Thermal Oxidation Degradation Characteristics and Kinetic Analysis of Waste Shell Powders for Efficient Utilization and Environmental Protection

ABSTRACT The thermal oxidation degradation and kinetic behavior of four waste shell powders: Hyriopsis cumingii, abalone, scallop, and clam were investigated. The thermal oxidation degradation process was elucidated using thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and the Coats-Redfern method. This process typically occurs in four stages, with the decomposition of CaCO₃ (Stage III) being pivotal. Notably, clam and scallop powders exhibited the highest CaO yields of approximately 55.1% and 55.0%, respectively. Although abalone powder had a lower yield of 50.2%, it demonstrated the lowest activation energy of 118.08 kJ/mol in Stage III, suggesting potential energy and cost savings during CaO conversion. High-temperature calcination altered the chemical composition and microstructure of the shell powders, resulting in rough and porous CaO surfaces conducive to heavy metal ion and pollutant adsorption. The research provides a theoretical framework and experimental validation for the sustainable utilization of calcined shell powders, fostering efficient shell resource management and environmental protection.

Decomposition and Changes in InVivo Post-HA Filler Injection: A Review.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are widely used in aesthetic medicine, but their invivo behavior and long-term effects are not fully understood. To review the decomposition and changes occurring in the body following HA filler injections, focusing on crosslinking agents, degradation processes, and tissue responses. This review analyzed oxidative and enzymatic degradation processes of HA fillers, evaluated the impact of 1,4-Butanediol Diglycidyl Ether (BDDE) crosslinking, and examined histological changes post-injection. Uncrosslinked HA degrades rapidly due to endogenous hyaluronidase, while crosslinked HA undergoes slower degradation via free radicals and hyaluronidase. Complete cross-linking (C-MoD) showed better durability compared to partially cross-linked BDDE (P-MoD). The concept of modification efficiency (MoE) was proposed to optimize filler safety and viscoelastic properties. Histological analysis revealed collagen capsule formation and autologous tissue replacement, affecting long-term outcomes. The degree of chemical modification (MoD) influences filler durability and safety, with concerns raised about potential delayed immune reactions from accumulated pendent BDDE. Clinicians should consider injection site, tissue conditions, and filler properties for safe and effective HA filler use. Emphasizing thorough BDDE removal and optimal crosslinking can enhance treatment safety and efficacy. The balance between achieving desired viscoelastic properties and minimizing potential risks is crucial. Future studies should include diverse ethnic groups to validate findings and further explore long-term tissue responses to HA fillers.

New chitosan schiff base-modified ferrite: Mechanistic insights and performance enhancement in photocatalysis and antibacterial applications

Harnessing biocompatibility and magnetic separability a Chitosan Schiff base-modified ferrite is an innovative approach for addressing the issue of environmental pollution. This study aims to use a new visible light-activated photocatalyst made of cobalt ferrite (CoFe) anchored with Chitosan Schiff Base (CSB) to examine Rhodamine B (RhB) photodegradation. CSB@CoFe composite was synthesized using hydrothermal and sol-gel methods. This modified CSB composite and oxygen vacancies (OVs) have been proven by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, experimental calculations, and radical capture tests. The process of oxidative degradation is facilitated by radicals such as hydroxyl (OH•) and superoxide (O2•−), as evidenced by research utilizing reactive species capture. The CSB@CoFe photocatalyst degraded 94.5 % of Rhodamine B (RhB, 50 mg/L) in 60 min at pH 7 and 1.0 g/L. The CSB@CoFe heterostructure outperformed CSB against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The photocatalyst exhibited exceptional stability across the five cycles. This study shows CSB@CoFe's persistent photocatalytic ability to degrade hazardous pollutants and act as an antimicrobial. It employs visible light to solve environmental issues positively.

