Indonesia has limited budget to fulfill national defense posture, which cause unstable and fluctuation demand of main tool of weapon systems need. Industry in response to uncertain demand, requires good production planning for the ongoing business cycle. The research problem is how the ideal production strategy in response to fluctuating demand. Research question are analyzing user demand patterns, and production strategies, and ideal production management for industry in response to fluctuating demand. The research used qualitative method. The data obtained then analyzed by qualitative analysis techniques. The result show that user demand is based on availability of budget, which cause the user cannot provide certainly to the demand of main weapon system, the shortterm contract are complicate the industry to design their production plan. The Industry implements the MRP system, in its application, raw materials that are difficult to fulfill due to constrained policies and production machinery that often occur due to the old machine age becomes a problem in the application of MRP system, because MRP which will plan the production needs and the time required to stage of delivery. Implementation of the MRP should ideally be integrated with Just-In-Time and anticipated by the model of lowering risk with gradual change. Conclusions, marketing strategy has not been effective, so that it requires good coordination among relevant stakeholders, the fulfillment of production resources that also have limitations need to be anticipated with an effective production strategy, so that the production strategy is able to adjust the conditions that cannot be ensured, Strategy with the application of MRP system combined with Just-In-Time and method of lowering risk with gradual change, it is expected that the industry can survive the fluctuating demand and the policy that makes the limitations.

Exploring the views of undocumented migrant women on access to maternity services in the UK

Abstract Background Migrant women face inequalities in access to health-care services and are known to experience poorer maternal and child outcomes than women born in the UK. The development of more restrictive health policies in the UK and Europe, including being denied or charged for healthcare at maternity services, may be exacerbating these outcomes, particularly among undocumented migrant women without permission to reside. We investigated undocumented migrant women's experiences of accessing maternity services in the UK and their impact on health outcomes. Methods We did semi-structured in-depth qualitative interviews with a purposive sample of migrant women (born outside the UK) who were aged 18 and over, and had experiences of pregnancy in the UK whilst undocumented. Participants were recruited through the Doctors of the World UK clinic. Interviews were transcribed and analysed using thematic analysis. Results We did interviews with 20 undocumented women (age range 31-40 years; mainly from Africa and Asia). Among participants, of whom 13 were pregnant at the time of interview, 10 (50%) first accessed antenatal care late (after the national target of 13 weeks). Women described an ongoing cycle of precariousness, defined by their legal status, social isolation, and poor economic status. Women reported receiving bills of up to £11,500 for maternity services (range £3,072 to £11.500). The impact of their experiences meant that they were deterred from seeking timely health care and were reluctant to present to health services, with women reporting fear and loss of trust in the health system. Conclusions These women's narratives illustrated the potential deterrent and detrimental impact of increasingly restrictive health policies on women's access to care and their health. UK and European health policies must be equitable, non-discriminatory, and better align with our commitments to promote universal health coverage among all individual residing in the region. Key messages Increasingly restrictive health policies may have a deterrent and detrimental impact on migrant women’s access to health care. Undocumented migrant women in the UK reported fear and loss of trust in the health system.

Interleukin-13 ameliorates postischemic hepatic gluconeogenesis and hyperglycemia in rat model of stroke.

Hyperglycemia is a well-known indicator of stroke prognosis, and one-third of nondiabetic patients develop postischemic hyperglycemia during the acute phase of stroke; this is related to relatively poor prognosis, high mortality, and impaired neurological recovery. Interleukin-13 (IL-13), a member of the Th2 cytokine family, is involved in both the regulation of immune response and glucose metabolism. Thus, we investigated the mechanism of postischemic hyperglycemia and the role of IL-13 by using a permanent middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) rat model. Our results indicated that postischemic hyperglycemia was accompanied with hyperinsulinemia and increased HOMA-IR, elevated hepatic gluconeogenesis, and suppressed insulin signaling. A shift towards inflammatory response was evident with results of elevated proinflammatory cytokines and increased expression of negative regulatory proteins, suggesting an ongoing vicious cycle of inflammatory-induced insulin-resistant hyperglycemia. IL-13 treatment counteracted the proinflammatory states and abolished the vicious cycle through enhancing STAT6 and STAT3, which mediated the immune and metabolic pathways respectively; these effects resolved the formerly described pathological changes of postischemic hyperglycemia and reduced infarction size in the MCAO rats. Our findings demonstrated the importance of Th1-Th2 balance in the peripheral glucose metabolism affected by acute ischemic stroke, which provides a new perspective for the prevention and control of postischemic hyperglycemia.

