Authentic Leadership in Nursing From 2006 to 2022: A Bibliometric Analysis and Visualization Analysis

Objectives: In this study, we analyzed the structure of publications on authentic leadership in nursing through bibliometric analysis. Methods: This is a descriptive bibliometric study. We collected date on August 15, 2023 from the Web of Science and used Excel and VOSviewer for analysis. Results: The search strategy yielded 136 documents authored by 363 researchers from 37 countries, published by 54 journals spanning 2006 to 2022. Research on authentic leadership in the nursing field has exhibited several key trends: (1) significant growth, particularly in the last 5 years; (2) primary contributions from scholars in a select number of countries; (3) limited collaboration among countries, institutions and authors; and (4) a predominant focus on nurse-centered topics such as job satisfaction and burnout, which have held a prominent place in the field. Conclusions: The number of publications on authentic leadership in the nursing field is limited. Future research should encourage greater collaboration among countries and authors. Simultaneously, there is a need to explore patient-centered topics, especially in fundamental care, within authentic leadership research in the nursing field.

A review of the most influential research papers on COVID-19: An excerpt with comments and insights

For the past two years, COVID-19 has been a global nightmare for human civilization. It genuinely poses a serious threat to public health because of its rapid proliferation. The deadly SARS-COV-2 virus is being researched on a global scale to determine its biology, origin, and potential treatment. Numerous research publications covering various aspects of the COVID-19 issue have already been published as a result of the burgeoning interest in this hot topic. The reputable and well-known search engine SCOPUS is used to compile crucial information. In order to emphasize a thorough and extensive assessment of research output using COVID-19 publications, we looked at 100 research and review papers that received the majority of citations. It discovers a list of keywords that appear more than 14 times. It can be seen that the terms "Human/Humans," "Coronavirus Disease 2019," "Coronavirus Infection/Coronavirus Infections," "Pneumonia viral," and "Virus pneumonia" held the top five positions. The New England Journal of Medicine is in the first place, having published 15 research papers delineating different features of SARS-CoV-2. In addition to this, a significant number of publications connected to the Covid-19 issue were also published in "The Lancet," "Nature," "JAMA Journal of the American Medical Association," and "Cell." Regarding papers published on COVID-19, China is also performing well. The USA and the UK placed second and third, respectively, in terms of the quantity of Covid-related articles published. This work outlines a detailed global research scenario of COVID-19 describing its origin, nature, identification, way of entry in a human cell, symptoms of the infected patients, way of prevention, fatal effects on comorbid and aged patients with the help of correlation between comorbidity and mortality, the effect of on newborn baby and children, the emergence of telemedicine, persistence of the virus on inanimate things, the efficacy of drugs like remdesivir, lopinavir, ritonavir and so on, the progress of vaccine development, usefulness gloves, masks, sanitizer, the advantage of maintaining physical and social distance, infrastructure development. Finally, we conclude by summarizing the main points of the 100 research papers, which will undoubtedly aid in identifying the research gap and future research directions.

Mapping current trends and hotspots in myasthenia gravis from 2003 to 2022: a bibliometric analysis.

Research on myasthenia gravis (MG) has undergone rapid development in recent years. This article aimed to elucidate the characteristics of MG publications over the past 20 years and analyze emerging trends using bibliometric methods. Information on MG articles was obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection and stored in Excel for quantitative analyses. Bibliometric analyses were performed using CiteSpace and VOSviewer to visualize publications according to countries/regions, institutions, journals, and authors. A total of 3,610 publications were included in the analysis. The USA had the highest number of publications (NP) and H-index. Among the institutions, the University of Oxford had the highest NP, followed by the University of Toronto and Duke University. Close cooperation was observed among countries and institutions. The most productive author was Renato Mantegazza, followed by Jan J. Verschuuren, and Amelia Evoli. Muscle & Nerve published the most articles on MG, followed by the Journal of Neuroimmunology and Neuromuscular Disorders. The keyword with the highest strength is "neuromuscular transmission," followed by "safety" and "rituximab." Co-citation analysis includes 103 publications cited at least 65 times, categorized into four clusters. Additionally, 123 keywords cited more than 40 times were analyzed and divided into five clusters. This bibliometric analysis shows the framework of research over the past 20 years by mapping the scholarly contributions of various countries or regions, institutions, journals, and authors in MG. The analysis also explores future trends and prospective directions, emphasizing individualized treatment based on subtypes, novel immunotherapeutic approaches, and thymectomy.