Structure–reactivity relationships in the removal efficiency of catechol and hydroquinone by structurally diverse Mn-oxides

Catechol and hydroquinone are widely present hydroxybenzene isomers in the natural environment that induce environmental toxicities. These hydroxybenzene compounds can be effectively removed by manganese (Mn)-oxides via sorption and oxidative degradation processes. In the present study, we investigated the structure–reactivity relationships in the sorption and oxidation of catechol and hydroquinone on Mn-oxide surfaces. Two widely present Mn-oxides, including hydrous Mn oxide (HMO) and cryptomelane, comprised of layer and tunnel structures, respectively, are specifically studied. Effects of Mn-oxide structures and environmental pH conditions on the removal efficiency of these hydroxybenzene compounds, via sorption and oxidative degradation, are investigated. Cryptomelane, which has a higher specific surface area than HMO, possesses a higher sorption and oxidation capacity. The complexation mechanisms of catechol and hydroquinone vary due to their structure-induced difference in reactivity. Catechol reduced and dissolved more Mn from Mn-oxides than hydroquinone, accompanied by a higher C loss of catechol-C, suggesting a higher reactivity of catechol. Structural changes occurred in the Mn-oxides resulting from reaction with catechol and hydroquinone: reduction of Mn(IV), corresponding formation of Mn(III) and Mn(II) in the mineral, and free Mn2+ ions released into the suspension. These insights could help us better understand and predict the fate of hydroxybenzene compounds in Mn-oxide-rich soils and wastewater treatment systems that generate Mn-oxides via Mn removal and the associated environmental toxicity.

Pathophysiology And the Biochemical and Clinical Significance of Malondialdehyde

Malondialdehyde is a highly reactive three-carbon dialdehyde that is produced via lipid peroxidation. Lipid peroxidation is an oxidative degradation process of lipids that leads to the generation of reactive species of oxygen and free radicals. These highly reactive molecules can act upon DNA, proteins, and lipids, resulting in several pathological effects. Since MDA is capable of reacting with several cellular macromolecules like proteins, DNA, and phospholipids, it has been suggested as a possible causal factor in the pathogenesis of numerous human diseases. Therefore, the knowledge of formation and metabolism of malondialdehyde is essential for the comprehension of its biochemistry and clinical significance.

Synergy of atomic hydrogen reduction and reactive oxygen species oxidation over confined Mn bifunctional site for electrocatalytic deep mineralization

Traditional reduction or oxidation processes generating one−component free radicals face challenges in deep dechlorination and mineralization of chlorophenols from wastewater. Herein, an efficient electrocatalytic process has been developed, which couples atomic H* reduction with reactive oxidation species (•OH and 1O2) oxidation on a bifunctional cathode for 4 −chlorophenol (4 −CP) removal. The N − doped carbon nanotubes encapsulated manganese nanoparticles was fabricated as cathode, which could generate atomic H* , initiating nucleophilic hydrodechlorination in presence of confined MnO sites. Subsequently, electrophilic oxidation by generating mainly 1O2 on confined Mn7C3 sites and •OH on confined MnO sites, facilitating the oxidative processes. Experimental results and theory calculations demonstrated that reductive dechlorination and oxidative mineralization processes could mutually promote each other, resulting in an enhancement factor of 2.90. At pH 7, this process achieved 100 % removal for 4 −CP, 84 % dechlorination, 76 % total organic carbon (TOC) removal and low energy consumption (0.76 kWh g−1TOC) within 120 min. Notably, TOC for chlorophenols containing Cl substituents at different positions and real lake water containing 4 −CP could be almost completely removed. This research establishes confined non−noble bifunctional active sites that synergistically enhance reductive dechlorination and oxidative degradation processes, holding significant treatment potential for application in deep mineralization of organochlorine from water/wastewater.

Drought Stress Tolerance in Rice: Physiological and Biochemical Insights

Rice (Oryza sativa L.), an important food crop, necessitates more water to complete its life cycle than other crops. Therefore, there is a serious risk to rice output due to water-related stress. Drought stress results in morphological changes, including the inhibition of seed germination, reduced seeding growth, leaf area index, flag leaf area, increased leaf rolling, as well as the decrement of yield traits, such as plant height, plant biomass, number of tillers, and 1000-grain yield. Stress also causes the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as O2−, H2O2, and OH−, which promote oxidative stress in plants and cause oxidative damage. The process of oxidative degradation owing to water stress produces cell damage and a reduction in nutrient intake, photosynthetic rate, leaf area, RWC, WUE, and stomatal closure, which may be responsible for the decrement of the transpiration rate and plant dry matter under decreasing soil moisture. Plants have the ability to produce antioxidant species that can either be enzymatic (SOD, POD, CAT, GPX, APX) or non-enzymatic (AsA, GSH) in nature to overcome oxidative stress. During drought, several biochemical osmoprotectants, like proline, polyamines, and sugars, can be accumulated, which can enhance drought tolerance in rice. To meet the demands of an ever-growing population with diminishing water resources, it is necessary to have crop varieties that are highly adapted to dry environments, and it may also involve adopting some mitigation strategies. This study aims to assess the varying morphological, physiological, and biochemical responses of the rice plant to drought, and the various methods for alleviating drought stress.

