Optimizing Ultrasonic-Assisted and Microwave-Assisted Extraction Processes to Recover Phenolics and Flavonoids from Passion Fruit Peels.

This study optimized the ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) and microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) processes to acquire phenolics and flavonoids from passion fruit peels using a mixture of ethanol, acetone, and water. An augmented simplex-centroid design was employed to find the suitable volume ratio among solvent ingredients to attain the highest extraction yield of phenolics and flavonoids. One-factor experiments were conducted to investigate the influence of UAE and MAE parameters on the recovery yield of phenolics and flavonoids before the two processes were optimized using Box-Behnken Design (BBD) models. The optimal UAE conditions for recovering phenolics and flavonoids from passion fruit peel powder (PFP) were 28 mL/g of liquid-to-solid ratio (LSR), 608 W of ultrasonic power, and 63 °C for 20 min to acquire total phenolic content (TPC) and total flavonoid content (TFC) at 39.38 mg of gallic acid equivalents per gram of dried basis (mg GAE/g db) and 25.79 mg of rutin equivalents per gram of dried basis (mg RE/g db), respectively. MAE conditions for attaining phenolics and flavonoids from PFP were 26 mL/g of LSR and 606 W of microwave power for 2 min to recover TPC and TFC at 17.74 mg GAE/g db and 8.11 mg RE/g db, respectively. The second-order kinetic model was employed to determine the UAE and MAE mechanism of TPC and TFC and the thermodynamic parameters of the extraction processes. The antioxidant activities of passion fruit peel extracts at optimal conditions were examined to compare the efficiency of UAE and MAE. This study establishes an effective approach for obtaining phenolics and flavonoids from passion fruit peels.

Extraction, Purification, and Structural Characterization of Polysaccharides from Sanghuangporus vaninii with Anti-Inflammatory Activity.

In order to obtain homogeneous Sanghuangporus vaninii polysaccharides with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, a response surface method (RSM) was used to compare the polysaccharide extraction rate of hot water extraction and ultrasonic-assisted extraction from Sanghuangporus vaninii. The optimal conditions for ultrasonic-assisted extraction were determined as follows: an extraction temperature of 60 °C, an extraction time of 60 min, a solid-liquid ratio of 40 g/mL, and an ultrasonic power of 70 W. An SVP (Sanghuangporus vaninii polysaccharides) extraction rate of 1.41% was achieved. Five homogeneous monosaccharides were obtained by gradient ethanol precipitation with diethylaminoethyl-cellulose (DEAE) and SephadexG-100 separation and purification. The five polysaccharides were characterized by high performance liquid chromatography, the ultraviolet spectrum, the Fourier transform infrared spectrum, TG (thermogravimetric analysis), the Zeta potential, and SEM (scanning electron microscopy). The five polysaccharides had certain levels of antioxidant activity in vitro. In addition, we the investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of polysaccharides derived from Sanghuangporus vaninii on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW 264.7 cells and Kupffer cells. Further, we found that SVP-60 significantly inhibited the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW 264.7 cells and promoted the level of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW 264.7 cells. Our study provides theoretical support for the potential application of Sanghuangporus vaninii in the field of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities in vitro.

Process Optimization of Phytoantioxidant and Photoprotective Compounds from Carob Pods (Ceratonia siliqua L.) Using Ultrasonic Assisted Extraction Method.

The current study first describes the extraction of phytoantioxidant polyphenols from Carob byproducts (pods) using maceration and heating-assisted extraction as traditional methods and ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) as an innovative method to determine the most efficient extraction process in terms of four targeted responses: total phenolic content (TPC), antioxidant activities (TAC and DPPH), and photoprotective properties as measured by the sun protection factor (SPF). Second, we used response surface methodology (RSM) with a central composite rotatable design (CCDR) approach to investigate the influence of process variables (extraction time, extraction temperature, and solvent concentration) on UAE, which was found to be the most effective extraction technique in our study. Carob byproduct extracts had a TPC ranging from 6.21 to 21.92 mg GAE/g dw, a TAC ranging from 22.00 to 49.30 mg AAE/g dw, DPPH scavenging activity ranging from 56.35 to 90.50%, and SPF values ranging from 8.62 to 22.37. The optimal UAE conditions for maximum TPC, TAC, DPPH, and SPF responses were determined to be 38.90% ethanol, 53.90 °C, and 50.92 min. Using Carob as a source for sustainable and bioactive products in conjunction with optimized UAE is a promising contribution to the cosmetic industry that will help to strengthen the concept of environmentally-friendly "green chemistry". Given that Carob pulp or seeds are considered food byproducts, the research presented here encourages the use of these agri-food waste materials in cosmetics.

