AN EFFICIENT METHOD TO EVALUATE AND ENHANCE SPORT JUDGES’ PERFORMANCE DURING COMPETITION: A CASE STUDY IN ACROBATIC GYMNASTICS

Who judges the gymnastics judges? How do we measure their accuracy and concordance? How do we know if the judging process is fair? The superior jury has this responsibility. However, they normally lack time to provide effective feedback during competitions. Using macro functions to process statistical and mathematical statements, we designed and validated an automated Excel-based tool called the Automatic Acrobatic Gymnastics Judges Individual Report Tool to evaluate judges’ performances quickly and easily during competition, automatically creating and exporting individual reports showing each judge’s accuracy and concordance performance on a daily basis, rather than after the competition is ended. We present empirical data for 76 experienced international judges evaluating acrobatic gymnastics routines in four major official events. A total of 1240 individual reports were analyzed and sent confidentially to the judges during the competition, and 952 were analyzed to evaluate whether this feedback was effective in improving judges’ performance during the competition. The tool provides efficient and easily understood evidence-based feedback on acrobatic gymnastics judges’ performance during competition, quickly and automatically creating, analyzing and sending individualized information to judges, thus helping with specific Technical Committee scoring control tasks during competitions. We suggest that judges' performances remain high or are enhanced after receiving daily evaluation during major competition events.

SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL PUBLIC POLICY FOR THE AMAZON BIOME: AN ESSAY OF THE PROAMBIENTE-POLO RIO CAPIM PROGRAM IN THE AMAZON OF PARÁ

From the 1990s onwards, the debate around environmental issues became increasingly present throughout the world. In this sense, the United Nations report entitled “Our Common Future”, known as the “Brundtland Report”, released in 1987, and the so-called United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (ECO-92), held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 (FILHO-MONTIBELLER, 2001), were two events of global notoriety, in which the search for a new form of development became evident, expressed not only by environmentalists, but also by social movements. Many proposals of a socio-environmental nature were triggered from the context of society's discussion about development. The COP-30 itself, to be held in Belém-PA, was not just a forum organized under the leadership of the United Nations, it represents a historic moment where the various matrices of the global environmental movement express themselves in parallel to the official event when the idea of ​​sustainable development is based on new premises of a guiding agenda for public policies.

The paper deals with the study of nomination mechanisms in current usage of the units which denote social events. The material of the study embodies the texts of the Ukrainian media discourse (the period of the end of 20th –– the early 21th century). An object of the analysis in the paper is a point segment of the language world-image which is formed by the functioning and semantics of two lexemes ukr. zakhid «a measure, an official event» and ukr. aktsiia «a planned, public social occasion, an event».

Symbolic Communication of the Tuntung Pandang (Kondang) Skullcap as a Regional Symbol of Tanah Laut Regency

This study collected data through analysis of the Tanah Laut Regency news portal which reviewed the Regent's use of the Tuntung Pandang skullcap at various official events. A qualitative approach was used to explore the symbolic meanings contained in this skullcap and how society received and communicated these meanings. The research results show that the Tuntung Pandang Kopiah is not just traditional clothing or a symbol of formality, but is also an important marker of cultural identity for the people of Tanah Laut. This symbol contains values ​​such as tradition, authority, and courage which are closely related to the position of Regent. This research provides a new contribution by describing the complex relationship between the symbol (Tuntung Pandang skullcap), the object (Regent of Tanah Laut), and the community's interpretation or understanding of the symbol. Through the approach of Peirce's semiotic theory and Ogden and Richards' Triangle Theory, this research highlights that cultural symbols not only have aesthetic value but are also an important tool in building the social and cultural identity of a community. This research also explores the meanings implicit in the use of symbols and how these symbols play a role in building identity and social solidarity in local communities.. Despite the fact that the history of the Russian merchants has been of great interest to researchers for more than two decades, there are still little studied aspects in this area, including the «ceremonial» side of the public life of representatives of the merchant class. This area of research activity seems very promising, as it can significantly complement the sociocultural portrait of the merchant class. The purpose of this paper is to recreate the picture of the participation of the merchants of the Vologda province in festive and solemn events as an important part of public life in the second half of the XIX century. Based on the «Vologda Provincial Gazette» for 1861-1899, using the methods of formalizing and systematizing historical data, such components of the «ceremonial» side of the public life of the local merchants as the celebration of important dates related to the Romanov House; accompanying members of the imperial family who visited the province; participation in official events organized by the Governor; Clubs membership were identified. The published materials indicate that the merchants took an active part in local celebrations dedicated to the events from the life of merchants, as well as provided significant financial support to the related various charitable initiatives. The most important events of the provincial authorities could not do without representatives of the merchant class. Besides, in the second half of the XIX century, the general urban leisure space for a wide range of people, including merchants, began to take shape. These aspects nevertheless allow us to outline the main facets of the «ceremonial» side of the public life of the merchants of the Vologda province in the second half of the XIX century and set directions for further research.

