:2015 is a worldwide accepted QMS benchmark. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) points out that the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system is based on seven principles, namely, customer focus, leadership, people involvement, process approach, improvement, decision making and relationship management. This study aims to determine how the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 and the level of implementation of ISO 9001:2015 at PT. Waskita Karya on the Kayu Agung – Palembang – Betung Toll Road Project. The research was conducted by distributing questionnaires directly. The data collected in this study were 10 respondents. From the results of this study, it was found that the level of implementation of ISO 9001:205 in the quality management system of the Kayu Agung - Palembang - Betung Toll Road Construction project by PT. Waskita Karya has obtained very good results because from clause 4 to clause 10 the value obtained is 90.4%. In addition, PT. Waskita Karya made a quality policy called Waskita Procedure (PW) based on ISO 9001:2015, where the policy must be applied in all parts of PT. Waskita Karya.

In situ surface chemical properties and catalytic performances of Pt/CeO2 catalyst in methane partial oxidation under different conditions

The changes of oxygen vacancies and Pt valence on ceria supported precious metals materials often occur in methane partial oxidation reaction, leading to catalyst and reactivity variability. In this work, in situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were used to investigate the surface chemical properties under no or different gas-phase oxygen concentrations and reaction temperatures, then the correlation between the chemistries with reaction performance were proposed. When only methane is present, reactive oxygen on catalyst surface are the oxygen source for methane oxidation. The oxygen vacancies on catalyst are abundant and part of Pt is reduced to zero valence. However, when the mixture of methane and oxygen is present at low temperature, gas-phase oxygen cannot be utilized directly, but could absorb on the oxygen vacancies and Pt, making oxygen vacancies reduction and Pt oxidation. Only when the temperature is higher than 400 °C, it can be converted into reactive oxygen species to participate in reaction, simultaneously, oxygen vacancy generation and Pt reduction, promoting the reaction continuous. Before the reaction begins, it is necessary to keep the catalyst rich in oxygen vacancies and metallic state of Pt for methane conversion at low temperature. The research is helpful to design catalysts and improve reactivity.

An easy-to-synthesize porous Mo2C@C nanoparticles substitute part of Pt as electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction

• Porous Mo 2 C@C nanoparticles are designed and synthesized. • The optimized Mo 2 C@C-Pt/C composite delivers excellent HER electrocatalytic performance. • Effects of Pt/C addition on electrocatalytic performance of Mo 2 C@C are discussed. Developing highly-efficient, low-cost and stable hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) electrocatalyst plays an important role in the strategy to develop hydrogen energy. Herein, molybdenum carbide nanoparticles embedded in porous carbon were facilely synthesized by calcining the mixture of ammonium molybdate, melamine and glucose. When mixed in proportion with commercial Pt/C, the optimized sample exhibits outstanding electrocatalytic activity with low overpotential, small Tafel slope and excellent stability for HER in acidic media.

Implementasi Metode Prototype Pada ASDP Merak Banten Berbasis Android

ASDP Merak Banten is part of PT. ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) which is engaged in crossing services at the port of Merak-Banten. In the Merak-Bakauheni Port crossing service, operational data for each ship is different. Data from the operational results of crossing each ship is processed by the ASDP Merak by recording it on the sheet of the operational form of the ship and recapitulated using the Microsoft Excel application. Searching for operational data on ships is also quite difficult, because officers do so by opening each file until the desired data is found. To simplify recapitulation of operational data on ships, an Android-based system was made. The system built is integrated with the parts related to the operational data processing of the ship. This system is based on Android with a minimum operating system version of use is 5.0 (Lollipop). System development methods used are prototypes and data collection methods using interviews and literature study. The programming language used in building this system is Java with a programming editor using Android Studio. The type of database used in this system is MySQL.The system that is built also has a ship's departure schedule that can be seen by passengers if the passenger installs this application.Key Words: ASPD Merak, Ship Operation, Prototype, Android, MySQL.

Perbandingan Algoritma K-Means, X-Means Dan K-Medoids Untuk Klasterisasi Awak Kabin Lion Air

Lion Air is part of PT. Lion Group, which is a airline in Indonesia and a low-cost airline based in Jakarta, Lion Air throughout the year experienced an increase in its fleet and an increase in the number of flights, the greater the need for cabin crew, in addition to the recruitment process which must be selective, it is also necessary to monitor the crew. cabin crew so that cabin crew performance will continue to be well maintained so that several groups are formed called cabin crew monitoring groups, currently cabin crew clustering is carried out randomly so as to produce group members with different characteristics. Clustering should be computerized by utilizing data mining clustering, at the data processing stage by eliminating missing values and determining attributes, it produces 100 data, at the modeling stage the most optimum results obtained using the k-means algorithm are 4 clusters and 6 attributes are indicated by the Davies-value. The Bouldin Index (DBI) is 0.792, while the DBI value for the x-means algorithm is 0.812 and the k-medoids algorithm is 1.700 so that the k-means algorithm is the best algorithm in this study.