Emerging trends in silicosis research: a scientometric review.

Silicosis is a global disease whose prevention efforts cannot be ignored today. Although numerous silicosis-related data have been published recently, emphasizing the characteristics and nature of silicosis, a summary of the developmental laws of research is lacking, especially in the visual analysis of the literature. We aim to address this issue through a scientometric review. The Web of Science Core Collection and the All Databases were searched with "silicosis" as the topic, excluding unrelated publications, and obtained data from 9802 and 1613 publications, respectively. The data was then analyzed using the Web of Science's online scientometric analysis function and CiteSpace's visual analysis functionality, including publication volume analysis, co-occurrence analysis, co-citation analysis, cluster analysis, and explosive detection. The results identify the "respiratory system" as the most influential area over a century. Furthermore, the publication's number was correlated with the gross domestic product. We ranked countries and institutions based on the frequency of publications and discovered that Europe, the USA, and China are the leading regions for silicosis research, with the USA and Europe having a stronger influence. Many reports related to artificial stone and denim jean production have been studied through citation analysis, indicating new epidemic trends in silicosis. Besides, silicosis-related diseases and the pathogenesis of silicosis were the research hotspots of silicosis through co-occurrence keyword analysis and outbreak detection. Furthermore, related diseases include coal workers' pneumoconiosis and tuberculosis, while the mechanism of silicosis includes studies on inflammation and fibrosis, oxidative stress, alveolar macrophages, apoptosis, and pathways.

The PhotoVoice method in Science, Social, and Environmental Education

PhotoVoice, which enables students to take an active role, has started to be used in schools byenvironmental, social, and science educators. In this context, this study was conducted to analyze the useof the PhotoVoice method in science, social, and environmental education studies. To collect data, Web ofScience (WoS) was selected as the source. As a database, it is one of the most used resources by allresearchers, including many disciplines. It was tried to reach all the resources related to PhotoVoice. Only“#PhotoVoice” was used as a keyword. But English was selected as the language. As a result, 2690documents were reached. All data was then downloaded as Tab Delimited File and saved in a format of .txtfile. Secondly, the process of selecting documents related to education was followed. For this, the txt filesare transferred into an Excel file and saved. Afterward, documents related to education (science, socialscience and environmental) were selected (N=88). Research finding showed that although PhotoVoice iswidely used in the fields of environmental education (f=38, 43.2%) and social sciences (f=39, 44.3%), ithas been used at a very low rate in science (f=11, 12.5%). However, the majority of the documents werepublished as articles (f=81, 92%). Review studies (f=7, 8%) were published in the fields of environmentaleducation and social sciences. As of 2008, studies in the field of education have started to be published.Between 2008 and 2010, PhotoVoice studies in environmental education were published. The number ofpublications has increased in recent years, especially after 2017. The highest number of publications wasreached in 2020 (f=23, 26.14%) and 2021 (f=19, 21.59), whereas the decrease was determined in 2022(f=11, 12.5%). The distribution of publications by years and fields tends to increase towards environmentaleducation and social sciences. Furthermore, PhotoVoice studies widely used in environmental educationare in sustainability (28.21%), climate change (15.38%), environmental education (10.26%), and ecosystemservices (7.69%), respectively.

Bibliometric profile of global research on millets

To commemorate the International Year of the Millet (IYOM2023), an effort was made to study the bibliometric profile of globalresearch on millets. A total of 5315 references of journal articles weredownloaded from PubMed (NLM) using the common name and thescientific name of nine prominent millets as the keywords appearingin the title. The number of publications steadily increased over theyears with the highest rate of increase during 2010-20. Sorghumfollowed by pearl millet and foxtail millet received the highest numberof publications. Overall, the USA, India and China produced 1287,1192 and 886 articles, respectively. Interestingly, almost all studieson “Browntop millet”,”Barnyard millet”,”Little millet” and “Kodomillet” were concentrated in India. Among the different areas ofresearch, “Stress”, “Nutrition” and “Breeding” were pursued in 971,819 and 741 studies, respectively. These studies indicate a great futurescope to employ both conventional and innovative next-generationbreeding methods on a large germplasm accession pool availableworldwide to overcome the challenges emerging from climate changeand malnutrition

Worldwide research trends on femur head necrosis (2000-2021): a bibliometrics analysis and suggestions for researchers.

Osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is a common and stubborn disease. The main causes are venous stasis of the femoral head, arterial blood supply damage, bone cell and bone marrow death, and bone tissue necrosis and subsequent repair obstacles. Over the past 22 years, the number of papers on ONFH has, overall, continued to increase. Using bibliometrics, we investigated the trends, frontiers, and hotspots of global scientific output in the past 22 years. We searched Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) and retrieved information associated with papers and records published between 2000 and 2021. We used VOSviewer and CiteSpace to conduct bibliometric analysis and visual analysis on the overall distribution of annual output, major countries, active institutions, journals, authors, commonly cited literature, and keywords. The impact and quality of the papers were assessed using the global citation score (GCS). We retrieved a total of 2006 articles and reviews. Over the past 22 years, the number of publications (NP) increased. China ranked first in terms of NP, while the United States had the highest h-index and the highest number of citations (NC). Shanghai Jiao Tong University and International Orthopaedics were the institution and periodical, respectively. The paper written by Mont et al. in 2006 had the highest total GCS score, at 379. The top three keywords were "ischemic necrosis", "osteonecrosis", and "hip joint". Although there was a fluctuation in publications associated with ONFH, overall, the NP increased. China was the most prolific in this area, while the United States was the most influential country. The top 3 authors in terms of NP were Zhang, Motomura, and Zhao. Areas of focus in ONFH over recent years include signal pathway, genetic differentiation, glucocorticoid-induced osteogenesis, induced ischemic necrosis and osteogenesis. Our bibliometrics analysis revealed the research hotspots and rapid development trends of ONFH research in the past 22 years. The most critical indicators [researchers, countries, research institutions, and journals publishing osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) research] relevant to the research hotspots in the field of ONFH research were analyzed.

Across the Twitter-verse: Is Twitter an equitable tool in academic medicine? A scoping review.

The goal of this study wasto investigate what is known about the demographic characteristics of Twitter influencers in academic medicine. We conducted a literature search and scoping review exploring the demographic characteristics of Twitter influencers in academic medicine. Included studies evaluated Twitter influence by any metric and reported associated demographic characteristics. There were no date or language restrictions. Data points included metrics of influence, demographics, and study characteristics. From 1656 records, thirteen met inclusion criteria. Influence was variably defined based on followers, measures of centrality, measures of engagement, or through third-party software. Studies were conducted at single time points and relied heavily on facial recognition for classification of sex or gender, with no studies exploring race as a variable of interest. Twitter influencers in academic medicine were found to be disproportionately male:significantly fewer influencers were female at all levels of professional status. Two studies identified more female influencers among trainee populations. Female users were less likely to develop influence based on followers, retweets, likes, or other measures of engagement at academic meetings, despite equal or greater representation at these meetings. Results on associations between Twitter influence and number ofpublications or h-index varied considerably. No included studies explored race or ethnicity in relation to Twitter influence, which presents a significant gap in the literature.Our findings highlight the need for larger, user-engaged studies of inequities related to social media influence in academic medicine, especially as social media is increasingly incorporated into academic portfolios.

Bibliometric analysis of tumor necrosis factor in post-stroke neuroinflammation from 2003 to 2021.

