Background. Despite the fact that in the Russian Federation scooters are officially recognized as vehicles not so long ago, the level of injuries on scooters has been growing for several years. Aims: to study some epidemiological data, as well as the nature of injuries in victims in the conditions of non-fatal e-scooter injury. Materials and methods. The study included 78 medical records of persons injured in road incidents involving electric scooters and who were being treated in the trauma department of the Regional Hospital No. 4 of Adler from 2020 to 2021. The method of retrospective analysis analyzed the impact on the nature of the injury of sex, age, seasonality, time of day, gave a characteristic of the damage depending on the category of road users (driver, pedestrian). Results. Of the 78 road incidents involving electric scooters, 28 occurred in 2020, 50 in 2021. The sex distribution was almost the same, with 40 men and 38 women. The average age of the victims was 36 (30; 45.8) years. The most incidents (n = 52) occurred in the summer and autumn months. It was possible to establish the exact time of injury in 42 cases, of which in 17 cases the injury occurred in the daytime, in 18 cases - in the evening. Depending on the circumstances, all incidents were divided into falls from electric scooters (n = 73), collisions of moving scooters with pedestrians (n = 3), collision of moving scooters with a moving car (n = 2). Fractures in the victims were diagnosed in 73 cases, in 67 cases they were closed. Intra-articular fractures were detected in 41 victims. Fractures of the lower extremities (n = 43) in all victims prevailed over fractures of other localizations. Knee injury was observed in 18 cases, proximal tibial epiphysis injury was 14 cases. Conclusion. Scooter trauma tends to increase. Scooter trauma in the warm regions of our country is characterized by a year-round occurrence with a predominance of such incidents in the summer months, when a large influx of vacationers is observed in Sochi. The most common type of incident is falls from electric scooters with the formation of fractures in scooters. Trauma of the lower extremities was more often diagnosed, accompanied by intra-articular fractures of the condyles of the tibia.