Analisis Beban Kerja Menggunakan Metode NASA-TLX Pada CV. Bahagia Jaya Alsindo

CV Bahagia Jaya Alsindo is part of PT. Bahagia Jaya Sejahtera, a member of the Bahagia Jaya Group, is known as a producer of agricultural, industrial, agricultural, livestock and fishery equipment / machinery. Problems arising from the many demands of work from the company to the production operator that resulted in the production process not running optimally, there are indications of employee turnover and work space that is not comfortable so that makes employees feel stressed at work. This study aims to determine the workload of hammer mill machine production operators measuring and cutting materials, assembling, painting, and finishing good, to determine the factors that cause mental workload with employee turnover indications and to reduce the mental workload felt by hammer mill production operators. The method used in this study is NASA-TLX (Task Load Index) with two stages, namely the weighting stage and the grading stage. Initial research results obtained WWL (Weight Workload) operator part of the measurement and cutting materials by 73.56, the Assembling section by 76.00, the painting part by 72.00, and finishing good by 73.33 where the results experienced a mental workload high. Proposed improvement is done by holding psych tests, providing training, providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working and holding work shifts.

The Effect of Spirituality in the Workplace and Spiritual Leadership on the Performance of Workers in the Production Part of PT. Makassar Tene

Human resources as production support must be considered. Problems related to HR that often occur can hinder the performance of an organization. This study aims to see the effect of spirituality at work and spiritual leadership on performance through job satisfaction. Quantitative research method with cross sectional design with 62 respondents. The data was conducted by means of interviews. Bivariate analysis using the person Chi Square test, and Multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression. The results of this study indicate that spirituality in the workplace has an effect on job satisfaction (p = 0,000), spirituality at work has an effect on performance (p = 0.022), spirituality has an effect on performance (p = 0.003), and spiritual leadership has no effect on job satisfaction. (p = 0.264), job satisfaction has no effect on performance (p = 0.606), job satisfaction does not mediate between spirituality and performance (t count = 0.431), and job satisfaction does not mediate between spiritual leadership and performance (t count = 0.009). Spirituality at work has an effect on job satisfaction, spirituality in the workplace has an effect on work performance, spiritual leadership has an effect on performance, spiritual leadership has no effect on job satisfaction, job satisfaction does not affect performance, job satisfaction does not radiate between spirituality at work and performance and satisfaction. work does not mediate between spiritual leadership and performance of workers in the production section of PT. Makassar Tene.

Nanostructuring Pt Electrocatalysts Supported on Nanocrystalline SnO2 for Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells

Introduction Conventional Pt/C electrocatalysts for PEFCs have a difficulty in durability against start-stop potential cycling, mainly due to degradation of carbon black through electrochemical oxidation especially on the cathode side. SnO2 is known to be stable at a high potential under the PEFC cathode conditions, so that SnO2 is considered as an alternative support material for PEFC cathodes [1-4]. In particular, we have prepared the oxide-core Pt-shell electrocatalyst that can reduce materials cost of PEFCs while developing electrocatalysts with both higher durability and ORR mass activity [3]. In our previous study [5], freeze drying has been successfully applied as an effective procedure for highly dispersing SnO2 nanoparticles on relatively-stable conductive framework, for nanostructuring PEFC electrocatalysts as shown in Fig. 1. Here, the objective of this study is to directly deposit Pt on SnO2 on an atomic level by applying a chemical procedure towards the oxide-core Pt-shell electrocatalyst preparation. Experimental Graphitized carbon black (GCB200, Cabot) was used as the conductive filler of the electrocatalysts acting as the conductive framework. SnO2 was prepared on the conductive filler via the microwave homogeneous precipitation. In order to deposit Pt on the surface of the SnO2, Pt(acac)2 and acetone were added to the Sn-containing solution. Pt/SnO2/GCB was prepared via the freeze drying, and heat treatment was performed to obtain a Pt-based catalyst powder. Nanostructure of the electrocatalysts obtained was observed by FE-SEM and STEM. ICP analysis was also made to quantify Pt loading. Electrochemical characterization of these electrocatalysts was carried out by half-cell measurements. Electrochemical surface area (ESCA) was measured by cyclic voltammetry (CV). Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity was derived from kinetically controlled current density (ik) after the rotating disk electrode (RDE) measurement. Results and discussion We have succeeded to prepare SnO2 nanoparticles with a diameter of about 3 nm on the conductive filler in higher dispersion by applying the microwave homogeneous precipitation and the freeze drying. In addition, it was revealed that Pt nanoparticles were selectively deposited on nanocrystalline SnO2. Furthermore, high-resolution STEM observation revealed that a part of Pt was deposited near an atomic level on the SnO2 surface which could be a Pt-shell of the electrocatalysts, as shown in Fig. 2. Especially in Fig. 2(b), Pt atoms could be distinguished on the nanocrystalline SnO2 particles acting as a core of the electrocatalyst, with a minimized electron-conductive pathway between the Pt catalyst and the GCB conductive framework. PENGARUH KEPRIBADIAN, SELF EFFICACY DAN LOCUS OF CONTROL TERHADAP KINERJA KARYAWAN