Biobased polyesteramides derived from bisfuranic diamine and aliphatic diesters of varied chain lengths: synthesis and chemical stability

This study presents the development of a series of biobased polyesteramides, labeled as PEAF1–3, via a greener approach, from bisfuranic diamine and commercially available aliphatic diesters of varied chain lengths. The resulting polymers showed reasonable molar masses, in accordance with inherent viscosities ranging between 0.19 and 0.35 dL/g. Evaluation of their thermal properties by thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry showcased excellent thermal stability (Td ,max ≥ 335 °C), amorphous character and low glass transition temperature (Tg ) decreased with the increasing chain length. Moreover, notable finding was the exceptional stability of these polyesteramides against both hydrolytic and oxidative degradation processes. This resistance underscores their potential as highly stable materials, making them promising for various applications where durability and resistance to degradation are crucial.

Ag nanoparticle-mediated LSPR effect and electron transfer for enhanced oxidative degradation process of g-C3N5 nanoflowers

The design of photocatalytic system with broad-spectrum response to sunlight and rapid electron transfer is critical for efficient destruction of diverse contaminants in various environmental situations. Herein, self-assembled supramolecular strategy was employed to anchor Ag nanoparticles on the nanoflower-like g-C3N5 surface to construct Schottky-type catalyst (ACN-1) for efficient degradation of organic contaminants. The localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) effect significantly improves photocatalytic activity of materials by boosting rapid transfer of interlayer energy and photogenerated electrons and extending the absorption edge of catalysts into near-infrared light region. In actual water samples, ACN-1 entirely eliminated tetracycline (k = 1.0787 min−1) within 40 min and maintained high degradation rate (more than 80 %) under various water quality parameters. Furthermore, ACN-1 demonstrated remarkable suitability to microcystin-LR (98.9 %, k = 0.08098 min−1), sulfamethoxazole (81.2 %, k = 0.02984 min−1), and methylene blue (91.4 %, k = 0.04072 min−1). Quenching experiments and ESR tests showed that main active species in system were 1O2, •O2−, and h+. Finally, five photodegradation pathways and 26 intermediates of TC were elucidated by combining ESR signals, LC-MS and Fukui index. After photodegradation treatment, the toxicity of solution was drastically reduced and the mineralization reached 62.48 %. This study provides new insights into the design and interaction mechanisms of novel g-C3N5-based catalysts and effectively contributes to remediation strategies for emerging pollutants in water.

Theoretical studies on the aqueous phase and graphene heterogeneous degradation of acrylamide and acrylonitrile by HO, ClO, and BrO radicals

The newly discovered ClO• and BrO• contribute to pollutant degradation in advanced oxidation processes, while acrylamide (AM) and acrylonitrile (ACN) are always the focus of scientists concerned due to their continuous production and highly toxic effects. Moreover, various particles with a graphene-like structure are the companions of AM/ACN in dry/wet sedimentation or aqueous phase existence, which play an important role in heterogeneous oxidation. Thus, this work focuses on the reaction mechanism and environmental effect of AM/ACN with ClO•/BrO•/HO• in the water environment under the influence of graphene (GP). The results show that although the reactivity sequence of AM and ACN takes the order of with HO• > with BrO• > with ClO•, the easiest channel always occurs at the same C-position of the two reactants. The reaction rate constants (k) of AM with three radicals are 2 times larger than that with ACN, and amide groups have a better ability to activate CC bonds than cyanide groups. The existence of GP can accelerate the target reaction, and the k increased by 9–13 orders of magnitude. The toxicity assessment results show that the toxic effect of most products is lower than that of parent compounds, but the environmental risk of products from ClO•/BrO•-adducts is higher than those from HO•-adducts. The oxidative degradation process based on ClO• and BrO• deserves special attention, and the catalytic effect of GP and its derivatives on the oxidation process is non-negligible.

