Research on the Strategy of Film and Television Operation Management Mode

At this stage, with the rapid development of the film industry, more and more film and television works have emerged, mainly films, TV series, and online dramas. The film industry is an important part of the cultural industry of various countries. Analysing the operation mechanism of the film production management model will help the prosperity and development of the film industry. The research is mainly about the operation and management mode of the film and television industry. It uses the methods of searching for literature, searching on the Internet, and finally summarises the steps and strategies of film and television operation. The operation steps of film and television mainly include four links: shooting, production, distribution, and screening. Each link is quite important and needs to be carefully arranged and operated, with a strong team and psychological quality to deal with various emergencies. It must invest much money and energy in every step to complete perfect work and create profits in the final release. The operation of film and television is still advancing and will continue to develop new models and update strategies to meet the development of the times.

Patterns of saliency and semantic features distinguish gaze of expert and novice viewers of surveillance footage

When viewing the actions of others, we not only see patterns of body movements, but we also "see" the intentions and social relations of people. Experienced forensic examiners – Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) operators – have been shown to convey superior performance in identifying and predicting hostile intentions from surveillance footage than novices. However, it remains largely unknown what visual content CCTV operators actively attend to, and whether CCTV operators develop different strategies for active information seeking from what novices do. Here, we conducted computational analysis for the gaze-centered stimuli captured by experienced CCTV operators and novices' eye movements when viewing the same surveillance footage. Low-level image features were extracted by a visual saliency model, whereas object-level semantic features were extracted by a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN), AlexNet, from gaze-centered regions. We found that the looking behavior of CCTV operators differs from novices by actively attending to visual contents with different patterns of saliency and semantic features. Expertise in selectively utilizing informative features at different levels of visual hierarchy may play an important role in facilitating the efficient detection of social relationships between agents and the prediction of harmful intentions.

Use of an Ethanol-powered Motor-generator to Electricity Generation for Countryside Population and Small Isolated Communities

Due to the growing demand in the global energy mix and the constant concern about the use and the scarci ty of fossil fuels, the study of cleaner, cheaper, easy obtaining and environment-friendly alternative fuels has become a matter of general interest. In Brazil, the sugar cane-based ethanol is a good alternative for the use of gasoline, since the country has a land fit for cultivation of this crop, skilled labor and suitable climatic conditions, and has low emissions of greenhouse gases. In this study it was used a four-cylinder Otto-cycle engine powered by gasoline with no adjustments. It was evaluated the system performance, power, voltage, and specific fuel consump tion using mixtures of gasoline and ethanol in the follow ing proportions: E0, E5, E10, E15, E20, E30, E35, E40, E45, E50, E55, E60, E65, E70, E75, E80, E85, E90, E95 e E100. The amount of harmful exhaust gases expelled by the engine (CO2 and NOx), was also analyzed, and it was observed a reduction in the amount of CO2 expelled by the engine due to the increase of ethanol concentration in the mixture. In contrast, the amount of NOx increased due to the fact that the temperature in the combustion chamber is higher for ethanol. As a result it was observed that the motor-generator provides 800 W of power, which is enough to allow the operation of refrigerator, television and electric bulbs in a small home.

Aaker Customer Implementation through Brand Equity in RTV Innovation Marketing Programs

This research aims to analyze the problems that exist in a company in the entertainment sector, namely regional television operating in Riau Melayu, mainly the marketing used. The research was conducted using descriptive qualitative research methods using secondary and primary data obtained through interview, observation, and documentation collection methods. This research obtained results from weaknesses that occurred through SWOT analysis, so an evaluation was carried out to form brand equity in the marketing media that had previously used brand equity. The theory used in this research is the Aaker Brand Equity Theory, where Riau TV is expected to be able to manage the company's existing marketing media through existing social media. This program will form a good perception and experience for its loyal viewers so that Riau TV has a good image in society.