This study aims to determine whether there is a significant effect of personality, self-efficacy and locus of control on employee performance. Data collected from distributing questionnaires to 85 respondents who are part of PT. Pegadaian (Persero) Kebayoran Lama Branch Office. The research methodology used is quantitative processing of questionnaire data and observations with multiple linear regression analysis methods. Based on the results of the study, it is known that simultaneously personality, self-efficacy and locus of control have a significant influence on employee performance. Personality and self-efficacy partially have a significant effect on employee performance. Locus of control partially has no effect on employee performance. The percentage of the influence of personality, self-efficacy and locus of control on employee performance is 18.9%, the remaining 81.1% is influenced by other variables not included in this study

Production Data Analysis and Sonolog for Determining Artificial Lift Design and Well Characteristic

Tarakan Field, North Kalimantan is a part of PT. Pertamina EP Asset 5. The Tarakan Field has 5 structures in the form of Pamusian, Juata, Sesanip, Mangatal, and Sembakung. The Tarakan Field has 57 production wells and 6 injection wells. The wells at Tarakan field are produced with artificial lifts in the form of Sucker Rod Pump (SRP) totaling 25, Hydraulic Pumping Unit (HPU) totaling 11, Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) totaling 19 and Progressive Cavity Pump (PCP) totaling 2. The determination of artificial lifts is carried out by the design of well characteristics and production history. The design at Tarakan Field was carried out with an artificial lift in the form of ESP (Electric Submersible Pump). ESP is used according to reservoir and formation characteristics in Tarakan Field.
 Water Control Diagnostic Plot is a method used to analyze the effect of control on produced water. Water Control Diagnostic plot is plot between WOR and WOR derivative vs time. The plot was carried out on a log-log scale. The plot on the Water Control Diagnostic Plot is then analyzed against the graph created by the KS Chan. So from the analyzed plot, it is found whether or not there is a problem in the well at Tarakan Field. The results of the graph analysis on the well at Tarakan Field on the chart show that the field does not indicate a problem.

Current Development of Metal Complexes with Diamine Ligands as Potential Anticancer Agents.

The discovery of cisplatin and the subsequent research revealed the importance of dinitrogen-containing moiety for the anticancer action of metal complexes. Moreover, certain diamine ligands alone display cytotoxicity that contributes to the overall activity of corresponding complexes. To summarize the current knowledge on the anticancer efficacy, selectivity, and the mechanisms of action of metal complexes with various types of diamine ligands. The contribution of aliphatic acyclic, aliphatic cyclic, and aromatic diamine ligands to the anticancer activity and selectivity/toxicity of metal complexes with different metal ions were analyzed by comparison with organic ligand alone and/or conventional platinum-based chemotherapeutics. The aliphatic acyclic diamine ligands are present mostly in complexes with platinum. Aliphatic cyclic diamines are part of Pt(II), Ru(II) and Au(III) complexes, while aromatic diamine ligands are found in Pt(II), Ru(II), Pd(II) and Ir(III) complexes. The type and oxidation state of metal ions greatly influences the cytotoxicity of metal complexes with aliphatic acyclic diamine ligands. Lipophilicity of organic ligands, dependent on alkyl-side chain length and structure, determines their cellular uptake, with edda and eddp/eddip ligands being most useful in this regard. Aliphatic cyclic diamine ligands improved the activity/toxicity ratio of oxaliplatin-type complexes. The complexes with aromatic diamine ligands remain unexplored regarding their anticancer mechanism. The investigated complexes mainly caused apoptotic or necrotic cell death. Metal complexes with diamine ligands are promising candidates for efficient and more selective alternatives to conventional platinum-based chemotherapeutics. Further research is required to reveal the chemico-physical properties and molecular mechanisms underlying their biological activity.