Sticks and Stones: The Naming of Global Talent

In the workplace, demand for globally mobile workers continues to grow. This article examines the consequences for the individual of being named as global talent. Findings from a qualitative study within a large, multinational organisation, reveal the identity struggles these individuals engage in as they seek to reconcile the tensions inherent in such challenging careers. By combining and building on extant literature in naming, identity and global talent, the article offers a greater understanding of the lived experiences of global talent, as they construct and re-construct their identities in an on-going cycle. By drawing on the emerging field of socio-onomastics, a greater understanding of the meaning and connotations of being named as global talent is offered. By highlighting how names do not merely mirror identities, but are negotiated and resisted through a process of identity work, a contribution is made to the fields of identity studies and global talent management.

Solutions for subsidence in the California Delta, USA, an extreme example of organic-soil drainage gone awry

Abstract. The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta is at the heart of California's water supply system that provides water for irrigation and human consumption. It is also home to subsiding organic soils, decreasing native aquatic species populations, water quality degradation, vulnerable levees (levees are equivalent to dikes) and decreasing agricultural viability. There has been substantial progress in the interdisciplinary understanding and quantification of the nature and effects of subsidence and its mitigation. Because of the need for a drained rootzone, farming of crops such as vegetables, trees, vines, corn and alfalfa, results in an ongoing unsustainable cycle of continuing peat oxidation and deepening of drainage ditches to compensate for elevation loss. Despite substantial evidence for the increasing risks to the State's economy and water supply, the unsustainability of the status quo, and evidence for the benefits of alternatives, there has been limited progress in converting to land uses that can reduce, stop and reverse subsidence. Our overall approach has been to measure land-surface elevation changes; understand, quantify and model subsidence and greenhouse gas emissions from drained organic soil, and evaluate alternate land uses. Subsidence rates vary from less than 0.5 to over 2 cm yr−1, depending primarily on depth to groundwater and soil organic matter content. The primary cause of subsidence is the oxidation of organic matter, which has resulted in elevations of −3 to −9 m on about 100 000 ha. Using the results from micrometeorological measurements and modelling, we estimate that organic-matter oxidation causes an annual emission of over 2×106 t of CO2-equivalent which represents about 21 % of the State's plant-based agricultural emissions. Rewetting of the peat soils is emerging as a viable solution. Rice and wetlands stop and (in the case of wetlands) reverse the effects of subsidence and result in a net greenhouse-gas emission reduction benefit. Wetlands accrete about 3 cm of soil per year, can break the unsustainable subsidence/drainage cycle, reverse the trajectory of increasing hydraulic pressures on levees, reduce the probability of levee failure and seepage onto islands (islands are equivalent to polders), and may provide material for biofuels and animal feed. The recent implementation of a methodology for quantification of the GHG benefit is facilitating land use conversion and participation in the carbon market.

Symbolic demarcation: the role of status symbols in preserving interprofessional boundaries

AbstractInterprofessional demarcation is one of the key themes in the study of the professions. This study aims to understand the symbolic resources activated when an elite profession faces challenges to its task jurisdiction from a new, emerging profession. I attempt to answer the following question: ‘How are status symbols used to maintain jurisdictional boundaries between professions?’ I analyzed ethnographic material concerning one of the most elite and ancient professions: Scottish advocates—known as barristers outside Scotland. I found that when faced with competition from other professions, advocates engaged in differentiation through the use of status symbols such as professional dress in and out of court, ceremonies, and everyday rituals. I observed two concurrent processes of differentiation: the maintenance of stability of status symbols and the maintenance of mobility of status symbols, that is, the ongoing cycle of imitation and avoidance, which happens on the boundary of two competing professions. Building on the Simmel effect (1890), I argue that imitation and distinctiveness preserve professional differentiation, and that managing the stability of some symbols and the mobility of others allow elite professionals to maintain their superior status.

