Effect of Contact and Collisional Quenching Model on 2‐Bromophenyl Boronic Acid Using Positive Deviation S–V Plots

AbstractThe steady state studies of fluorescence quenching of excitation energy of heterocyclic compound namely 2‐bromophenyl boronic acid (2BPBA) by aniline was carried out in 1, 4 dioxane (DX), toluene (TL), methanol (ML), heptane (HP), nonane (NN), butanol (BL), and propanol (PL) solvents with a view to understand the role of quenching mechanism. The quenching process is studied in the selected solvents using steady state method by Stern–Volmer (S–V) plots having upward curvature.

High Density Alkyl Diamondoid Fuels Synthesized by Catalytic Cracking of Alkanes in the Presence of Adamantane

Alkyl diamondoid fuel mixtures have been prepared under moderate conditions by AlBr3 catalyzed cracking of nonane and heptane in the presence of adamantane. The fuel mixture prepared with heptane as the alkyl source (HA) contains primarily 1-ethyl-3-methyl adamantane and 1-propyladamantane, while the mixture prepared from nonane (NA) contains primarily C13–C15 alkyl diamondoids. Both fuel mixtures exhibit densities greater than 0.9 g/mL and volumetric net heats of combustion approximately 10 and 6% higher than conventional jet and diesel fuels, respectively. The structural diversity of the fuel blends and presence of multiple branch sites lead to lower viscosities compared to pure alkyl diamondoid fuels. The lower molecular weight blend, HA, exhibits a 40 °C kinematic viscosity of 3.22 mm2 s–1, well within the specification for diesel fuel, and both blends have derived cetane numbers of >42, suggesting that they can be used directly in conventional diesel engines.

Discontinuous alkylation of diphenylamine with nonene for maximum catalyst utilization

This study examines the alkylation of diphenylamine (DPA) with nonene (NON) in a liquid phase catalyzed by acid-treated clay-based catalysts from commercial suppliers (Fulcat 22B, Nobelin MM, and Jeltar 300). Alkylations were conducted to achieve the highest possible selectivity of diisononyldiphenylamine (DNDPA), low selectivity of monoisononyldiphenylamine, and a maximum triisononyldiphenylamine yield of 4%. This study also examines the reaction conditions to selectively form dialkylated diphenylamine from DPA and NON in a batch reactor. Repeated use of the catalyst during the alkylation of DPA with NON was also investigated. Catalyst deactivation takes place during the alkylation of each batch and intensifies with repeated catalyst use, resulting in low DNDPA selectivity. The regenerated catalyst was sufficiently active only until the regeneration of the first and second batches. After the third batch, the catalyst’s selectivity for DNDPA was very low, and its reuse in the alkylation of DPA with NON was not efficient. Therefore, to achieve the maximum length of catalyst activity, the fresh catalyst was gradually added to the used catalyst from a previous batch, thus maintaining a high activity of eight batches. The reduction in catalyst activity was probably caused by the irreversible adsorption of substances on the surface, a loss of microporous structure, and a loss of surface acidity. DPA or alkylated products are adsorbed on the surface oxygen of the catalyst through nitrogen and form nitro formations. The fresh and regenerated catalysts were characterized by their surface area, surface acidity, pore size distribution, and pore volume.

Synthesis of Quinolinone- and Pyridinone-Fused Oxabicyclo[3.3.1]nonanes

以2-羟基查尔酮与4-羟基-2（1 H ）-喹啉酮或4-羟基-2（1 H ）-吡啶酮在正丙醇中回流反应，立体选择性地合成了喹啉酮和吡啶酮稠合的2，8-二氧杂双环[3.3.1]壬烷衍生物.其中，喹啉酮片段通过烷基化反应可转化为相应的氮烷基取代的喹啉酮和氧烷基取代的喹啉结构.目标产物均未见文献报道，其结构都通过了 1 H NMR、 13 C NMR、IR和HRMS的表征，6-苯基-2，12-二氢-1 H -6，12-亚甲基苯并[7，8][1，3]二氧桥[5，4- c ]吡啶-1-酮（ 3r ）和1-异丙氧基-8-苯基-14 H -8，14-亚甲基苯并[7，8][1，3]二氧桥[5，4- c ]喹啉（ 6c ）的结构和立体构型还进一步获得了X射线单晶衍射的证实.

Preliminary acute and subchronic toxicity studies of GLG-V-13, a novel class III antiarrhythmic agent, in mice.

The acute and subchronic toxic effects of GLG-V-13 (3-[4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)benzoyl]-7-isopropyl-3,7-diazabicyclo[3.3.1]nona ne dihydroperchlorate, CAS 155029-33-7), a novel class III with some class Ib antiarrhythmic activity, were investigated in mice. The estimated LD50 for GLG-V-13 given orally were 419 mg/kg for male mice and 383 mg/kg for female mice, respectively. The acute toxic signs appeared to be of the central nervous system in origin. Four groups of mice (15 per sex, group and dose) were fed daily with diets containing GLG-V-13 for 90 consecutive days. The equivalent daily doses were 0, 22, 50 and 121 mg/kg/day and 0, 27, 60 and 136 mg/kg/day for male and female mice, respectively. All of the mice survived. Food consumption was decreased. However, mean body weight and body weight gain were not significantly changed. Gross pathological changes, especially in the lungs and liver, were found in the middle and high dose groups. Consistent increased mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration and decreased mean corpuscular hemoglobin were observed in all dose groups. Hepatocellular necrosis was found in both male and female mice treated with the drug and was dose-dependent. Marked vacuolation of the X zone in the adrenal gland with mild to moderate deposition of ceroid pigments (brown degeneration) was observed in female mice. Lesions in the kidneys and adrenal glands may be a possible reason for changes in serum sodium and potassium ions concentrations leading to an increase in water intake. A significant reduction in cholesterol in the high dose group may be a favorable pharmacological effect of GLG-V-13. The data from the 90-day subchronic toxicity studies indicate that GLG-V-13 appears to have limited systemic toxicity potential.

Cyanoacetylene and Its Derivatives. 30. Reactions of 2,3-Dimercaptoquinoxaline with 3-Phenyl-2-propynonitrile and 4-Alkyl-4-hydroxy-2-alkynonitriles

The reaction of 2,3-dimercaptoquinoxaline with 3-phenyl-2-propynonitrile (~10 mass % KOH, 20-25°C, 5 h, dioxane) gave the S,S-diadduct (as with unsubstituted acetylene). 2,3-Dimercaptoquinoxaline reacted with 4-alkyl-4-hydroxy-2-alkynonitriles to give 2-cyanomethyl-2-(1-hydroxy-1-alkyl)-1,3-dioxolano[4,5-b]quinoxalines or 3-cyanomethylene-8-imino-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1,7-dioxa-4-thiaspiro[4.4]nonane.
