Principal Leadership Ethics as A Role Model in High School

Exemplary leadership is a crucial factor in a leader's success. As a leader, the school principal plays a significant role in setting an example for teachers. However, whether this aspiration has been fulfilled remains an area that requires further research. This study explores the ethical leadership of school principals who serve as role models. The research approach adopted for this scientific article is a literature review involving data collection, reading, and managing research materials from various sources. The study's findings highlight leaders' pivotal role in shaping ethical behaviour and fostering an ethical climate within organizations. The leader's strategic approach to promoting ethical conduct becomes integral to the overall organizational strategy. In this context, the ethical mindset of managers revolves around three core concepts: leading by example through concrete actions, utilizing rewards and discipline, and actively communicating about ethics and values.In conclusion, one of the critical responsibilities of a leader is to cultivate a positive ethical climate within the organization. The ethical climate represents the perception of organizational members, leaders, and subordinates concerning the organization's adherence to ethical principles and the prevailing internal environment. Further research in this area can shed more light on the impact of exemplary leadership on organizational ethics.

Environmental dynamics and corporate social responsibility: An empirical analysis based on Chinese manufacturing listed companies

Environmental dynamics is a significant situational factor affecting corporate strategic decisions. Taking China's listed manufacturing companies from 2010 to 2019 as a research sample, based on organizational ethics theory, this study explores the impact of environmental dynamics on corporate social responsibility (CSR). It analyses the impact of autonomy (CEO duality) and life experience (returnee CEO) of the CEO, the subject of CSR decision-making, on the above relationship. The study shows that firms in uncertain external environments will reduce CSR activities, i.e., the greater dynamic in the external environment, the worse the CSR performance, while CEO duality and returnee CEO will weaken the above relationship. Further study finds that amongst the four dimensions of CSR, environmental dynamics is negatively and significantly related to the remaining three dimensions, except for the technique (T) dimension. The weakening effect of CEO overseas study experience on the negative relationship between environmental dynamics and CSR is stronger. The negative impact between environmental dynamics and CSR is more significant in SOE groups. High-growth firms have a weakening effect on the negative relationship between environmental dynamics and CSR.

Habitual Leadership Ethics: Timelessness and Virtuous Leadership in the Jesuit Order

This paper is about the relationship between leadership, organisational morals, and temporality. We argue that engaging with questions of time and temporality may help us overcome the overly agentic view of organisational morals and leadership ethics that dominates extant literature. Our analysis of the role of time in organizational morals and leadership ethics starts from a virtue-based approach to leading large-scale moral endeavours. We ask: how can we account for organizational morality across generations and independently of the leader? To address this question, we studied the leadership model of the Jesuits, a Catholic Religious Order. Our case reveals that a virtue-based model of leadership does not necessarily imply that those who are selected to lead the organization are themselves virtuous, but that the processes underpinning the exercise of leadership are cyclical and repeated as truthfully as possible. Virtuous leadership, for the Jesuits, is therefore about the construction of an ideal type of leadership against which the processes which sustain it were designed. Our theoretical contribution is twofold. First, we propose an habitual understanding of moral forms of leadership, in which the procedural is constitutive of moral forms of organising; second, we explain how “timelessness”, understood as the quality of not changing as years go by, allowed the Jesuits to centre the processes which sustain their ethical model on the repetition, across space and time, of said processes, rather than on their outcome. We conclude that the search for virtue might be more relevant for large-scale moral endeavours than virtue itself.

Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination for healthcare workers: The experience of chaplains evaluating religious accommodation requests from coworkers

Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements for healthcare workers in the United States, instituted at the height of the pandemic to protect vulnerable patients and preserve the infrastructure of healthcare, nonetheless met with resistance by some members of the work force. As unprecedented numbers of employees sought religious accommodations, chaplain leaders were recruited by institutional leadership to adjudicate these requests, either alone or as part of a committee.This study reports results of a survey conducted from 6/1/2022 to 7/15/2022 with U.S. healthcare chaplains (n = 76) who were involved in the evaluation of coworker requests for religious exemption to the COVID-19 vaccine anytime during the pandemic until they accessed the survey. Chaplains were recruited online through national chaplaincy and ethics organizations. A mixed methods design facilitates integration of statistically significant associations with chaplains’ in-depth reflections on their experience. Surveying the religious experts on the review committee affords a rare look into how the tension between the free exercise of religion in the workplace and the obligation to protect the public played out during the pandemic. The study further addresses a gap in research literature on the experience of chaplains during the pandemic and identifies unique features of moral injury experienced by a subset of healthcare providers.Chaplains largely perceived their involvement as promoting an ethical, informed process of review. Although all chaplains found this role stressful, high levels of meaning were protective against distress. Sources of distress identified included: ethical concern that granting exemptions would lead to the spread of the virus; inconsistencies in the review process; and, repeated exposure to coworkers’ misunderstanding and political use of religious teachings. Featuring prominently in comments from chaplains was the difficulty navigating requests in the context of anti-science, anti-vaccine, and politically charged public discourse.

