Examining Varying Effects of Companies’ Strategic CSR Communication on Employees’ CSR Participation

ABSTRACT This study examines the effects of strategic CSR communication on employees’ CSR participation. Drawing on the sensemaking and sensegiving theoretical frameworks, alongside informative, dialogic, and meaning-making strategies in CSR communication. A survey (N = 406) revealed that all three strategies were positively associated with employees’ CSR participation. Further SEM analysis with CSR awareness as a moderator showed that higher awareness of CSR strengthens the impact of informative communication, while lower awareness enhances the impact of meaning-making CSR communication. Dialogic CSR communication’s effect on employees’ CSR participation was not significantly influenced by varying CSR awareness. Theoretically, this study advances the internal CSR communication literature by contrasting different organizational CSR communication strategies. It also suggests that organizations should incorporate diverse CSR communication strategies in organizational training to enhance employees’ involvement in CSR activities.

STT Candra Metu Organization Communication In Building Menyama Braya Ties at Banjar Budamanis Sidemen Karangasem

STT Candra Metu is a youth organization in Budamanis Banjar, Tabola Traditional Village, Sidemen Village, Sidemen District, Karangasem Regency which is engaged in social activities, one of which is building bonds of mutual help between people, namely manyama braya. An organizational communication strategy is urgently needed in building manyama braya ties in Banjar Budamanis so that an active organization is created. This study raises three main issues, namely : What are the forms of manyama braya activities, Organizational Communication Strategies used and what are the implications of STT Candra Metu's Activities in building the manyama braya bond in Banjar Budamanis, Tabola Traditional Village, Sidemen Karangasem? This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach and uses three theories, namely fusion theory, attribution and structural functional theory. Data collection methods used include observation, interviews, documentation and literature. All data is processed using qualitative descriptive techniques. The results of this study indicate that the activities carried out by STT Candra Metu in building the manyama braya bond consist of activities in supporting the implementation of the yadnya ceremony, as a forum for strengthening intimate relationships and channeling creativity, interests and talents. While the communication strategy includes: Vertical communication consisting of bottom-up, top-down and horizontal communication. And the implications of STT Candra Metu in building manyama braya bonds include: Sociol cultural and economic implications for society. Based on this research, it can be concluded that an organizational communication strategy is needed to establish and move the wheels of the organization in building manyama braya ties between fellow STT Candra Metu.

Public Relations Strategies for Non-Profit Organizations

Purpose: This study aimed to examine how different public relations strategies affect the effectiveness of non-profit organizations' communication and relationships with their stakeholders.
 Methodology: The study adopted a desktop research methodology. Desk research refers to secondary data or that which can be collected without fieldwork. Desk research is basically involved in collecting data from existing resources hence it is often considered a low cost technique as compared to field research, as the main cost is involved in executive’s time, telephone charges and directories. Thus, the study relied on already published studies, reports and statistics. This secondary data was easily accessed through the online journals and library.
 Findings: The findings reveal that there exists a contextual and methodological gap relating to public relations strategies for non- profit organizations. The yielded valuable insights into the multifaceted landscape of non-profit PR. Through diverse empirical studies, it was found that effective PR strategies played a pivotal role in shaping organizational visibility, credibility, and impact. Key conclusions drawn from the research included the transformative potential of digital platforms in amplifying reach and mobilizing support, the importance of stakeholder engagement and strategic storytelling in fostering donor loyalty and conveying organizational impact, the critical role of transparency and proactive communication in navigating crises, and the significance of strategic partnerships in enhancing organizational capacity and impact. Overall, the findings underscored the importance of adopting a holistic and strategic approach to non-profit PR to achieve mission-driven objectives and effect positive change.
 Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The Systems theory, Stakeholder theory and Diffusion of Innovation theory may be used to anchor future studies on public relations strategies for non- profit organizations. The study provided several key recommendations to enhance PR practices in the non-profit sector. It recommended that NPOs invest in advanced social media analytics tools, cultivate authentic donor relationships, develop robust crisis communication plans, seek out strategic corporate partnerships, engage in rigorous advocacy planning, invest in storytelling resources and training, and leverage digital advocacy tools. These recommendations aimed to improve PR effectiveness by emphasizing evidence-based decision-making, donor-centric approaches, proactive crisis management, strategic collaboration, and leveraging digital platforms for advocacy and storytelling. Through these recommendations, the study contributed to both theory and practice in the non-profit sector, offering actionable insights to enhance organizational communication strategies.