Adaptive Shooting Disciplines: A Scoping Review of the Literature with Bibliometric Analysis.

Para-archery and para-shooting, two very popular adaptive shooting disciplines that have earned their place as major official events in the Paralympic Games, share some similarities, as well as distinctive features in terms of rules, physiological requirements, and equipment used. The International Paralympic Committee has a clear responsibility to ensure that all sports within its jurisdiction, including adaptive shooting, can achieve excellence in their respective fields. To achieve this, the conduct of well-designed studies and rigorous research is essential. Although some research has been conducted in this area, a comprehensive and systematic evaluation is still needed. Therefore, the present study aims to provide a thorough review and synthesis of existing research on adaptive shooting disciplines, identify strengths and gaps, and suggest future directions. Arksey and O'Malley's methodology is leveraged and enhanced with bibliometric and policy analyses to review literature on adaptive shooting. Databases like PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, OvidSP, and EMBASE were searched, focusing on studies in adaptive shooting disciplines and analysing these findings through a blend of thematic and statistical methods. Twenty-four studies totalling 483 para-athletes (299 para-shooters and 184 para-archers) are included in this scoping review, focusing on a range of aspects, including physiological responses (n = 9), research design and measurement methods for evidence-based classification (n = 6), biopsychosocial aspects (n = 3), development of new methods and technologies (n = 4), kinematic and biomechanical assessment (n = 1), and epidemiology of injuries (n = 1). Seven articles focused exclusively on para-archery, thirteen exclusively on para-shooting, and four on both para-archery and para-shooting. In conclusion, the available literature on adaptive shooting disciplines is still very limited, especially regarding para-archery compared to para-shooting. This highlights the need for further research in many key areas to ensure a better understanding of the different disciplines and to provide appropriate support for para-athletes. Future research in para-archery and para-shooting should focus on technological innovations, biomechanical studies, and psychological support to enhance athlete performance and accessibility. Addressing the imbalance between the two disciplines, along with injury prevention and global participation, can drive the sports towards greater inclusivity and equity for para-athletes worldwide.

In the context of communication needs in public spaces, the role of a Master of Ceremony (MC) is currently considered very important, not only for informal events, but also for very formal events. It is said that because in official events, the MC is the spearhead who delivers or guides the event, from the opening to the closing of the event. Based on this idea, Master of Ceremony (MC) training for important official events is given to all parties who have an interest in this, including teachers at SD IT Ar Royan Padang. The official MC training activity was given to six teachers at SD IT Ar Royan through lecture methods and practical methods or performance for two days. After completing the training, it was clear that there were three main problems faced by the six training participants, namely a) their ability to manage their vocals was not optimal; b) body language that is not in accordance with the performance needs of an MC at an official event; and c) inadequate mastery of Indonesian grammar. The implication of the results of this activity is that it is important for SD IT Ar Royan to hold similar training activities with more varied methods and approaches.

The interpreters of Ainu language in the lands of Ezo in the 17<sup>th</sup> – 18<sup>th</sup> centuries (based on Japanese archive materials)

This article, based on Japanese sources, discusses the question of how the Ainu language interpreters’ guild was formed, what functions translators performed, and how their status changed in the period from the 17th to the 18th centuries. During this time, Japan pursued the policy of self-isolation, and all contacts with the outside world were closely controlled by the government. However, in the places where contact with foreign culture did occur, interpreters were needed. So, there were interpreters of Chinese, Korean, and Dutch languages. In the island of Hokkaido, where trade with the local Ainu took place, the interpreters of Ainu language were needed. In this article, the history of Ainu language interpreters and their first appearance is researched based on Japanese archive materials. The research also focuses on the functions the interpreters performed and their status in Japanese society at the time. There was a separate category of interpreters of the Ainu language in Matsumae, who were involved exclusively in important official events of the Matsumae clan. Their functions and positions in society, as well as the first mentions of Ainu language experts who succeeded in their profession, are also examined in detail. Particular attention is paid to the status and functions of the interpreters of the Ainu language in Ezo at the beginning of the 18th century, when a new basho trading system was introduced in Japan. The subject of the Ezo interpreters’ level of command of the Ainu language is also in the focus of the research. The study mentions the attempts to compile the first dictionaries of the Ainu language and the difficulties that came with it. The author concludes that the functions of interpreters of the Ainu language have undergone tremendous changes. In the 17th century, the services of interpreters were used only for the occasions of trade, as well as ceremonies of welcoming or escorting a ship. By the end of the 18th century, they stood at the forefront of the Japanese control of the Ainu. Their rights and obligations were so extensive that, in fact, they, as representatives of local authorities, completely controlled the Ainu people.

