Air Transport Organization: Competitiveness, Globalization, and Innovation

Introduction. Effective organization of air transportation is the basis of strengthening the positions of airlines in the international air transport system in the conditions of deepening globalization processes of aviation activity.Problem Statement. It is a priority direction for the development of aviation activities within the framework of the concept of the state's transport policy, which ensures the safety of passengers and the transparency of territorial and industrial relations in the conditions of constant changes in the economic environment of the national economy.Purpose. Research of the current state of aviation activity, ensuring the effective organization of air transportation in the transport system and interrelated branches of the national economy.Materials and Мethods. A dialectical-materialist approach, induction and deduction, abstraction and concretization, formalization and analogy have been employed. Statistical documents of international organizations, private and state institutions, publications of research by domestic and foreign researchers have been used as reference material.Results. Five elements of the organization of air transportation at the global level are highlighted: the largest specific weight of passenger transportation in the structure of aviation activity; the aviation industry is promising, which is gradually expanding the boundaries of its niche in the world transport market; the COVID-19 pandemic has negatively affected the aviation industry, changing the centers of economic gravity; active activity of global aviation organizations and associations, which covers most countries of the world; development of a regulatory and legal framework of a global level and global standardization of aviation activities. The challenges of the aviation industry, which arise at the global level, have been characterized.Conclusions. The key prospects for the development of the global aviation industry based on innovative activities are: the latest types of aviation fuel aimed at environmental safety; targeting new layers of potential customers; growth of jobs in the aviation industry; compliance with the accuracy of the departure/arrival schedule; smart service and flight safety.

Pathogenic Mechanisms of Collagen TypeⅦA1 (COL7A1) and Transporter Protein Transport and Golgi Organization 1 (TANGO1) in Rheumatoid Arthritis: A New Therapeutic Target

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disorder causing chronic inflammation primarily due to collagen regulation and transport imbalances. Collagen VII A1(COL7A1), a major component of anchoring fibrils, regulates inflammation via interacting with its transporter protein Transport and Golgi organization 2 homologs (TANGO1). The study revealed a significant increase in COL7A1 levels in both the plasma and PBMCs of RA patients. Additionally, a positive correlation between COL7A1 and ACCPA (anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody) levels was observed among RA patients. TANGO1 mRNA expression was also found to be elevated in PBMCs. The knockdown of COL7A1 in RA synoviocytes using siRNA affected the expression of TANGO1 and inflammatory genes. Western blot analysis showed that COL7A1 si-RNA in TNF-α-induced SW982 cells reduced the expression of COL7A1, TANGO1, and NF-kBp65. The mRNA expression of inflammatory genes TNF-α, NF-kB p65, and IL-6 simultaneously decreased after the knockdown of COL7A1, as measured by qRT-PCR. An in silico analysis found 20 common interacting proteins of COL7A1 and TANGO1, with pathway enrichment analysis linking them to antigen presentation, class I and II MHC, and adaptive immunity pathways in RA. Among the common proteins, The DisGeNET database depicted that COL1A1, MIA3, SERPINH1, and GORASP1 are directly linked to RA. The molecular docking analysis of COL7A1 and TANGO1 revealed strong interaction with a −1013.4 energy-weighted score. Common RA-used drugs such as Adalimumab, Golimumab, and Infliximab were found to inhibit the interaction between COL7A1 and TANGO1, which can further impede the transport of COL7A1 from ER exit sites, indicating COL7A1 and TANGO1 as potential therapeutic targets to diminish RA progression.

Proteomic Analysis to Understand the Promotive Effect of Ethanol on Soybean Growth Under Salt Stress

Finding solutions to mitigate the impact of salinity on crops is important for global food security because soil salinity significantly reduces plant growth and grain yield. Ethanol may play an important role in mitigating the negative salt-induced effects on crops. Soybean root growth was significantly reduced under salt stress; however, it was restored and comparable to control values by ethanol application even under stress. To study the positive mechanism of ethanol on soybean growth, a proteomic approach was carried out. The categories with the greatest changes in protein numbers were protein metabolism, transport, and cell organization in biological processes, nucleus and cytosol in cellular components, and nucleic acid binding activity in molecular functions. Proteomic data were confirmed using immunoblot analysis. Reactive oxygen species enzymes increased under salt stress; among them, mitochondrial ascorbate peroxidase was further accumulated by ethanol application. Among the cell wall and membrane-associated proteins, xyloglucan xyloglucosyl transferase and H+-ATPase increased and decreased, respectively, under salt stress; however, they were restored to control levels by ethanol application. These results suggest that soybeans were adversely affected by salt stress and recovered with ethanol application via the regulation of cell wall and membrane functions through the detoxification of reactive oxygen species.