The Application of Ultrasonic Assisted Extraction in Analysis Cinnamon and Food Products

The objective of this study was to select suitable experimental conditions for extraction of coumarin by Ultrasonic Assisted Extraction (UAE). Type of extraction solvent, extraction time and temperature were optimized to increase the extraction yield of coumarin from samples of cinnamon and foods containing cinnamon. Optimal UAE conditions include extraction time of 10 min, temperature of 50 °C and extraction solvent based on choline chloride and ʟ-lactic acid. The extraction yields were comparable to traditional solvents – water and methanol.

Extraction of curcumin from turmeric by ultrasonic-assisted extraction, identification, and evaluation of the biological activity

Introduction: Dried rhizomes of turmeric have been traditionally used as a medicinal herb, dietary spice, food source, food preservative, and natural coloring agent in many Asian countries. This study aimed to develop the ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) method for the extraction of curcumin from turmeric powder, evaluate the extraction efficiency, curcumin concentration, and biological activities.Methods: The UAE effects were examined based on several parameters of extraction efficiencies. The curcumin content was also determined using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and the total phenolic content (TPC) was estimated by Folin-Ciocalteu colorimetric method. The antibacterial activity of the extracted was evaluated against the test pathogenic bacteria by the disc diffusion method. The correlation between extraction yield and curcumin content was performed by principal components analysis (PCA).Results: The optimal UAE conditions were: ethanol, a solid-liquid ratio of 1:10 (w/v), an extraction time of 40 min, and only one extraction step. Under the optimal conditions, the yield of curcumin was 160.3 ± 1.17 (mg/g extract) and the TPC was 185.5 ± 3.07 (mg gallic acid equivalent /g extract). PCA presented the positive correlation between curcumin and the TPC of the studied extracts. Comparison of antibacterial activity between UAE and maceration method against the tested bacteria showed no significant difference at P > 0.05.Conclusion: UAE was a viable alternative as a rapid, efficient, and simple means of extraction of curcumin from turmeric. The extracts had great potential as a source of antioxidant agents with high amounts of curcuminoids, phenolic compounds and exhibited activity against pathogenic bacteria.

Optimization of germination and ultrasonic-assisted extraction for the enhancement of γ-aminobutyric acid in pumpkin seed.

Germination and ultrasonic‐assisted extraction (UAE) are economical and effective methods to enhance bioactive compounds in plant seeds. We optimized the germination parameters and UAE parameters by using response surface methodology to maximize the recovery of γ‐aminobutyric acid (GABA) in pumpkin seeds. The optimal germination conditions were as follows: soaking the seeds at 28°C for 6 h with 0.2% CaCl2, 3.8 mg/ml monosodium glutamate, and 4.0 mg/ml vitamin B6, then germination at 30°C for 61.6 h. The optimal conditions for UAE were as follows: 1:75 (w/v) material‐to‐solvent ratio, 220 W ultrasonic power, and ultrasonic treatment at 50°C for 14.4 min, which afforded an extraction yield of 2679 ± 10 mg/100 g. Moreover, the GABA‐enhanced extract showed the potential of hypolipidemic effect in type 2 diabetes rats. These results confirmed that a combination of germination and UAE increased the GABA yield from pumpkin seeds and provided a basis for GABA‐enhanced production to improve lifestyle‐associated diseases.