The Marriage of Sport and Art:The Forgotten Olympic Art Competitions (1912-1948)

Since their inception, the Olympic Movement and the arts have always gone hand in hand and complemented each other. In the early years of the modern Olympic movement (1912-1948), the Muse Pentathlon was an official event of the Olympic Games. However, the question of how to organize such an artistic event in sport and how to evaluate artistic competitions in artistic events of the same period remains a question of great significance. Using historical research, case studies and comparative studies, this paper explores the interaction between the Olympics and the arts and the IOC’s understanding of Olympic culture by focusing on the IOC’s official practice of organizing art competitions and planning exhibitions, and by combining it with the historical background of art competitions held in the first half of the twentieth century and art salon events of the same period. The research resources are based on official IOC reports, conference documents, newspapers, art exhibition brochures, Coubertin’s own works and memoirs, and other primary documents and images.

Effect of table tennis balls with different materials and structures on the hardness and elasticity.

The new material introduced by the ITTF in 2014 for table tennis balls has attracted significant attention from players and coaches. Changes in both material selection and production procedures are likely to have affected the static performance of the ball. However, the raw data regarding the elasticity and hardness of these new material balls, encompassing various brands and structures, often lacks practical information crucial for players' rapid adaptation and daily training. The static properties tested in this study were provided by the ITTF, covering both hardness and elasticity. Based on computed variables, this study revealed that the hardness of seam balls at the equator was not consistently higher than that at the pole. Additionally, the study confirmed that the hardness and bounce height of new material balls exceeded those of celluloid. Furthermore, correlation analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between these two properties, revealing a significant correlation between the hardness of seamless balls and their elasticity. This study provides an analysis of the static performance of various types of new material balls, aiding players and coaches in better understanding official event balls and offering a theoretical foundation for the formulation of diverse training and game strategies.

The East Java MUI's appeal, addressed specifically to officials not to say interfaith greetings at official events, has become controversial and polemic in many circles. From cyberspace to the real world, this issue is widely discussed. Apart from the many parties who are against this appeal, there are also quite a few parties who are pro. People who oppose this appeal argue that the interfaith greeting, which has long been practiced by officials when delivering remarks or speeches at official events which are not only attended by Muslims but also adherents of other religions, is an attitude of tolerance. between religious communities and has become a culture. Because human nature is to always want to live in goodness and peace. To realize this nature of mutual peace, a practical relationship is needed that can bring all humans together in a state of calm and peace. So that the word greeting becomes a prayer that humans are granted protection from all disasters and dangers that can befall them.

In This study, we sought to examine the current status of local council public service overseas training with a focus on laws and regulations and suggest improvement measures to ensure integrity and reliability.
 First, in the preliminary stage, effectiveness must be secured by strengthening the pre-deliberation process in the preliminary stage. The ratio of civilian members must be at least 60% to ensure fairness and integrity in the review. In addition, prior study is necessary for practical overseas training in public affairs. Second, at the implementation stage, the basic principles and behavior matters to be observed by local council members during overseas training for public service should be stipulated in ordinances so that they can fully understand the purpose during the overseas training for public service. Third, in the follow-up stage, the review committee conducts an evaluation of the result report, and in the case of an unfair or seriously poor business trip result report (including lack of schedule compliance and accounting fraud), it must be stipulated that the chairman can request disciplinary action from the ethics special committee. In addition, lawmakers who have been on overseas official business trips must ensure fairness and integrity by informing local residents and the National Assembly of the results report within a certain period of time through official events Fourth, as another measure, it is necessary for local councils to enact and operate regulations on overseas training for civil servants stipulated by rules or ordinances in order to ensure responsibility and integrity for overseas training for civil servants.