International legal mechanisms for ensuring the responsibility of the air carrier before the passenger

Liability to passengers and cargo owners for damage caused during international air transportation is primarily borne by the carrier. From the content of the Warsaw and Montreal Conventions, it follows that the carrier can be any natural or legal person who has concluded a contract of carriage with the passenger or the consignor of the cargo and carries out this carriage on a remuneration basis. Reasons are required for the carrier to be liable as a party performing the contract. The plaintiff, who demands compensation, must prove the fact of breach of obligation by his counterparty, the presence and amount of damage, as well as the cause-and- effect relationship between the offense and the damage. However, the defendant (carrier) has the right to prove the absence of his fault and refer to the limitation of his liability. The Warsaw (1929) and Montreal (2009) conventions contain relatively detailed and fairly clear instructions on the carrier’s liability, establishing the grounds for exemption from it and, in most cases, limiting its size by the so-called relaxations in the air carrier’s liability regime. Like the norms of the internal transport legislation of the states, the norms of the conventions are of an imperative nature, with equal protection of the interests of consumers of services provided by transport organizations, and even the complexity of transport operation technologies, the mass of operations and the risks associated with the use of vehicles. This article examines the question of the extent to which international conventions and rules determining the liability of air carrier passengers have been successfully harmonized at the international level and eliminated the conflict of law problem, as well as the degree of development and effectiveness of these international conventions and rules, norms for ensuring the liability of air carriers to air passengers. Summarizing, the author notes that the Montreal Convention improves the situation of passengers and cargo owners, eliminates complications with lengthy court processes, to the advantage of the Warsaw Convention, which is somewhat outdated and does not correspond to today’s realities. The new convention strengthens competition in the air transport market, increases the responsibility of airlines to passengers and removes restrictions on compensation for loss of baggage or damage to the life and health of passengers, significantly simplifying the mechanism of obtaining it.

An innovative operational model for companies operating bus fleets

The organization and operation of public transport have not escaped the impact of changes taking place worldwide which are driven and influenced by the rapid spread of disruptive technologies and efforts related to climate protection and sustainable development. The challenges posed by the proliferation of electric vehicles (EVs) – including electric buses (BEBs) – require new solutions and new ways of thinking, and a more holistic and innovative operating model for road transport companies using buses. In this model, the authors present a methodology for the delivery of contracted scheduled services that, as part of a systems approach, links a mixed fleet and its appropriate route plan within a data-driven circular operational model, allowing room for innovative energy solutions, the use of renewable energy sources and for satisfaction of increasingly demanding climate and sustainability requirements, all using a logistics science approach.

As artificial intelligence (AI) advances rapidly, organizations must develop meaningful long-term strategies to realize opportunities and mitigate risks, as academic research shows AI will significantly impact over 50% of jobs by 2030, requiring workforce planning, while industries like travel agencies have faced disruption from failing to adapt to digital technologies like AI. Therefore, organizational leaders need such integrated roadmaps and ongoing governance to leverage AI's productivity benefits while guiding responsible adoption and workforce evolution amid ongoing disruption through proactive strategic planning that will help direct, rather than undergo, technological transformation.

