(2000) addressed very important but unanswered questions about the origin of soil dolomite. In the article, Capo et al. examined the dolomites and claimed that the dolomites were of pedogenic origin. Here we claim that the dolomites are of diagenetic origin. The reasons are given in the following four points based on (1) crystallinity, (2) Sr isotopic value, (3) Mn/Sr and Fe/Sr ratios, and (4) the Ca/Sr ratio.
