Reactions of [Sn(CH 2CH 2CN) 4] and [Sn 2(CH 2CH 2CN) 6] with [Rh 2Cl 2(CO) 4] give pentanuclear complex [Sn{CH 2CH 2CNRhCl(CO) 2} 4] · CH 2Cl 2 ( 1) and hexanuclear compound [Sn 2{CH 2CH 2CNRhCl(CO) 2} 4(CH 2CH 2CN) 2] · CHCl 3 ( 2). In acetone solution complex 2 slowly decomposes giving [Rh 6(CO) 16] ( 3). X-ray structures of the compounds have been determined. In complexes 1 and 2 in the solid state square planar entities [NRhCl(CO) 2] relatively strongly interact giving one-dimensional and two-dimensional compounds. In complex 2 the ditin moiety possesses an unexpected eclipsed conformation.