Basaltic dyke eruptions at Piton de La Fournaise: characterization of the eruptive products with implications for reservoir conditions, conduit processes and eruptive dynamics

Small-volume proximal-summit eruptions, sometimes with only little precursors, are common at Piton de la Fournaise (La Reunion Island, France). Their eruptive style ranges from Hawaiian to Strombolian, but their eruptive mechanisms are still not completely understood. To gain insight, we combined syn-eruptive field work, textural and geochemical measurements on the short-lived eruption of July 2015 and we compared it with the 2014 eruption, which opened the ongoing eruptive cycle at Piton de la Fournaise. Crystal-poor and moderately vesicular components were predominant at the beginning of the eruptions, during the lava flux peak and the Hawaiian-style activity. Their abundance decreased with time in favour of less vesiculated and crystal-rich components during the decrease of the lava flux and the Strombolian-style activity. Physical, textural and chemical characterization of the pyroclasts, as well as thermometry calculations, permit relating the different texture and chemical features of the eruptive products with the pre- and syn-eruptive processes. Geophysical precursors detected several weeks before the July 2015 eruption, as well as some evidences of magmatic reheating recorded in bulk and crystal compositions highlight that the July 2015 magma results from a pre-eruptive mixing between more and less differentiated magmas. We finally deduced that the observed syn-eruptive textural variations are related to the same batch of magma undergoing different cooling and degassing dynamics.

Unsettling Archaeology

In this introduction to the special issue, we examine some of the ways that settler colonialism permeates archaeology in Canada and argue for unsettling approaches to archaeology. Archaeology is a product of and remains a tool for settler colonialism, often oppressing both people of the past and people in the present, especially Indigenous People, Black People, People of Colour, and LGBTQ2S+ community members. We call for unsettling research paradigms, which aim to disrupt the settler colonial foundations that continue to permeate archaeological work and ensure that it benefits only a select few. Unsettling approaches target not only the work we do as archaeologists, but also the structures our work operates through, including universities, museums, different levels of government, and heritage policy and legislation governing private sector archaeology. They require us to acknowledge and confront our relationships to settler colonialism and the ways we participate in it, in all aspects of our lives. Unsettling paradigms play out differently within each project and for each participant, depending on individuals’ unique relationships to settler colonialism, their own experiences, and the context. As illustrated in the papers in this special issue, they encompass themes of truth, listening, learning, feeling, relinquishing control, and building strong futures. To move towards an archaeology that is anti-colonial, anti-racist, and anti-mysogynist, we must address the deeply embedded colonialism, racism, and misogyny in Canadian settler colonial structures and society. We must start by addressing them within ourselves and the institutions that govern and support our work. Because the unequal power relations within archaeology are so entrenched and pervasive, change may come slowly. It will involve long-term commitment to an ongoing cycle of learning, feeling (particularly when we feel uncomfortable), questioning, and most importantly, acting.

CUSTOMIZING STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT TO SUPPORT AGING IN PLACE

Geriatrics infusion and transformation of community-based settings to support “aging in place” is complex. It requires a customized approach that engages multiple stakeholders who are invested in systems redesign and process change. Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine’s NJ Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program, in partnership with an affordable housing facility operated by Fair Share Housing/Northgate II, and Rutgers University School of Nursing (RSoN), implemented a Resident Health Risk Assessment (RHRA) tool as part of an interprofessional community-based training experience for health professions students. The goal was to identify health risks that impact a resident’s ability to age in place and implement a person-centered intervention plan. Multi-level stakeholder engagement and ongoing rapid cycle quality improvement catalyzed changes in structure and process for all partners. Results included refinement of an interprofessional clinical rotation, introduction of competency attainment into the orientation process, and resource reallocation to support data collection.

Mapping the Evaluation of Problem-Oriented Pedagogies in Higher Education: A Systematic Literature Review

Problem-oriented pedagogies have emerged as strategic way for universities to respond to an international higher education agenda that increasingly prioritises innovative, student-centred learning, and the cultivation of both civic and employability competences. Alongside this pedagogic shift is a policy-driven emphasis on monitoring teaching and learning for quality assurance purposes. This article aims to untangle the ways problem- and inquiry-based pedagogies are currently evaluated in universities, and thus consider how ‘quality’ implementation, and the effects of this suite of pedagogic approaches, might be better understood, practised, and measured. Taking a systematic approach to the review of the literature, the article maps evaluation methods that assess the effectiveness of problem-oriented and inquiry-based pedagogies implemented in university settings. The key findings include that evaluation methods in the field (i) prioritise qualification-related outcomes, (ii) are limited in scale and scope, and (iii) often function as demonstrations of performativity rather than as part of an ongoing improvement cycle. The article argues that evaluations that take a multi-method approach from the perspective of a range of stakeholders, with an exploration of civic and social competences in addition to employability outcomes, would significantly strengthen the field.

