Impacts of Internet of Things (Iot) and 5G Network on Technology Enhanced Learning (Tel)

Thanks to the express rise of digitalization, Artificial Intelligence, and Android Communication Technologies, the internet has gradually encroached into many aspects of our daily lives dependent on the maintenance of the status quo. In the era of digital technology, it has grown into a significant field that is closely related to the future of the nation. For instance, the Internet has permeated every classroom, every dorm, and every college student's daily study routine. College students have emerged as the Internet's most aggressive adopters of new technologies. This will help more swiftly identify the effects of teaching and learning. Roles and permissions for users can also be managed by it. This kind of integrated "network online course" is one that colleges and universities are implementing more frequently. The range, timeliness, interaction, and breadth of the computer network can enhance traditional education and provide ideological and intellectual education in colleges and universities a new lease on life. Regional Management Centers as a New Form of Management Activity

The article explores a little-studied topic about the modern form of regional governance based on interdepartmental communication. On the example of the Regional Management Centers (RMC) as a modern form of communication among different departments and of an informational interaction among citizens and authorities, the authors analyze the ways of forming a new public management concept, based on actors-network concept and digitalization ethics, the analysis of social networks, the concept of figuration and the fractal evolutionary concept. The authors assume that the introduction of mechanisms of an online interaction and networking creates proactive connections between citizens and authorities and increases the level of confidence and the management efficiency. The empirical data were collected through a range of interviews with representatives of different departments directly linked with the RMC activity, as well as through the documents analysis and descriptive statistics. As a result of the study, the authors draw conclusions about the importance of a network approach in the organization of public administration, where the SDGs can become a full-fledged tool as part of the new paradigm of New Public Government (NPG). At the same time, the important goals are both increasing the level of digital maturity of the population and the readiness of the system itself for restructuring at all levels.

Small and medium-sized enterprises and venture companies face many threats to their survival as they cannot adapt to environmental changes due to lack of management resources compared with those of medium-sized and large enterprises. This study aimed at SMEs and venture companies, as the core of the CEO's on-offline network social capital and the company's dynamic capacity, which is the effect thereof. This study empirically analyzed the relationship between the relationship between the company and the firm's resilience. As a result of the study, the size of offline network social capital of CEO of SMEs and venture companies had a significant positive (+) effect on adaptive capacity and innovation capacity.
 In the network relationship, the degree of help in problem-solving had a significant positive (+) effect on absorption capacity and innovation capacity. In addition, the size of online network social capital had a significant positive (+) effect on innovation capacity, and the size of on-offline networks had a significant positive (+) effect on resilience through innovation capacity. The degree of help for resolution confirmed a significant positive (+) effect on resilience through innovation capability. This study aims to provide useful information for establishing basic strategies for sustainable growth by establishing effective resilience of small and medium-sized business CEO.

Social network recruitment technology adoption framework in higher educational institutions in Kenya

The success of the organization depends on effective recruitment and selection system. Looking at the Kenyan labour market, there are still unfilled vacancies and organisations have problems regarding their staffing. Recruitment by Social Networking Sites is an aspect of a new topic and there is a lack of studies about it. In this study, the main objective is to develop a framework for recruitment and selection process using social networking technologies with a case study on Kenyan universities. The study also focuses its attention to determine how the recruitment and selection practices affect the organizational outcomes. Specifically, it enriches literature by identifying the effect of various social networking sites as recruitment channels. Quantitative research will entail defining specific variables, research questions, as well as using measurements to determine causality. The analysis will be done through inductive methodology to discover the critical elements that emerge during online networking and personal touch, and analysis of factors that affect the selection and use of these technologies. Through this, human resource managers will be able to use the framework for achieving effective recruitment of potential employees through social networking technologies.