СУТЬ І СТРУКТУРА ЕКОНОМІЧНОЇ КУЛЬТУРИ МАЙБУТНІХ ТЕХНІКІВ З ТРАНСПОРТНИХ ТЕХНОЛОГІЙ ТА УПРАВЛІННЯ ПЕРЕВЕЗЕННЯМИ НА АВТОМОБІЛЬНОМУ ТРАНСПОРТІ

The relevance of the article is due to the need to define and substantiate the essence and structure of the economic culture of future technicians in transport technologies and transportation management in road transport, to reveal the content of each component of the structure of economic culture, as well as to determine the key factors that contribute to its formation in the process of professional training of future technicians in transport technologies technologies and management of road transport. The purpose of the article is to determine the essence and structure of the economic culture of future technicians in transport technologies and management of road transport. Methods: the study of scientific sources regarding the interpretation of the essence of the concept "economic culture of the culture of future technicians in transport technologies and management of transportation by road transport" - to formulate one's own views on defining the content of this phenomenon; structural-component analysis - to distinguish the components of the economic culture of future technicians in transport technologies and transportation management by road transport; generalization and systematization - and formulation of conclusions and prospects for further research. Results: the main approaches in scientific sources to the interpretation of the concept of "economic culture of future technicians in transport technologies and management of road transport" were determined; the main components of the structure of economic culture and the components of the formation of the economic culture of future technicians in transport technologies and management of road transport are characterized. Conclusions: the essence of the economic culture of future technicians in transport technologies and transportation management in road transport is an integrative formation of the personality of a specialist, reflecting a system of professionally important qualities, values, knowledge, abilities and skills in planning technologies for the organization of transportation, providing transport and warehouse services, using resource potential for development transport enterprises in market conditions; characterized by a high degree of discipline, responsibility, independence with an awareness of the priorities of economic culture in the performance of professional tasks. The component structure of the economic culture of technicians in transport technologies and transportation management in road transport includes motivational-value, innovative-cognitive, activity-technological, personal-reflexive.

Factors affecting public support for the development of urban consolidation center: The case of hanoi city, Vietnam

Urban consolidation centres (UCCs) have become an integral part of the city logistics system. This study aims to identify factors influencing public support for the implementation of UCC in Hanoi City, Vietnam. In essence, the authors assess whether UCC are perceived as essential elements contributing to the sustainable development of the city logistics system of Hanoi. To accomplish such objectives, the study employed a data sample from an extensive empirical survey, including142 representatives from freight transport companies and logistics services providers, traffic management authorities, and research institutions in transportation and logistics fields. The key findings indicate that anticipated positive effects on transport organization significantly enhance public support for the development of UCC in Hanoi. However, the study suggests that concerns regarding the impact of UCCs on urban road safety do not appear to significantly influence public support. Interestingly, the study also reveals that barriers to UCC implementation have minimal influence on public support for UCC development. In summary, this study represents an initial step towards establishing a decision support system for city logistics measures, with a specific focus on the UCC initiative in Vietnam.

Incident reporting and data monitoring of sexual violence and harassment on public transport

IntroductionSexual violence and harassment occur in different settings, including public transport, and cause significant harm to victim-survivors' mental and physical health. While sexual violence and harassment on public transport is a documented problem, the public transport sector uptake has been slow and the true prevalence of sexual violence and harassment on public transport is yet to be determined. We aimed to investigate existing public transport and key stakeholder data systems, and explore the views of service providers, to ultimately improve sexual violence and harassment incident reporting and data monitoring. MethodsUsing a mixed methods design, researchers worked with public transport providers and other interested stakeholders in one Australian state. Twelve organizations were involved in the project and six provided current data on public transport safety for analysis. An audit of public transport and stakeholder websites was also undertaken to assess sexual violence and harassment incident reporting pathways. In addition, seven managers from five public transport organizations were interviewed to capture views on gender sensitive data collection and monitoring, and the challenges and enabling factors facing the sector. ResultsThe results uncovered varied sexual violence and harassment reporting formats and subsequent limited reporting of sexual violence and harassment incidents on public transport. In addition, poor-quality data sets lacked gender sensitivity, comprehensiveness, comparability, reliability and accessibility. Three key themes from public transport providers, on sexual violence and harassment data collection included increasing incident reporting, barriers and enablers of collecting and analysing quality data and governance frameworks. A minimum data set collection tool has been developed and could be tested in future. ConclusionTo improve women's safety on public transport, enhanced gender-sensitive data collection and monitoring is required. Long term government investment in sexual violence and harassment primary prevention strategies on public transport are urgently needed.