An Epigenetic Manifestation of Alzheimer's Disease: DNA Methylation.

Alzheimer's disease (AD), the most common form of dementia, has a complex pathogenesis. The number of AD patients has increased in recent years due to population aging, while a trend toward a younger age of onset has arisen, imposing a substantial burden on society and families, and garnering extensive attention. DNA methylation has recently been revealed to play an important role in AD onset and progression. DNA methylation is a critical mechanism regulating gene expression, and alterations in this mechanism dysregulate gene expression and disrupt important pathways, including oxidative stress responses, inflammatory reactions, and protein degradation processes, eventually resulting in disease. Studies have revealed widespread changes in AD patients' DNA methylation in the peripheral blood and brain tissues, affecting multiple signaling pathways and severely impacting neuronal cell and synaptic functions. This review summarizes the role of DNA methylation in the pathogenesis of AD, aiming to provide a theoretical basis for its early prevention and treatment.

Fluorescence visualization of CO2-responsive phase transfer materials targeting at the heterogeneous interfacial reactions in advanced oxidation of naphthenic acid in wastewater

Treatment of naphthenic acids (NAs) in wastewater is necessary due to its high toxicity and difficult degradation. In the heterogeneous Fenton-like advanced oxidation of organic pollutant system, the insufficient accessibility of oxidizing agent and NAs greatly hamper the reaction efficiency. CO2-responsive phase transfer materials derived from polyethylene glycol (PEG)-based deep eutectic solvents were specific targeted at the immiscible-binary phase system. The NAs oxidative degradation process was optimized including the kinds of catalyst (Molecular weight of PEG, constitute of DESs, and dosage.), temperature, flow rate of CO2, et al. With the help of fluorescence properties of catalyst, the hydrophilic-hydrophobic interaction was visual-monitored and further studied. The amphipathic property of PEG-200/Sodium persulfate/Polyether amine 230 (PEA230) greatly reduced the aqueous/organic phase transfer barrier between sodium persulfate and NAs (up to 84 %), thus accreting oxidation rate. The surface tension decreased from 35.364 mN/m to 28.595 mN/m. To control the reaction rate, the CO2 respond structure of amido played an important role. In addition, the interfacial transfer intermediates and oxidation pathways were also explored by nuclear magnetic resonance, flourier transform infrared spectroscopy, surface tension, and radical inhibition experiments. The mechanism of advanced oxidation of NAs catalyzed by CO2-responsive phase transfer catalyst was proposed, which would made up for the deficiency of the system theory of heterogeneous chemical oxidation of organic pollutants.

Retinal Pigment Epithelium Pigment Granules: Norms, Age Relations and Pathology.

The retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), which ensures the normal functioning of the neural retina, is a pigmented single-cell layer that separates the retina from the Bruch's membrane and the choroid. There are three main types of pigment granules in the RPE cells of the human eye: lipofuscin granules (LG) containing the fluorescent "age pigment" lipofuscin, melanoprotein granules (melanosomes, melanolysosomes) containing the screening pigment melanin and complex melanolipofuscin granules (MLG) containing both types of pigments simultaneously-melanin and lipofuscin. This review examines the functional role of pigment granules in the aging process and in the development of oxidative stress and associated pathologies in RPE cells. The focus is on the process of light-induced oxidative degradation of pigment granules caused by reactive oxygen species. The reasons leading to increased oxidative stress in RPE cells as a result of the oxidative degradation of pigment granules are considered. A mechanism is proposed to explain the phenomenon of age-related decline in melanin content in RPE cells. The essence of the mechanism is that when the lipofuscin part of the melanolipofuscin granule is exposed to light, reactive oxygen species are formed, which destroy the melanin part. As more melanolipofuscin granules are formed with age and the development of degenerative diseases, the melanin in pigmented epithelial cells ultimately disappears.