The trend of Japanese pop culture and its differentiating approach through event tourism

PurposeThis study focuses on analysing Japanese pop culture events to determine whether they may be useful marketing tools for a location with a distinctive culture from where they are organized. It also examines how the popular culture events differ from other events and what impacts they have on these destinations.Design/methodology/approachA mixed-method approach is used to analyse data from a questionnaire provided to 364 participants from these events and seven semi-structured interviews with event organizers or their representatives from events on this topic in Portugal, France, Spain, Denmark and North America.FindingsAccording to the research, these events are regarded as unique and unusual from the perspective of the customer due to the variety of activities they offer, the use of imagination they inspire and the engaged fan participation. These occasions have been found to strengthen and propagate Japanese popular culture outside of its place of origin and arouse interest in it.Originality/valueSeveral studies have examined the appeal of Japanese pop culture, but few have investigated the impact of events to enhance the destination's image where they are held, as well as their potential outside of Japan. With already over a hundred official events of this theme held annually, with a sizable number of participants, a study of this paradigm exposes its potential for promoting a culture that is growing in popularity outside of its place of origin and understanding the effects it has on these various regions.

Remotely Controlled Electronic Goalkeeper: An Example of Improving Social Integration of Persons with and without Disabilities

Social integration is an essential part of the life of every human being, but for people with disabilities, there are many situations in which it is still very low. For instance, in sports and outdoor gaming, there is a barrier between players with and without disabilities. Individuals with disabilities play sports almost exclusively with disabled players, not only during official events such as Paralympic games but also in occasional sports groups, while the mixing of people with and without disabilities in sports activities is a key factor of social inclusion. In order to allow a person with motor-skill impairments to play on the same ground as their non-disabled peers, we developed a novel piece of Assistive Technology that lets a person with motor-skill impairments to control a system acting as a goalkeeper during a non-professional football match, with approximately the same performances as a goalkeeper without motor-skill impairments. This electro-mechanical system is composed of a three-meter-long metal guideline and a human-shaped dummy sliding along it. The system is equipped with a high-torque battery-powered direct-current motor and it is controlled by means of electronic boards and sensors to ensure safety and good usability also for players with severe mobility impairments. The results of a pilot testing demonstrated the robustness and high degree of usability of the system, enabling people with motor-skill impairments to competitively participate in matches with non-disabled peers.

International Scientific Cooperation in the Arctic among the BRICS Countries

This article summarises the characteristics of the current platform for BRICS scientific research and cooperation in the Arctic. The BRICS countries’ activities for the development of the Arctic region are analysed. The Arctic cooperation platform is explored through an analysis of official documents, a review of ongoing official events. The BRICS countries are implementing relevant joint projects to develop and explore the Arctic, on the one hand realising their own needs, and on the other using the specific advantages of their economic systems. From time to time, they organise and hold multilateral meetings and conferences. However, most cooperation takes place in a bilateral format. It is based on the organisation of conferences, cooperation between research institutes and joint training. This helps the BRICS countries to expand their influence in the Arctic. Based on an analysis of the identified materials, including projects developed to date but not yet implemented, the author seeks to summarise the main characteristics and features of BRICS Arctic cooperation and to identify its strengths and weaknesses. The conclusions of the paper present relevant proposals for improving the effectiveness of the BRICS countries’ joint work on the Arctic agenda in the medium term.

Features of the external cultural policy of the Italian Republic in the countries of the post-Soviet space (on the example of the relations between Italy and Uzbekistan)

The active development of international relations in the conditions of globalization provokes an increase of the interest towards the individual countries. In this context there occurs a shift in the emphasis within the framework of the state's foreign policy towards attracting political interest in the country through the mechanisms of "soft power". The author examines the features of the Italian external cultural policy and observes its resources which are promoted within the framework of creating a positive image of Italy in the Asian countries, in particular, in Uzbekistan as a post-Soviet space country. Novelty of the research consists in the necessity of an overview of activities of Italian official actors promoting a positive image of a country taking into consideration the apparent shift of the vector of international relations and cultural diplomacy towards the Central Asia region accured with the arrival of a new decade of the XXI century. It also leands to the implementing different approaches of the "soft power" policy depending on the country of presence. With the use of general scientific methods such as analysis and interpretation of information and forecasting, it becomes possible to present a detailed consideration of the components of Italian national culture and the official events conducted by official actors of the Italian external cultural policy. The article is also aimed at finding out the approaches of choosing platforms for promoting the identified resources of the Italian "soft power". The study reveals the Italian culture components promoted in Uzbekistan, studies the directions and spheres they are present and evaluate the prospects for work in the furtherance of the Italian "soft power" resources promoted within the external cultural policy of the Italian Republic in the region of Central Asia.