Tumor necrosis factor (TNF), a crucial cytokine, has important research value in post-stroke neuroinflammation (PSN). We analyzed the studies that have been conducted in this area and used bibliometric methods to predict research hotspots and identify trends regarding TNF in PSN. Publications were accessed at the Science Citation Index Expanded 1975-2021 (SCI expanded), Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC), on May 1, 2022. Additionally, software such as CiteSpace and VOSviewer were utilized for bibliometric analyses. In total, 1391 original articles and reviews on TNF in PSN published from 2003 to 2021 were identified. An upward trend was observed in the number of publications on TNF in PSN. These publications were primarily from 57 countries and 1446 institutions, led by China and the United States with China leading the number of publications (NP) and the US with the number of citations (NC). The League of European Research Universities (LERU) and Journal of Neuroinflammation, respectively were the most prolific branches and journals. Zhang, John H. published the most papers and Finsen, Bente had the most cited papers. One paper by Kettenmann, H. published in 2011 reached the highest level of Global Citation Score (GCS). The keyword co-occurrence and reference co-citation analyses suggest that poststroke therapy and potential mechanistic pathways are important topics related to PSN in recent years. Reference burst detection suggests new burst hotspots after 2015, focusing on pathway modulation and discovery of therapeutic targets, suggesting a substantial development in the study of TNF in PSN research. The present bibliometric analysis shows a continuous trend of increasing literature related to TNF in PSN, and shows that TNF plays an important role in PSN involves multiple immune mechanisms and may contribute as a potential target for neuroprotective therapeutics after stroke. Prior to 2011, most of the research was focused on discovering the specific role of TNF in PSN, and in recent years studies have mainly targeted the exploration of the signaling pathways. Future research prospects may lie in finding key therapeutic targets in pathway of TNF in PSN.

Bibliometric analysis of global research on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and health risk between 2002 and 2021.

During the last 20years, the association between polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and health risk has become one of the hotspots in the fields of public health and the environment. A bibliometric study of 1392 research articles retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) published between 2002 and 2021 was performed to give an in-depth statistical evaluation of research progress and future trends on PAHs and health risk (PHR). According to the findings, the annual output of significant scientific papers increased exponentially. China ranked first among the 86 nations in terms of the number of publications (NP), followed by the USA and India. Logistic regression analysis showed that there was a positive relationship between the second tertile of 180-day usage count (AOR = 1.62; 95% CI: 1.16-2.26) and increased odds of open access publishing after adjustment for the confounders, indicating that open access papers on PHR were more preferred over the preceding 6months than non-open access articles. The most popular terms were "PAHs," "risk assessment," and "source identification." According to the bibliometric study, the research hotspots that require more exploration include identifying PAH sources in media such as soil, water, dust, and food and evaluating their linkages to health hazards using appropriate risk models. Understanding the environmental behavior, bioavailability, and health concerns of PAHs and their derivatives in various media is critical for environmental and public health protection. This paper provides an overview of current research status and future perspectives for PHR research.

The Author-Level Metrics Study: An Analysis of the Traditional and Alternative Metrics of Scholarly Impact for Neurosurgical Authors.

Background and objectiveThere is a paucity of information regarding the concordance of traditional metrics across publicly searchable databases and about the correlation between alternative and traditional metrics for neurosurgical authors. In this study, we aimed to assess the congruence between traditional metrics reported across Google Scholar (GS), Scopus (Sc), and ResearchGate (RG). We also aimed to establish the mathematical correlation between traditional metrics and alternative metrics provided by ResearchGate.MethodsAuthor names listed on papers published in the Journal of Neurosurgery (JNS) in 2019 were collated. Traditional metrics [number of publications (NP), number of citations (NC), and author H-indices (AHi)] and alternative metrics (RG score, Research Interest score, etc. from RG and the GS i10-index) were also collected from publicly searchable author profiles. The concordance between the traditional metrics across the three databases was assessed using the intraclass correlation coefficient and Bland-Altman (BA) plots. The mathematical relation between the traditional and alternative metrics was analyzed.ResultsThe AHi showed excellent agreement across the three databases studied. The level of agreement for NP and NC was good at lower median counts. At higher median counts, we found an increase in disagreement, especially for NP. The RG score, number of followers on RG, and Research Interest score independently predicted NC and AHi with a reasonable degree of accuracy.ConclusionsA composite author-level matrix with AHi, RG score, Research Interest score, and the number of RG followers could be used to generate an "Impact Matrix" to describe the scholarly and real-world impact of a clinician’s work.