Adult Children's Perspectives on Their Role in Their Parent's Hearing Healthcare Processes.

Communication partners play an important role in the hearing healthcare (HHC) process of the person with hearing impairment (HI). However, present research focuses mainly on the role of the spouse; the role of the adult child is often overlooked or understated. The aim of the study was to describe the role of the adult child in the HHC process of a parent with HI. Using a qualitative study design, participants described their role in their parents' HHC process and the impact of a parent's HI on their relationship and communication in individual semi-structured interviews. Twelve adult children of ten parents with HI participated; two sets of siblings were included to gain different perspectives on the HHC process within the same family. Thematic analysis, a qualitative method to explore participant's perceptions and viewpoints, was used as the method of analysis. The superordinate theme discussed most frequently by participants, communication management, was bolstered by three ideas or pillars: facilitating HHC, communication strategies, and encouraging hearing aid use. Adult children saw themselves as advocates or supporters of their parent's HHC by taking an ongoing and active role in promoting successful communication rather than a role in directing their parent's HHC actions. Within each pillar of communication management, participants' perceptions and actions were modulated by the varying levels of effort and a desire to ask questions to better understand how to help their parent, which in turn influenced their awareness of the HI and HHC options, often resulting in the adult child putting forth new effort. Whereas the patient journey is often presented to the patient as a linear process, the adult children instead viewed the process of communication management as an ongoing and continuous cycle. The audiologist should be encouraged to involve adult children in the HHC process, as adult children play an important role in everyday communication management.

Evaluation of the therapeutic potentials of adipose Derived stem cells in comparison to hyaluronic acid in temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis A multi assessment study

Objective: This study aims to assess the effectiveness of arthrocentesis followed by intraarticular injection of adipose derived stem cells versus hyaluronic acid in treatment of temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis and reversing the ongoing degenerative cascade. Evaluation was based on clinical radiographic and biochemical findings.Materials and Methods: The study included thirty patients suffering from TMJ/OA. Clinical criteria and Computerized Tomography (CT scan) confirmed the diagnosis. Patients were divided into two equal groups; both groups underwent arthrocentesis pursued by hyaluronic acid injection for Group I, and chondrogenic differentiated adipose derived stem cells for Group II. Synovial fluid samples were collected preoperative and at the end of the study (18 months) to assess the TGFβ1 concentration. Clinical data (maximal mouth opening, lateral, protrusive movements, pain and joint sounds) were collected at 3, 6, 12 and 18 months. CT scans were repeated at 18 months.Results: Group I showed initial improvement within clinical parameters but failed to sustain these results till the end of the study, no marked radiographic changes were noted. However, the TGF β1concentration showed significant decrease. Group II showed significant improvement within all parameters, Radiographic findings manifested remodeling of degenerative findings and TGFβ1 concentration was significantly decreased.Conclusion: Adipose derived stem cell is an effective therapeutic treatment for TMJ/OA. It subsided all related clinical dysfunction and abates the ongoing degenerative cycle.

Materialism in the United Arab Emirates

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the antecedents, cultivation, behaviours and consequences of materialism in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Given the UAE’s dramatic transformation into a developed and commercialised nation, such an investigation is highly warranted. Design/methodology/approach In this study, four focus groups and 25 in-depth interviews with UAE nationals were conducted. A conceptual model theorising the antecedents, cultivation, behaviours and consequences of materialism in the UAE emerged from a grounded theory analysis of the primary data and existing literature. Findings Rapid development, commercialisation and a substantial increase in new wealth have led to the development and socialisation of material values. Conspicuous and status consumption is creating an increasingly judgmental consumer society that is further cultivating material values in an ongoing cycle. Traditional Emirati values are also being expressed through materialistic displays. The consequences of materialism for the Emirati population include both positive and negative impacts on well-being, an increase in financial distress, delayed marriage and family conflict. Practical implications The model guides policy makers beyond constraining consumption via advertising and financial regulation towards breaking the cycles that cultivate harmful materialistic tendencies. The use of a more socio-cultural approach is recommended, which includes building self-esteem, resilience to judgements, use of cultural influencers, re-direction efforts and campaigns raising awareness and recognition of materialism as a social problem. Originality/value This is the first study to develop a comprehensive model of the antecedents, cultivation, behaviours and consequences of materialism in an emerging market.