Effect of ultrasound on extraction and stability of polyphenols from Berberis jaeschkeana C.K. Schneid fruits: A comparative study

The extraction of bioactive compounds from plant sources has always posed the question of stability, which largely depends on the extraction conditions. This study is, therefore, designed to evaluate the stability of polyphenolics from Berberis jaeschkeana fruit extracted under optimal ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) conditions, and make comparisons with conventional extraction (CE). Ultrasonic temperature, solvent concentration and sample-to-solvent ratio were found to significantly affect the extraction yield. Under the optimal UAE conditions, significantly higher polyphenolic contents and antioxidant activity were recorded than CE. The stability of polyphenols varied in UAE and CE conditions, and compounds, such as rutin, vanillic acid, 3-hydroxybenzoic acid and trans cinnamic acid, showed higher stability under UAE, while caffeic, chlorogenic, p-coumaric and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid were completely degraded under ultrasonication. The results revealed that the stability of polyphenolic compounds under UAE depend on the physio-chemical properties of the individual polyphenolic compounds, extraction type and process factors.

Optimisation of ultrasonic‐assisted extraction of natural dyes from pomegranate rind using response surface methodology and its characterisation

AbstractThis paper reports the optimal ultrasonic‐assisted extraction (UAE) conditions for the maximum recovery of natural dyes from pomegranate rind using response surface methodology. The optimum UAE conditions were found to be an extraction time of 60 minutes, an extraction temperature of 65°C, a water to material ratio of 19 mL/g and an ultrasonic power of 132 W. The yield of the extracted pomegranate rind dyes (PRD) under optimum conditions was 17.1% ± 0.1%, which closely agrees with the predicted value of 17.2%. Fourier Transform–infrared and ultraviolet‐visible absorption spectroscopy indicated that there were no significant structural changes in the PRD under optimal UAE conditions. The PRD particle size was clearly reduced, and the distribution was more uniform under the action of the ultrasonic waves. The total anti‐oxidant activity of the PRD was analysed using DPPH• assay, and the results indicated that a proper and reasonable ultrasonic‐assisted treatment can enhance the anti‐oxidant capacity of the pomegranate rind natural dyes. Furthermore, in comparison with Staphylococcus aureus using the Agar plate method, the anti‐bacterial activity indicated that the fabrics dyed with PRD under UAE conditions displayed outstanding anti‐bacterial activity.

Ultrasonic-assisted rapid extraction of Cassia sieberiana D.C.: a Box-Behnken design process optimisation

Ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) on the Cassia sieberiana root was optimised by a three-factor-three-level Box-Behnken design (BBD). A single factor experiment revealed the logic ranges for the UAE parameters for extraction time, temperature and solvent to sample ratio were 10-60 min, 30-60°C and 10-30 mL/g, respectively. The BBD showed that a second-order polynomial model produced a satisfactory fitting of the experimental data (R2 = 0.9917, P < 0.001) with regards to extraction yield. The optimal UAE conditions were 29 min, 45°C and 16.79 mL/g. Under the optimised conditions, the UAE yielded 1.28 ± 0.7% of C. sieberiana root extract as to 0.69 ± 1.1% obtained by maceration and 0.82 ± 0.5% obtained by Soxhlet extraction. The results affirmed that the BBD was suitable in establishing the optimum UAE conditions for a maximum extraction yield while being more efficient and rapid than conventional methods (maceration and Soxhlet extraction).

Achievement of antioxidants from Abelmoschus esculentus L. seeds using ultrasound-assisted extraction optimized by the help of experimental design approach

Developments of food supplements and nutraceuticals from different natural origins require the use of some extraction methods. The success of the procedure relies on theefficiency of the extraction methods. Therefore, extraction methods need to be optimized. This work aimed for the determination of optimal conditions of ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) of antioxidant constituents from okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.) seeds which contain high contents of polysaccharides, polyphenols and flavonoids using response-surface methodology based on Box-Behnken experimental design (BBD). The independent variables of UAE were extraction time (Et, 10-20 min), extraction solvent composition (EC, 50-100% methanol) and extraction solvent volume (EV, 10-20 mL). 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical-scavenging activity, 2,2'-azinobis- (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) radical-scavenging activity and N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylenediamine dihydrochloride (DMPD) radical-scavenging activity were dependent variables. Optimal extraction conditions for UAE from okra seed were: 20 mL volume of 70% methanol at 10 min extraction time for DPPH inhibition; 20 mL volume of 50% methanol at 20 min for ABTS inhibition; 15 mL volume of 55% methanol at 12 min for DMPD inhibition. Under these optimum extraction conditions, the effectiveness of UAE of okra seed was successfully revealed. So, this practical extraction technique can be widely used for the achievement of dietary supplements and nutraceuticals.

