Abstract This article discusses design and analysis of two-port alumina ceramic based aerial in mm-wave spectrum. Aperture coupling stimulate ceramic and produce dual fundamental orthogonal field i.e. HEM11δx and HEM11δy mode. Important features of structured aerial are: (i) designed antenna produces the circular wave within 32.65-33.25 GHz; (ii) double negative unit cell based metasurface suspension enhances the antenna’s broadsided gain to 9.0 dBi; and (iii) orthogonal arrangement of aerial ports improve the separation to over 25 dB. Experimental outcomes confirm the working spectrum of design aerial in between 32.21-33.55 GHz. Directional pattern and decent assessment of diversity parameters prepares the planned aerial appropriate for 5G communication in mm-wave regime.