Influence of past trauma and health interactions on homeless women's views of perinatal care: a qualitative study.

BackgroundHomeless women are twice as likely to become pregnant and are less likely to receive antenatal care than women who are not homeless. Prevalent biopsychosocial complexity and comorbidities, including substance use and mental illness, increase the risk of obstetric complications, postnatal depression, and child loss to social services.AimTo explore the perspectives of women who have experienced pregnancy and homelessness to ascertain how to improve perinatal care.Design and settingA qualitative study with a purposive sample of women who had experienced pregnancy and homelessness, recruited from three community settings.MethodSemi-structured interviews continued to data saturation and were recorded, transcribed, and analysed thematically using a self-conscious approach, with independent verification of emergent themes.ResultsEleven women, diverse in age (18–40 years) and parity (one to five children), participated. Most women had experienced childhood trauma, grief, mental illness, and substance use. Overarching themes of ‘mistrust‘ and ‘fear of child loss to social services’ (CLSS) influenced their interactions with practitioners. The women experienced stigma from practitioners, and lacked effective support networks. Women who mistrusted practitioners attended appointments but concealed their needs, preventing necessary care. Further themes were being seen to do ‘the best for the baby’; pregnancy-enabled access to necessary holistic biopsychosocial care; and lack of postnatal support for CLSS or parenting.ConclusionPregnancy offered a pivotal opportunity for homeless women to engage with care for their complex needs and improve self-care, despite mistrust of practitioners. Poor postnatal support and the distress of CLSS reinforced an ongoing cycle of grief, mental health crises, substance use relapse, and homelessness.

Distribution and Morphologies of Transverse Aeolian Ridges in ExoMars 2020 Rover Landing Site

Aeolian processes are believed to play a major role in the landscape evolution of Mars. Investigations on Martian aeolian landforms such as ripples, transverse aeolian ridges (TARs), and dunes, and aeolian sediment flux measurements are important to enhance our understanding of past and present wind regimes, the ongoing dust cycle, landscape evolution, and geochemistry. These aeolian bedforms are often comprised of loose sand and sharply undulating topography and thus pose a threat to mobility and maneuvers of Mars rovers. Here we present a first-hand account of the distribution, morphologies, and morphometrics of TARs in Oxia Planum, the recently selected ExoMars 2020 Rover landing site. The gridded mapping was performed for contiguous stretches of TARs within all the landing ellipses using 57 sub-meter high resolution imaging science experiment (HiRISE) scenes. We also provide the morphological descriptions for all types of TARs present within the landing ellipses. We use HiRISE digital terrain models (DTMs) along with the images to derive morphometric information for TARs in Oxia Planum. In general, the average areal TAR coverage was found to be 5.4% (±4.9% standard deviation), increasing from west to east within the landing ellipses. We report the average TAR morphometrics in the form of crest–ridge width (131.1 ± 106.2 m), down-wind TAR length (17.6 ± 10.1 m), wavelength (37.3 ± 11.6 m), plan view aspect ratio (7.1 ± 2.3), inter-bedform spacing (2.1 ± 1.1), slope (10.6° ± 6.1°), predominant orientations (NE-SW and E-W), and height (1.2 ± 0.8 m). While simple TARs are predominant, we report other TAR morphologies such as forked TAR, wavy TAR with associated smaller secondary ripples, barchan-like TAR, networked TAR, and mini-TARs from the region. Our results can help in planning the rover traverses in terms of both safe passage and scientific returns favoring aeolian research, particularly improving our understanding of TARs.

