Work related musculoskeletal disorders become a hot issue in Korea since many workers reported the musculoskeletal disorder problems. The objective of this paper is to find whether workers' subjective symptoms are closely related to occupational characteristics and mu sculoskeletal stress evaluated by ergonomic techniques. Workers in an electronics companies were surveyed using a questionnaire survey form. Their work was also analyzed using ergonomic techniques. Four types of jobs, manual handling jobs, inspection jobs, assembly jobs and VDT jobs were used. It was found that 22.8% of workers reported subjective symptoms. Workers in manual handling jobs showed the most subjective symptoms ration (34.7%). It was also found that lower back was the most painful body region.. Work duration and control possibility of work speed showed significant high odd ratios. It was also found that pain reported was well correlated with ergonomic evaluation of jobs.