Legal Nature of the User Agreement of the Social Network “VKontakte”

The development of digitalization contributes to an increase in the efficiency of the use of information technologies. New technical devices and programs emerge. Digital transformation contributes to the emergence and development of previously unknown public relations that require legal regulation. Virtual communication is becoming an integral part of everyday life. People communicate using various social networks online. Unfortunately, legal acts are not always able to regulate newly formed relations, especially in the field of information technology, and therefore, this gap is eliminated with the help of local regulation of relations. The relevance of the work is explained by the lack of understanding of the legal nature of relations arising from the use of information resources among users of programs, websites, other software products and information platforms. The purpose of this work is to study in detail the user agreement presented by the VK social network as a contract. The authors examined separate provisions of the user agreement, conditions, and procedures. As a result, the researchers determined the type of the user agreement as well as the legal characteristics of the user agreement as a contract for the provision of services for a fee. The conclusion is made about the signing the user agreement through silence.

'It's like a never-ending diabetes youth camp': Co-designing a digital social network for young people with type 1 diabetes.

Living with a chronic condition such as type 1 diabetes (T1D) affects everyday life and support from others experiencing a similar situation can be helpful. A way to receive such support is to use an online network where people can connect and share experiences. Research has described the benefits of using such tools for connecting patients. The aim of this study was to describe the co-design of a social network for young people with T1D and to describe their experiences when using this network. A co-design approach was used, following three steps adapted from Sanders and Stappers (2008). In all, 36 adolescents with T1D participated. Data in the form of recordings and notes from telephone interviews, workshops and focus groups were collected and then analysed using content analysis. Numerical data from the digital platform were also used. For the interpersonal values, supporting, learning and relating to emerge, the framework of the network must be appealing and user-friendly. The limits of time and place are eliminated, and there is a possibility for many more to join in. Co-design ensures that what stakeholders think is important forms the basis for the design. The interpersonal values that are promoted are ones that only the exchange of lived knowledge and experience can generate. It is complementary to the support that healthcare professionals can offer; thus, this kind of social network is important for improved, coproduced care. The participants in the present study were persons living with T1D. They were active co-creators from the start to the end. An adult person with experience of living with T1D was involved as an advisor in the research team when drafting the manuscript.

The Effect of a Multidisciplinary Blended Learning Program on Palliative Care Knowledge for Health Care Professionals Involved in the Care for People with Parkinson's Disease.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is an increasingly prevalent and progressive degenerative disease. Palliative care for PD should be integrated into the routine care for people with PD. However, PD health care professionals typically lack knowledge of palliative care, highlighting the necessity of educational programs in this field. To determine the effectiveness of a multidisciplinary blended learning program for health care professionals specialized in PD in the Netherlands. We used a pre-posttest intervention design. The intervention consisted of an e-learning in combination with an online network meeting in which the participating health care professionals discussed palliative care for PD with specialists from the field of palliative care. Outcome variables included self-rated level of knowledge (scale 1-10), familiarity with specialized palliative care services (5-point Likert scale) and the validated End-of-Life Professional Caregiver Survey (EPCS). A total of 1029 participants from sixteen different disciplines, all active in the care for people with PD, with a mean age of 45 years and 13 years of working experience, followed the blended learning program. Self-rated level of knowledge improved from 4.75 to 5.72 (0.96; p < 0.001; 95% CI change = [0.85 . . . 1.08]. Familiarity with palliative care services also increased by 1.06 (from 1.85 to 2.90; p=<0.001; 95% CI change = [1.00 . . . 1.12]). A blended learning program can improve self-rated knowledge about palliative care and its services. Such programs might be a first step towards optimal integration of palliative care expertise and services within PD-care.

Research on Emotional Support Provided by Online Community

Psychological studies have demonstrated that, like physical help, emotional support can hasten the grieving process. My selected area of study is how the /r/petloss forum of the internet Reddit community can support people going through the mourning process of losing a pet emotionally. I mostly looked into two issues. First, whether grievers can get emotional support in internet networks. In order to determine whether the six most popular posts offered emotional support to people who were in need of assistance and those who were experiencing distress, I looked at and recorded the psychological changes of the posters themselves as well as the number of encouraging comments and replies each post received. Second, what practices are the majority in the neighborhood among mourners? Write lengthy articles, brief videos, or other? I looked for 15 mourning postings and organized the data in Word and Excel to list the six most popular posts so I could monitor how each mourned. Two sections make up the majority of the conclusion. The first finding is that mourners might receive emotional assistance from online networks in the form of inspiration and consolation. The second conclusion is that, because lengthy words are better able to capture people's inner selves, writing long words is the most typical approach for people to communicate their grief after losing a pet.