Institutions play a major role in the positive and negative impact on employees, as chronic work stress is an important contributor to the poor well-being of employees, as it suffers from nearly the majority of the workforce in the world, due to its impact on the reputation of the institution, its operations and its relationship with its customers, and that one of the reasons for the emergence of cases of stress The workplace is the ethical behavior of employees. So, the research aims to: building a measure of organizational ethics in DEK2nd from the point of view of its cadres. The researcher used the descriptive approach using both survey and correlation methods, the research community included (275) employees from the working staffs in DEK2nd, The sample of the exploratory study, the preparation sample, and the application sample were chosen randomly, with (5, 162, and 108) employees, respectively, in order to collect information, a measure of organizational ethics was built, and the researcher also built a measure of job pressures, And then they were applied after the scientific conditions were met them. The data were processed statistically, using the arithmetic mean, percentage, simple correlation coefficient, Alpha chronbach coefficient, and simple and gradual linear regression equations. The researcher concluded several direct ones:The researchers verified the effectiveness of the organizational ethics scale in DEK2nd from the point of view of its staff, after reaching its preparation according to scientific procedures. Contribution of Organizational Structure on Strategy Implementation in Kenya Government Tourism Agencies

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the contribution of organizational structure on strategy implementation in Kenya government tourism agencies.
 Methodology: The study used a positivist approach research philosophy. The research designs employed in this study were explanatory and descriptive research designs. The study population comprised of the tourism industry. The study included the ministry of tourism itself since it is the parent ministry that regulates and oversees the operations of the tourism agencies to give a total of 10 areas of study. A sample of 327 was achieved based on the following formula. This study used primary data. The study used questionnaires and interview guides to collect both qualitative and quantitative data. Quantitative data was analyzed through scientific methods while qualitative data was analyzed thematically. The descriptive statistics was first used to analyze the demographic factors of the respondents using frequencies and charts. Inferential statistics such as correlation and multiple linear regression analysis were used to test the relationship among the variables as per the study hypothesis.
 Findings: The structure of an organization was found to have significant effect on the realization of objectives and profits in an organization. The organizational functions and targets, the structure of employee learning and growth and systems of communications have an influence on how organizations achieve their objectives and their profits. Culture also has been found to play its critical role in implementation of strategies and consequently realizations of set objectives and profits in organizations. Organizational norms, ethics, employee training and organizational climate are very key in achieving success while implementing strategies.
 Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: To effectively implement strategies in the tourism industry, the organizational structures need to have lines of communication, simple layer of reporting, flexible structure and good systems which ensure quick decision making in organizations.

Dominant Leadership Themes in the Pauline Epistles

Paul’s writings in the Bible, although primarily intended to serve spiritual ends, were found to also contain practical leadership wisdom long before these concepts were developed and formalized in secular leadership literature. Seven leadership themes emerged out of this conceptual study, namely: concepts of authority, responsibility, and accountability; the need for personal integrity among leaders, the need to build ethical organizations, situational leadership, fostering unity in diversity, the teaching role of leaders, and ensuring organizational continuity and organizational growth. This paper will benefit leadership theory along the line of increasing confidence in the use of the Bible as a source of leadership knowledge. It will also support leadership practice by providing a model of how effective leadership can be practiced despite operating in a turbulent ancient environment devoid of the resources, systems, and technologies of today’s post-modern organizations. Although the contexts in Paul’s epistles were churches, the leadership lessons they contained can be applied to business organizations, government entities, educational institutions, and society in general.