Organizational Communication Strategy of Forest Management in Mundeh Kauh Village, Selemadeg District, Tabanan

In general, communication occurs in a particular situation. The process of communication, of course, requires a communication strategy. A communication strategy is essential in the organization, as it aims to plan work programs to be carried out correctly to achieve the expected goals. Good communication can increase motivation, and the information conveyed can be well received, improving performance. Social Forestry Organization As an organization that regulates forest management under the auspices of the Environment and Forestry Service, it is obligated always to be prime in performance and community service. Therefore, the Social Forestry Organization is aware that it is necessary to take concrete steps to improve the quality of communication between group members and leaders. This study aims to determine the organization's communication strategy and how it is carried out to achieve the goal. The research results obtained by drawing this conclusion are organizational communication strategies that are very well established between members of the organization and leaders.

The Influence of Career Development, Positive Psychology, Organizational Communication, and Strategic Digital Leadership on the Improvement of Performance in the Aviation School Organization of the Ministry of Transportation, Mediated by Employee Motivation

This research investigates the factors influencing organizational performance within the Flight School of the Ministry of Transportation, focusing on the unique structure of the Public Service Agency (BLU) and its technical implementation units. It explores challenges faced by aviation service schools in meeting BLU revenue targets and highlights the significance of human resource management. Drawing on insights from scholars, the study examines the impact of career development, positive psychology, organizational communication, and digital leadership strategies on organizational performance, mediated by employee motivation. Using a quantitative approach involving a survey of 175 officials and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), the research finds positive influences of these factors on organizational performance, with employee motivation playing a mediating role. However, limitations such as reliance on self-reported data and the sample size constrain the generalizability of findings. Future research could employ qualitative methods and longitudinal studies to deepen understanding and investigate long-term effects.

An organization is an association of various people who have the same goals and missions and are structured. However, the existence of different motivations between people in the organization is one of the problems for the effectiveness of communication within the organization. Hizbul Wathon Football Club, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta, in the process of sustaining the organization, intergroup communication tactics are needed to achieve organizational goals. Therefore, it makes researchers interested in conducting research with the title "Organizational Communication Strategy in Internal LSO HWFC in Maintaining the Motivation of Cadres". The theory used is communication behaviorism by John Broadus Watson, which is all actions or behaviors that include response or reply to a given thing. The results revealed that the Hizbul Wathon Football Club FISIP UMJ has the same strategy as the theory used because the internal Hizbul Wathon Football Club provides what cadres want such as a comfortable ball training environment that causes cadres to feel comfortable and bound by the organization. This research also states that comfortable communication will make cadres motivated to remain in their organizational environment.

Assessment of Dental Student Satisfaction after Internships in Collaborative Dental Practices in Saxony-A Retrospective Questionnaire Analysis.

The goal for dental students of a university-based program should be to learn about practice procedures in a dental office as part of their studies in order to gain insight into day-to-day activities, such as organizational management, patient communication, and problem-solving strategies. All dental students from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Dresden in Germany, who completed a one-week internship in an external dental office in the last year before taking the final exam, were invited to participate in the survey (total n = 182 in years 2017-2019 and 2022). After completing the internship, the students were asked to anonymously rate the distinctive competencies they had acquired during their dental studies in terms of clinical and social communication skills. The results of the survey showed a good practicability of the acquired dental knowledge and a general satisfaction of students during their internships. No significant influence of the COVID-19 outbreak and the resulting special regulations in dental practices during the pandemic on student satisfaction was found. Students were more satisfied with their completed internships in smaller cities. Therefore, a stronger inclusion of practices outside the big cities should be considered in the current implementation of the new Dental Licensure Act in Germany.