Standards Without Labs: Drug Development in the Psychedelic Underground

Standards are useful in the development of medicine because they enable communication and consistency in experimentation. Standards, however, often require expensive tools like laboratories and clinical trials. How, then, might citizen scientists develop standards given the difficulty of obtaining these tools? This article provides one answer, by describing how Clusterbusters, a non-profit organization that represents an online network of people with cluster headache, developed a standardized protocol for using psychedelic mushrooms as a treatment for their disease without the assistance of laboratory equipment or institutional scientific support. In a multi-sited, digital ethnographic investigation of Clusterbusters, we find they used multiple strategies to standardize their experiments. Clusterbusters consumed their medicine in the form of homegrown psilocybe mushrooms because they lacked access to pharmaceutical-grade psilocybin. A dose of a mushroom cannot be standardized as easily as an isolated chemical, yet each individual experimenter needed to understand how much psychedelic they were about to consume. They solved their problem by developing an “embodied standard” for dosage that combined both the weight of the dried mushroom and the subjective experience the dosage produced. This hybrid measure enabled Clusterbusters to develop a collective phenomenological understanding of a standard dosage. Our discussion highlights how the pragmatic goals of knowledge production of citizen science differ from the institutionalized scientists’ need to legitimate their findings with academic journals, peers, and regulatory agencies. This insight may be useful not only for those who study citizen science, but also those who work with institutionalized protocols in other domains.

Tensions in managing the online network development of autoethnographers

Although literature exists on the methodological development of autoethnographers in the classroom context, little has been written about achieving such development in online networks of dispersed individuals, and the social psychological difficulties between senior members of such networks that might ensue. This conversational autoethnography developed after Alec Grant, the first author, angrily withdrew by email from the South Coast Autoethnography Network (SCAN). Since its inception in 2013, the hub, or centre of operating activity of SCAN has historically been mostly shared between a small number of academics working in, or associated with, Sussex University and the University of Brighton in the south coast of England. With around 65 participants, SCAN aims to facilitate the development of autoethnographers, with many of its members inexperienced in the approach to differing degrees. In their conversational exchange, the authors explore, respond to, and try to make sense of and resolve, the tensions that developed in the group before and after Alec’s withdrawal from it. The authors believe that this article captures many of the interpersonal difficulties that might inevitably arise between senior members, in autoethnographic networks internationally. They therefore hope that it will serve as a useful resource for individual readers and network groups.

Developing Social-ABI-lity: An Online Course to Support Safe Use of Social Media for Connection After Acquired Brain Injury.

People who have an acquired brain injury (ABI) experience challenges using social media. Inversely, rehabilitation clinicians report feeling inadequately prepared to support them in its use. We aimed to develop a collaboratively designed, evidence-based online training resource to support people with an ABI to learn about using social media. Key recommendations for course design have previously been identified through a mixed methods approach, including (a) qualitative exploration of the experiences of people who use social media after ABI, (b) a scoping review to identify key features and effective teaching approaches from existing social media skills training programs. Further design recommendations were obtained in this mixed methods study through (c) collaborative design of course content and features with 23 people, including people with living experience of ABI and other key stakeholders, and (d) a pilot trial of the course prototype with four participants who had an ABI (two men, two women; aged 28-69 years). Training needs to be interactive, including practical components addressing online safety and wellbeing, and to explain how to use social media platforms to connect with others. The first social-ABI-lity prototype incorporated these findings. Pilot data indicated that the prototype was beneficial, with participants demonstrating small increases in social media confidence and knowledge. Areas for further refinement were also identified. The social-ABI-lity self-directed online course is the first of its kind to support people with an ABI in using social media and will be a valuable resource for rehabilitation clinicians internationally. This resource may drive sustainable changes in participation by helping people with ABI to build their social media mastery and to participate in supportive online networks.

