Religion and education are natural allies. In the universities of this country there has been a steadily increasing recognition of the importance of religion in a well-balanced culture. Certain characteristics of religion in a university are clear. Religion must be in substantial harmony with the intellectual life of the university. It must rest on a foundation of facts and evidence, not on dogma and affirmation. It is more than knowledge; it is a way of living. It finds its supreme expression in the spirit of Jesus.
