Hoffmannina Brennan and Jones 1959 is redescribed. New species are H. dianneae off Rhipidomys macconnelli, Venezuela; H. haramotoi, holotype off Liomys sp., Mexico; H. libita, holotype off Reithrodontomys sumichrasti, Panama; H. mahuensis, holotype off Cryptotis thomasi, Venezuela. A key to the seven included species is given. The Neotropical genus Hoffmannina Brennan and Jones 1959 was established for Novotrombicula suriana Hoffmann 1954. A second species, H. handleyi Brennan and Jones 1961, was added, to be followed by H. reedi Brennan 1972. Four more species are now described and illustrated below. Hoffmannina dianneae, libita, and mahuensis spp. n. were collected under the direction of Dr. Charles 0. Handley, Smithsonian Institution, Dr. Vernon J. Tipton, Brigham Young University, and/or Dr. Conrad E. Yunker, Rocky Mountain Laboratory, supported by a U.S. Army contract (DA-49-193-MD-2788) with the Smithsonian Institution; H. haramotoi was collected under the direction of Dr. Fritz S. Lukoschus, Katholieke Universiteit, Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Hoffmannina Brennan and Jones Hoffmannina Brennan and Jones, 1959, Ann Entomol Soc Am 52: 8.