Voices of the Costa Rican scientific diaspora: Policy lessons from a decade of experiences from our scientists abroad.

Scientific diasporas have been identified as valuable resources to strengthen science, technology, and innovation in their countries of origin. In this context, our paper seeks to contribute by addressing the following research questions: What are the main features of the Costa Rican scientific diaspora, and what policy lessons can be extracted from their experiences abroad? Toward this goal, we analyzed ten years of diaspora perspectives as collected by TicoTal, an online database and network of Costa Rican scientists studying and working abroad created by the National Academy of Sciences (ANC) in 2010. Our study reveals the main features of the Costa Rican scientific diaspora using 121 interviews published over a ten-year period: we identified the academic areas in which the diaspora has specialized, the countries where they were trained, their current location, the most frequent funding mechanisms and sources that enabled professional opportunities abroad, the level of engagement and collaboration they maintain with the Costa Rican STI ecosystem, along with the incentives they consider important to support and harness the potential of this community to advance STI goals in the country. Results from this analysis can inform national policies and investment strategies in R&D infrastructure and resources, by providing a roadmap to engage with scientific diasporas and benefit from their training and talent, as well as guide future scholarship and exchange programs.

It's not what you do, it's the way that you do it: An experimental task delineates among passive, reactive and interactive styles of behaviour on social networking sites.

Studies have produced vastly disparate findings when exploring relationships between social networking site (SNS) usage and psychosocial well-being. These inconsistencies might reflect a lack of consideration for how people use SNS; specifically, while meaningful interactions are suggested to foster positive feelings, the passive consumption of others' feeds is proposed to have negative effects on users' well-being. To facilitate the empirical evaluation of these claims, the present study developed a computerised task to measure styles of usage on a mock SNS platform. Administering this Social Network Site Behaviour Task (SNSBT) online to 526 individuals, we identified three dissociable usage styles that extend the active-passive dichotomy employed frequently in the literature: passive use (consuming content posted by others), reactive use (reacting to others' content), and interactive use (interacting with others through content sharing). Furthermore, our data reveal that these usage styles differ on several measures of psychosocial variables employed frequently in the disparate literature: more interactive users reported greater feelings of social connectedness and social capital than passive or reactive users. Importantly, however, our results also reveal the multi-dimensional nature of usage styles, with online network size and time spent on SNS platforms serving as potentially confounding influences on some psychosocial measures. These findings not only advance our understanding of SNS behaviour by providing empirical support for theoretic propositions, but also demonstrate the utility of the SNSBT for experimental investigations into the psychosocial outcomes of different SNS usage styles.

Multidisciplinary Learning Using Online Networking in Biomedical Engineering

Multifaceted thinking is important to tackle global issues for a sustainable society. It is difficult to select useful information from big data with one-sided thinking. This article takes as an example the controversy related to "vaccines" and "masks" in pandemics. Online education is useful to help control of infectious diseases. Face-to-face group meetings make it easy to interrupt group activities for individual activities. Online meetings are considering various ideas as an alternative to face-to-face meetings. The field of biomedical engineering includes faculties and students from diverse backgrounds. "Cross-cultural exchange" is also useful for multifaceted experiences. With the keyword "life support technology," a Japanese academic society and a Thai university conducted online networking for information exchange. The academic society is working to encourage students. The university is developing new fields. Information exchange is expected to lead to further developments in complex fields. It is expected to lead to the development of human resources that can deal with global problems.