Identification of Related Factors to Safety Behavior Perception in PT. Kimia Farma (Persero) Tbk. Plant Bandung

Perception is one of the factors that can determine the attitude and behavior of someone. Perception of safety behavior can be interpreted negatively or positively, workers who have a positive perception will tend to be supportive to behave safely so they can avoid workplace accidents. PT. Kimia Farma (Persero) Tbk. Plant Bandung is listed as a company that has received zero accident awards, meaning that there have never been work accidents that have caused loss of work time. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of worker motivation, social support, work experience, and years of service with perceptions of safety behavior of PT. Kimia Farma (Persero) Tbk. Plant Bandung 2017.The type of research used is an analytical survey using a cross-sectional approach. The study population was all production workers I part of PT. Kimia Farma (Persero) Tbk. Plant Bandung. The sampling technique of this study was purposive sampling. The study sample was 51 workers. The data analysis technique uses chi-square.The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between motivation, social support, work experience, and working period with perceptions of safety behavior.Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that motivational factors, social support, work experience and years of work are related to perceptions of safe behavior. © 2019, Indian Journal of Public Health Research and Development. Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) Variable on Employees Of PT. Smartfren Jember

This study aims to examine and analyze empirically the influence of job satisfaction, organizational culture, motivation and organizational commitment to OCB on employees of PT. Smartfren Jember. This research was conducted on employees of PT. Smartfren Jember. The research population was employees of PT. Smartfren Jember numbered 120 people. The sampling technique used in this study is proportional sampling. The numbers of samples of this study were 50 people scattered in all parts of PT. Smartfren Jember. Data analysis method uses multiple linear regression. The results showed that 1) Job satisfaction had a positive effect through OCB on employees of PT. Smartfren Jember; 2) Organizational Culture has a positive effect through OCB on employees of PT. Smartfren Jember; 3) Motivation has a positive effect through OCB on employees of PT. Smartfren Jember; 4) Organizational commitment has a positive effect through OCB on employees of PT. Oxide-Core Pt-Shell Electrocatalysts for PEFCs: Photochemical Preparation Using SnO2 Nanoparticles

Introduction Pt nano-particles dispersed on carbon black (Pt/C) are widely used as electrocatalysts for polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs). For the implementation of low-cost PEFCs, reducing the amount of expensive Pt is the important issue. Since the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) occurs on the surface of the Pt nano-particles, core-shell catalysts in which Pt atomic-layer shell is coated on metallic nano-particle core are desired in reducing the Pt usage. Although such core-shell catalysts exhibit very high mass activity compared with the commercial Pt/C, their durability still remains as a challenge (1). If expensive metals such as Au and Pd are used as the core, the cost reduction effect is also limited. According to previous studies, the durability of the PEFC electrocatalyst can be improved by using conductive oxides including SnO2 as an electrocatalyst support which has thermochemical stability under the PEFC cathode conditions (2-4). In principle, it is possible to develop electrocatalysts with both higher durability and ORR mass activity by employing such stable oxide as the core, instead of noble metal. Here, the objective of this study is to directly deposit Pt on SnO2 on an atomic level by applying a photochemical procedure towards the oxide-core Pt-shell electrocatalyst preparation. Experimental Vapor grown carbon fiber (VGCF-H), carbon nanotube (CNT), and graphitized carbon black (GCB) were applied as the conductive backbone (fillers) of the electrocatalysts. Nb-doped SnO­­2 or SnO2 was prepared on each carbon-based material via the ammonia co-precipitation, microwave homogeneous precipitation, and SnO2 sol impregnation. Pt deposition on SnO2 was made using photochemical procedure for on an atomic-level. Since this photochemical reaction occurs only on semiconductors, the selective Pt deposition on SnO2 may be possible. Support materials powders, H2PtClO6•6H2O, and HCOOH were added to ultrapure water, followed by stirring and irradiation of UV (and VIS) light in order to prepare Pt/SnO2/carbon-filler electrocatalysts. Nanostructure of the electrocatalysts obtained was observed by FE-SEM and STEM. ICP analysis was also made to quantify Pt loading. Electrochemical characterization of these electrocatalysts was carried out by half-cell measurements. Electrochemical surface area (ESCA) was measured by cyclic voltammetry (CV), and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity was derived from kinetically controlled current density (ik ) after the rotating disk electrode (RDE) measurement. Results and discussion Agglomeration of Pt nanoparticles could be suppressed by shortening UV irradiation time and reducing formic acid concentration, resulted in improved ECSA and mass activity. High-resolution STEM observation suggested that a part of Pt was deposited near an atomic level on the SnO2 surface which could be a Pt-shell of the electrocatalysts. SnO2 particle size was about 20 nm after the ammonia co-precipitation. We succeeded to prepare SnO2 core with a diameter of about 3 nm by applying the microwave homogeneous precipitation and the SnO2 sol impregnation (Figs. 1 and 2). In addition, it was revealed that dispersibility of SnO2 was improved by an activation treatment with HNO3 for carbon fillers.