Approach in installing and configuring general program monitoring client devise for IPTV monitoring of A1 and Vivacom

In the article, we address the issue of automated initialization, installation, and configuration of the General Program Monitoring, version 3 application with minimal human involvement and manipulation. General Program Monitoring is Internet Protocol TV monitoring software built from scratch. It is used to monitor the viewing behaviour of customers of the television operators A1 and Vivacom. The purpose of the article is to present an approach for an automated installation and configuration process. To achieve this goal, we review the design and implementation of the software as well as the client application. The novelty of the approach is realized in a fully automated integration of the monitoring software and the procedures for its installation and configuration on the client device and the network, in the conditions of independence from the architecture of the network infrastructure and other accompanying hardware and software limitations.

The endeavour for political and professional freedom in Hungarian television during the 1956 October revolution

This study tracks the activities of Hungarian Television’s Executive Committee, elected during the October 1956 revolution, which played a key role in the establishment of said television. The work of the Executive Committee included the development of a new television programme policy and structure, as well as the first transmissions of sports events, operas and theatrical performances, the renewal of newscasts and the introduction of entertainment and scientific programmes. It had a long-lasting impact and provided a solid basis for the future operation of Hungarian television.

I spy with my AI: The effects of AI-based visual cueing on human operators’ performance and cognitive load in CCTV control rooms

The increased number of security cameras in modern cities has elevated the video-feed monitoring demands of closed-circuit television (CCTV) operators. As a result, new AI-driven support systems that leverage the power of computer vision algorithms have been deployed to facilitate the operators' work. However, to effectively design intuitive, AI-driven interfaces and validate their impact on the operators' performance, extensive user testing is required. To address this, we previously developed and tested a virtual reality (VR) control room that can be used to iteratively evaluate intelligent computer assistants and interfaces while operators are subjected to different cognitive load. In the present study, we use this VR environment and physiological markers (e.g., eye tracking measures) to investigate how AI-based visual cueing (i.e., pushing forward video streams on which detections are highlighted by rectangles drawn around targets) affects operator performance and cognitive load. Results suggest that support systems using such technology in a control room improve operators’ performance and decrease their cognitive load, as reflected by changes in pupil dilation and subjective reports irrespective of induced cognitive load.

La Fiera: Mujer, identidad y nación.

The character of Catalina from the TV soap La Fiera initiates a new way of representing Chilean women on open television. This research will analyze the relationship of the protagonist with the change of the idea of national identity about women. For this, the study of the editorial line of the public channel TVN in the return to democracy and the direction of Vicente Sabatini and his team in the development of the soap operas of the time that manage to unify the concepts of the social and identity will be taken into account, taking into account the national context, in addition to television and feminist studies to analyze and establish a relationship between women, identity and nation.

Una perspectiva dialógica entre la estructura productiva y las tramas narrativas de las ficciones seriadas televisivas argentinas (2011-2020)

Este artículo analiza cómo la estructura de propiedad y las alianzas entre los agentes productores de ficción seriada para televisión se vinculan con las temáticas y narrativas abordadas por este tipo de producto cultural. Desde la economía política de la comunicación y los estudios culturales, el trabajo recupera las temáticas predominantes en las 100 ficciones de estreno más vistas en la televisión abierta de Argentina durante la década comprendida entre los años 2011 y 2020. Se concluye que existe un amplio predominio de temáticas universales con referencias locales no estructurales, sobre las puramente locales.

Интеграция телекоммуникационных сетей в системе мониторинга с использованием доменных онтологий

This paper discusses the problems of designing cloud-based telecommunication network monitoring systems based on the construction and application of models of such networks in the form of knowledge graphs. The proposed monitor-ing systems combine the functions of systems used by various telecommunications network operators. The considered design approach involves the use of a number of common ontologies and domain-level ontologies, such as the tele-communications services domain ontology (TSDO) and the hybrid telecommunications network (ToCo) ontology. To take into account the specifics of networks and operators in the developed monitoring system, an extension of the do-main ontology is provided. The article considers the case of combining telecommunication networks built on the basis of different domain-level ontologies or without using an ontological model, by adding new ontologies, within the framework of one monitoring system. To automate the design process, an algorithm for comparing classes of domain ontologies with components of telecommunication network models is proposed. The application of the proposed ap-proach is shown on the example of the problem of adding a new network segment to the monitoring system of a cable television operator.