LatAm Fingers Initiative: Challenges and opportunities of launching a multicultural trial in pandemic times

AbstractBackgroundThe Latin American FINGERS initiative gathers 12 countries, including Spanish and Portuguese‐speaking populations. We aim to describe challenges and opportunities related to launching a multi‐country trial during the Covid‐19 pandemic. Identified challenges included. a) To train personnel from the different teams in trial procedures b) To assess the training results c) To provide support regarding the trial set‐up on the different sites.MethodThe challenges were approached with multiple online networking strategies. a) Training was provided online in workgroup meetings led by specialists from the different interventions. Furthermore, because our project includes English, Spanish and Portuguese speakers, the training sessions were recorded, and subtitles in the alternate language were provided. b) To assess training, a web‐based campus with educational sessions and questionnaires with different educational paths for each role in the intervention was set up. Additionally, we created different certifications, and a medal system to reward the training completion was included. c) Two innovative platforms provided support. We created a WhatsApp Chatbot to assist investigators 24/7, automatically answering questions, sending resources required for visits, and reporting difficulties. The Chatbot includes a database system to register adverse events reports and report them immediately to the clinical core. Finally, a LatAm FINGERS Consulting Room was built to provide weekly online sessions led by the executive committee. Members can connect without a prior appointment and discuss any questions.ResultHitherto, 16 in‐vivo online sessions were provided to 203 trainees, 15 multilingual videos summarizing essential aspects of intervention, and six tutorials solving frequent problems were uploaded in the web‐based campus with multiple language subtitles. A total of 93 participants received certification for the trial. 9 meetings have been carried out so far regarding the Consulting Room, and more than 30 conflicts have been solved. Chatbot has answered a mean of 12 daily questions since its implementation.ConclusionWe present successful tools to implement an intervention in multicultural centers separate by more than 10000 km and 5 time zones where travel was banned. Finally, this trial also brought up the opportunity to increase the spirit of the scientific community and strengthen the network ties.

Integration of novel uncertainty models construction of college art and art design teaching system based on big data analysis

In this paper to explore the improvement direction of college art and art design teaching system, this paper combines big data technology and intelligent data processing model to construct college art and art design system, and proposes a new blind equalization algorithm of online echo state network based on prediction principle. Moreover, this paper adopts the complex ESN as the prediction error filter, and adds the phase rotation factor after the amplitude adjustment, which solves the limitation that the existing blind equalization algorithm based on the prediction principle cannot handle complex signals. In addition, this paper uses the Kalman filter algorithm to update the parameters of the network online to achieve the purpose of tracking the channel changes in real time. The experimental research results show that the college art and art design teaching system proposed in this paper has a good teaching effect and can effectively improve the effect of art and art design education in colleges and universities.

MEDIA STRATEGY IN UPHOLDING THE TRUTH IN POST TRUTH ERA

Initially the mass media acted as the sole interpreter of truth, but now it is divided into many versions of truth. The treatise of truth presented is distorted by the truths of media construction on the internet network. Truth is no longer valuable and becomes relative. This condition made people confused, believing the truth from the media soon disappeared because it was annulled by other media. However, the public cannot be separated from their dependence on information and always seek and apply themselves to the media. Based on this description, the research is directed to uncover the phenomenon of truth in the post-truth era by using qualitative methods that emphasize mainstream media strategies in spreading, shaping, and confirming public beliefs. The results of the study show that the strategy of upholding the truth is part of daily activities by penetrating online networks carried out by all subsidiaries by spreading the truth based on the ethical principles contained in the Journalistic Code of Ethics and the Basic Press Law, as well as value principles that refer to facts, objectivity. , as well as verification, as a guide to the value of information by educating the public about the types of verified information, conducting campaigns regarding media credibility, to efforts to support the movement to fight hoax.

Building coalitions on Facebook: ‘social media unionism’ among Danish bike couriers

AbstractPlatform work represents an important challenge for the ‘Danish model’ of unionisation. Using interviews and ethnographic data, this article analyses the strategies of the Danish grassroots union movement the Wolt Workers' Group, representing principally migrant couriers using the food‐delivery platform Wolt. This study is an attempt to map an emergent form of flexible labour organisation based on horizontal, informal online networks while supported in different ways by established unions. We term this strategy of balanced autonomy and support ‘social media unionism'. Wolt couriers' attempts at grassroots organisation via social media is an important and understudied issue, especially their complex relationship to union actors. The ‘social media unionism' explored in this article allows for the formation and maintenance of nimble grassroots mobilisation among workers that are otherwise hard for unions to reach, such as migrants platform workers. We argue that this strategy holds both great possibilities and challenges for the labour movement.