“Weird Melancholy” and the Modern Television Outback: Rage, Shame, and Violence in Wake in Fright and Mystery Road

In the middle of the nineteenth century, Marcus Clarke famously described the Australian outback as displaying a 'Weird Melancholy' (qtd. in Gelder 116). The strange sights, sounds, and experiences of Australia’s rural locations made them ripe for the development of the European genre of the Gothic in a new location, a mutation which has continued over the past two centuries. But what does it mean for Australia’s Gothic landscapes to be associated with the affective qualities of the melancholy? And more particularly, how and why does this Gothic effect (and affect) appear in the most accessible Gothic media of the twenty-first century, the television series? Two recent Australian television adaptations, Wake in Fright (2017, dir. Kriv Stenders) and Mystery Road (2018, dir. Rachel Perkins) provoke us to ask the question: how does their pictorial representation of the Australian outback and its inhabitants overtly express rage and its close ties to melancholia, shame and violence? More particularly, I argue that in both series this rage is turned inwards rather than outwards; rage is turned into melancholy and thus to self-destruction – which constructs an allegory for the malaise of our contemporary nation. However, here the two series differ. While Wake in Fright posits this as a never-ending narrative, in a true Freudian model of melancholics who fail to resolve or attend to their trauma, Mystery Road is more positive in its positioning, allowing the themes of apology and recognition to appear, both necessary for reparation and forward movement.

The Double Helix of Theory and Practice: Celebrating Stephen J. Goldberg as a Scholar, Practitioner, and Mentor

AbstractIn this tribute to the 2014 recipient of the International Association for Conflict Management's Rubin Theory‐to‐Practice Award recipient, we celebrate the multifaceted contributions of Stephen J. Goldberg. The contributors highlight the role that he has played as a mentor inspiring young scholars, as a champion for grievance mediation, a designer of dispute resolution systems including the enduring power–rights–interests framework, and as a scholar. The article closes with reflections from Steve Goldberg about the intertwined nature of theory and practice, the ongoing cycle in which each informs the other and in which each makes the other stronger.

Impact of rogue active regions on hemispheric asymmetry

The solar dipole moment at activity minimum is a good predictor of the strength of the subsequent solar cycle. Through a systematic analysis using a state-of-the-art 2×2D solar dynamo model, we found that bipolar magnetic regions (BMR) with atypical characteristics can modify the strength of the next cycle via their impact on the buildup of the dipole moment as a sunspot cycle unfolds. In addition to summarizing these results, we present further effects of such “rogue” BMRs. These have the ability to generate hemispheric asymmetry in the subsequent sunspot cycle, since they modify the polar cap flux asymmetry of the ongoing cycle. We found strong correlation between the polar cap flux asymmetry of cycle i and the total pseudo sunspot number asymmetry of cycle i+1. Good correlation also appears in the case of the time lag of the hemispheres of cycle i+1.

The role of educational psychologists in supporting nurture-based practices and policy development at a local and national level in Scotland: A position paper

AimsThis position paper illustrates how Educational Psychological Services (EPSs) have been instrumental through ever more systemic and universal ways of working to identify links between the needs within Scottish schools and targeted and universal nurturing approaches.MethodThis paper will initially demonstrate the appropriateness of a nurturing approach within a Scottish context, as a response to issues related both to mental health and to poverty. It will then continue by exploring how at both local and national levels, nurture-based practices have been embedded into policies and practice due to the influence of EPSs. It will demonstrate this through reference to the national context and the local authority (LA) level, using North Ayrshire Council (NAC) as an exemplar of how this can be achieved.FindingsThis paper will state that, while national and local policy have influenced the focus of EPSs’ priorities, so too has EPSs’ knowledge of psychology influenced national and local policy regarding nurturing approaches.LimitationsThis position paper is drawn from the Scottish education system and may not be fully representative of other contexts.ConclusionThere is an ongoing cycle of mutual influence, enabling the continual development of good practice within schools. This can offer a template of systemic working for the future development of the profession of the educational or ‘school psychologist’ on a wider scale.

Oxidative stress results in activation of several signal transduction pathways controlled by the PERK-substrate NRF2 (nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2); meanwhile the ongoing cell division cycle has to be blocked. It has been recently shown that Cyclin D1 got immediately down-regulated via PERK pathway in response to oxidative stress leading to cell cycle arrest. However, the effect of NRF2 on cell cycle regulation has not been explored yet. We aimed to reveal a crosstalk between PERK-substrate NRF2 and the key elements of cell cycle regulatory network upon oxidative stress using molecular biological techniques- Although Cyclin D1 level remained constant, its activity was blocked by various stoichiometric inhibitors (such as p15, p21 and p27) even at low level of oxidative stress. The activity of these CDK inhibitors completely disappeared, when the addition of oxidative agent was combined with silencing of either PERK or NRF2.This further confirms the important role of NRF2 in blocking Cyclin D1 with stoichiometric inhibitors at early stage of oxidative stress.