Study on optimization of ultrasonic assisted extraction of phenolic compounds from rye bran

Ultrasonic assisted extraction (UAE) conditions for the extraction of phenolic compounds from rye bran (RB) were optimized by using response surface methodology. The optimal conditions for UAE were; time: 29 min, temperature: 66 °C, and solid to solvent ratio: 1:45 (g/mL), which provided a total phenolic content of 245.74 mg GAE/100 g dw. Compared with conventional extraction (CE) technique, UAE resulted in higher yield of total phenolic and flavonoid compounds, whereas only a slight difference was reported in the total flavonol and proanthocyanidin content. The UAE extract showed higher antioxidant activity in all antioxidant assays (DPPH, FRAP, ABTS, reducing power, and H2O2). The phenolic composition of both extracts was analyzed using HPLC-MS. Resultantly, a significant (p < 0.05) increase in the concentration of phenolic acid was observed when the extraction was accomplished with UAE as compared to CE. Both UAE and CE extracts exhibited in vitro hypoglycemic activities by inhibiting α-amylase and α-glucosidase enzymes. However, no significant differences (p > 0.05) were observed in the FTIR spectra of UAE and CE treated RB. These finding indicates that UAE increased the yield of phenolic compounds from RB. Furthermore, these phenolic compounds could be used as a potential source of natural antioxidants.

Ultrasonic-Assisted Extraction (UAE) Process on Thymol Concentration from Plectranthus Amboinicus Leaves: Kinetic Modeling and Optimization

Thymol shows potential medical values and it can be extracted from plants and herbs. In this study, ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) was used to extract thymol from Plectranthus amboinicus leaves. From the extraction kinetics analysis of UAE on thymol, it was found that the highest concentration was collected at temperature of 25 °C with 5.51% of thymol concentration yield. An equilibrium-dependent solid–liquid extraction (EDSLE) model was found to be the best fitted model for thymol extraction using UAE. The parameters for optimization were the temperature of extraction (40 to 60 °C), extraction time (20 to 40 min), and the solid to solvent ratio (1:30 to 1:40 g/mL). The optimal UAE conditions were found at a temperature of 55 °C, 23 min of extraction, and a solid–solvent ratio of 1:35 g/mL. The changes in the structural surface of P. amboinicus after undergoing the UAE process were investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The possible mechanism of UAE was explained using the SEM images. These findings suggest that UAE is capable of breaking the structural surface of the leaves to extract compounds inside the leaves to the body of the solvent.

Optimization of Ultrasound-Assisted Extraction Conditions Followed by Solid Phase Extraction Fractionation from Orthosiphon stamineus Benth (Lamiace) Leaves for Antiproliferative Effect on Prostate Cancer Cells.

Primarily, optimization of ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) conditions of Orthospihon stamineus was evaluated and verified using a central composite design (CCD) based on three factors including extraction time (minutes), ultrasound amplitude (A), and solvent concentration (%). The response surface methodology (RSM) was performed to develop an extraction method with maximum yield and high rosmarinic acid content. The optimal UAE conditions were as follows: extraction time 21 min, ultrasound amplitudes 62 A, and solvent composition 70% ethanol in water. The crude extract was further fractionated using solid-phase extraction (SPE), where six sequential fractions that varied in polarity (0–100% Acetonitrile in water) were obtained. Next, the six fractions were evaluated for their antioxidant and anti-cancer properties. This study found that Fraction 2 (F2) contained the highest rosmarinic acid content and showed the strongest antioxidant activity. Additionally, F2 showed an anti-proliferative effect against prostate cancer (DU145) with no harmful effect on normal cells.

