Describing the geologic evolution of the east of the U.S.S.R. and contiguous regions from Archean to Recent, a precise discussion is given in regard of the evolution in: types of basins of sedimentation, magmatism, metamorphism, and mineralization. The following geoblocks are established as large independent elements of the earth's crust (Fig.1): 1. (1) In the region of evolution of continental crust: the Aldanian—Stanovoy, Sino-Korean, Amurian and Yano-Kolymian blocks (including Brooks-Ridge of Alaska). 2. (2) In the region of transition crust: the Okhotian, Beringian and Nipponian (which is united with the Sikhote—Alin block in Paleozoic time. It is supposed that during the Neogeicum, some geoblocks were in stable raised position with the predominance of ascending movements (anastable geoblocks), and the rest in the condition of complex differentiated movements (unstable geoblocks). The Aldanian-Stanovoy and probably Sino-Korean blocks, belong to the anastable geoblocks, the Yano—Kolymian to the catastable ones, and the Amurian, Nipponian (Nippon-Sikhote—Alin) and Beringian, to the unstable ones. The paper contains a scheme of geological-structural zonation of the northwestern part of the Pacific mobile belt, where the main tectonic elements of the east of the U.S.S.R., are represented by: the eastern part of the Siberian Platform, the pericratonic and marginal troughs, the regions of completed folding (the Mesozoids, Late Mesozoids and Cenozoids), the mobile regions, the marginal volcanic belts and other elements of Mesozoic—Cenozoic activity, and the modern geosynclinal region.