Perception of future production engineers on organizational ethics and social responsibility

The concepts of ethics and morals play a fundamental role in everyday interactions, establishing guidelines on what is considered correct or incorrect, as well as guiding decision-making in the face of different situations. organizational. In this context, understanding the perception of students who will soon be in the market, being able to develop organizational policies based on ethical principles, as well as promoting social responsibility practices, becomes extremely important. This study aims to investigate the perception of Production Engineering students at the Petrópolis School of Engineering at the Federal Fluminense University about ethics, morals and social responsibility as a backdrop for organizational management. For this, the PRESOR scale, developed by Singhapakdi et al. (1996 and 2001), in order to measure the students' perception levels on the theme. At the end of this work, results were obtained that allowed a more in-depth analysis of the relationship between students and their ethical perceptions, contributing to a better understanding of the pre-established limits in this academic context and that can contribute to future professional development.

Among the sources of conflicts are factors such as organizational structure, role ambiguity, different value and belief systems, communication problems and resources. The most common types of conflicts in educational organizations include administrator-teacher, teacher-student, teacher-teacher and student-student conflicts. Types and effectiveness of conflict management techniques are also discussed in the article. These include techniques such as compromise, competition, cooperation, avoidance, and conformity. The article also highlights the factors that play a role in the conflict management process. These factors include personality traits, cooperation, communication, trust, and leadership. In conclusion, conflict management within educational organizations is an important factor to increase organizational efficiency. This article highlights the importance of research in this area by presenting a summary of important studies in the literature on conflict management in educational organizations. The existence of student organizations in tertiary institutions is important in the context of self-development of students themselves. This is confirmed by the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 12 of 2012 concerning Higher Education article 77 concerning Student Organizations. There is an imbalance in the ideal organizational paradigm with field facts, the benefits of participating in the BEM UPR organization, the bargaining value of BEM UPR at the external level, as well as perceptions of BEM UPR's social behavior and organizational ethics, became the basis for researchers interested in studying by taking the title of the final project with the theme of ethics, namely " Social Behavior of Student Executive Board (BEM) Management in the Perspective of Organizational Ethics at the University of Palangka Raya Level. This thesis research aims to analyze the relationship between social behavior patterns of BEM UPR in relation to values and culture in work programs as organizational ethics, as well as educational aspects that can be studied therein. The research design uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. The primary data are people who know in depth the social behavior of BEM Palangka Raya University. While the secondary data is the literature in accordance with the author's research title. Data was collected by observation techniques, interviews, and document collection. The results of the research that the authors obtained were the existence of an ethical culture in organizations. This culture is used for decision making both leaders and members of the organization. Perceptions of the BEM of Palangka Raya University as described in the research results tend to be more positive, because students make their circle of communication in the form of groups. Contextual factors play a role in providing encouragement or motivation for action. In the organizational culture at BEM, University of Palangka Raya, values and norms as important elements can be seen both in real and latent phenomena.

Abstract This article deals with the interconnection and conditionality of ethics and scientific research. It describes the different types and causes of unethical actions, which it classifies into groups, as well as the approaches to the management of unethical acts, focusing on the situation in the Slovenian scientific area. The article goes on to discuss the situation after the establishment of a National Military College in the military education system, and describes a unique way of managing ethics in a military organization and the suitability of applying the same in military education. After an analysis of the experience to date, the similarities and differences between the military and civilian education systems in the field of ethical risk management are explained.

The Influence of Organizational Climate, Work Ethic and Work Commitment to Teacher Performance of Junior High School Teachers in Kotabaru

This study aims to analyze the direct and indirect influence of organizational climate, work ethic, and work commitment on the work performance of junior high school teachers in Kotabaru Regency. This research is research with a quantitative approach. The study population was all junior high school teachers in Kotabaru Regency as many as 763 people with a sample of 262 people determined using Proportional Random Sampling. Data collected through questionnaires were then analyzed statistically, descriptively and inferentially. The results of this study show that the organizational climate, work commitment and work performance are in high classification, while the work ethic of teachers is very high There is a direct influence of organizational climate on work performance by 0.105, work ethic on work performance by 0.175, work commitment to work performance by 0.656, organizational climate on work commitment by 0.255, and work ethic on work commitment by 0.714. In addition, there is also an indirect influence of organizational climate on work performance through work commitment of 0.161 and work ethic on work performance through work commitment of 0.426

Ethical Performance in Local Governments: An Empirical Study of Organizational Leadership and Ethics Culture

How to promote ethical conduct in the public sector has been discussed extensively in the public administration literature, yet empirical studies that employ comprehensive datasets are rare. This study proposes a hybrid model to explain ethical performance in local governments. Results of our study point to the importance of leadership in creating ethical organizations. Analysis of comprehensive survey data collected from local governments supports our hypothesis that organizational leadership not only promotes ethical behavior directly but also indirectly through reinforcing ethics culture in local governments. This paper discusses the practical implications of our findings and advances some recommendations to enhance ethical conduct in the public sector.