Exploring the Research on Media Communication Strategies of Public Welfare and Charity Organizations in the Context of Social Governance Innovation

Abstract In the context of social governance innovation, the integration and sharing of information are studied through the construction of an information-sharing platform. The process of interpreting the evolution of new media information dissemination includes analyzing the characteristics and laws of information dissemination on various platforms. Based on the existing scale of public welfare charities, the kinetic evolution equation of the public welfare information dissemination model is established to describe the dissemination process of public welfare information and its influencing factors. The impact of media intervention on the final scale of public welfare information dissemination is analyzed using the collected Facebook dataset as the background, and it is found that the higher the media credibility is at t = 4, the public welfare information attracts media attention. After the release of public interest information, the immunity node began to show a gradual upward trend, reaching a maximum of 1.0. Indicating that after the media release of public interest information, the final scale of dissemination of public interest information increases.

Pandemic Problems in the Ivory Tower: Exploring Employee Engagement During the COVID-19 Crisis

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to investigate how communication constituted the engagement experiences of employees at research-intensive universities during the COVID-19 crisis. Twenty-one semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with vice presidents of research, research center and institute directors and support staff, and research faculty at research-intensive universities in the U.S. The findings revealed paradoxical engagement experiences. Participants reported blurred boundaries through increased technological access to information and communication that also created no way to shut off work. Overcommunication was reported as both a common informal communication experience and a formal organizational communication strategy during the crisis. Universities seemed to be partially prepared for the crisis, and the results demonstrated that individual personal coping strategies can serve one’s negative engagement experience constituted by communication. Implications for internal crisis communication strategy and employee engagement theory are discussed.

Organizational Communication Strategy of Menantea Purwokerto in Handling Customer Complaints Through Digital Media

Menantea Purwokerto uses Instagram to promote its products and engage with its followers. Although Menantea Purwokerto has been successful in utilizing digital media to increase its sales potential, it has been noted that since the opening of Menantea Purwokerto on 5 February 2022, there have been customer complaints that can have a negative impact on Menantea Purwokerto. This study aims to analyze and describe how Menantea Purwokerto's organizational communication strategy handles customer complaints via digital media, what obstacles are encountered when implementing organizational communication, and how solutions are devised to overcome the obstacles encountered. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected via observation, interviews, documentation studies, and literature reviews. The research shows two types of complaints made by customers via digital media: Gofood, Grabfood, Shopeefood, and Menantea Customer Service at 0812-8415xxxx. Menantea Purwokerto encountered internal obstacles such as the distance between the owner and employees, obstacles to individual employee behavior, and external obstacles such as difficulties in handling incoming complaints via Gofood, Grabfood, and Shopeefood when implementing organizational communication. The Menantea Purwokerto conducts an organizational communication audit to address complaints and obstacles in the implementation of organizational communication. For handling complaints and obstacles between Menantea and customers, the Menantea Purwokerto employs a top-down internal communication strategy as well as an external communication strategy.

The case of a victim of robbery who became a suspect in Medan City had caused This study aims to determine the organizational communication strategy of HMI in recruiting new member cadres at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication in maintaining the existence of its organization at UIN Sumatra Utara. To find out the obstacles to the HMI organizational communication strategy in recruiting new member cadres at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication in maintaining the existence of its organization at UIN Sumatra Utara. This type of research uses a qualitative approach to research, in an effort to provide answers to the problems that have been described, because it uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The collected data were analyzed using the Miles & Hubberman interactive model including: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study show basic findings such as the cadres of the Islamic Student Association (HMI) of UIN North Sumatra are able to have a positive impact on students where the cadres of the Islamic Student Association (HMI) hold meetings to maintain friendship among each HMI member, and are able to liven up the to promote open discussion on campu.

Organizational communication strategies in response to major disruptions: the case of the worsening situation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to understand communication strategies formed by multinational subsidiaries in a transition economy during disruptive events. The authors develop and test a framework based on political realism and situational crisis communication theory (SCCT).Design/methodology/approachThe authors collect and analyze communication statements from multinational subsidiaries located in Russia and made in the first two months (March–April, 2022) of the Russia–Ukraine conflict.FindingsThis study’s main findings are twofold. First, this study extends SCCT by showing that multinational subsidiaries use communication strategies that go beyond the traditional categories of diminish, rebuild and bolster. In particular, this study identifies so-called “shut the door” and “burning bridges” methods as possible industrial and home country contingent communication strategies. Second, this study shows that possession of a political realism lens provides us with powerful communication strategies made requisite during disruptive events.Practical implicationsThe results provide practical hands-on advice for subsidiary managers on how to communicate effectively and efficiently during disruptive events such as the one described. This study offers novel communication strategies that help to understand the wider implications for managers in both home and host countries.Originality/valueTo the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is one of the first papers to apply SCCT and political realism to a current disruptive event for multinational enterprises, i.e. the ongoing Russia–Ukraine conflict. In that context, this study expands both perspectives by highlighting their complementarities and their conceptual boundaries. The authors can base those insights on two unique and purpose-built databases of multinational subsidiary characteristics in Russia-proper.