Temperature-responsive comprehensive two-dimensional liquid chromatography coupled to high resolution mass spectrometry for the elucidation of the oxidative degradation processes of chemicals of environmental concern

This study explores the possibilities offered by temperature-responsive liquid chromatography (TRLC) based comprehensive 2-dimensional liquid chromatography in combination with reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC) for the analysis of degradation products formed upon oxidative treatment of persistent organic pollutants, in this case exemplified through carbamazepine (CBZ). The TRLC×RPLC combination offers the possibility to overcome peak overlap and incomplete separation encountered in 1D approaches, while the transfer of the purely aqueous mobile phase leads to refocusing of all analytes on the second dimension column. Consequently, this allows for about method-development free and hence, easier LC×LC. The study focuses on the oxidative degradation of CBZ, a compound of environmental concern due to its persistence in water bodies. The TRLC×RPLC combination effectively separates and identifies CBZ and its degradation products, while offering improved selectivity over the individual TRLC or RPLC separations. This allows gathering more understanding of the degradation cascade and allows real-time monitoring of the appearance and disappearance of various degradation products. The compatibility with high-resolution mass spectrometry is last shown, enabling identification of 21 CBZ-related products, nine of which were not previously reported in CBZ degradation studies. The approach's simplicity, optimization-free aspects, and ease of use make it a promising tool for the analysis of degradation pathways in environmental contaminants.

Carbon Quantum Dots for Long-Term Protection against UV Degradation and Acidification in Paper-Based Relics.

Paper-based cultural relics constitute a significant and invaluable part of human civilization and cultural heritage. However, they are highly vulnerable to environmental factors such as ultraviolet (UV) photodegradation and acidification degradation, posing substantial threats to their long-term preservation. Carbon quantum dots (CQDs), known for their outstanding optical properties, high water solubility, and good safety, offer a promising solution for slowing down UV damage and acidification of paper-based relics during storage and transportation. Herein, we propose a feasible strategy for the simple preparation of CQDs with high dispersion stability, excellent UV absorption, room-temperature phosphorescence, and photostability for the safety protection of paper. Accelerated aging experiments were conducted using UV and dry-heat aging methods on both CQD-protected paper and unprotected paper, respectively, to evaluate the effectiveness of CQD protection. The results demonstrate a slowdown in both the oxidation and acid degradation processes of the protected paper under both UV-aging and dry-heat aging conditions. Notably, CQDs with complex luminescence patterns of both fluorescence and room-temperature phosphorescence also endue them as enhanced optical anticounterfeiting materials for multifunctional paper protection. This research provides a new direction for the protection of paper-based relics with emerging carbon nanomaterials.

Removal of Cochineal Dye Color through Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Discharge Jet

The extensive utilization of dyes across diverse industries has resulted in environmental pollution, leading to the degradation of water bodies. To prevent environmental contamination, the use of eco-friendly dyes and innovative processes for dye degradation is crucial. This study aimed to investigate the color removal process of cochineal dye (Dactylopius coccus Costa) using the atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ: Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Jet) technique. The dye extracted from the cochineal insect was treated with APPJ and the resulting color removal process was analyzed. Optical emission spectroscopy (OES) was used to investigate the plasma emission lines, and UV-Vis spectroscopy was used to monitor the color removal process. The results revealed that the decolorization of cochineal dye was a result of an oxidative degradation process caused by the interaction of the reactive species (NO3− and NO2−) generated by the APPJ plasma discharge with the dye molecules. This color removal process occurs in an acidic medium, leading to a pH change from 5.4 to 2.7. These pH changes can be attributed to fluctuations in the concentrations of reactive species such as nitrates and nitrites in the liquid phase. UV-Vis spectroscopy measurements showed that 90% of the cochineal color was removed within the first 10 min of treatment. This study enhances our understanding of natural color removal and provides insights into its mechanism, opening up possibilities for controlled modification and applications in various fields.