Advertising of foods and beverages in social media aimed at children: high exposure and low control

BackgroundThis work is aimed to describe the recent scientific literature developed in the food/beverage sector and social networks aimed at children and adolescents, as well as current regulations.MethodsA rapid review of the studies on advertising and social media aimed at children, published from 2010 tp 2020 is carried out, following the established inclusion criteria. In addition, the regulations in the countries in which the studies were carried out were also reviewed.ResultsOf the 573 articles, 7 met these criteria. The great attraction of unhealthy foods for children is observed, who remembered and recognized a greater number of unhealthy food brands and, by extension, the ability to influence of communication in social networks. Each country has its own self-regulation, two (Ireland and USA) have legislation on children’s food advertising, and Australia has legislation that applies only to open television. However, none of the analyzed countries have specific regulations on food, children and media advertising.ConclusionsGiven the fact that there is evidence about the great attraction that social networks suppose for the child, that they are a stimulus for the consumption of food and that many of these foods are harmful to their health; we should work in two directions: 1) Promote public policies based on promoting healthy habits among minors; and 2) Monitor and implement regulations in commercial communication social media.

Estimation and Mapping of the Received Power Level of Digital Signals TV Using Spatial Interpolation Methods

The signal digitization process of the open television system is still in progress, therefore, the study of the digital signal propagation has great importance so that broadcasters can develop and improve the transmission service. The field measurement of digital signal parameters is one of the most reliable means to analyze the signal propagation in a given area. In this work, received power measurements of a TV station digital signal in the city of Mossoró, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil were performed. The objective is to implement interpolation methods and identify which is the most suitable for the spatial representation of power data in this region through the Mean Error (ME) and Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) evaluation metrics. A good representation of the received power level contributes to the mapping of greater and lesser intensity of the digital signal in the region. The implementation of the interpolation methods was performed in Surfer® software (Golden Software, LLC), which provides the cross-validation report with the ME and RMSE values associated with each method. The Ordinary Kriging method with exponential variogram model obtained the lowest RMSE value (7.6083) and, therefore, the most adequate estimates.

Bilingualism and the Televisual Architecture of Linguistic (dis-) Encounters in the Israeli Television Show Arab Labor

Considered the first fully Hebrew-Arabic bilingual television show on Israeli prime time television, Arab Labor (2007–2013) attracted the attention of critics and scholars for its sharp satire and criticism of the daily dilemmas and discrimination faced by Israeli Arab citizens. Although its success among audiences and critics opened the door for other bilingual television shows spoken in Hebrew and Arabic, it also caused frustration for the series’ creator due the limits imposed by commercial television operating in an antagonistic socio-political context. While previous studies on the show have focused on its main narrative conflicts and themes, the present study proposes to examine the televisual spatio-temporal, linguistic and dramatic structures that foster the encounters and conflicts between the two languages spoken in the series.

The recursive-adaptive rental subscription model (R-ARSM) in the new normal: an application to the housing sector

Background: The last three decades have witnessed a remarkable transformation from a traditional billing system to a subscription model. Many organizations have adopted the subscription models especially in the service sectors like telecommunication, internet service providers, and satellite television operators. During the lockdown occasioned by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, people were forced to subscribe for their daily needs, and their lifestyle was altered, and people must reset to cope with the new normal. The new normal era has exposed many people to subscribe to what they could afford based on length of time and limited resources. Unexpected daily economic challenges emerged, and people relocated to affordable places which led to rent default, rent arrears, and refund requests. This paper focused on how to solve rent default, rent arrears, and refund request problems in the public and private housing sector. Methods: Relying on this, we proposed recursive-adaptive rental subscription models (R-ARSM) that could allow tenants options to subscribe for house rent with available resources. The R-ARSM concept mimics the internet subscription, mobile phone subscription, and satellite television subscription models whereby services to customers on annually, monthly, weekly, daily, and hourly rates are terminated when the subscribed amount elapses. Results: The model based on the penalty constant showed that it is a balanced model for both landlords and tenants in the housing sector. The R-ARSM showed promising results, it is time-dependent and indicates the tenant's available balance per period. Conclusions: The analysis revealed that the R-ARSM concept would solve refund requests and rent default problems if implemented.