Therefore, PT. BAF realizes there must be concrete steps to increase motivation and morale between employees and leaders. This study aims to determine organizational communication strategies for increasing the motivation and morale of Motor Yahama employees. Bussan Auto Finance (BAF) has the vision to become a leading and trusted finance company for customers, business partners, employees and the public. To realize this vision, Bussan Auto Finance has a mission to provide the best financial solutions for the welfare of society. The research method used is qualitative research with observations, interviews, and documentation conducted on Toyota Perintis Sales Department employees. The research results obtained by drawing this conclusion are the company's organizational communication strategy in increasing motivation and achieving good credit sales targets so that companies can achieve optimal or desired profits.

Social welfare problems are a problem of the entire Indonesian nation that requires the attention of all parties, including the government, the business world and the community. The government tries to overcome social problems through various programs and activities, but the problem is never resolved. In this regard, zakat can act as a source of socio-economic resources for Muslims. This means that the utilization of zakat managed by the Amil Zakat Agency is not only limited to certain activities based on conventional directives, but can also be used for the economic activities of the ummah such as poverty and unemployment assistance programs, using zakat as working capital for activities produced by those in needThe research method in this title is descriptive analysis or qualitative, which is carried out in the field to explain the strategies used in the management of zakat to raise more funds. This research was conducted by applying the study to the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Bandar Lampung City by using primary data. The results showed that the communication strategy carried out by BAZNAS Institution in collecting people's funds is by implementing interpersonal communication, namely through friendship both formally and informally or by socializing to the public about the National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS). EU digital communication strategy during the COVID-19 vaccination campaign: Framing, contents and attributed roles at stake

If in recent years the European Union (EU) has had to face complex and multifactorial “poly-crises” (such as Brexit, refugees or the euro), the pandemic caused by COVID-19 has been an unprecedented event on a global scale with important implications at all levels. Indeed, it has reinforced public health issues aimed at protecting the population as nodal elements of the policies implemented by this organization. This research aims to analyze the different organizational communication strategies on Twitter implemented by the main EU institutions during the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, in order to examine the presence of this exceptional milestone. This study has been carried out using an eminently quantitative methodology, based on a content analysis to quantify the different variables and indicators established for the publications of the official profiles of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Council. The proposed categories focus on exploring their predominant thematic areas, as well as main purposes/attributed functions. In the light of the results obtained, it is concluded that the vaccination campaign is a milestone with a considerable volume of publications by all profiles. However, among the attributed functions, the distribution of aseptic information has been predominant, which is why it is discussed whether these institutions have sufficiently taken advantage of the possibilities offered by the digital environment of Twitter for the dissemination of the European message.

STRATEGI KOMUNIKASI LPM DINAMIKA DALAM MEREKRUT ANGGOTA DI UNIVERSITAS ISLAM NEGERI SUMATERA UTARA

This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach method to examine the phenomenon intensively, in detail and in depth with observation, interview and documentation techniques that aim to find out the organization's communication strategy in recruiting members with communication accommodation theory and various conceptual frameworks namely communication strategies, organizational communication strategies and recruitment strategies. The results of the study can be explained that the communication strategy of the LPM Dinamika organization in recruiting members is face to face communication (private face to face and public face to face) by conducting socialization, namely entering new student classes, opening stands around campus and distributing brochures and mediated (private mediated and public mediated) using media intermediaries, the LPM dynamics organization disseminates information through social media and the use of captions in posts, class whatapps groups, and opening question and answer sessions on social media and via chat. In addition, the obstacles that occur in recruiting members are elements related to the organization (changes in registration schedules, permits), habits of finding candidates (personal data, ability or understanding of candidates, ethics and attitudes) and environmental factors (distance 3 campus, time and cost).

