Preposterous Pricing: A Case of the Secondary Market for the Playstation 5

Volatile market conditions, likely caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, have caused a highly active secondary market for the Sony PlayStation 5 on online marketplaces since the console’s launch on 12th November 2020. Those who have purchased a console have found it profitable to resell it at premium prices on online auction websites, such as eBay. This research aims to use eBay’s online marketplace to gauge what factors impact consumers’ willingness to pay for the console in secondary markets. Our results show that aspects of console listings, such as the edition and included accessories, largely explain variation in final secondary market prices. Secondly, sellers’ reputation management does not appear to be crucial for business in online marketplaces.

Improving The Practice of Real Estate E-Auction in Malaysia: An Exploratory Study

Nowadays, internet auctions are employed instead of traditional auction procedures. This is attributed to information and computer technology advancements, e-commerce technologies, a vast catchment market, and other considerations. The online real estate auction has been used globally and in Malaysia. The High Court of Malaya now uses the E- Auction System for public real estate auctions in Malaysia. However, E- Auction practice in Malaysia has been asked to be discontinued since it interferes with the auctioneer's profession, and bidder data privacy has been compromised, potentially resulting in losses for bidders and others. This research aims to improve the current practice of real estate E- Auctions in Malaysia, with a particular emphasis on the High Court of Malaya E-Auction. Thus, the research objective to be met is to propose the improvements to the practice of real estate E-Auction in Malaysia. Meanwhile, the methodology for this research is based on primary data, which includes journal, book, conference, and seminar papers, by provides a set of questionnaires to the respondents from the public, bidders, and auctioneers themselves. The questionnaire was circulated using Google Forms, and two hundred fourteen (214) individuals participated in the survey as panel in the auction sector. The acquired data would be analysed using descriptive, crosstab, and content analysis. As a result, the research discovered a need to strengthen the auction industry, particularly the E-Auction System High Court of Malaya, in order to guarantee that the real estate auction sector remains relevant and contributes to Malaysia's economic development.

Analysis of the usability of selected auction websites

The selection and use of an e-commerce service can be conditioned by its properties such as ease of use, intuitiveness, productivity, offered functionalities, and aesthetic appeal. Within this study, the usability of three popular auction websites: eBay, Amazon, and Allegro, was examined. Selected interfaces of these websites and the ways in which users use them were analyzed. For this purpose, an experiment was prepared and conducted consisting of two parts: a survey and eye-tracking tasks. The obtained results indicate differences in usability among the websites. Suggestions provided by users show that despite the popularity of each of these well-known services, there are still some of their elements that require improvement and enhancement.

IMPROVING THE LEGAL REGULATION OF OBLIGATION RELATIONS IN INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE LAW

This article considers issues related to the need for the development and adoption of a separate code of Private International Law for the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the aim of regulating international private legal relations. It is proposed to include a dedicated chapter on “Obligatory Law” in the Code, which would cover the regulation of both contractual and non-contractual relations. An analysis of the legal acts of foreign countries in the field of Private International Law has been conducted. Based on this analysis, proposals and recommendations for improving the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan have been developed. Particular attention is paid to recommendations on the exclusion from the Civil Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan of the mandatory written form requirement for foreign economic transactions, which in turn will allow to conclude transactions through electronic means of communication and the use of artificial intelligence. Of course, except for cases requiring mandatory state or notarial registration. It is proposed to supplement the Code with provisions that determine the applicable law in cases where the parties have not made an explicit choice. In particular, this applies to various types of foreign economic transactions, such as guarantee contracts, distribution contracts, agency contracts, escrow contracts, factoring, and forfeiting, as well as contracts concluded within the framework of Internet auctions, Internet contests or Internet exchanges and contracts involving consumers. The necessity of determining the scope of the law applicable to obligations arising from the infliction of harm as well as expanding the definition of the applicable law arising from various obligations arising from the infliction of harm is substantiated.

An intelligent open trading system for on-demand delivery facilitated by deep Q network based reinforcement learning

On-demand delivery in urban areas has been growing rapidly in recent years. Nevertheless, on-demand delivery networks lack an efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly operative strategy. An open trading system equipped with on-line auctions provides an opportunity for increasing the efficiency of on-demand delivery systems. Reinforcement learning techniques that automate decision-making can facilitate the implementation of such complex and dynamic systems. This paper presents an on-line auction-based request trading platform embedded within an open trading system as a new scheme for carriers and shippers to trade on-demand delivery requests. The system is developed based on a multi-agent model, composed of carriers, shippers, and the on-line platform as autonomous agents. Deep Q network enabled reinforcement learning is used in the decision-making processes for the agents to optimise their behaviour in a dynamic environment. Numerical experiments conducted on the Melbourne metropolitan network demonstrate the effectiveness of the open trading system, which can provide benefits for all stakeholders involved in the on-demand delivery market as well as the entire system. The reinforcement learning enabled platform can gain more profit when there are more learning carriers. The results indicate that the intelligent open trading system with on-line auctions is a promising city logistics solution.

DIRECTIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF COASTAL AREA INFRASTRUCTURE IN NATAL SUB-DISTRICT, MANDAILING NATAL REGENCY, INDONESIA

The study highlights the critical need for infrastructure development in coastal areas to support the fisheries sector and services trade. Through various methods such as assessment of current conditions and literature review, it's clear that improving infrastructure is a top priority.Objectives: This study aims to identify the infrastructure that supports the development of coastal areas in Natal Sub-district, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatera, IndonesiaMethodology and Results: The research methods include descriptive analysis to identify existing infrastructure and importance-performance analysis to evaluate the importance and performance of infrastructure.The study results show that the infrastructure is divided according to its level of importance. First, within Quadrant I, infrastructure such as fish auction sites (TPI), village unit cooperatives (KUD), cold storage, and ice factories in the Natal coastal region stand out as the main focus. Recommendations include the revitalization of TPI and KUD, and the construction of cold storage facilities. Second, in Quadrant II, infrastructure such as transport support facilities, waste management, and sanitation require attention to maintain their performance. Third, in Quadrant III, gas station facilities in Sikara Kara Village are of medium-to-low priority. Finally, in Quadrant IV, infrastructure such as waste and drainage systems need to be reviewed. The revitalization of the Setia Karya dumpsite and the construction of a drainage system are part of the recommendations to improve Natal's coastal environment.Conclusion, Significance and implications: The improvement of coastal area infrastructure in Natal Sub-District, Mandailing Natal Regency, Indonesia emphasizes on addition, repair and revitalization. It is also recommended to strengthen the involvement of local and village governments in collaborative efforts. Further studies are needed, particularly on effective implementation of infrastructure development in the same research area.

Methods: The most impressing concept of online auction system is you don’t need to anywhere offline. It’s the system where you can bid online without investing your time and bid for particular products. Results: Using this system buyers, sellers come online and connect on web-portal using this system. Conclusion: In this system using this web- portal registered user can propose or bid for new auctions, purchase and place bid product in order to buy that item.

Quality Control of Skipjack Fish on Purse Seine Vessels at PPS Kutaraja

The research aims to analyze the handling system for skipjack tuna since the fish are caught until sold at the Kutaraja Ocean Fisheries Port (PPS) fish auction site (TPI). The researcher used descriptive methods, organoleptic tests, scoring analysis, and np control charts as study methods. The research results show that the handling of skipjack tuna at the Kutaraja PPS has yet to be optimal, which has an impact on reducing the quality of the fish. The handling process that did not comply with the established procedures occurred from when the fish was put on the boat until it landed at PPS Kutaraja. The results of organoleptic tests, scoring analysis, and np control charts indicated a decrease in fish quality during the handling process. All ships based at PPS Kutaraja are not equipped with freezer cooling machines. The cooling process only relies on a very limited amount of ice blocks to maintain the quality of the fish during the fishing operation. Very limited use of ice cubes will trigger a decline in fish quality. Increasing hatch room temperatures also cause a significant decrease in organoleptic values and faster rigor mortis times for fish.

Serological Evidence of Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever in Livestock in the Omaheke Region of Namibia.

This research examined the positivity ratio of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) antibodies in cattle and sheep within Namibia's Omaheke region after a human disease outbreak in the same geographical area. A total of 200 samples (100 cattle and 100 sheep) were randomly collected from animals brought to two regional auction sites, and then tested using the ID Screen® CCHF Double Antigen Multi-Species Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay kit. Of the cattle samples, 36% tested positive, while 22% of the sheep samples were seropositive. The cattle had a significantly higher positivity ratio than sheep at the individual animal level (p = 0.0291). At the herd level, 62.5% of cattle herds and 45.5% of sheep flocks had at least one positive animal, but this difference was statistically insignificant (p = 0.2475). The fourteen cattle farms with at least one seropositive animal were dispersed across the Omaheke region. In contrast, the ten sheep farms with seropositive cases were predominantly situated in the southern half of the region. The study concluded that the CCHF is endemic in the Omaheke region and likely in most of Namibia, underscoring the importance of continued surveillance and preventive measures to mitigate the impact of CCHFV on animal health and potential spillover into human populations.