Understanding Mechanism of Adsorption in the Decolorization of Aqueous Methyl Violet (6B) Solution by Okra Polysaccharides: Experiment and Theory.

Optimal conditions for ultrasonic-assisted extraction of polysaccharide from Chinese okra were found using response surface methodology. The okra polysaccharide (OPS) was used for the adsorption of methyl violet 6B (MV). Conditions for maximal adsorption efficiency of MV were established. The mechanism of MV adsorption was investigated by the characterization and physicochemical analysis of OPS before and after the adsorption of MV. Both infrared (IR) analysis and molecular dynamics (MD) simulation suggest that MV adsorption by OPS was an electrostatic interaction between MV and oxygen-containing groups of OPS. Further, the results of first-principles calculation were in agreement with IR spectroscopy measurements and MD simulation, which were all consistent with the suggested adsorption mechanism. Optimization of okra extraction conditions, maximized efficiency of MV adsorption by OPS, and the understanding of the adsorption mechanism are the highlights of this work, providing a reference for promising applications of OPS in the treatment of wastewater in textile, paper, and other industries.

Optimized ultrasonic-assisted extraction of phenolic antioxidants from grape (Vitis vinifera L.) skin using response surface methodology.

Currently, the analysis of bioactive compounds is easily carried out by modern chromatographic and spectrometric techniques, but the success of the procedure still depends on the efficiency of the extraction methods. This work aimed at finding the optimal conditions for ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) of phenolic antioxidants from grape skin using single-factor experimentation combined with response-surface methodology. Our extraction parameters were ethanol concentration, time and temperature. Total phenolic content (TPC and TPC-280), 2,2-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical-scavenging activity and oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) were dependent variables. A second-order polynomial model satisfactorily described the experimental data. Optimized extraction conditions for UAE from grape skin were: 59.5% ethanol, 113.6min and 66.8°C for TPC extraction; 61.1% ethanol, 99.4min and 66.1°C for TPC-280 extraction; 57.1% ethanol, 99.5min and 66.8°C for DPPH radical-scavenging activity; 60.2% ethanol, 82.4min and 66.8°C for ORAC value. Our work provides detailed and useful information to optimize the extraction of grape skin phenols, which are widely used as dietary supplements and nutraceuticals.

Optimization of Ultrasound-Assisted Extraction on Antioxidative Activity of Malus toringoides Using Response Surface Methodology

Ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) was optimized using response surface methodology (RSM) to maintain the cyto-protective activity of M.toringoides against oxidative stress. The optimal conditions for UAE were a 58 mL/g liquid-solid ratio, a 38 °C extraction temperature, an 85% solvent concentration, and a 19-min extraction time, which resulted in a protection rate of 54.57% against hydrogen peroxide-induced oxidative stress in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). These results were comparable to the predicted value of 53.75%. The extracts showed excellent antioxidant activity, and phlorizin was detected in the dried leaves of Malus.toringoides. The highest yield of phlorizin (101.239 mg/g) was also obtained using these conditions. Taken together, these results showed that the method successfully integrated RSM and partial least squares regression methods to optimize M.toringoides extraction to yield the highest cyto-protective activity and effectively increase the yield of phlorizin from M.toringoides.

Ultrasound-assisted extraction and characterization of anthocyanins from purple corn bran

Purple corn is abundant in anthocyanins, which has attractive colors and potential applications in beneficial health. This study aimed to determine the optimal ultrasound-assisted extraction conditions for purple corn anthocyanins (PCA), and to confirm the anthocyanins from purple corn bran extracts by HPLC-DAD-ESI-MS/MS. Ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) is more time-efficient by comparison of traditional extraction. Meanwhile extraction with corn bran could save the consumption of extractant and improve the extraction yield. The optimal UAE conditions were obtained with the extraction time 35 min, the ultrasonic times 90, solid–liquid ratio 1:8, and the ultrasonic power 400 W. At these conditions, total anthocyanins content was determined as 3.625 ± 0.105 g kg−1, and the extraction yield was 92.45%. The HPLC/MS-MS results showed that the purple corn bran extracts consisted of six kinds of anthocyanins. Practical applications Purple corn is abundant in anthocyanins, which has potential applications in beneficial health, such as antioxidants. The purpose of this study was to find the optimal UAE conditions for purple corn anthocyanins using ultrasound-assisted extraction and identify the anthocyanins from the purple corn bran. The results of this study are suitable for the industrial production of purple corn anthocyanins.