Organizational Communication Strategy For Quick Public Response Service In Cilandak Sub-District, South Jakarta In Improving The Image

This study was conducted to analyze the organizational communication strategy for the Quick Public Response (CRM) service in Cilandak Sub-District in improving the image. A communication strategy is an organizational plan to manage the strategy of the newly developed ideas, combined with the recipient of the message through the media, and achieve the effect of good communication goals. The data analysis technique used was descriptive qualitative analysis through observation and interviews. The sources of data were primary and secondary data. The field research data collection method was in the form of observation, interviews, and literature study. The interview technique was carried out in a structured manner. The resource persons in this study were 6 people, i.e., the Head of Cilandak Sub-district, Head of the Government Section of the Cilandak Sub-District Office, Communication Lecturer at the Stiami Institute of Social Sciences and Management, Service Staff of the Cilandak Sub-District Office, and the people of Cilandak Sub-District. From the results of this analysis, the organizational communication strategy of the CRM service in Cilandak District in improving the image has implemented research indicators in accordance with the objectives of the CRM service.

Organizational communication strategies of Nahdlatul Ulama administrators in establishing Lazisnu of North Sumatera, Indonesia

Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) prominently proves that their principles have quite an influence in Indonesian Muslim people’s daily activities. Many linguists may have conducted few ethnographic research on communication strategies, but any research focusing on organizational communication strategies within the scope of NU administrators especially in relation to Lazisnu establishment in North Sumatera is hardly found. This particular research aims at describing the organizational communication strategies used by NU administrators in establishing Lazisnu (a non-profit organization belonged to NU to help taking care of people’s welfare) in North Sumatera. By employing field research, this study was conducted with descriptive qualitative approach combined with phenomenology design. The data were collected using observation, interview, and document analysis techniques. The data analysis procedure included data classification, data reduction, data description, and conclusion making. The findings pronounced that organizational communication strategies were used by NU administrators in establishing Lazisnu of North Sumatera in taking care of socialization, cooperation with companies, collaboration with local bank, and cooperation with mosque administrators. To this, the researcher suggests NU administrators in North Sumatera to mind and control the cooperation and collaboration with various parties to make a betterment in carrying out Lazisnu programs.

Principal’s Strategy in Implementing Organizational Communication at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah

The communication strategy is the main capital for the head of the madrasa in forming a conducive learning climate in the madrasa. This study aims to analyze the principal's strategy in implementing organizational communication at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Kesuma LKMD, Namorambe District. This study used a qualitative approach with an analytical descriptive method. Collecting data using the method of observation, interviews and document study. The results of this study conclude that the implementation of organizational communication strategies (vertical, horizontal, diagonal) in MI Kesuma LKMD Jatikesuma is in a good category, as seen in the following conditions: (1) Vertical communication in madrasas is not good enough, due to the lack of presence of the head schools in the process of teaching and learning activities; (2) Horizontal communication in the Jatikesuma madrasah is quite good. The high level of interaction among members of the same level and the still weak organizational cooperation indicates that the interaction is carried out more on non-formal communication. (3) Diagonal communication in madrasas is carried out well, because all members of the organization at different levels of position are given the freedom to communicate, both formal and non-formal.

MANAJEMEN HAMBATAN KOMUNIKASI ORGANISASI HIMPUNAN MAHASISWA ISLAM (HMI) DALAM MEMBANGUN KEPEMIMPINAN TRANSFORMATIF

The purpose of this research is to find out the management of organizational communication
 obstacles of the HMI Central Board for the period 2021-2023 in building transformative
 leadership, as well as to find out the organizational communication strategy in this process. The
 approach used is qualitative with descriptive method. In the early stages, from the time HMI
 Center put forward a discourse on transformative leadership to the rise of public demands
 regarding the issue of HMI's existence in various new media, the organizational communication
 strategy used was the pull model. This model is focused on developing leadership capacity at the
 central level that is pro-active and adaptive in absorbing external aspirations, objectifying
 demands and socializing moderate Islamic organizational communications. As for the
 phenomena of leadership disruption at various layers which are very dynamic, the push
 organizational communication strategy is used. This is intended to build leadership that has a
 target of innovation and creativity in fostering cadres in all branches. This push strategy is also
 an inspiration for HMI Center in expanding cadre development partners, both bureaucrats,
 scholars, mass organizations and academics, due to increasingly complex role demands due to
 carrying the label of Islam in the organization