TALIBAN AND ISIS: AN ANALYTICAL COMPARISON

A complex relationship between Taliban and ISIS is often assumed, but it has not been yet systematically investigated. In this paper we will attempt to compare the two groups in the areas of their social origins, how each appeared in the Islamic arena, organizational characteristics, the influence of other ideological movements or tribal mechanisms on their organizational system, political agenda, faith, theology, jurisprudence, ethics, and Mysticism by exploring the commonalities and differences that exist between the two groups. This paper also contributes towards the conceptualization of the immediate and long-term political and security implications of the Taliban’s return to power. In addition to that, the paper discusses the relations of these two groups with the ethnic fabric of their societies and their relationship with the rest of the ideological movements in the Islamic world. These two groups cannot be understood without delving into the deep roots of their theological foundation.

Organizational Commitment, School Environment, and Work Ethics on Job Satisfaction of Private School Teachers

The main objective of the study was to develop a structural model on teachers’ job satisfaction in the private schools of Region 10, particularly the Private Schools Athletic Association in Region 10 (PRISAA-X) and Bukidnon Association of Catholic Schools (BUACS) member schools. The study was conducted among the seven PRISAA-X-member schools and five BUACS member schools where 979 teacher-respondents coming from the 12 different private schools have represented to answer the questionnaires. The study revealed that teachers’ organizational commitment is high as measured through affective commitment, normative commitment, and continuance commitment in the private schools particularly in region 10. Moreover, teachers are satisfied on the school environment in terms of staff freedom, students support, professional interest, innovation and participatory decision making especially when it comes to their working environment where most of the private schools created a positive atmosphere for the teachers. Additionally, teachers’ work ethics were good in terms of order factors such as hard work, morality/ethics, centrality of work, wasted time, delay of gratification, self-reliance, and leisure; hence, the result demonstrates that the private school teachers have upright work ethics. Further, the descriptive analysis of the teachers’ level of job satisfaction as measured through advancement, responsibilities, colleagues, supervision, working conditions, and pay shows that teachers were satisfied working in the private schools. The measured variables of organizational commitment, school environment, and work ethics showed a significant relationship to the teachers’ job satisfaction. However, affective organizational commitment, school environment measured through student support, professional interest, and staff freedom, and work ethics through self-reliance, hard work, centrality of work, wasted time, and delay of gratification were the best predictors on teachers’ job satisfaction. The best fit model was anchored on organizational commitment and work ethics. A holistic job satisfaction paradigm was designed based on the generated structural model for private school teachers.

Corporate social responsibility and white-collar crime: exploring how companies can promote ethical behavior and prevent white-collar crime within their organization

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) and white-collar crime are two topics that have gained increasing attention in recent years. CSR refers to a company's obligation to conduct business in an ethical and socially responsible manner. White-collar crime involves illegal activities committed by individuals in positions of power and authority within organizations. The relationship between CSR and white-collar crime is complex. Companies that prioritize CSR may still be vulnerable to white-collar crime. This is because white-collar crime often involves individuals who abuse their positions of power for personal gain, regardless of a company's ethical standards. Companies may prioritize CSR for strategic reasons, such as improving their reputation and avoiding legal sanctions, rather than out of a genuine commitment to social responsibility. Despite these obstacles, there is a growing understanding of the significance of addressing white- collar crime as part of CSR. This involves initiatives to promote organizational openness and accountability, as well as increased scrutiny of individuals in positions of authority. Some argues that CSR can help prevent white-collar crime by fostering an organizational culture of ethical behavior and accountability. The relationship between CSR and white-collar crime is an important area of inquiry for both academics and practitioners. With a better understanding of how these two concepts intersect, we can work towards creating more socially responsible and ethical organizations.