Model for Assessing Engineering Competencies of Logistics Specialists in Transport Organisations

Abstract In today’s dynamic, technology-driven, and diverse world of knowledge society, transport organisations should purposefully analyse and assess their operations since they often have to face problems emerging from the lack of knowledge and competencies of logistics specialists. The engineering competencies of logistics specialists are highly appreciated in transport systems. However, the selection of assessment criteria and determination of its importance is a difficult task for managers in this sector. Thus, it is reasonable to apply the multi-criteria methodologies, such as SAW, AHP, MOORA, and VIKOR, whilst determining the importance of criteria describing the competencies of logistics specialists in a transport organisation. Applying the multi-criteria methods provides prerequisites for an objective, precise, and the least time-consuming way to evaluate the engineering competencies of logistics specialists. The analysis of the results enables the most suitable decisions to utilise the significant potential of logistics specialists. The article examines the problem areas for evaluating the competencies of logistics specialists. The current paper presents the evaluation of logistics specialists’ competencies based on the methodology used to determine the importance of criteria (SAW and AHP methods). Additionally, further recommendations are suggested to effectively manage certain corrections on competencies in transport organisations under investigation.

A time-space network-based model for transportation service optimization of China Railway Express

This paper describes the development and optimization plans for the China Railway Express (CR Express). As a new type of international land transport organization, CR Express has emerged with the continuous expansion of China toward European investment and trade, and in particular, has expanded with the continuous progress of the One Belt and One Road (OBOR) initiative. In addition to improving the service quality of CR Express, the operating costs must be reduced for developing “smart railways” that serve “smart cities”. We propose a dual-objective-based function mathematical optimization model; the satisfaction of the cargo owner is considered, and the timeliness, transportation capacity, and goods category constraints of CR Express transportation are designed. Moreover, we present the normalized equivalent method of the two-objective function of the model. Finally, a case study is conducted against the background of certain trains in the western corridor of CR Express to validate the effectiveness of the model and research methods proposed in this study.

Exploring the dynamic impact of the Northern Sea Route on China-Europe multimodal transportation competition in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative

As Arctic sea ice continues to melt, the Northern Sea Route (NSR) is anticipated to become the third major China-Europe transportation corridor, alongside the Suez Canal Route (SCR) and China Railway Express (CRE). This study investigates the integration of the NSR into the Belt and Road multimodal transportation network and analyzes its dynamic competition with traditional corridors across heterogeneous regions and markets in China. To achieve this, we developed a novel hybrid multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) framework to evaluate the NSR's potential as an alternative China-Europe trade route. This framework introduces a new criteria utility function (CUF) and integrates the Bayesian best-worst method (BBWM) and measurement of alternatives and ranking according to compromise solution (MARCOS) method. This approach evaluates and prioritizes routes based on cost, time, reliability, safety, sustainability, and convenience, thereby detailing the NSR's market advantages and business prospects. The findings suggest that simply increasing the frequency of transportation services is insufficient to attract Chinese customers to the NSR. Instead, the route's competitiveness is primarily determined by transportation costs. In future scenarios, the NSR will offer additional route options for China-Europe containerized intermodal transport, potentially serving as a complementary corridor to the SCR and CRE under certain conditions. Coastal and sub-coastal regions north of Fujian Province are potential markets for the NSR, while inland regions far from seaports are better suited for connections via the CRE. Notably, time-insensitive containerized cargoes, such as industrial accessories, mechanical equipment, and metal crafts, exhibit higher potential demand for the NSR. In contrast, time-sensitive commodities like fashion apparel, electronics, and medical devices are more likely to be transported by cross-border railroads due to their urgency. Stakeholders, including government agencies, shipping companies, and exporters, can utilize these insights to optimize China-Europe transport organization and effectively commercialize the NSR.

Implementation of the budgeting methodology and business planning based on risk assessment in a gas transportation organization

The authors have developed a methodology for budgeting and business planning, taking into account risk assessment, which allows to systematize the process of planning and making managerial decisions taking into account possible risks. The approach is based on an analysis of current and potential operational risks, as well as their integration into the budgeting and business planning process. The approbation of the methodology is carried out in a gas transportation organization.