Polysaccharide extraction from Sphallerocarpus gracilis roots by response surface methodology

The extraction process of Sphallerocarpus gracilis root polysaccharides (SGRP) was optimized using response surface methodology with two methods [hot-water extraction (HWE) and ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE)]. The antioxidant activities of SGRP were determined, and the structural features of the untreated materials (HWE residue and UAE residue) and the extracted polysaccharides were compared by scanning electron microscopy. Results showed that the optimal UAE conditions were extraction temperature of 81°C, extraction time of 1.7h, liquid-solid ratio of 17ml/g, ultrasonic power of 300W and three extraction cycles. The optimal HWE conditions were 93°C extraction temperature, 3.6h extraction time, 21ml/g liquid-solid ratio and three extraction cycles. UAE offered a higher extraction yield with a shorter time, lower temperature and a lower solvent consumption compared with HWE, and the extracted polysaccharides possessed a higher antioxidant capacity. Therefore, UAE could be used as an alternative to conventional HWE for SGRP extraction.

Extraction optimization, structure and antioxidant activities of Fortunella margarita Swingle polysaccharides

The objective of this study was to maximize the yield of polysaccharides extracted from Fortunella margarita Swingle (FMPS) and investigate the relationship between the structure and antioxidant activities. The optimal conditions for ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) of FMPS were ultrasonic power 171W, extraction temperature 50°C, water volume to raw material weight (W/M) ratio 32ml/g and extraction time 87min. Under these conditions, the yield of FMPS was 4.15±0.11% (w/w), which was increased by 129.28% compared to hot water extraction. FMPS3, the main fraction of FMPS, was isolated by DEAE Sepharose CL-6B column chromatography. According to size-exclusion chromatography, multi-angle laser light-scattering and refractive index (SEC-MALLS-RI), the molecular weight (Mw), polydispersity index (Mw/Mn) and root-mean-square turning radius (Rg) of FMPS3 were 4.58×105 (±2.02%)Da, 1.08 (±1.23%), 28.13 (±1.73%)nm, respectively. FMPS3, linked mainly by β-glycosidic bonds, consisted of galactose, galacturonic acid, glucose, mannose and rhamnose as shown by HPLC, FT-IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR. Furthermore, FMPS3 displayed strong scavenging ability against hydroxyl, superoxide and DPPH radicals. The activity was affected by the monosaccharide composition, molecular weight and proportion of β-glycosidic bonds and was a result of a combination of multiple structural factors. FMPS3 is potentially a novel natural antioxidant agent.

Erratum to: Optimization of Ultrasonic-Assisted Extraction of Polyphenols, Anthocyanins, and Antioxidants from Raspberry (Rubus coreanus Miq.) Using Response Surface Methodology

Ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE) was employed for highly efficient extraction of polyphenols, anthocyanins, and antioxidants from raspberry. Process variables were investigated, including ethanol concentration, sonication time, and extraction temperature. A central composite design consisting of three variables and five levels was used to assess the significance of each process variable in UAE applied to raspberry. Analysis of variance confirmed the ethanol concentration as the most significant variable, and reduction of anthocyanins was not observed during UAE. Optimal UAE conditions were an ethanol concentration of 36.2 %, extraction time of 12.84 min, and temperature of 50 °C estimated using overlapped contour plots, which gave predicted maximal values for total polyphenol content (48.67 mg gallic acid equivalent/g), total anthocyanin content (15.23 mg cyanidin-3-glucoside equivalent/g), and antioxidant activity (253 μmol/L trolox equivalent). Verification experiments were carried out under optimal conditions, and good agreement was found between estimated values and experimental values, suggesting that the fitted model was valid and accurate for the UAE process.