The silver jubilee of the Nitric Oxide journal: From 1997 to 2021

Based on the Scopus record, Nitric Oxide journal (NOJ) has completed 25 years of publications. On March 8, 2022, the publication data was retrieved from the Scopus database and analyzed on VOSviewer and R-Studio (Bibliometrix R package/Biblioshiny). NOJ has published 1928 research documents majorly comprising of articles (1611/83.56%) and reviews (210/10.89%). The total citations and h-index were 56291 & 97, respectively. The per year (from 1997 to 2022) publications and citations are presented in this study. We tried to highlight some of the influential researchers, institutes, and countries. In all publications, 7450 authors have contributed with a collaboration index of 0.241. For all authors, we provided descriptive details about their total number of publications (NoP), total citations (TC), h-index, g-index, m-index, citations per paper (CPP), citation per year (CPY), HG Sqrt and Q2Index. Based on each indicator, we highlighted the top five scientists. The research publications (over time) of the top ten authors are also described. Furthermore, the collaboration network of authors is graphically presented. We also provided descriptive details about the most productive institutes. The highest number of documents are published by the University of Sao Paolo (n = 78), Brazil, while in-country sections, USA has the highest number of publications (n = 553) with 21739 citations and 69 h-index. In the same vein, for each era (five years) details about the top five countries are provided. In all publications (n = 1794), 34 European, 3 North American, 13 Asian, 10 South American, 5 Middle East, 8 African and 2 Asia Pacific countries have contributed. Numerical details about the collaboration links of all countries and the per-era contributions of the top ten countries are also provided. Based on the co-words analysis the per era research focus is graphically presented. Descriptive details about the major trends in publication in each era are also provided. We also manually analyzed 160 words that appeared more than thirty thousand (n = 30,000) times and tried to provide a broader overview of research publications. Based on Scopus record, the NOJ ranking is yearly improving and presently (2021–2022) it holds 14th and 17th positions in clinical biochemistry and physiology. The success could be attributed to all researchers, institutes, editors-in-chief, reviewers, editorial board & entire management.

A Review of Bayesian Networks Applications for Electrical Systems

Abstract: The development in the field of electrical energy has been growing increasingly due to the need for this energy in daily life. The reliability and safety of electrical power systems and equipment represent complex problems that are difficult to solve by conventional methods such as Fuzzy Logic and Artificial Neural Networks. Bayesian network is recently used to overcome some limitations in conventional methods. This paper represents a bibliographic review about the use of Bayesian networks in the field of electric systems. This paper seeks to answer the following questions: (i) What are the areas of interest? (ii) What are the most active countries in this field?? (iii) Who are the most participating authors in this field? (iv) which year witnessed the largest number of publications? (v) What is the most widespread field related to this research? (vi) What is the most used system in terms of application? This field witnesses a slight increase in the number of publications in the last two decades (1999–2021), with a note of a sharp increase in publishing in the last two years. It is observed that reliability assessment and fault diagnosis are the most common fields. Furthermore, it is found that China and USA are the active countries in this field. Electric Power and Energy Systems Journal and IEEE Transactions on Power Systems Journal are the lead source documents, and most of the documents used electric power systems as an application. This paper will help researchers to know the versability features of BN and to identify the gaps in the use of BN in electric domains.

Trends in Photocatalysis Research from the Year 2000 to 2020

Background: The sole objective of the present study is to explore the research trends in photocatalysis. Materials and Methods: In this area, the first document was published in the year 1921 and until August 2020, a total of 6940 documents have been archived in the Scopus database. Results and Discussion: It is worthy to note that after 2000, a remarkable increase in publications has been noticed. In fact, 6605 articles have been published after 2000. The highest number of publications have been reported in 2019 (784/11.87% of 6605) followed by 2018 (740/11.20% of 6605) and 2017 (624/9.45% of 6605). We calculated the per year growth rate and doubling time of publications. In research publications, the top three (3) countries are China (3030/43.65%), USA (704/10.14%) and India (503/7.24%). We provided the details which may explain why China is the global leader in photocatalysis research. Furthermore, by Vosviewer analysis, we provided the coauthorship and citation details of only research articles and reviews (total 6197 documents). Based on the (a) number of publications and (b) citations, the list of top ten (10) authors, institutes, countries and source details are provided. We also performed the Vosviewer analysis for China’s publications (n=3030). The details about the top authors, institutes and collaborative countries are provided. One of the fundamental questions is: what has been covered in photocatalysis research articles and reviews (n=6197)? For this purpose, we manually analyzed 47,722 keywords and grouped them into different categories. Conclusion: Mostly the document covered research under the names of photocatalysis, semiconductors, photochemical sources, instrumental techniques, electrochemistry, nanomaterials and water treatment. We extended the idea and explored the research publications in selected semiconductors (like titanium, graphene, cadmium, bismuth and iron-based compounds), water purification, toxic pollutants, photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide, nanomaterials and certain specific instruments like SEM, TEM & XRD, etc.