A Review on The Impurity Profile of Pharmaceuticals

A collection of analytical procedures known collectively as “impurity profiling” are intended to detect, identify, clarify the structure of, and quantify both organic and inorganic impurities as well as residual solvents in pharmaceutical formulations and bulk pharmaceuticals. This is the main task of contemporary drug analysis since it is the most effective approach to describe the stability and quality of pharmaceutical formulations and bulk pharmaceuticals. To keep an eye on them, specific analytical techniques must be created. When modifications are made to the synthesis, formulation, or production processes, even if they are done to improve them, new purities could be seen. The identification of impurities in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and the need for purity are being emphasised by a number of regulatory bodies, including the Canadian Drug and Health Agency (CDHA), the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH). Pharmaceutical products can contain impurities from a variety of sources, including reagents, heavy metals, ligands, catalysts and other materials like charcoal, filter aids, and the like. Degraded end products from hydrolysis, photolytic cleavage, oxidative degradation, decarboxylation, and other processes can also contain impurities, as can enantiomeric impurities. The various pharmacopoeias, including the Indian, American, and British pharmacopoeias, are gradually adding restrictions to the permissible concentrations of contaminants found in APIs or formulations. Capillary electrophoresis, electron paramagnetic resonance, gas-liquid chromatography, gravimetric analysis, high performance liquid chromatography, solidphase extraction techniques, liquid-liquid extraction techniques, mass spectrometry, ultraviolet spectrometry, infrared spectroscopy, supercritical fluid extraction column chromatography, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, and RAMAN spectroscopy are some of the techniques used to isolate and characterize impurities in pharmaceuticals. Liquid Chromatography (LC)-Mass Spectroscopy (MS), GC-MS, LC-NMR, LC- NMR-MS, and LC-MS are the most frequently used hyphenated techniques for drug impurity profiling. This demonstrates the importance and range of drug impurity profiling in pharmaceutical research.

Impacts of cyanide in gold mining and cyanide removal methodologies in liquid waste from gold processing

Cyanide is used in several industries but is widely used for gold extraction due to its ability to complex and stabilize gold ions. The waste generated from this process is of great volume because of low ore grades that requires more processing areas. Also, it is highly toxic due to cyanide being a contaminant of animal life and the environment. The mining sector can recycle the effluents generated in their processes, however, this can affect the gold extraction and treatment methods. There are legal laws that define cyanide levels in effluents for disposal in water bodies. Methodologies for reaching these levels include oxidation degradation processes, physical-chemical, biological processes, adsorption, photocatalysis, among others. In this present review, the use of cyanide in gold mining and some of these methodologies for removing cyanide in effluents generated by gold processing are evaluated.

All-in-one stability indicating polysorbate 20 degradation root-cause analytics via UPLC-QDa

Polysorbates (PS) are the most frequently used surfactants to stabilize biologicals. Ironically, these excellent stabilizing non-ionic surfactants have inherent structural properties, which lead to instabilities of their own. Such PS degradation can be triggered by multiple root-causes, like chemical and enzymatic hydrolysis or oxidative degradation. This can on the one hand reduce the concentration of surface-active PS and on the other hand lead to the formation of unfavorable degradants, like poorly soluble free fatty acids (FFA), which may phase separate and form visible FFA particles. Due to the potential criticality of PS degradation in biopharmaceutical formulations, various analytics have been established in recent years not only to monitor the PS content but also to evaluate specific PS markers and crucial degradants. However, in most cases sample preparations and several analytical assays have to be conducted to obtain a comprehensive picture of potential PS degradation root-causes.Here we show a novel approach for PS degradation UPLC-QDa based root-cause analytics, which utilizes previously established analytics for (i) most relevant polysorbate 20 (PS20) esters, (ii) PS20 free fatty acids and (iii) a newly developed method for the evaluation of PS20 specific oxidation markers. Thereby, this triad of analytical methods uses the same sample preparation and detector, which reduces the overall necessary effort, time investment and sample volume. Furthermore, the innovative PS20 oxidation marker method allows to quantify specific concentrations of the determined markers by external calibration and possible perception of oxidative degradation processes prior to relevant losses of PS20 esters, which could serve as an early indication during formulation development. The applicability of this method set was verified using several PS20 containing stress samples, which cover the most relevant root-causes, including acidic and alkaline hydrolysis, enzyme mediated hydrolysis, oxidative AAPH stress and Fe2+/H2O2 mediated degradation as well as autoxidation via long-term storage at elevated temperatures.Overall, this analytical setup has shown to deliver in-depth data about PS20 degradation, which can be used to narrow down the causative stress without the necessity of fundamentally different methods. Therefore, it can be seen as all-in-one solution during sometimes troublesome development of biopharmaceutical formulations, that supports the elucidation of the PS degradation mechanism(s) and thus establish mitigation strategies.