Method of Multilevel Adaptive Synthesis of Monitoring Object Knowledge Graphs

The paper introduces a method for adaptive deductive synthesis of state models, of complex objects, with multilevel variable structures. The method makes it possible to predict the state of objects using the data coming from them. The data from the objects are collected with sensors installed on them. Multilevel knowledge graphs (KG) are used to describe the observed objects. The new adaptive synthesis method develops previously proposed inductive and deductive synthesis methods, allowing the context to be taken into account when predicting the states of the monitored objects based on the data obtained from them. The article proposes the algorithm for the suggested method and presents its computational complexity analysis. The software system, based on the proposed method, and the algorithm for multilevel adaptive synthesis of the object models developed, are described in the article. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown in the results from modeling the states of telecommunication networks of cable television operators.

ViolenceNet: Dense Multi-Head Self-Attention with Bidirectional Convolutional LSTM for Detecting Violence

Introducing efficient automatic violence detection in video surveillance or audiovisual content monitoring systems would greatly facilitate the work of closed-circuit television (CCTV) operators, rating agencies or those in charge of monitoring social network content. In this paper we present a new deep learning architecture, using an adapted version of DenseNet for three dimensions, a multi-head self-attention layer and a bidirectional convolutional long short-term memory (LSTM) module, that allows encoding relevant spatio-temporal features, to determine whether a video is violent or not. Furthermore, an ablation study of the input frames, comparing dense optical flow and adjacent frames subtraction and the influence of the attention layer is carried out, showing that the combination of optical flow and the attention mechanism improves results up to 4.4%. The conducted experiments using four of the most widely used datasets for this problem, matching or exceeding in some cases the results of the state of the art, reducing the number of network parameters needed (4.5 millions), and increasing its efficiency in test accuracy (from 95.6% on the most complex dataset to 100% on the simplest one) and inference time (less than 0.3 s for the longest clips). Finally, to check if the generated model is able to generalize violence, a cross-dataset analysis is performed, which shows the complexity of this approach: using three datasets to train and testing on the remaining one the accuracy drops in the worst case to 70.08% and in the best case to 81.51%, which points to future work oriented towards anomaly detection in new datasets.

Movie characteristics as determinants of download-to-own performance in the Korean video-on-demand market

The global video-on-demand (VOD) market is experiencing drastic change due to the rise of over-the-top (OTT) services such as Netflix and YouTube. Traditional Pay TV service providers such as internet protocol television (IPTV) operators and cable TV providers are making efforts to cope with such changes. One of the ways for such providers to remain competitive is to use the proper service models of VODs and the download-to-own (DTO) model can be a very attractive service model for IPTV operators. While many previous studies have examined VOD success, there is a lack of research on the factors that influence VOD success for the DTO model. Thus, this study examined the characteristics of movie VODs as the determinants of DTO performance in the Korean VOD market by analyzing 433 movies offered in 2017 and 2018 via SK Broadband VOD platforms, a major IPTV operator in Korea. The results indicate that G-rated movies, sequel movies, movies with fandom, and those with popular original soundtrack (OST) are likely to have higher sales via a DTO model than other movies. This study provides practical implications for Pay TV service providers, VOD platforms, movie producers, and governments.

Inclusão e Acessibilidade no Cinema para Surdos: proposta de Festival de Cinema Surdo Português

The realization of human aptitude for linguistics construction was a decisive step for the legitimization of sign language. The possibility of registration of this visio-spacial language - provided by cinema - was a huge contribution to the dissemination of deaf culture. The early years of the cinematographic industry, marked by silent films, provided total inclusion to these minorities. The setback happens with the introduction of sound and since then deaf culture is poorly represented in cinematography. Portugal has a very limited number of productions (only four) with characteristics of accessibility: descriptive subtitling for the deaf and deafened, and/or translated into sign language. Portuguese law only regulates the television operators not covering film production companies. The low volume of deaf cinema production and the poor circulation of these films lead to the proposal of a Portuguese Film Festival of Deaf Cinema.