The publication performance of Hungarian economics and management researchers: A comparison with the Visegrád 4 countries and Romania

The study analyses the publication performance of economics and management researchers in the Visegrad 4 countries (Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia) and Romania based on their publications in the Scopus database. First, 150 researchers are selected from each country, who are then further selected according to their most recent affiliation and research area. Using a 449-item dataset, six multivariate statistical analyses (e.g. principal component analysis and cluster analysis) are carried out to examine the relationships among the seven variables (e.g. number of publications, citations, and co-authors) that characterize the performance of the publication activity of researchers. The results highlight the excellence criteria for the publication performance of economics and management researchers from the Visegrad 4 countries and Romania as well as their ranking position.

Microstrip Antenna-inception, Progress and Current-state of The Art Review

Background: Microstrip antenna has gained significant attention for a large number of communication systems due to its adaptable features and compatibility. Objective: The major objective of this manuscript is to assess the microstrip antenna technology for structure adaptability, the feature based performance capabilities, design and versatility. Methods: The major reviews conducted in every decade on antenna technology highlighted the significance of microstrip antenna technology. Moreover, a review of the articles on microstrip antenna published in ‘IEEE Transaction on Antenna and Propagation’ revealed that these antennas can primarily be used instead of other types of antennas. : The available presentation of microstrip antennas includes features, such as small size, flatness (low profiles), wide-ranging impedance bandwidth, high gain, and circular polarization. A chronological assessment of the major endeavors in the microstrip antenna study conducted during the last four decades, is highlighted. Results: This manuscript focuses on the cutting-edge developments in the microstrip antenna technology and facilitates various modern designated extents, which provide the readers an insight into the tractability presented by microstrip antennas and their prospective benefits as compared to different types of other antennas like lens antenna, dish antenna, horn antenna, etc. The recent advancements in manufacturing techniques of microstrip antenna are reviewed. A large number of publications on the applications of microstrip antennas, such as communication, sensing, energy harvesting, biomedical relevance etc. are also included to show their importance at present. Conclusion: This article presents a state of the art evaluation of the research carried out on microstrip antennas from the time of their inception to till date. It consolidates the information for the researchers working in this field and will be helpful in enhancing the efforts for the research.

Bibliometric Analysis of Current Drug Metabolism: The Twentieth Anniversary from 2000-2019.

Scopus is regularly covering Current Drug Metabolism from 2000 onwards. The major objective is to perform the 1st bibliometric analysis of Current Drug Metabolism (CDM). The data was retrieved from Scopus in April-May 2020 for detail analysis. The total number of publications was found to be 1551, with 955 reviews (61.57%) and 466 articles (30.05%). From 2000 onwards, we calculated the relative growth rate and doubling time. Based on the number of publications, total 4418 authors, 3235 institutions and 83 countries were directly involved in all publications. M.A. Kamal is the highly productive scientist with fifty-three (53 or 3.73%) publications, King Abdulaziz University is the top university with the highest number of publications (58 or 4.13%) and the USA is the top-ranked country with 365 publications (25.96%). We also provided the h-index, total citations (TC), h-index without self-citations (WSC) and total WSC of the top ten authors, universities and countries. In citations analysis, Prof. Zhou S.F. was the top scientist with the highest (1594) number of citations. In institutional category Department of Drug Metabolism, Merck Research Laboratories, Rahway, United States, is the top ranked institutes with 654 total citations. While, United States is the top-ranked country with 18409 total citations. In co-words analysis, 3387, 30564 and 17333 terms in titles of the manuscripts, abstracts and keywords were recorded, respectively. This indicated that CDM principally focused on understanding drug development ranging from its efficacy to delivery, metabolism, distribution, safety and mechanism of actions. Similarly, various specific drugs were thoroughly discussed in publications. Various enzymatic, genetics, proteins and cancer-related aspects were also described. For data presentations, we used VOSviewer graphical maps. The data confirm that CDM showed continuous growth in the number of publications and citations. However significant measures are needed to make overall progress and improve the rankings in relevant categories.

