SnO2 and Zn doped SnO2 nano-pyramids were fabricated by automatic jet nebulized spray pyrolysis technique. The morphology and structural evolution were successfully controlled. The X-ray diffraction pattern showed the rutile tetragonal phase for pure and Zn doped SnO2. As the dopant concentration increases, the transmittance and optical band gap decreases. The EDAX analysis confirmed the presence of elements. To evaluate the photocatalytic activity, Methylene blue (MB) and Malachite green (MG) were used. SnO2: Zn (8 at.%) was found to have high photocatalytic activity for MB (90%) and MG (87%) compared to other films.