ORGANIZATION OF INTERNATIONAL FREIGHT TRANSPORTATION IN EXTREME CONDITIONS OF TODAY: PROBLEMS AND TRENDS

Today, road transport in Ukraine remains among the leaders in terms of the share of cargo transportation both in domestic and international traffic. In the current conditions of globalization, increasing the efficiency of cargo delivery is one of the priority areas for reducing the costs of industrial organizations, trade and services. Stable and efficient operation of the transport complex is an important condition for the life support of the diversified economy and the implementation of the main directions of programs for the socio-economic development of Ukraine. The international transport market is characterized by strict requirements for the quality of transport services, which causes the high complexity of transportation process management. That is why enterprises in the transportation industry must constantly work on improving the international transportation of goods by road. The main aspect of these studies is freight transportation, methods and methods of organizing the integration of the Ukrainian economy into the world economy under modern conditions. The purpose of the study is to study theoretical, scientific and methodological approaches and practical aspects of solving the problems of organizing freight transportation in the context of deepening international cooperation between Ukraine and Poland. Achieving this goal involves solving a set of interrelated tasks:. In particular, to study the experience of Poland in the organization of freight transportation in the context of deepening international cooperation; to study the essence of the organization of freight transportation and to analyze the indicators of production and economic activity and international economic relations of the enterprise and to study the state and quality of the organization of freight transportation in the context of deepening international cooperation, in particular FOP "Alekseevets S.M."; to identify the problems of organizing freight transportation in the context of deepening international cooperation and to provide recommendations for the organization of freight transportation in the context of deepening international cooperation".

Purpose. Criminal legislation has the task of protecting the state system and social system, their individual structures and institutions. The peculiarity of the Criminal Code of 1903, regarding these tasks, is that it was adopted in an exceptional and special historical period of time. First of all, this circumstance is associated with the period of time that covered the development of criminal legislation during the 19th century, which was reflected in its system, structure and criminal law norms. Secondly, as noted in the preamble of the Criminal Code of 1903, it is adopted in the context of the ongoing state and social transformations, taking into account the requirements of new decisions. Significant changes related to the formation of criminal law provisions providing for liability for violation of the rules of management, use, maintenance and disposal of transport. It should also be noted that the Criminal Code of 1903 represented and was the basis for the development of criminal legislation of the new century, including criminal liability for transport crimes. Methodology: dialectics, abstraction, analysis, synthesis, deduction, — formal legal method, comparative law method. Conclusions. Firstly, the second half of the nineteenth century is characterized by the active construction of the transport system and its infrastructure; secondly, the need arose to form special governing bodies that were not previously provided for in the structure of government bodies of the Russian Empire; thirdly, the safety of traffic and operation of transport required full legal support for the management of the transport system; fourthly, the organization of transport traffic required the formation of institutions and employees for the training of specialized specialists; fifthly, the task of uninterrupted operation of the transport system and the movement of vehicles predetermined the need for systematic maintenance and repair of vehicles and transport infrastructure, sixthly, points/ stations for the formation of trains, loading/reloading of goods and boarding/transfer of passengers deserved to be formed and provided; seventhly, the need arose to form transport teams, determine for them the place and time of meals, rest and interchangeability, and then, as a necessary component of any activity, the function of monitoring the movement of vehicles, especially their technical equipment, was predetermined in order exclusion of accidents. Scientific and practical relevance. To specify the categories of the Criminal Code of 1903 under consideration in order to determine their meaning and place in the current national criminal legislation and in the science of criminal law. Use the results in the preparation of regulations providing for liability for encroachment on the safety of traffic and operation of vehicles, in a complex modern management system in the field of organization and operation of transport, especially in international and related areas, as well as in the educational process when training specialists in the field law enforcement.

Proteomic and Phosphoproteomic Analyses during Plant Regeneration Initiation in Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.).