Scientometric Analysis of Global Research on Trichomoniasis in Scopus Database (1922 -2018).

Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) prevalent in different parts of the world. The present study was designed to evaluate the scientific output and collaboration of researchers worldwide on trichomoniasis. In the present scientometric research, all papers conducted on Trichomonas vaginalis (T. vaginalis) published in the time period of 1922 to 2018 were extracted from the Scopus database and evaluated according to the aims of the research, using scientometric software. The results of this search strategy were the retrieval of 12,596 scientific papers authored by a total of 28,822 people during 97 years (1922-2018). Research in this field has encountered success and failure over the years. The first article on trichomoniasis at the Scopus database was published by Musgrave W.E. (1922) in the "Journal of the American Medical Association". Most papers on this subject (352) were published in 2013; and the years 2017 and 2016 are ranked second and third. Researchers from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have the highest number of papers in this field (210). Alderete J.F. with 111 papers is the most active researcher on trichomoniasis in Scopus. Also, researchers from the US ranked the first with 3,236 papers. In Iran, by the end of 2018, 138 papers on trichomoniasis have been registered in Scopus, which accounts for only one percent of the world's science production in this field. The results following about one century indicated that the number of publications on T. vaginalis is growing and that there is a high level of collaboration among researchers in this field. Moreover, many countries have collaborated internationally on trichomoniasis research with the US as the leading country.

The Present Situation of Patellofemoral Arthroplasty in the Management of Solitary Patellofemoral Osteoarthritis

Patellofemoral (PF) osteoarthritis (OA) is a somewhat predominant illness, affecting up to 24% of women and 11% ofmen over the age of 55 years who suffer from symptomatic knee OA. The purposes of this narrative overview are tosummarize the present situation of patellofemoral arthroplasty (PFA) in the treatment of solitary PF-OA, and to givean account of the clinical results of PFA for the management of solitary PF degenerative OA of the knee. A CochraneLibrary and PubMed (MEDLINE) examination related to the position of PFA in PF-OA was carried out. A number ofpublications have encountered that PFA is an efficacious treatment for solitary PF-OA. Additionally, a systematic reviewdescribed fairly good results of PFA survivorship and functional outcomes at short- and mid-run follow-up in the settingof solitary PF-OA. Success of PFA depends on accurate patient selection rather than prosthetic failure or wear. In manyreports, the main cause of PFA failure is advancement of tibiofemoral OA. In contemporary times, encouraging resultshave been accomplished by the association of PFA and unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA). In conclusion,patients with solitary PF-OA with severe anterior knee pain may be candidates for PFA. The success of the surgicalprocedure and the long-run survivorship of PFA are related to a good surgical technique and observation to meticulousindications and contraindications in patient selection. Newer prostheses have also played a part to amelioratedoutcomes. PFA is an alternative for younger patients with solitary PF-OA.Level of evidence: III

Explanatory construction in the media language

The article considers the problem of functioning in the language of the media of the Russian explanatory structure. The study is based on the results of studying explanatory sentences in Russian syntactic science, which is reflected in the article as a brief history of their study. The study is based on observations of explanatory constructions in the language of various modern media presented on the Internet. As a starting point, it is argued that in order to solve a problem in a media text, it is necessary to distinguish between the text itself and the paratext, as well as the author’s beginning of the text. The study revealed that the explanatory structure acts as the headings of news texts, subheadings of author columns and interview leads. At the same time, news texts found a special type of speech news, the heading of which is an explanatory structure, and the author’s beginning is mainly verbs of speech. The most significant grammatical result is that the media language not only uses the entire repertoire of explanatory constructions known to the literary language, but also forms a number of spe cial constructions based on the reduction of various elements of the modus proposition and even its whole: these are constructions with a omitted modus predicate of the type “Author about the problem”, “author: replica”, as well as a predicative deliberation with interrogative pronouns like who, where, why, what, it is increasingly used as a heading in a number of pub lications. All these reduced constructions meet the conditions of media communication and genre differentiation of media texts. In addition, it has been shown that important textual and grammatical characteristics of the media text are set in the paratext.
