New species of Pseudodiaptomus (Copepoda:Calanoida) from the salt pans of the Gulf of Kutch, India and a comment on its speciation

A new species of calanoid copepod Pseudodiaptomus pankajus (family Pseudodiaptomidae) is described from the north-west coast of India. This species inhabits high saline waters of salt pans. It appears to have evolved allopatrically during the Cretaceous as a result of continental drift.