Somatic embryogenesis (SE) is a biotechnological tool used to generate new individuals and is the preferred method for rapid plant regeneration. However, the molecular basis underlying somatic cell regeneration through SE is not yet fully understood, particularly regarding interactions between the proteome and post-translational modifications. Here, we performed association analysis of high-throughput proteomics and phosphoproteomics in three representative samples (non-embryogenic calli, NEC; primary embryogenic calli, PEC; globular embryos, GE) during the initiation of plant regeneration in cotton, a pioneer crop for genetic biotechnology applications. Our results showed that protein accumulation is positively regulated by phosphorylation during SE, as revealed by correlation analyses. Of the 1418 proteins that were differentially accumulated in the proteome and the 1106 phosphoproteins that were differentially regulated in the phosphoproteome, 115 proteins with 229 phosphorylation sites overlapped (co-differential). Furthermore, seven dynamic trajectory patterns of differentially accumulated proteins (DAPs) and the correlated differentially regulated phosphoproteins (DRPPs) pairs with enrichment features were observed. During the initiation of plant regeneration, functional enrichment analysis revealed that the overlapping proteins (DAPs-DRPPs) were considerably enriched in cellular nitrogen metabolism, spliceosome formation, and reproductive structure development. Moreover, 198 DRPPs (387 phosphorylation sites) were specifically regulated at the phosphorylation level and showed four patterns of stage-enriched phosphorylation susceptibility. Furthermore, enrichment annotation analysis revealed that these phosphoproteins were significantly enriched in endosomal transport and nucleus organization processes. During embryogenic differentiation, we identified five DAPs-DRPPs with significantly enriched characteristic patterns. These proteins may play essential roles in transcriptional regulation and signaling events that initiate plant regeneration through protein accumulation and/or phosphorylation modification. This study enriched the understanding of key proteins and their correlated phosphorylation patterns during plant regeneration, and also provided a reference for improving plant regeneration efficiency.

Anaplasma phagocytophilum effector EgeA facilitates infection by hijacking TANGO1 and SCFD1 from ER–Golgi exit sites to pathogen-occupied inclusions

The obligatory intracellular bacterium Anaplasma phagocytophilum causes human granulocytic anaplasmosis, an emerging zoonosis. Anaplasma has limited biosynthetic and metabolic capacities, yet it effectively replicates inside of inclusions/vacuoles of eukaryotic host cells. Here, we describe a unique Type IV secretion system (T4SS) effector, ER-Golgi exit site protein of Anaplasma (EgeA). In cells infected by Anaplasma, secreted native EgeA, EgeA-GFP, and the C-terminal half of EgeA (EgeA-C)-GFP localized to Anaplasma-containing inclusions. In uninfected cells, EgeA-C-GFP localized to cis-Golgi, whereas the N-terminal half of EgeA-GFP localized to the ER. Pull-down assays identified EgeA-GFP binding to a transmembrane protein in the ER, Transport and Golgi organization protein 1 (TANGO1). By yeast two-hybrid analysis, EgeA-C directly bound Sec1 family domain-containing protein 1 (SCFD1), a host protein of the cis-Golgi network that binds TANGO1 at ER-Golgi exit sites (ERES). Both TANGO1 and SCFD1 localized to the Anaplasma inclusion surface. Furthermore, knockdown of Anaplasma EgeA or either host TANGO1 or SCFD1 significantly reduced Anaplasma infection. TANGO1 and SCFD1 prevent ER congestion and stress by facilitating transport of bulky or unfolded proteins at ERES. A bulky cargo collagen and the ER-resident chaperon BiP were transported into Anaplasma inclusions, and several ER stress marker genes were not up-regulated in Anaplasma-infected cells. Furthermore, EgeA transfection reduced collagen overexpression-induced BiP upregulation. These results suggest that by binding to the two ERES proteins, EgeA redirects the cargo-adapted ERES to pathogen-occupied inclusions and reduces ERES congestion, which facilitates Anaplasma nutrient acquisition and reduces ER stress for Anaplasma survival and proliferation.

The functions of RNA N6-methyladenosine in the nucleus

N6-methyladenosine (m6A) is one of the most abundant modifications of both eukaryotic and prokaryotic mRNAs. Recent years witnessed an accumulation of a large volume of experimental data on the involvement of m6A methylation in the regulation of stability and translation of different mRNAs. Remarkably, up until recently, the majority of such m6A-related studies have been focused on cytoplasmic functions of this modification. In this review, we overview a number of novel studies revealing the role of m6A in several key biological processes occurring in cellular nucleus, such as transcription, organization of chromatin, splicing, nuclear-cytoplasmic transport, and R-loop metabolism. Based on this analysis, we propose a model where modifications present on nuclear RNAs represent an additional layer of regulation of gene expression, that, together with DNA methylation and histone modifications, determines chromatin structure and function in various biological contexts.
